Zumitri
Backyard Custos
Zumitri watched as the teen began stammering, saying he didn't want something and at first not elaborating. "You don't eat it like a popsicle," said Zumitri with a chuckle, buttering and salting the corn cob before picking it up and biting into the hot vegetable. "Grilled corn is so much better than boiled," he said happily. Watching Xen over his corn as he ate, the teen ignored the corn cob and the potatoes, even the burger buns and condiments. Listening to Xen speaking of hating what he was, Zumitri nodded. Custos wolf then unless he remained a rogue, putting himself in danger and at risk of harm or death.

"Because sooner or later, regardless of if you want to or not, you will go feral and attack someone," said Zumitri. "Then you are at risk of death...of injury...not only by scared humans but also by the order and by the packs for endangering their lives," he spoke. "You take the risk of biting someone and killing them...or turning them if you are not careful and then having someone else to teach and mentor when you cannot even take care of yourself," he said patiently. "Werewolves...like wolves...are not meant to live alone. When it comes to the breeding season, your instincts will drive you to mate and sire young. You will be unable to control yourself and may mate either another werewolf or even a human, potentially impregnating them. Of course I can lock you up during this time so you cannot go anywhere or I can potentially put you in the dungeons but running into a mature-sized wolf will create injury and possibly your death. One way or the other, you risk losing your life one day." Zumitri was merely stating facts as he and Ordan had come to realize when researching werewolves and even vampires after his friend had ended up returning to normal somewhat.

As Xen spoke of not wanting anything to happen to those he cared about, Zumitri set his corn down and studied the teenager. "The Blood Order haven't done anything to me yet and I know how to shoot and kill," said Zumitri, waving a hand dismissively. Though he had to admit it was nice having this strange teenager apparently equating him with someone he cared about. "If needed, I can always come here to Custos to hide out. But it is your decision. I won't end up forcing you either way, I'm merely giving suggestions."

Ordan
Ordan's Suite

Ordan was silent, lifting the noodles to his mouth and eating them as Eden looked at him and spoke, speaking of them coming together for a reason. "I know why you all came. You hate what you are and want a cure, a cure that is stalled and Zumitri forbids me from working on while I recover," said Ordan with a growl and a look of annoyance appeared on his face at his friend's insistence that he rest and take the time to enjoy this vacation after working so hard on everything else with his pack and the cure. She spoke of how their ties were strong enough to stick around, even if they became human again, which Ordan wasn't so sure about. He was sure the woman was just saying that to make him feel better and began to regret ever mentioning it.

Eden spoke of he could ask anyone in the pack and they would all give the same answer, that they would remain even if they found a cure. The alpha sighed as Eden looked at him and turned his head to look at her as she spoke of him sacrificing and doing so much for the pack. She seemed so insistent that everything would turn out, even saying in the end, something that surprised him...that she would stay with him if he wanted, whether she was wolf or human. "I cannot be sure that he Blood Order will harm us if we end up becoming human again," said Ordan. He really needed to figure out something with those people. "You're a strange one...agreeing to stay with a monster," said Ordan, taking his time and eating a bit more of his food before setting it aside. Grabbing the ice pack, he sat forward and put it on the back of his head before taking the pills and getting up and wandering into the bathroom to wash them down with water.

Eden furrowed her brow as he spoke; he didn't seem thoroughly convinced, which didn't surprise her much. With a sigh, the female watched him get up and move to the bathroom after stating that she was a strange one due to wanting to stay with a monster. Pushing herself to the end of the bed, she sighed heavily. "You're not a monster, Ordan; you are an amazing man and Alpha who is trying desperately to take care of his pack, his friends." Eden lifted a hand to her hair and combed through the long ebony tresses, feeling a small cold shiver run down her spine. She shook her head, getting up and crossing the room to the bathroom doorway; this was an all-too-familiar feeling. Crossing her arms for a moment and leaning into the bathroom enough to see his reflection in the mirror, she nudged his shoulder gently once he'd gotten the water and meds down. She moved her arms and pointed at him in the mirror. "This is the man who is leading us to a cure, giving us a second chance at a normal life; sure, he has a past, we all have one. And some are filled with happiness whereas some are filled with despair and death, but our courses were changed and now we're all here." Reaching down, she grabbed his large calloused hand in her delicate one and lifted it up, turning to face him.

"I believe in you and I believe in this pack; we will find a cure and we will stick together through and through. And don't you dare call yourself a monster, you're a man who had to do what he had to; you're one of the bravest men I've met. We will all get through this, and I won't leave, no matter what happend, even if it means I have to fight, tooth and claw against the Lichen or whoever comes at us. I won't let you nor the rest face it alone; I'm not going away nor will I leave you alone." Her voice was filled with stubbornness and warmth, firm in her ways. This was her home now, with them, and she cared deeply about every single one of them. She smiled with determination and squeezed his hand.

Jaehwa
Location: Ordan's suite | Interacting: Ordan ( scorpiodragon scorpiodragon ), Eden ( Eliruz Eliruz ) | Mentions: Silvia ( Shaded Shaded ), Adesina, Xiulan

There were quite a few things on Jaehwa's mind as he ate. One of those being Silvia. The biggest conflict in his mind at this point was his uncertain crush on her. Still, he wasn't sure if it was really a crush or if he was just enthralled by her skills and endearing personality. And so, he forced himself to think of what it might be like to kiss her. His wolf was thrilled with the idea, which embarrassed the omega to the full degree, but he himself wasn't all that captivated. In fact, it was more awkward than anything, uncertainty and a small amount of aversion making him promptly dismiss the daydream. At least that was taken care of, but...

