Plus probably a dig at his bachelorship
Speaking of which. That brother of his is only 13 and suspected to be a bastard. But Cherbourg is 29 and would have been 16 at the time. Plus it is said in his bio that the man is a womanizer. Could this be a "raised by Grandpa" situation? Who knows, but it's fun to speculate.

was worried i was giving too many levies...

but 5 million pop (1300 england reference), divided by 204 baronies assuming they all have similar populations in their lands (which they do in FoS for fairness reasons, player-wise), subtract 80% of it to discount the pop that are serfs, then divided by 2 to account for girls, and it still gives a theoretical draft pool of like... 2400 freeborn men per barony

still 1k is probably the amount that you'll actually be able to mobilise - the no shows are probably mostly smallholders

If you need more troops, just start tossing spears to women. Boom, problem solved.
I also might take a page from something irl medieval Scotland did and have an annual muster of the levy just to inspect there equipment and run through basic drills.

Dear lord, I am potentially going to blaze a path of destruction at this rate. Ahh well, at least I'll get my thirds and third of thirds from all this.

Question, is everyone more or less on the same "turn" atm? I know some people have been having a lot of conversations and not much action (like yours truly).

Also, trying to learn about the customs around loot and the spoils of war led me to this little gem if anyone is interested in some scholarly reading:

It's available on JSTOR as well, which give 100 free articles/papers a month.

found another good one

those ones might just be normal ruins unless u wanna come up with some kind of specific story

Dunwell was destroyed by the early Boldic invaders, with a horrific slaughter of the local Fyrdosians (i actually kinda like this term better than 'Fyrdian' but both are still canon - credit SoRonery) taking place and thereafter rendering it a cursed fortress

OK sorceroress

what's arrestable mean

are Jan and Godmund local nobles/merchants
arrestable means you can 'borrow' their ship for nobleman military reasons, if it comes down to it

however i will roll to see if they are actually docked at the time, if you have a Town there may even be outside ships which may become arrestable (usually if they belong to commoners)

yeah they are just random shipowners

shit i never updated flamebay

EDIT:

they are in a bad spot for a navy, since ships can't go through bridges easily (pont bridge is stone) , and they are sandwiched between one and avon mowg

Avon Mowg is still ... 7/10 in terms of dangerousness. It was probably 10/10 directly after the Schism, but has quieted a little... There is a waterway through the ruins but nobody really uses it. Stuff is around that can attack you from the water. There were probably undead there at some point, but not anymore.
