Futuristic Brain Burger

"I just wanted to talk to you both because when we first met I was havin' some trouble with a leg wound that made me feel very... Infected." He chuckled for a moment. "I didn't really get the chance to properly talk to you, as far as I remember. I'm not too sure. Regardless. I wanted to know how you're both settlin' in here?" He asked them, glancing between them both.

Bellamy answered first, his voice breaking slightly as he spoke. "I like it here," he said nodding to himself. "Everyone's real nice here and it's good to sleep in a bed again," he said, scratching his neck. "Thank you," he said politely and Tessa smiled down at him. "I agree with my brother," Tessa said simply with a small nod.

"Heh, there's no need to thank me, pal." He said while looking at Bellamy. "But I'm glad you're happy to be here, nonetheless. I'm purely set out to helpin' people survive... It's a little bit of a secret, but... There's a high chance I'm gonna' be a daddy soon, so... Yeah, I'm happy with the people we've got here so far." He gave a warm smile to the both of them and thought to himself for a moment. "Do either of you have any questions about how things work around here? Anythin' that's playin' on your mind?" He asked them. (@Vaila)

Tessa shook her head. She'd already had how everything worked explained to her and she was quite satisfied that she knew everything she needed to. "I think we're both fine," she said after looking at Bellamy who seemed as lasid back as ever. "Congratulations by the way.... on the baby," she said with a genuine smile.

"Thank you." He replied simply to her, smiling. He gave another glance at Bellamy but maintained his friendly look. "So. Bellamy - How old are you, pal? You don't look all that much older than my brother." He said simply, smiling at him. (@Vaila)

"Twelve," he said simply and Tessa relaxed into the chair. "Your brother's Nathan right? Tessa was telling me about him last night," he said somewhat proud to remember the name.

"That's right, kiddo. He's eleven - You'll have to forgive the fact that he's not been very... sociable, recently. He gave us a bit of a scare when he managed to give himself a severe concussion when we were on a supply run. I'm pretty sure he'll come and say hello to you once he's recovered, though. I personally think he's kinda' gettin' a bit lonely around here, but that's just me." He smiled at him. "You any good at shootin', by any chance?" He asked out of curiosity. It clearly related to the topic they were discussing, though. (@Vaila)

Bellamy nodded. "Tessa doesn't let me carry a gun unless I have to, but Brie taught me how to shoot and fight on the way here," he said in awe. "She's awesome." He blushed slightly and looked down at his hands and Tessa had to refrain from giggling.

( Shh... Elizabeth MIGHT just be pregnant xD )
"Heh, fair enough. Yeah... She's been hangin' around with Nathan quite a lot - she's been carin' for him since he can't really do much himself. Poor kid passed out in the shower twice in one day; first time Elizabeth found him, second time he'd managed to get under a towel but he was still half-frozen when Brie found him - Nathan practices down at the range quite a lot, so once he's up and about again you should go down there with him and just get to know each other. You sorta' remind me of him, to be honest." He chuckled softly, maintaining his friendly smile. (@Vaila)

Bellamy nodded simply and blew the hair from his face. "Is that everything?" Tessa asked, slightly surprised. She'd been expecting something.... well something more. Their lives up to this point hadn't exactly been smooth sailing and she honestly hadn't been expecting anything different for this.

"Not entirely... There's some other stuff. I just wanted to remind you that we're workin' on puttin' up the fences more today - so if you hear anythin' loud you know what it is. Secondly, well... I just wish you the best, to be honest. Times are tough, but we've got enough food and water to last for a few months - Also, we're goin' out on a clothes run at some point to get more winter clothing for everyone." He nodded to them but then looked at Bellamy. "Hope you don't mind me sayin', pal. But you need to get your hair cut - Last thing I wanna' see is some walker or runner grab holda' that. Christ, I've cut Nathan's hair God-knows how many times over the years, so if you can't find anyone who can do it right, just let me know and I'll be happy to help ya' out." He offered, smiling at them both once again.

"If there's any problems or you have any questions just let me know and I'll get it sorted." He said in a soft and quiet tone, still keeping his friendly appearance up. (@Soul OMU, @Stew, @Beowulf)

As Tessa awoke the next morning, she was freezing. The clothes she had that were even remotely warm, she'd given to Bellamy telling him that she wasn't cold anyway. That was a lie. She was freezing, but even with the dark blue hoodie that she'd given to Bellamy she could still see him shivering. Dressed in a white tank top and jeans she made her way slowly over to Bellamy and wrapped her own blanket tight around him. He snuggled into it and she smiled. The knowledge of him warm and safe was enough to make her brave the cold. As she stepped out of the room, into the hall, she decided that maybe exercise might warm her up. Jogging around the building at a slow pace, she tried to remember her way around. It was fairly simple and the jogging was helping, but it wouldn't work for long.

-----------------------

Clary was sitting leaning against a wall as she stared out of the window at the blizzard. She'd always loved the snow, but now she hated it. Not only did it block their view of the Zeds, but it effectively trapped them here. Who knows what was out there. Sighing, she stood up and shook her head, wandering around for something to do.

If either of them were to go downstairs, they'd find Norman sat in the kitchen, a fresh pot of coffee brewed up on the kitchen counter; he has a cup of it in front of him, but he looks just as cold as anyone else there. (@Vaila)

Tessa jogged downstairs, feeling warmer already after her run. She spotted Norman in the kitchen and slowed, smiling at him gently. "Hey there," she said, giving him a small wave.

