Breaking the Rules [Inactive]

Yammat sat and summoned a katana. He just started swinging from one place to another. He noticed a guard looking at him and pleaded, "Don't tell anyone about this?" The guard nodded and slowly walked away. Yammat blushed and sat back down again. "Note to self: Don't practice at a place with easy access."

Jo had fallen asleep in her room, the walls on the sides were warm. She just asumed she was next to Elemental's room and layed on the warm walls. Some guards came in to wake her up and tell her to get up and change, since the class was about to be over and they needed to reset the rooms. As she finished changing she heard the bell. "Team work is next..huh?" she thought to herself, she usually felt better alone, but now that people were getting to know each other, maybe a random teammate could help her developing her abilities.

She exited the Chamaleons rooms and went to the fields to meet up with all the other students, where a random teacher would give everyone one or more people to work with. Jo was excited, lined up as quick as she could.

Yammat heard the bell and deducted that sparring would come later. He followed the large horde of students out to some fields. 'Yay! Large areas of land covered by human beings' Yammat thought, as he hung his head in sorrow. He lifted his head and noticed the man named 'Ignis'. Oh yeah. He's the guy who denied his humanity. "I should try to make more friends..." He turned and noticed Kamryn, who was looking more down than usual. Wait, Yammat'd never seen her sad; he can't say sadder the USUAL. Nonetheless, she looked down, but he wanted to meet Ignis...with a better first impression. "Aaahhh...The choices are killing me...!" Yammat noticed a small crowd of people notice his mumble. There were whispers among them. All of which, Yammat could hear. Things like, 'Hey it's that Yammat guy.' 'Didn't he question Troy?' 'I heard he can control darkness.' 'Darkness? That's a first.' Yammat could've sworn that he heard someone call him hot. He decided to send them off. "What're you lookin' at?" The crowd went silents and stopped talking about him.

Zak knew exactly what Kamryn was experiencing, he had gone through it all before when his 'pranks' didn't quite go to plan and he was sitting in a holding room with a tazer burn on his shoulder. "You're crying, it happens when you get upset about something, I don't know why we do it, but... we do, I've seen some of the guards do it too, so it must be normal." He scratches the side of his head before sitting down next to Kamryn, "So don't worry, you aren't broken" Zak wasn't really quite sure why he was trying to comfort Kamryn, the idea of someone else being upset kind of upset him as well, he wondered briefly if Kamryn had was a Mental that had the power to do this to him, but he shakes it off. Troy's class seemed to have affected the Krayas differently, it seems. He was going to say more, but then the low ring to signify the next class rings throughout the facility, and he gets up and puts a hand out to help Kamryn up. "Coming? We have teamwork next, though you already know that..."

Yammat finally thought , 'Screw it,' and walked up to Ignis. While walking, he thought through how to introduce himself. He decided to take a simple route. "E-excuse me...!" Yammat walked up to Ignis and waved. "I don't believe we've properly met...I-I'm Yammat. Nice to meet you." He offered his hand for shaking.

Kamryn watched Zak, listening to what he had to say intently. That he hadn't left had surprised her a little... and that he was reassuring that she was ok surprised her further. Still, that he had experienced this and that he had seen others as well gave her hope that there really wasn't anything wrong with her really. It looked like he would have continued if it hadn't been for the bell. Kamryn sighed, not really sure if she was allowed to go to the next class... if she did she probably wouldn't be a very good partner to whoever she was with but she might as well give it a shot, right?

Noticing that Zak had offered a hand to help her up but not hearing what he had said she looked at his hand for a moment before accepting the help and getting up. She gave Zak a grateful smile as she got to her feet. "Thanks." She said, feeling like she should say something more but not sure how to phrase it. She thought for a moment before continuing. "It makes me feel better that you understand this feeling. And I'm glad that I'm not broken."

