tfw ur a mtd sgt and ur PJ leggings are cut thru like butter nicking ur femoral artery

Honestly, somewhat surprised that a good portion of them didn't rout. Especially those two who were on the verge of fighting over loot. But, the outcome was still better than I hoped. Also, Uncle Philip is a chad. Recovered the King's body in the war and is now laying out enemy Knights left and right with his sword by threading the needle.

tfw you're a valot and you're stupid enough to use a cleaver to attack a fully plated knight and then get your melon popped by a fucking flail

I had a part written that I later deleted where it said that they were so taken by surprise that most of them realized they were going to be killed if they started to rout, so they're fighting for their lives - or at least the mounted ones are fighting for their vulnerable dismounted relatives/brothers in arms/whatever, probably from their own retinues/regions rather than for the sake of the alliance. Probably believe they can still win it because of their numbers... though their countercharge formation wasn't great, and at least some of them are fleeing on horseback

Damn, lords and knights who actually care for their own folk? Maybe they're not the greedy, self interested, war mongering varlots I thought they were.

What? Didn't you see Phillippe grant that injured man at arms money for his hand injury?

MaA doesn't preclude nobles but they are usually obscure / lesser ones

Can also include rich commoners though (i.e. Serwyn Wynch)

bolds vs galds

Just to confirm, armor is largely based around 11-12th century, right? Cause mail armor during the Battle of Hastings is rather different than mail during the Battle of Poitiers.

Mid 1200s most usually, though some lords have early 1300s armour

in a nutshell we are at the point where chainmail is still the most popular metallic armour but bits of plate are also around for thr rich

most of the stuff like rondels, elbow cops, knee cops, schynbalds, CoP, etc. are all 1200s anyway, but the earl of sykes does have a jackoplates with lots of small plates kinda like a later brigandine, and he also has segmented pauldrons which would be late

flip helmets are also somewhat later i think

semi historical / semi fantastic armour like ringmail, trellised armour, broignes also exist (esp. in aedor / galdos)

full plate is implied to have been the norm in ancient Aedor

Tfw you dig through historical tapestries from the First Baron's War to find out if closed mail chausses were common at that point in time.

were they?

also i gave Pat case greaves instead of mere schynbalds

Answer seems to be a bit vague. They still used laces to help further secure it especially around their knee and their ankles, but it does largely seem to be closed. That said, the inner thigh and groin are usually exposed cause they needed to be able to ride and control their horses by applying pressure between their legs.

Anyways, my post is up. Don't want to god mode and just assume that Robert lays people out, so I kept it short and sweet. Plan is to just half sword the hell out of them and catch them by surprise by aiming for their hamstring/back of their knee before they can figure out what the hell hit them.

Only for him to be rewarded with the alarming and perhaps mind-blowing realization that a cleaver was not a suitable weapon to use to try and take on an armored lord.

lmao

I'm almost done with my feast post. I'm a true butterlord now, I've called a feast in the middle of War lol. Hey Lorsh Lorsh how do fealty ceremonies go? Do they still gift Rings and drink from the same cup?

I mean, seems like an ez dub. try and capture their lords. they're probably leaving rn. you could probably spare a few to go after the rabbits, but organizing that in the midst of the melee would be hard