"Hey, Tessa... Good morning. Sleep well?" He asked as he got up and went to the counter, pouring another cup of coffee before walking over and placing it down on the side of the table closest to her. (@Vaila)

Tessa shrugged. "Morning. As well as I could," she said, rubbing her bare arm gently as she looked up at him. "Thanks," she said, accepting the coffee. "How about you? Did you sleep well?" she asked as she sipped the hot liquid. (@DrTrollinski)

"Woke up a bit on the frozen side, but... Decent." He smiled at her. "How's Bellamy doin' after the haircut? He sleep well, too?" He asked her, sipping his cup of coffee while briefly glancing around the kitchen. (@Vaila)

"He was a bit cold. I ended up giving him my jacket," she said softly. "Thank you," she said looking at him with a genuine smile. "For the haircut. The last couple I've given him have been completely awful, he wouldn't even let me near him with scissors," she said with a laugh. She took another sip of coffee and closed her eyes, enjoying the warmth it provided.

"Heh, it was my pleasure. I had to pretty much be Nathan's father when he was growin' up since our actual dad died a month after he was born. Livin' on a low income and all that, I suppose I sorta' had to learn to be a home hairdresser," He chuckled for a moment and sipped his coffee again. "I may not be a professional, but I can give a decent haircut if I need to." He gives a friendly wink and smile followed by laughing for a moment once again; his face soon gains a more serious expression.

"There's an issue, by the way... That snow shouldn't be there. Out of the twenty-three years I've been born, all of that lived here, I ain't ever seen snow in September - Earliest I ever saw it was in Mid-October. Hell, this snow shouldn't be rearin' its head until November. Doesn't look like the man upstairs is on our side this year, eh?" He smiles once again and takes a deep breath. (@Vaila)

(Yes, a moment for me to catch up again.)

'Another cold day.' Conner thhought to himself. He was still surprised how quickly everyone jumped aboard with his idea. And he still had other ideas.

Tessa nodded slowly. "We're gonna have to be really careful," she said with a small frown. "It sure is beautiful though," she added, gazing out at the falling white snow.

"It is... It's the one thing you have to love about New Hampshire. We live in the cold, but... The summer and winter scenery is just--.. It's somethin' out of this world, you know?" He smiles as he looks out the window. ".. It's strange... Since all this began we haven't really had time to stop and admire the things that are... You know, nice..." He says, sighing thereafter. Meanwhile, Nathan would let out a groan as he slowly awakes in his room - he looks down at his arm and quickly pulls the fluid drip from the IV, tossing it aside. His head pains him, but he still manages to force himself onto his very shaky legs; he places one hand on the back of his head and goes to the desk in his room, taking a painkiller from a bottle and tossing it into his mouth; he lets it go to the back of his throat and swallows it dry. (@Vaila
Nathan slowly walked out of his room and nearly fell down the stairs; he had to grip the handrail to ensure that his legs didn't give away and send him flying; he took a deep breath as he wandered through to the kitchen, bumping into the door frame but eventually dragging himself through - Norman turns and looks off at him, seeming slightly surprised to see him up and about. Nathan stumbled over to the counter and leaned over it, bowing his head; Norman says nothing and turns and looks at Tessa. (@Vaila)

Tony walked down to the gym after waking up in the morning. Ash was still sleeping, and although she had woken Clay up, he was staying in the room with Ash, as she had reminded him they were a family. Clay had already completely accepted Norman as a father figure, but Tony didn't like how much it felt like he was encroaching on their little family. He was trying to put Ash to sleep every day, reading him bedtime stories. It was getting on Tony's nerves, as much as she liked and trusted Norman.

When she made it into the room, however, she found it occupied. Just as she walked in, she saw the red-haired lady called Belinda twist on one heel and make a roundhouse kick that lightly skimmed across the wall at such high speeds that it left a perfectly straight, thin line on the wall. "Woah." She breathed in awe at the older woman's display of skill. Antoinette instantly knew from years of watching others practice in the dojo, that if that kick had collided with punching bag, a cloud of dust would've arisen from it. As it was, with so little equipment around the makeshift gym room, knowing her own abilities so perfectly she could successfully skim the wall like that showed beautiful absolute control.

Belinda had heard that little gasp and pivoted on the foot that had just landed on the ground, unsheathing her karambit and turning to look at Tony, eyes sharp in obvious evaluation of her enemy. It was weird to actually see the woman recognize that she wasn't a zombie and make a conscious decision not to go into full-on battle mode clearly glistening in her eyes. The redhead stood calmly and dropped her karambit back in its place. "Who are you?"

"I'm Antoinette Favre. Your name is... Belinda, right? Clay told me about how you saved his and Norman's asses."

Belinda nodded, slumping down cross-legged. "Yeah, I'm Belinda. Nice to meet you. So what's up with "Overprotective Father" by the way? He looks a bit young to be the dad for all of you."

Tony instantly knew who she was talking about, and shrugged. "He likes being boss, is all." Smiling, she offered. "I can see you're pretty good at martial arts. You want to spar?" Belinda raised her eyebrows, a smile on her face and offered her consent. The two set off sparring, though Belinda took it easy on Tony.