Smiling again as she rubbed the remaining moisture from her face Kamryn began heading toward the class. Since she wasn't broken she should be able to help out. Besides, working with someone else was an extremely valuable experience that she should never pass on. "Zak... what do you think on what Troy had to say?" Kamryn asked, pausing her stride. She had decided that she should walk alongside Zak to class if he was willing to put up with her company for a little while longer.

While he walks alongside Kamryn, a much more natural, mischievous smile takes over Zak's face as Kamryn asks him what he thinks. "Personally, I think Troy has given us alot of... incentive, to say the least" the smile slowly leaves his face as Zak thinks about it in more detail. "I'm wondering why they would keep us here at all, if we were taken from our parents, wouldn't it be easier to just kill us instead of keeping us alive here? It would make their job a whole lot easier... I don't think its safe for Krayas here, they are obviously have a reason for us to be here, and I'm not particularly keen on helping them" The smile returns to his face as he stares Kamryn in the eyes "What about you?" he figured that the suggestion was subtle enough that it wouldn't attract any particular attention from anyone that wasn't in Troy's class, but he hoped Kamryn got his meaning.

Kamryn listened carefully, her gaze staring ahead at where the other students could be seen. Zak's words spiked fear and curiosity in Kamryn, honestly... the prospect of escape had been bugging Kamryn, digging at the back of her mind. Yammat seemed to be on the same page as well. She wondered about other students who might also be interested in it... but it was such a dangerous undertaking and what if there was nothing out there for them? She disagreed with Zak's assessment that it wasn't safe for them here- why wouldn't it be? They had been raised here... obviously for a purpose, or like Zak said they would have been killed by now. So if they had a purpose why would they leave? But if the purpose was good why hadn't they just been told of it?

Kamryn blinked and looked at Zak when he asked her for her opinion. He was smiling... he seemed so sure of what he said that it was difficult for Kamryn to not just believe what he said to be absolute truth- but then she had always had the problem of believing whatever she was told. She looked away, her expression neutral as her thoughts spun rapidly.

"I'm afraid to consider it." Kamryn answered honestly. "It might be really dangerous and what if we aren't welcome? At least we have a home here." Kamryn said softly, looking at Zak's eyes and trying to figure out how she truly felt without his or Troy's influence. She had always known this place and had been content to continue the routine for the rest of her life but now that she knew there was more... well she had to admit it had always been there in the back of her mind but it had been safely locked away. Now that it was out it was growing rapidly and was difficult to ignore. Kamryn knew she'd regret staying here at this point... she wanted to know more about Krayas... where did they really come from? What was their purpose?

"It scares me... but I want to know more." Kamryn replied, attempting to speak the way Zak had. Giving her answer hopefully without the chance of raising suspicions anywhere else.

The smile leaves Zak's face again, his brow burrowed in thought. "Well, I'm in the same boat as you, really. We don't know anything we haven't overheard... but..." he leans closely to whisper in Kamryn's ear "I have a plan, what if we get away without them noticing? Some of the Krayas here go AWOL(Away without leave) from class for days before they get checked on. That would be plenty of time to sneak out and check whats happening on the outside world, and if it turns out to be dangerous, we just come back here before they even notice." Zak steps back from her now, returning to his regular, vague tone "I'm not sure if I could go through with that assignment alone, do you know anyone else who could help? Even you, perhaps?"

"I don't know if anyone would be willing to help you with that assignment." Kamryn said thoughtfully, rubbing at her chin thoughtfully. This was it- was she strong/stupid enough to try this? Could they even escape to begin with, much less make it back in? She closed her eyes a moment, imagining for a moment that it were absolutely possible- would she do it then? She nodded to herself; of course she would. So was she really coward enough to let the risk stop her? No, she decided- no she wan't. This train of thought took a couple of seconds to fly through her mind before her eyes were open and she was looking at Zak thoughtfully.

"You know, I'm willing to give you a hand on second thought. There might be other people interested come to think of it." Kamryn added the second part in, having Yammat in mind and certainly there must be others. Maybe they could get someone to cover for them- someone to help from the inside... as much as Kamryn would have been a decent fit for this with her ability and all she was unwilling to give up the chance to see what was going on on the outside.