How could he really be sure his interest in her was only as friends? Taking in a large mouthful of spaghetti, Jaehwa conjured up an image of him kissing Adesina. That repulsed his primal side, of course, but also bothered the part of him that still clung to being human. It was no different than what he felt envisioning a kiss with Silvia. He tried with Eden in his mind's eye instead. Same result. So he really did view Silvia the same as he did all his female friends.

Feeling quite abashed, Jaehwa sighed, a little upset with himself that it took so much effort trying to sort these emotions out. He knew he could get flustered and confused when he had to talk to pretty girls in the first place; he shouldn't have been so surprised when he mistook that for having romantic feelings towards the source. Why couldn't he be just as comfortable as he was with Ordan when he talked to beautiful women for the first time? Being with Ordan never had made him uncomfortable. Even when the alpha had first taken him in, he felt calmed by his presence.

Jahwa shook his head, trying to forget all this mental commotion again. He could deal with it some more later. Nothing made clear enough sense to him right now.

After having finished, he washed his dishes and silverware. The spaghetti was good and he made a mental note to tell Eden that before he could forget. Before searching for her, though, he popped over to go check on Xiulan. His heart warmed at the sight of her being comfortably asleep. Proud, he stepped away before he could wake her up, heading up the stairs to go check on Ordan, planning to track down Eden afterward. She had gone upstairs to give Ordan food, right? Surely she would've come back down to join him at the table, but he hadn't seen her yet. Maybe he'd be lucky and find them still together, although he couldn't imagine what for.

Bursting into Ordan's room unannounced was probably not Jaehwa's best idea. He didn't think much of it at the time, but, coming in, seeing Eden and Ordan holding hands in the bathroom... too many dangerous ideas came flooding to his mind. "S-sorry," he stammered, turning away immediately, his face going red. "I'm clearly interrupting something here. I just wanted to make sure you, Ordan, were doing okay." A lump formed in his throat. "Seems like Eden is, uh, taking care of you, though." He forced a dry laugh, knowing the unintentional implications behind that. For some reason, he felt hurt by all this, and it was clear in his pained voice. His brain was cruel. A fantasy was playing in his head of him kissing Ordan. And it wasn't at all intolerable. "I'll just... go. Yeah."

Bringing his brown eyes to glance over Evangeline, softening eyes turning towards her own violet hues once again. She brought and held herself up, a confident yet quickly becoming a self conscious one as she explained about feeling a bit bare towards not having covered more. “Am I sure?” he echoed softly before striding up to her, he hadn’t noticed the girls after the first observation, an after thought that didn’t broach his mind again as he spotted her dainty form filling out the outfit. Standing directly in front of her, he let his eyes fall down onto the red head, breath fanning out as he prepared to form his thoughts to words, “I haven’t been so sure of something other than what I’m about to do to assure you,” he observed teasingly before quickly kissing her on the lips, “Yes, I’m sure, you look stunning,” he concluded brushing his lips on her forehead on another small kiss, “Get dressed, or do you want to find more?” he observed stepping away.

Ordan
Ordan's Suite
Ordan turned on the water in the sink and cupped it in his hands, bringing them up to his mouth to swallow down the water as there was no cup nor glass. The alpha then tilted his head underneath the faucet and sucked down some of the water to quench his thirst, using it to wipe his face and mouth in the event of any spaghetti sauce on his face. "You say that now," said Ordan. "It's better...better you don't know if you insist on believing me to be something I am not." Footsteps followed him and he lifted his head to stare at Eden's reflection in the mirror, the woman leaning in the doorway. If she knew, if the pack knew what he was, then how could they follow him or see him as a leader? No...it was better to remain closed off and not say anything, in his mind. To avoid being hurt when he found a cure and took their memories away of the pack, of being werewolves, of him. In order to protect them and himself from hurt.

Ordan, only lifting his head when Eden came into the room and pointed out to him, had anguish on his face which was reflected in the mirror. She insisted that he was not a monster and brought up the fact that he was the one searching for a cure for the pack so they could be human again and how he was an amazing person. Ordan shook his head, hearing Eden coming further into the bathroom and taking ahold of his hand, causing him to briefly drop his gaze at the action, Eden lifting his hand up and turning to face him. "A cure...I may not even be able to find a cure. We may be stuck like this forever," said Ordan. "You say I'm not a monster, that we all have pasts. I'll give you the second part in that we all have pasts, that everyone here has had a hard life before coming to Ithawell and joining the pack I sought to create so I wouldn't be lonely." Damn Eden for getting close and bringing down the walls he had been building up to try to forget.

Could Ordan even do this? Lead his pack who might hate him if he didn't find a cure? Eden assured him she would be with him no matter what, that the bond between the pack was strong enough to keep them together and that they would remain together, whether wolf or human. And what if he did what Achilles wanted and had pups with the woman? The cure might not work on them as they would be born werewolves or born vampires in Adesina's case if she ever found a mate or concubines. Pity would be felt naturally...could a bunch of humans really survive raising wolf and vampire children when they were no longer that way? If he found a cure that enabled them to go back to human, would their lifespan go back to a human with no longer having the disease of lycanthropy or...whatever disease vampires had that made them the way they were? Would they reject their children or would they love them? Would he be forced to kill them in order to protect the pups from harm?

