Yea that was bad.

Good to hear the Caps are terrible. They suck.

I decided to watch the game last night against the Maple Leafs. I was curious and wanted a closer look of the teams, namely the Caps since I saw the Maple leafs once already this week. The backup goalie kinda held his own, didn’t look too bad tbh. (Caps-Lindgren) But they were sloppy with the puck. They still kept it close and could have won which was a step up from the Bruins beating they took to open the year. But yeah, they look sloppy right now.

Equipment got a expansion in BAP. Some extra choices in the brands available each year. But they also added a Easton stick this year….. A throwback I haven’t seen in awhile. Awesome though! A small thing but kinda cool. Decided to use some family heritage least to some degree with my BAP player this year. Can’t use all but chose to use some. Definitely loving all the new teams added on the European side of the CHL leagues. Kopitar’s old team he played for is here amongst many new teams. Stavanger Oilers included! Was hoping for it but cool to see. No Denmark teams so far less I skipped past it in each scroll through. Was going to go with another heritage origin choice with one of the new German teams. A lot of cool options for new teams. but Oilers was a clear choice for me haha despite the temptations to join some of the other new options. Going with the plan i originally had for a first forward build and making a enforcer, Ryan Reaves type but 6’4 starting out instead of Reaves 6’2. maybe the tough/low attributes starting out will help open up the draft options? Maybe. Maybe not. Idk.

Anyways, just some rambles as I begin my first look into NHL 23. First chance to play it.

Brett “Hitman” Hart themed mirrored visor with this setup looks sweet imo on the Oilers. The equipment picks, stick mainly but all overall looks good together with Stavanger. Name is just a random Danish name pairing I chose since family history wise I couldn’t go that specific with my limited so far knowledge. So no security concerns or anything there obviously.

Agreed! I’ll probably make a switch or down the line if I make a defenseman or something I’ll pick the Easton stick. It actually looks pretty cool though besides the awesome throwback haha.

Fair enough. I’m still getting familiar with those teams and leagues. But yeah, I get it this side is mainly my own hype for seeing the added options.

Oh yeah! Went tinted and mirrored this year with Bret Hart influence from his trademark sunglasses lmao. Going to have some fun with it I think as far as that goes haha.

Ok, I’ll likely be going to NJD or Montreal barring a G20 level shock with a pick trade or something haha. 4 Goals & 4 Assists in the first game I’m pretty sure locks up top pick draft ranking. (Although if I kept the enhanced vibration setting for my controller I would have sucked this game.it was throwing me off big time and couldn’t get used to it quick enough to keep it. Kinda hate that setting so far, maybe I’ll change my mind but for now I think it sucks.)

Well….. Looks like whatever it might be, the same has happened for me as it did for G20. DanQ I know had the normal draft expectations and went to Montreal with the top pick. I’ll probably just go wherever scores higher in the interviews.

One downer is my guy went beast mode to carry the team all the way to the cup final including one massive comeback performance down 5-1 to win 11-9 in the semifinals ending with 9 G and 1 A. Then chipped in multiple goals and still got we got beat. We fell short in the cup final after a 19 G 18 A 37 P performance in the Champions league tournament/playoffs.

Yeah that’s weird. I wonder if it’s authentic pick setting? Though I think DanQ normally selects that as well. Unless he forgot to turn it on during his livestream full show of his player creation, league/team selection process, etc. I don’t think he went to settings for that so maybe that’s it? Classic keeps it normal and authentic somehow changes the order a bit? Although not sure why….

Kinda yeah and kinda no. I was a 92 kid and kinda wanted a high jersey number, so went back to 92 like I did for my defenseman last year. Plus a bonus is that’s usually a safe number and not a taken one in my exp.