"How soon would you be wanting to start on this project?" Kamryn asked after a moment, wondering how long they had to rally others to their cause. They would need to be careful, for certain... you never know who might turn you in after all. Kamryn let the briefest of doubts cross her mind- was she even trustworthy for something like this? If given the chance would she turn Zak in?

Jo was hearing some chatter going on way in the back, this whole thing bothered her to the bone. She looked at the guards around, they were making organizing people. She took a deep breath and slowly started vanishing from sight. She calmly walked to a couple of krayas talking in low voice. She stood next to them hearing what they were saying. ...Jo was startled, these people were actually considering escaping the school!, that was insane, Jo's heartbeat started to race, she was almost scared that people could hear it.

She looked at the girl, she didnt seem fully convinced of the idea. Jo wanted to talk to her, but she was too scared to just show herself, so she walked towards her knowing she couldnt see her, she decided to talk to her while invisible, she also deepened her voice to sound different.

-"Dont do it, please, if anyone would escape here, dont you think everyone who stayed would suffer?, they would re-inforce the security, people would her hurt even more. They would probably torture people to see if they knew where the missing people were. Specially people in your classroom. Is it worth it? Even with the chance that you are looked at like a monster when you go out? Hear it from me...sometimes its better to hide.."

She walked away after that, they were calling names to get started with the pairings. she was still scared, but trusted that the girl would at least think about it. Jo went back to showing herself and got to the front. Thankfully, no Guards had seen her, otherwise she'd be getting punished. She didnt look back, she was too scared. But she always had a calm expression on her face. It was better to hide, it's always better to hide.

Zak looks a little disheartened when Kamryn said she wouldn't help, but then brightens up again when she changes her mind. "I think we will get it underway when we have enough people and information, I'll let you know when it gets started. Anyway, we should get going if we don't want to be late for class." With that, he turns around to walk towards where the teamwork class was being held, unknowing of Jo's interference. He felt satisfied that Kamryn had been open to the idea of leaving the facility, it gave him hope that others would be equally willing. He had a few ideas of who he would approach next, he knew that asking the wrong Kraya would put the entire 'project' in jeopardy. He knew he needed Krayas that would aid the escape effort, so that meant illusionists, Krayas that could hide, and perhaps even break-down walls should the need arise. He looks down at his own hands, he had a plan, but his power wasn't particularly helpful in a breakout scenario unless things got rough. Regardless, he knew that he would approach those in the class that spoke up or seemed open to the idea of escape, like Kamryn was. So that included, Ignis, Yammat, and Jo. But he knew he had to be careful.

Kamryn flinched at the sudden sound of a voice, turning around to try and pinpoint who was talking to her. When she didn't see anyone she couldn't help but wonder if her own illusions were getting to her. Did she feel guilty enough to create a physical voice to tell her about the dangers of doing this? Rubbing at her face the words of the disembodied voice echoed through her head as she fell into place in line.

As she waited to be paired up the words went through her mind again even though the voice didn't speak again. She hadn't thought about the penalties other might pay if someone were to catch on. But... there were Krayas that skipped classes before, surely if she and Zak were careful about it they could be out and back again with none the wiser. Kamryn had been playing with the idea of being able to tie her ability off, for it to seem like there was the two of them somewhere on the grounds even while she and Zak were out... but she wasn't sure if she'd be capable. She had only ever tried her illusions on one other person- she didn't even know if she was capable of creating something that looped like a video.

Was it worth it, in the end? She had given Zak her word already... would she be able to go back on it? What if they got out of here and decided to never come back? Could she live with the guilt of knowing her fellow Krayas may tortured and treated badly for the price of her and a few other's freedom? Eyes beginning to sting at the thought of others hurting for her Kamryn tried to figure out if she was willing to live for herself while waiting to hear who she had been paired with.