Ordan closed his good eye, lifting a hand up to remove the eyepatch from his eye and dropping it in the sink. Opening his good eye, he stared at his reflection again as he lifted his head, the sound of the door opening reaching his ears and footsteps coming towards him, Jaehwa's voice echoing within the air of his room. The alpha turned towards Jaehwa's voice, staring at the omega in silence as he spoke of coming to check on him before growing nervous and stuttering out that Eden seemed to be taking care of him before saying he would go, apologizing as if he were at fault. The alpha internally groaned to himself...he could just picture his inner beast's reaction to Jaehwa and Eden being in his suite with him. "We were merely talking Jaehwa," said Ordan, trying to assuage whatever the omega was feeling at this moment. "Eden was attempting to assure me that I am...'not a monster'...as I...think of myself," he spoke, not sure why he was speaking of this to the omega. "I appreciate your concern though in regarding my safety. You may stay with Eden here if you wish though you're safe here as you are at home. As I said to you before at home, you can stay here," he gestured at his room, "if you feel unsafe."

Xen
Location: Custos' backyard | Interacting: Zumitri ( scorpiodragon scorpiodragon )

Arrogance. That was what prevented Xen from truly understanding what Zumitri meant by saying he'd go feral one day. That wouldn't happen to me, was all he could tell himself, but he knew better than that. Or, at the very least, was starting to see better than that. With the topic of mating, too, he curled further into himself, not wanting to have to deal with any of that already. He was too young to accept such a thing as having the possibility of interfering with his life, but there was an inkling of conceding in the back of his mind. Unable to help but agree with Zumitri, Xen pouted, proceeding to follow the doctor's example and eat the corn cob correctly.

"Then... okay." He said it so softly he'd be surprised if Zumitri could hear him. Clearing his throat and actually swallowing his food, Xen spoke up again, a little louder this time. "Okay. I may not be used to living normally, so please don't shoot me if I misbehave, but I promise to try my best." Nyle had always threatened to put a bullet in his head whenever his actions put him or others at risk. Xen merely assumed that was how being taken care of by Zumitri would be, too. "I don't know Custos enough to want to join them. I know you, though, and that makes... that makes it okay, right? You really want to, right? I won't be upset if you only just want to get rid of me right now. I would understand."

It was a sad thought, being cast away by the one person he'd spoken to in quite some time now, but Xen couldn't help himself. Needing more comfort, he returned his attention to the steak. With a few more bites, it was gone, and he was left with the... mushy stuff and bread and some sort of container that held blood? It read 'ketchup', which intrigued him to no end as he had never had this 'ketchup' before. He poured a ton into his mouth, only to gag and wind up forcing himself to swallow it. "What is that gross pasty stuff?" he asked, picking up the hamburger bun and biting into it as if it was a bread roll. This too, he thought, tasted rather odd. Different than he remembered it should, anyway.

Watching Ordan as he spoke, she internally huffed; he was a tough nut to crack, to cheer up even but she would keep trying to get him to see the lighter side of things. She was about to speak, but was interrupted by the door. Looking over towards who had entered, she saw Jae who looked like a deer in headlights, pain soon washing over his features. Her eyes widened and she quickly put a warm smile on her lips as Ordan explained what was going on. Letting go of Ordan's hand, she motioned him in with warmth in her eyes. "Yes, Ordan was having a moment of doubt and might I say, you are quite stubborn," she grunted jokingly before sitting on a chair. "I hope dinner was filling enough?" Eden turned her gaze to Jae, hoping that Jae wouldn't run off; she liked having him around, bu something seemed off about him. Why did he looked so pained to find them like he had? Maybe she wasn't the only one who held affection for the Alpha, which caused herself a bit of her own pain in her chest but she pushed it down once more; it wasn't her choice who had who as a concubine or partners and she had to accept there were probably going to be more than one person Ordan shared his affections for.

Her thoughts drifted back to what Ordan said earlier about what his wolf envisioned, causing her to bite her cheek hard; this was the exact scenario playing out. Shaking herself mentally, she kept her warm expression and waved him in.

Feeling very insecure, she looked down at her dainty and delicate-looking body before lifting them to find her violet gaze meeting his brown one. As he echoed her words back and began making his way over, her cheeks flushed brightly with a red dust. She felt his breath fan across her elegant features as he leaned down and spoke once more, a teasing tone taking over his voice. About to question what he was doing, she soon felt his lips against hers, causing her to freeze for a moment before melting into it. After a few seconds, she felt him pull away and murmur to her once more, brushing his lips against her forehead. Evangeline couldn't help but smile happily, her arms quickly looping around his waist as she hugged him quickly. "Thank you, Silas.." She squeaked out, reaching up to peck his lips. "I'll go get changed, and we can head to a store you like!" With one more peck to his lips, she pulled herself away to go and change.

Observing from up close that she had faintly grown to blushing again, his smile broadened at the thought of having that affect on the female, he hadn’t ever really wanted to make someone flustered or just flush but he thought it was a wonderful shade to contrast her hair and pale elegant tones, so he thought it brought out her essence. Lifting his brown eyes to her violet ones her quirked up a smile as she picked him on the lips, nearly yearning for a longer one before she began to speak to him, “We don’t need to go to any stores, I don’t need anything, really,” he observed as she dashed off to get dressed. Giving her room to undress, his eyes darted down to the floor before flicking briefly towards the vampire as she retreated into the dressing room to change. “I don’t even know how to shop for myself, so I think it’d be more enjoyable if you shopped for yourself, Eva,” he observed with a shrug. It was indeed true, he may enjoy things like looking at objects but he didn’t need nor want any of it, his sporting career ended when he hit ‘38’ in their olden days of baseball starting, he left it at that and just played on his off time with sports since he didn’t really stay in one place, he was still unsure of settling down because of his family. He still ran away, hunted for sport since he could always eat, and then found himself with Lichen, his new settle down movement beginning so he could grow attached to a land.

