Cabin in the Woods 1x1

Silas looked up, looking over at Hayden, holding the brooch up in the light of the fire "This? It's my mom's brooch." he said, spinning it in his hand before flipping it throughout his fingers like a coin. He looked over at the other and could tell already that he wasn't going to have an easy time with this but...Stressing out wouldn't help. Then again, telling him that wouldn't either, he probably couldn't control it and Silas wouldn't hold him responsible for that.

Hayden nodded. "It's beautiful..." He commented. He didn't know what to say, really. At this point he was just looking for something to break the ice with...though in his mind, literally breaking the ice would be helpful as he's stuck in a blizzard. He glanced all around, the scratching sound still in effect...but now he was used to it.

"Mm, thanks, she got it after marrying dad." Silas said, giving that small bit of extra information, he was sure Hayden didn't care right now but, it was something to think about. That said, Silas eventually put it in his pocket, thinking of it like his mother being with him. If he ever lost it, he'd probably freak out to be honest.

Hayden sighed softly. His head hung low, his eyes closed. "What are we gonna do?" He asked himself. He wasn't complaining, or going on...he just had no legitimate idea of what to do. He was so smart...yet clueless now. Hayden was lost, lost in a blizzard in a cabin, a cabin with weird events going on around and in it, no less.

A loud bang suddenly emerged outside, like the shed door had been slammed. Hayden fell to the floor, jumping at the surprise. "What the--" He said, scrambling to the window...nothing out of the ordinary was out there. He looked to Silas. "Is it just me...or does this cabin have too many weird sounds going on?"

"I-" Silas was cut off when Hayden fell and the sound was heard. He looked up, narrowing his eyes, then picked up from where he left off "Will go check that out." He said, heading over to the door and starting to put on his shoes. He'd had enough, really, and whether it was because he was annoyed or because he had a new found confidence now that it was just the two of them, he was going to figure out what was going on. That said, after his shoes were on his started to put his jacket on.

Hayden scrambled to Silas. He tapped his shoulder. "Considering the wind is doing that--" He gestured to the window, where tree branches looked like rubber bands, "--I'd assume it's safer inside." He said. "But if you insist on going out there, you're not going alone." He said, slipping on his jacket and shoes as well.

Silas didn't look impressed, he would've preferred the other stay inside where it was 'safe', but if the other wanted to go with him he wouldn't stop him. Opening the door he frowned when they were hit with the wind. It was so strong it blew the fire out in the house. Silas ignored that, waiting for the other before he grabbed his phone from his pocket and flicked on flashlight mode, shinning it around whilst heading for the shed.

Hayden followed. The wind was so powerful, it felt like it was ripping through their skin. Hayden squinted to keep his eyes from drying out. He couldn't even see the shed. It was so wild...the blizzard. "This is insane!" He yelled, not because he was upset, but because yelling was the only way to be heard out in this wind.

Silas slowed his pace, making sure Hayden was in sight at all times, eventually, after what felt like forever, the shed's silhouette could be seen in the distance "There!" He shouted back, but the door was...Locked, pad locked and all, Silas stopped Hayden, taking a cautious step back "I broke that padlock off when we got here!" He stated, it didn't just fix itself, chains didn't just...He looked over behind them, then pointed back to the cabin, gesturing they should get back. Now.

Hayden was confused. He looked back to the cabin...but something was off. The fire had been put out by the wind...but the fire was lit. Burning, it's glow was seen from their position. "I thought the wind killed the fire!" Hayden stated in return. "What the hell's going on?" He yelled, only being heard as a mere whisper in this wind.

Silas frowned, taking them back to the cabin, he was pleased to get back into the warmth of it but when he did he immediately went over to the fire an inspected it. It was like it'd never gone out. He stood, looking around the cabin, it was only them, too "Well," he sighed, brushing some of his hair out of his face "this is great."

Hayden locked the door after they walked back inside. Something wasn't right about this place...something was...very off. He couldn't quite put his finger on it. "Am I the only one who's just done with this place?" He asked, slipping out of his coat and tossing it onto the rack, then making his way next to Silas by the fire.

"Nope." Silas muttered, pulling out his mom's brooch, examining it then sticking it back in his pocket. He was still suspicious of inside the house, of course, but it was dead silent and if there was someone in the house they would certainly hear them. Though, at least they were safe for the moment, and Silas sought to keep it that way.

Hayden huddled himself by the fire. Keeping warm and collecting his thoughts. He pondered the events of the evening...the sounds, the images, the overall atmosphere of this place: all of it was off. He didn't want to confide in Silas because he hardly knew him....nothing had brought them together enough to bond. Nothing had happened yet...Hayden felt alone, even with this companion.

Silas sat down in front of the fire, letting out a soft sigh, this place was like it's own personal Hell, wasn't it? He took a glance over at the other, and luckily for him, his hair was enough to hide that glance. The other looked...Well, not ok. Then again, he had had a bit of an attack today, watched his sister get taken away into the storm, and had to deal with Silas himself and no one should need to deal with the socially awkward guy- though, it wasn't too much now. Silas seemed to have turned from an awkwardly silent boy to a protective, serious one in a matter of minutes. Not that this was too visible, but he was more focused on keeping Hayden safe until their parents got back rather than himself.

In the back of his head...Hayden heard something. He heard a hushed voice...a whisper. It drew him to the small office again...he was just going with it. He now deemed this to be "normal." Yikes. He stood, slowly trailing to the office, something luring him there. He stood in it's doorway, looking at the office...the old journal, the scratches in the wall, the thick layers of dust, the images from before came back to his head.

Silas turned his head, watching the other head over to the office while he himself leaned back against the couch. Hayden just seemed to stand there, but it didn't look like he was doing much else. Silas turned his attention back to the task at hand, and that was being stuck together. More awkward that it sounded to be honest. He wondered if there was anyway to turn that around, surely they couldn't keep avoiding each other, ok well not each other, talking to each other forever- or at least until their parents got back. But that aside, this cabin, it wasn't normal that much could be established. Silas sighed, fiddling with the brooch, or he would've been- if it was in his hand. He looked down, it wasn't there. He looked around him, wasn't there either. Looking back up the realization hit him and that was, despite the fact that he'd had it just a second ago, it was now gone. He blinked, maybe he'd put it back in his pocket. He would've checked, but for the fear that it wasn't there either, he didn't want to.

Hayden was totally out of it. Unaware of his surroundings. He didn't notice Silas looking for the brooch, all her could do was stand in the doorway of the office. He stumbled to the desk, picking up the dusty journal and flipping through the worn pages. Random things written, notes, scribbles, most of it looking...off. The start of the journal looked calm, though as the pages went on...the writing got wild. Appearance wise, and material wise.

Silas sighed, assuming he'd droped it somewhere despite haing it just seconds ago. Oh well, it wasn't the end of the world, certainly he'd find it later. Glancing over his shoulder he could see Hayden flipping through the pages off- oh. He'd seen the book before, no, journal? It didn't matter, it was the sameone he'd seen in his dream, with the man and the, ah hell, what was it? He blinked, the thoughts flooded back, the...He didn't kno what to call it. The creature.