A teacher stood in the front and started reading names. "Today we will work on pairs, we tried to get different types of krayas together so dont expect anything else" Jo shrug, there weren't that many Chameleons in the institution either way. What was the fun in 2 people turning invisible. As the teacher called names, the students had to raise their hands to match their couple (given how most of them didnt really spoke to each other ever). She payed attention to the people from her class specially.

-"Cedric and Ignis" , Ah, she kind of wished she had gotten Ignis, he seemed like a nice guy...

-"Zak and Yammat" , Zak.... thats the revolution kid...right?" she thought to herself...

-"Jo and Kamryn" Jo was surprised by that choice....how weird that we just happened to get mostly paired with people from our own classroom, never the less... It was certainly an interesting idea to work with her; specially given the facts...

((OOC: guys I tried to match people who hadn't really talked at all, I hope I didnt screwed up, lol))

Zak was pretty happy with his partner, he had been planning to talk to Yammat at some stage anyway. He thinks for a moment as he walks over to him, he had power over darkness, he knew that much, he wondered if he could shroud others, it would be a useful skill in the breakout. He wonders what task the professor will give them, will they work against each other, or against other pairs? Zak cracks his knuckles "So... Yammat, are you ready?"

Yammat turned to the person who called himself Zak. Being asked if he were ready and seeing Zak crack his knuckles, Yammat assumed he wanted to fight. "A-Are you talkin' bout a fight?" He clenched his fist, ready to fight back. Wait...we're in a large field...with plenty of students. There is an activity going most likely. Yammat shook his head. "Forget that. Yes I'm ready. He turned and saw Kamryn, who he waved to. Turning back to Zak, he asked, "...Soooooo.....what am I ready for?"

Catching motion in the corner of her eye Kamryn turned to look and saw Yammat waving. Presuming he was waving to her and hoping she wasn't making a foolish mistake she waved back, unable to stop a small curve from gracing the edge of her lips. Remembering she was supposed to be finding her partner she looked around. She wasn't sure if the name 'Jo' rang a bell or not... searching she found a person who didn't have a partner yet and headed over to him but he shrugged her off, saying his name wasn't Jo. She continued to search out her partner, noticing a smaller girl that looked younger than the rest of them though she doubted that the girl actually was. Giving a small greeting Kamryn asked "Are you Jo?"

Zak was surprised at first, but couldn't help but laugh at Yammat's defensiveness. "No, I won't fight you, I was meaning are you ready for our teamwork task. Well, unless that task involves fighting you..." Zak wasn't particularly keen on being up against darkness itself, anyway. He pauses for a moment while he looks around at the other partners, he spots Kamryn with Jo in the distance, he hoped that Kamryn would be a good influence on Jo. It didn't escape Zak's notice that people from Troy's class were being paired together, it gave him a chance to see the effects of the class on the other Krayas, but it also meant that they were all in a group if something was to happen. Zak goes on full alert mode while he the teacher finished reading out the pairs.

Jo smiled "Yeah, its me, nice to meet you..Kamryn, was it?" She giggled a bit "I know I certainly dont look like a Joey but Im glad you found me, Im a Chamaleon kraya, you?"

Jo thought to herself that it would be a good idea to get closer to Kamryn, she could become more aware of all the escape plotting going on, but for now she wouldnt think about that. She was considering the different possibilities of what they could do depending on the type of kraya she was...

"I'm a mental Kraya." Kamryn replied, giving her a small smile. "A Chameleon though? I don't think I've ever knowingly spoken to one before... do you like being a Chameleon?" Kamryn asked, feeling slightly distracted by the other girl. Kamryn had always wondered what it would have been like if she was a Chameleon instead of Mental... not that she didn't like being mental but she wasn't very good at focusing which was crucial.

Kamryn wondered what they would need to do in this partnership. Sometimes they're asked to battle and sometimes they're made to work as teams to either defeat other teams or find something. Kamryn mostly preferred the capture the flag games where they really did have to work as a team and not just a partnership.