Zumitri
Custos Backyard
Zumitri watched Xen as he seemed to think things over on what he said. The teen finally spoke in the affirmative before asking Zumitri not to shoot him if he messed up and misbehaved. "I'm not going to shoot you if you misbehave," said Zumitri. "You'll be grounded to your room and at worse put on house arrest but I wouldn't shoot you." Now Ordan might shoot you if you were anywhere on his property and he thought you were a danger, he thought to himself.

"Trying your best is all I ask...and good grades in school," said Zumitri. "Do you know what grade you are in?" It would determine if he would need to arrange for tutors for homeschooling or not or if he could send the kid to school with his peers right away. Though since Xen had been bitten at seven, it seemed homeschool was more likely until he caught the kid up with education for his grade level. At least he could arrange for fun. Zumitri frowned as he heard the teen ask him if he really wanted to take him in and that he didn't know Custos enough to join them. "Of course, I wouldn't have offered if I didn't. Actually...I might have anyway," said Zumitri. As Xen looked at the ketchup and dumped some into his mouth before gagging, Zumitri laughed. "That's a first for me," he said. "Never seen anyone just dump condiments into their mouth before." He watched as Xen spoke concerning the potatoes. "Potatoes," he said. "They're a starch and are grown underground. You can make them several different ways and they provide a good meal."

Jaehwa
Location: Ordan's suite | Interacting: Ordan ( scorpiodragon scorpiodragon ), Eden ( Eliruz Eliruz )

Jaehwa had full plans to run off. Find a quiet corner where he could break down in peace. It didn't look like they were, as Ordan put it, 'merely talking', but what was he supposed to do? Doubt his alpha? Surely, Ordan wouldn't lie to him. Breathing in short, quick bursts, he turned to stand awkwardly, his hands balling into fists at his sides. Focus, he echoed in his head. Focus. Ordan was having doubts about himself. The omega wouldn't stand for that. He had to put Ordan's mental and physical health before his own. He wasn't sure if he could handle it if he didn't put all his attention in that. Too much concentration on his inner thoughts right now and he might just break down in tears.

"Oh, I read the situation wrong," Jaehwa breathed out, not making eye contact with either of them. "And the dinner was really good, Eden. I enjoyed it." There was a fierce voice in his head asking why he was being so nice to her, but he knew it wasn't to be listened to. Ignore, ignore, ignore. He had to ignore all that, even if it meant effectively shutting down and becoming a human robot. With Ordan's reminder that he could sleep here if he needed to, Jaehwa's eyes started watering up. Furiously, he blinked away the tears before they could trail down his cheeks. "Thank you for your offer, Ordan, but I think I'll be fine on my o-own."

His inner wolf would love that. No, he needed to be honest. It was what he wanted, too. To stay. To be held in Ordan's steady embrace. To whisper away sweet nothings that somehow carried the weight of the world with them. And god, why was he just now realizing it? Why now, of all the times it could've spoken up, it had to be in this moment? It wasn't even his decision; this was something Ordan could sort out if Jaehwa ever managed to inform him of his feelings. Concubines and mates; that was Ordan's decision, not his. So why did he feel the need to compete for attention when it wouldn't even matter in the long run?

Jaehwa shook his head, sweat beading along his forehead. "I lied. I'm not going to be fine. I feel sick." Honesty was a good place to start, yet it felt like he was going about it all wrong. Hell, what if he really was just reading into all this? He felt like a fool. What was he doing, clamming up like this? He needed to say something, assure Ordan that he wasn't a monster, but those words weren't leaving his lips. Hugs weren't an option, not when he was this emotionally conflicted. So he went for the next best thing: the pack bond. "You're not at all a monster, and if I have to tell you that every day I will. Know why? It's because you care. You care so deeply about all of us that you don't have enough room in your heart to love yourself, too. So we just have to love you, for you." He wanted to continue, but he felt on the verge of fainting, which definitely wasn't an encouraging sign.

Xen
Location: Custos' backyard | Interacting: Zumitri ( scorpiodragon scorpiodragon )

Listening as Zumitri told him he wouldn't shoot him even if he misbehaved, Xen's shoulders slackened with relief. That made him feel so much better than he already was. Using his fingers to scoop up the pasty stuff, which he knew now consisted of potatoes, he put it in his mouth. He swallowed and promptly stuck out his tongue. Nope, he didn't like that, either. "It's gross and mushy," he commented, lamenting about the horrible flavor and texture of this supposedly good meal provider.

Xen licked his fingers clean, deciding to finally answer the doctor's question. "No, I dunno what grade I'm in," he said sadly, guessing Zumitri would naturally be super interested in getting him a proper education, even though he himself was against the very notion of sitting in a stuffy room with a ton of other people his age. "I think I'm around fourteen, though. Maybe. I dunno when my birthday is, but I've been keeping track of the years. Sortta."

