Just to so there's clarity between players, if not characters: This is just Ysandre being polite and friendly. I'm not really sure it qualifies for an 'Aww' reaction.
 
We both hold the Artifact aloft, and I channel my essence through us, forging a better bond between you and your Artifact, unlocking a number of Evocations equal to excess successes plus one. But it cannot be used again until you've bought all those Evocations with XP.

Very nice. I should probably write up some more Evocations, then :)

This still doesn't let me use Evocations that requires Essence greater than 1, right?
 
Spending 15m on Wake the Sleeper, and 10m on the Excellency.

That means that it unlocks 7 Evocations
I count 13 sux, and with difficulty 5, that leaves 8 extra sux for a total of 5 unlocked evocations if I read Wake the Sleeper correctly. Am I missing something?
 
I dont suppose we'd be able to bank the overflow for when we increase in Essence. It's a lot to ask for, but given most weapon writeups barely have E1 support, I figured I'd ask anyway.
 
That's awesome. I start a week long vacation after today. Since I was already planning on doing hobby stuff, I'll see if I can get most of the core stuff fleshed out.

FWIW I'll still be here, just taking time away from work to catch up on personal projects.

So there are two things about Waking the Sleeper I'm unsure about.
1) "If the Solar rolls successes in excess of the difficulty, she unlocks half the extra successes (rounded down) in Evocations."
2) "This Charm may be used once per story, and may not be used again on the same artifact until an amount of experience has been invested in it equal to the cost of the Evocations that were unlocked for free."

Unless I'm missing some errata, 1) means I "only" get 5 Evocations. 2) is a bit more complicated, but to me it seems to say "the Charm can only be used once per Story. Period." And also "even in a new story, it cannot be used on the same artifact unless you've bought all the relevant Evocations with xp."

I'm not trying to rain on Quill's parade here, just trying to Understand.

Regarding the point about only being allowed to use it once per story, I'll go ahead and assume that the previous "story" ended when Lyla and Feren were both persuaded to work together, before Quill used Wake the Sleeper on Joy.
 
I could be persuaded to let you try that Charm out on my Frost Thorn Knuckles.

Wouldn't that be 5? One for succeeding, and then 4 for extra sux.

Just reread the section in question and saw that Quill's uses of Wake the Sleeper for Attimus and Ysandre were more or less both in the same scene. I'll let it slide for now, seeing as it's my fault for not catching it earlier, but I am going to have to forbid any further uses of that Charm for the time being.
 
How does Quill wish to go about his search?

I can see two options here. One is to try and recall more information, and maybe use Introduce Fact. (It can be sued once per scene) The second one, is to chat up Feren, the bandits, or lyla, and see if they can recall any information that can help get us closer.
 
When it was first mentioned, I got the impression Quill didn't want to reveal information to anyone outside the circle to avoid interference. I would think he'd attempt to solve the issue without them first, but again, that may be based on a misunderstanding.

Your project though, don't let us get in the way of making it work.