"Well, yeah..I suppose I like it alright, Im very good at using my powers but....it can mess with your mind sometimes. Us chameleons.. we just get confused a bit, you never quite know if you have full control of your power, or if it controls you..sometimes I wonder, if this face is really my face, and if the things I like are just..part of a camouflage..." -Jo snaped, she got carried away talking about things like that to a complete stranger, she shook her head and smiled again - "Anyways... I hope we dont have to fight or anything, I sure wouldn't want to fight someone that can get inside my head".

"I can't get inside your head if I can't see you." Kamryn pointed out, rather unwisely... but regardless, she had said it and she couldn't take it back now. "I can see how it would be difficult to be a Chameleon... never knowing if your face is your own or not... but then you could always remake yourself, right?" Kamryn pointed out, wondering what it would be like to have an identity crisis.

"So on the off chance that we don't have to battle one another, what are some ways we could use our abilities together? I was wondering if my mental capabilities might make your camouflage more effective... but if you're already really good at it what point would there be to that? I suppose I could do something along the lines of a diversion while you went in for an attack... but then you could cause the diversion and I could use the other's moment of weakness to infiltrate their mind too." Kamryn began to pace while she kept an ear out for the instructor's choice.

"Today we are focusing teamwork to come out on top. It will be similar to that of 'capture the flag' except there will be no time limit today. You are also free to team up with other teams but realize that in the end only one pair will come out on top. If your flag is captured you are out...but the people who still have flags will continue until all the flags belong to one pair. Those who lose will receive punishment for being failures and the winning team will have special privileges for the next week to be laid out later. You will have one hour to hide the flag... after that the game is on and anything goes. Try not to kill each other." The leader of the teamwork teachings said in a smooth, even tone. When he said punishment it didn't sound like it would be severe, just something to remind them that losing was never an option.

Kamryn looked at Jo, able to feel the weariness creeping into her expression. Today was going to be a very long day...

(OOC: You guys ok with that game? If you have any rules to add run them by us or if you would like a change of game give me a heads up
:) )

Jo looked at kamryn thinking of different possibilities to win the game. their team was a chamaleon and a mental, they couldnt stand a chance with an offensive strategy agains elemental or physicals...

-"Kamryn, first we should find a team that can provide us physical defense, Im not saying we are weak but...we dont really have much to work with against others...I dont really know many people, but I've seen you talking to other guys from our classroom, maybe ..they could help?" - The more she thought about it the better it was to have her as a partner... - Look, everything I touch will vanish with me, so just let me keep the flag and hold my hand all the time; they cant attack what they cant see. You could help getting people confused for a moment, then we could grab their flags, do you think you can do that?" - Jo said smiling, she didnt care about winning but she really didnt wanted to lose...or get killed... That was enough.

Zak thinks for a moment as he goes and grabs his team's flag, he knew alot of good hiding spots around the campus from when he was hiding from the Guards, but taking flags off other pairs was going to be a little challenging. Against other Physicals it would just be a contest of who can hit the hardest, and Chameleons can hide their things well, Mentals can basically convince you not to take their flag if they're good enough, and Elementals can leave some serious burn marks. Zak wasn't particularly focused on winning, but he did enjoy the game, he wanted to have fun after an event like Troy's class. He gestures to the flag in his hand to Yammat "Got any ideas? I know a few spots we can put this, but I'm not sure how we are gonna get flags off other pairs. We cant fight every pair for their flag, it'll be exhausting..."

Yammat got worried about losing and started thinking. "Uuummmm....." He played with his hair a concerning amount. Suddenly..."Why don't we hide it in our clothes? No one would think of that." Yammat may not've known how to find things, but he knew how to hide things really, really well. He looked at the flag and back to Zak. "Double take...yeah we're gonna have to hide first." Yammat did another double take and tilted his head. "We need more partners...don't we?"