Even as Zumitri chuckled at him pouring ketchup down his throat, he couldn't help but realize he enjoyed his presence. Learning all these new little things was helping him see himself in a better light. Maybe he wasn't as despicable as he thought he was if there was someone out there willing to work with him. The thought put a slight smile on his face.

Ordan
Ordan's Suite

Ordan glanced at Eden as she said he was stubborn. "I can be," he said before looking back at Jaehwa who was just standing there watching them. As Eden questioned the omega on whether the dinner had been filling enough, she let go of his hand and turned his head towards the sink before picking his eyepatch up and then putting it back on over his right eye. Adjusting it so the eyepatch fit comfortably, the alpha turned back towards the two people that his wolf seemed to like a lot and Ordan...Ordan found himself comfortable around both. He saw Jaehwa as a friend though like with Eden was unsure if there was anything else he, not Achilles, but himself felt towards the omega.

Jaehwa turned away, hands balled into fists, and Ordan just continued looking between them. Trying to figure the situation out between them, they both seemed somewhat nervous around each other. Of course Ordan was also doing his best to keep Achilles in place within the ocean and remaining there. "The offer is always there," said Ordan. After some time, the omega replied that he lied, causing Ordan's brows to raise as he heard this. Interesting. He'd never known Jahewa to lie before. When Ordan said he wasn't going to be fine and felt like he was going to be sick, Ordan frowned and walked away from the sink, heading over to Jaehwa and putting his hand on the younger man's forehead. "Sit," Ordan said, momentarily ignoring Eden as took Jaehwa and made to guide him towards his bed. Assuming the omega let him guide him to his bed, he helped the omega sit down and listened as Ordan spoke more, the alpha sitting down and motioning Eden to come into the bedroom as he grabbed the ice pack and put it against the back of his head again to cool the throbbing and likely goose egg that would form from hitting the floor.

Jaehwa began speaking, this time focused only on him through the pack bond, telling him that he was not a monster and that he would say that every day for the rest of his life. "You're stubborn," said Ordan out loud to Jaehwa. Still, the alpha listened as Jaehwa continued, saying he knew that Ordan wasn't a monster due to Ordan caring about everyone and wanting to make sure they were all safe, how the pack would just have to keep telling him they loved him in order to make him believe it. Ordan looked from Jaehwa to Eden again and back again before sighing, moving the ice pack along his head to ease the throbbing. "And what if I do not find a cure?" Ordan questioned. "What if I find a cure? You'll want to go home, all of you, regardless of what Eden says about staying here. As for me being a monster...even if you two don't believe it..." Ordan frowned as he looked between the two again. Were they both interested in him? If so then...well this was turning out to be a weird vacation. Ordan was likely reading too much into this and imagining things that were not there. He could sense Achilles' happiness at the two people the wolf liked being within the same room as them. Granted, he could not say what their inner wolves were feeling.

"I was in my second tour of duty. Zumitri had been sent home after an IED explosion in Iraq, discharged from the army and sent to an army hospital overseas until he went home," said Ordan. "We were following information from an informant that a suspected terrorist we were hunting was located in a mountain village. Not found on any map," said Ordan. "Our sergeant leading the platoon of soldiers entered the village and we rounded up everyone within the village. Men...old men...women and children. There weren't any people of adolescence or above within the village...just innocent people. Our commanding officer questioned one of the women in their native tongue, Arabic, on where this terrorist was that we were hunting.

"When our officer didn't get any answer we were ordered to execute everyone in the village...man and animal. No prisoners could be taken alive...they were all to lose their lives."
Ordan's eye closed as he sat there on his bed next to Jaehwa, Eden possibly still in the room, the alpha exhaling and inhaling several minutes as the memories came back. "Once everything and everyone was dead...the execution order coming after a child tried escaping and running...a child no older than five to seven...we burned the houses and the crops, leaving nothing but smoldering ruins and death in our wake as we set out again. When Achilles had control for a year and a half...I was not aware of what the wolf did. But Achilles ate people...pups that our sire bred with the females who were turned and survived torture from both the enemy soldiers and our sire...as well as us males when the full moons came.

"When I finally got ahold of myself and eventually...eventually accepted Achilles, I killed willingly. Ate people...pups were used as chew toys as we didn't have anything else to do but get tortured and fight. So how can you lot trust me? How can you possibly say I'm not a monster or even follow me? Or have feelings for me?"

Zumitri chuckled as Xen tried the potatoes and said he did not like them. "There's baked potatoes, french fries, home fries, hash browns, scalloped potatoes, roasted potatoes, fried potatoes. Mashed potatoes which is why it's mushy and what you're eating right now. I guess I cooked them a bit much," he said with a shrug. As Xen said that he didn't know what grade he was in, Zumitri began thinking. "So...somewhere in early elementary probably. First or second grade," he said. "Homeschooling it is then. As for your birthday...we can always make one up with the birth year 2005 as you look around fourteen." Zumitri continued eating his food and then began stacking the dishes up, making his way into the house to wash them in the kitchen sink. Drying and putting them away, Zumitri dried his hands off on the towel he'd used to dry the dishes. "Get your clothes and give me a moment to lock up, then we'll go home," said Zumitri. "We can do your laundry at my...our...house."

As Eden had gotten up, under the impression that Jae needed some time alone with Ordan but was suddenly stopped by the Alpha. She let out a soft sigh and moved back to the chair, sitting infront of both Jae and Ordan. As he began to speak, she listened, thinking it was just going to be a war story but then it started to take a turn for the worse. She listened to every bloody, gory detail, her eyes wide with shock; a feeling of empathy and mortification washed over her but something in her still held on like an anchor in a storm. Looking between the two men, her expression softened as she remained quiet. She could tell Jae was still..nervous, was that the word? Slowly looking back at Ordan, she shook her head and began to speak.

"Now I see why you resent your wolf so much.." Eden murmured gently, having her own inner battle with hers but nothing compared to Ordan's. "Well, even if that may be the deal, you've changed; that's evident." Leaning forward and resting a hand on both mens' hands, she looked between the two. "I wasn't lying when I said the pack cares about you, through and through, Ordan. Where it seems impossible for anyone to accept what you've done, it was in a time of not knowing how to restrain yourself. You were in a completely different environment, forced to fight and be tortured, as you said." Her eyes moved to Jae's with warmth. "I think I speak for not only Jae and I, but for everyone; a past doesn't define who you are, though it does impact us in some ways, but what you do to make changes in the present is what shapes you. Your past gives you experience in what to avoid, stay away from, and to hold close." Giving their hands one last squeeze, she pulled away and stayed where she was in the chair. "I already said I'd fight tooth and claw for this pack, for Jae, for you, for Silvia. Whatever it takes, so..you don't have to build walls around us; we're not the ones you need to worry about opening up to. We're here to help you," she spoke, her inner thoughts filled with conflicting emotions but she kept it hidden with a motherly warmth and a smile angled towards both men.

Getting changed with quick inhuman speed, she walked out in her dress and smiled happily. Evangeline held her swimming suit in one hand and her purse in the other, making her way to Silas. "I don't want to spend all my money at once, darling." She teased jokingly before kissing his cheek and sliding her hand into his. "I was just about to say something to those girls over there, snickering.." Lowering her voice, she nodded towards the group of females from earlier, checking out Silas until they got caught by the violet-eyed vampire and quickly went back to what she was doing. She grumbled to herself as she made her way to the counter. The cashier scanned it, ringing it up and taking her card to swipe. Once the transaction was done, she put her card away and grabbed the bag with her swimming suit. She thanked the person behind the counter and began walking.

The young pup scrambled through the brush, a loud whimper leaving her lips as she heard the vicious growls of rogues behind her. Her legs were too short to move any faster and they were beginning to ache, but she kept pushing to the very brink of her sapped energy. Davina panted, desperately trying to find some way to escape, her wolf beginning to take over. Her human subconscious slowly slipped back into her mind while her wolf, who has yet to be named, took over.

"They're going to catch us..."

"No, they won't. I'll keep us safe; now please just be quiet!"

Mentally whimpering, Davina stayed back inside the protection of her mind until she felt a painful twist of her back left ankle. As the pup went tumbling down onto the ground, Davina was mentally thrown back into control and found herself rolling onto her side, hitting her back against an old tree. A low whine emitted from her muzzle as she heard the paw steps of the rogues grow closer and come to a stop. One of the rogues snarled and leaned down to get closer, but Davina growled pathetically and bit his nose, earning a loud yowl out of the male. Slowly, the pup pushed herself up and whipped her head back in a howl for help before trying to move past the rogues but they were too big and too strong.

After a moment of hesitation, Jaehwa let Ordan lead him to the bed. He sat down heavily, his wobbly legs grateful for the release of pressure. Knowing he was really, truly stubborn, he managed to smile when Ordan said so. That was the truth as it was, pure and simple. Instead of interjecting any further, Jaehwa allowed the alpha to continue as his heart raced in his chest. The sick, dizzying feeling that pounded in his head was slowly but surely going away, only to return moments later with Ordan's recount of his past. It wasn't anything he expected and he couldn't imagine what it must've been like, having one's inner wolf gain so much control. Jaehwa would be terrified.

Frozen with his eyes wide, Jaehwa barely registered Eden's comments afterward, too surprised. Her touch brought him back into reality, though, and for that he was thankful. He forced himself to temporarily shut off; Ordan needed him right now. As a friend. He could do that. "Eden is right," he started, meeting her gaze before lowering his eyes. "The past is in the past. And I know that doesn't make the things you did any better, and I certainly don't expect you to try and forget it all. But it's important to move on. You're not at all the same person you were. You've learned from your past. You're remorseful and you're... you're so incredible. It hurts that you can't see that yet, but I can understand why now." Although his voice started out uneven, it was starting to level back out as he calmed down, having nothing but complete and utter belief in what he was saying.

"And you know, it doesn't matter whether we find a cure or not. I'm perfectly fine right here, by your side, because we're friends. I can trust you because I know you, Ordan. You're not your wolf. You're you," Jaehwa said, hoping he was making sense. "My point is: don't let the past go completely. Accept it and move on. In any case, have what you do in the future make up for what happened. You clearly regret what happened and you want to be a better person. So be a better person. I... That's all you need in my book." He waved his hand dismissively, chest tightening again. "Don't get me wrong though; I know something like this can't happen overnight. You're going to keep blaming yourself for a while, and that's okay. But I know you're strong, Ordan. You can handle this and get through it. We're always here to help you whenever you need it. We're your pack, after all."

Not knowing what homeschooling actually was, Xen nodded his head to it anyway, finishing up the last bits of food that he wanted. He was excited at the prospect of finally getting a birthday to look forward to. Nyle had simply given him a single present on New Year's day, usually something small and insignificant, an item he usually discarded after some good use. One year, it was a box of crayons, the next, some stickers or a piece of candy. Xen had treasured that back then, but... maybe there were better things to life than a package of his favorite gum.

"Okay," Xen said, swinging his legs over the bench and standing up. He held onto his teddy's arm and went back inside, where he left the clothes on the counter. He patiently waited for Zumitri, following the doctor around like a duckling would its mother. A few things here and there caught his eyes, mostly expensive stuff that he very clearly wanted to touch, but he managed to keep his hands off.

Eveleen listened as Sienna told her about her first master. "He sounds terrible," she agreed, her heart heavy. "I'm sorry you must've suffered in such a way." The waves crashed against the back of her legs now that she was turned away from the sea. It was probably dangerous this way, she supposed, and she wound up rotating back to face the ocean. "Let's forget our past. It'll do us no good. We have new masters to please." She crouched down, letting her dress get soaked as the next wave came in, her hands digging up some sand. With the small pebbles grasped in her hands, she opened her fingers, letting them fall in between the cracks. "I think I've forgotten what to do at a beach," she commented loosely, tilting her head.

Having their hands grasped together, he entwines his fingers with her briefly before walking with smooth strides before slipping his free arm over her shoulders as she stood still at the cashier. Flicking his brown hues over the violet eyed girl as he observed her statements, and comments toward the women near the front. Looking over his shoulder briefly, he leaned down and kissed at her cheek before giving her some space to handle the cashier and purchasing the swimsuit. “Let them snicker then, because we don’t need to know about them,” he observed. Turning away from her he pocketed his other hands as she went in and handled the purchase.

Bringing gray eyes up, the ashen tanned female raised a hand up to her mouth, keys in hand the gray eyes woman was left leaning against a car in the Boreal territory. The beta was waiting for something, she had long given up on digging it out of her mind so she merely leaned against the vehicle while her nose started to pick up the calming and familiar scents aligned with the pack’s homeland and territory. The natural predator leaned her head to the side, her eyes tracing over the scene set before her. Lifting her eyes to the sky she observed the drifting clouds, scuffing her sandals on the ground casually as she kept her back to the vehicle. Well, she was relaxing until something echoed around catching her diligent ears attention.

The usually lazy vampire lifted her head up at the noise, eyebrow arching, “ugh, wolves are so persistent. I swear, wink at one and they expect a relationship,” she muttered teasingly to herself, she was aware that no one was exactly around to listen to her muttering so as quick as she could she was up and off with a set of car keys being tucked in her back pocket. Her sandals would be a mess but it didn’t matter, she had a bit of yowling pups to whip into shape—oh look at her monologue, already calling others ‘pups’. She chuckled at the thought, her gray eyes relaxing before she slipped down to a slow before she stopped by a tree.

Screeching to a halt, she peaked around a tree just in time, eyes picking out the forms of a few wolves. They were pretty big yet scrawny—rogues, yuck. Stepping out from behind a tree, she noted a thud sounding as she did so. Leaning against it, her hair nearly got caught in the tree bark before she leaned her head the other way. By the time her hues flickered down towards the trunk, a smaller version and different color of the wolves, quite odd but adorable in some way or another. Bringing her eyes back up, her brow arched as the pair of rogues snarled. “Whoa, so you’re all bark and no bite? It’d be easy then, head off Boreal and we will be all good—yeah? Yeah!” she snarkily chimed in. “Oh my, what a tiny thing you are,” she observed looking back down to the pup. She was in a less than chipper mood, or she said she was at least, her gray eyes softening at the crumpled figure. “For a couple taking care of you pup, might I give some advice—you should give the thing up for adoption. You two are the worse couple and they shouldn’t pay for your frustrations as a pair of delusional and soon to be divorced couple!” she finished. Maybe if she acted crazy they’d bounce, she was annoyed they didn’t have the decency to give the pack some space.

The small pup heard a noise, her eyes snapping up to find a woman with a weird scent radiating off of her; Davina's nose wrinkled and a whine left her lips, her jowls pulling back in a snarl once again as one of the scrawny rogues snapped at her again. Davina shoved herself against the trunk of the tree, fear in her bright golden eyes. The pair of rogues quickly whipped around to find the Boreal Beta, their eyes narrowing; they really didn't care about the pup, it was just another nuisance that they'd come across. With a snap and growl towards the female vampire, the two rogues ran off, leaving the injured pup behind. Finally feeling safe enough, Davina shifted, a pained cry leaving her lips before she was left in her small human form, tears running down her bloody cheeks. Her small body was covered in bruises and scratches, a few smaller gashes lining her back. Her eyes widened and she realized the woman was still there; with quick movements, she scrambled back, clinging to her shirt.

"P-Please don't come near me; I don't wanna get hurt anymore.." the pup whimpered, her blue optics filled with fear of being roughed up again. Her long brown locks trickled down in ratty tresses as she leaned her cheek against the rough tree trunk, more tears spilling from her eyes as she began to cry.

Evangeline just nodded, swallowing her insecurities once again, her eyes flickering around the shopping outlet; she really wanted to look around, but then again, she wanted to go home and lay down until night so she could go swimming. Lazily swinging their intertwined hands, she let out a soft yawn and rubbed her eyes with her other hand. "I don't understand how humans feel so awake during the day; being out is so exhausting." She mumbled, leaning her head against her partner's shoulder and closing her violet eyes for a moment. She had so many questions about humans but didn't really feel like asking any because she felt like she'd sound somewhat idiotic. Her eyes opened once more and began studying the place around her that was bustling with humans..blood..thirst. Stopping and standing there stiffly, she could feel her canines beginning to lengthen and her hand began to tighten in Silas'. "I need to get away from here; throat..is burning. Haven't fed.." She croaked out and fought against her hunger for blood, not knowing how long she could hold it.

Furrowing her brow, Sienna watched the female turn towards the ocean and speak about not knowing what to do at the beach. A sly smile lit the slave's lips and she let out a quiet snicker, putting her hands into the water and swiping upwards. This sent a playful wave of water splashing into Eve's side, a laugh leaving Sienna's lips. Her eyes held a playful glint as she splashed her once more before trying to move through the waves of the ocean to evade Eve's splash if she decided to splash her back. "Gotcha!"

Watching the pair send out rather harsh growls she tilted her chin up defiantly as they started to leave, hands on her hips briefly as her gray eyes flickered with confidence. She was fully fed, so compared to the beastly jaws of werewolves she would end up alright, if she had fought them. Turning on her heel, she looked down to what appeared to be the shifting child. It looked painful, another reason why she preferred to be a vampire rather than a wolf that had to break itself to have a little fun. It was gruesome, but she did admire their aging qualities and ability to eat regular food. Harper was usually one to enjoy her life style but as she looked over the injured child, she remembered how she was before the mess she was currently. Harper had been the shy nerd, oddly enough dying really did change her to some extent.

Hurt you—why would I do that? You haven’t gone and eaten any of my food, so there is no reason to,” she observed with a shrug and a teasing glint in her optics. Striding towards the girl, Harper looked her over, “What happened?” the child had obviously been hurt, and that humane side of her itched for her to check and see what happened. Letting out an exhale, Harper observed the girl with open curiosity, she wouldn’t touch her, no. She knew what it was like, being hurt and unsure, she felt similar when she had been bitten and turned, well until she began to enjoy it. “Speaking of food, you look starved, what do you say—join me and I’ll feed you some grub,” she concluded crouching down. Her humor was to lighten the situation the child was in, she wouldn’t exactly leave her the roam alone in the territory and if she joined it’d be an easy fix to the problem. The baby, Nisha, she was young and apart of the pack, maybe it’d be better to see if she wanted to be a new addition. “I had a little sister, you remind me of her, haven talked to you too much, but you look like her,” she informed with a nod of her head.

Smiling softly, he glanced around the shopping district, his hues observing the people lingering about. When Evangeline mentioned how humans were strange for staying awake during the day, “They are scared of the dark,” he commented dryly, it was partially correct. He knew humans grew up on the horror stories of the monsters hiding under their beds during the night, but as he quickly shrugged that off he turned to view Evangeline stiffen. Glancing down at her as he felt her hand curl around his tighter, he arched a brow at her sudden rigid motion. When she stated that she was hungry and currently unfed, he looked down before nodding. Being around a lot of people when hungry was a very bad mistake. “I should have asked about that before offering to take you out,” he murmured. He had forgotten about how the hunger makes someone, he fed in large quantities so he never had the problem of being hungry. “Do you need to eat? I’m sure I can find you someone—or do you just want to go back to the Villa?” he whispered softly in her ear as he guided her towards the way they came.

The small child whimpered loudly as the female mover closer, her blue optics wide with fear; it was obvious whatever happened was not long ago. There was a fresh bit wound on her arm that she seemed to cradle. Her eyes slowly flickered towards the female as she spoke, asking why would the female hurt her, making a joke the child didn't understand. Then she asked what happened, which caused the child to sniffle and move her good arm to reveal a bitemark from a werewolf. "B-Big doggy bit me, n-n-now I have strange voice in my head, saying she's my wolf," Davina stammered, "then those mean dogs..I-I mean wolves knocked me out. I-I-I woke up a wolf.."

Covering the bite protectively once more, she brought her good hand up and wiped her tears again. Her eyes lowered down to look at the ground; why was she confiding in a strange woman that just showed up? As soon as food was mentioned, her stomach let out a low rumble and her gaze flickered up immediately. "I haven't eaten in so long.." In all reality, she should've been starved to death but her wolf half was keeping her alive.

Eva quit breathing in so she could contain herself in public, her eyes flickering between the people, so many people to feed off of. Clutching onto his hand and growling under her breath, she shook her head. "I have bloodbags a-at the villa," she whispered back, her lips pressed together tightly. Once they were out of the sight of humans, she breathed out in a heavy breath. Her throat began to burn horribly, causing her to let out a hiss and she quickly picked up the pace. "I hate the memories that I get, so I collect blood in bags. We have a medical wing in our house, so our volunteer blood givers can give blood in blood bags." Evangeline explained, her voice horribly strained.

Ordan
Ordan's Suite
Both wolves that Achilles seemed to enjoy being in the presence of the most out of all the pack members, listened to Eden speak. Once again, like she had been doing for the past...however many minutes, she reiterated that Ordan was not a monster and had no control over what had happened within his past. Saying how she could see now why Ordan hated Achilles, the alpha snorted to himself. That was a understatement though he currently hated Achilles due to the wolf's earlier words which only Eden knew. He dreaded Jaehwa finding out about what Achilles thought of this situation the trio were currently in, he'd probably cause the poor omega to go into shock or suffer a heart attack. He was surprised that she could still like him after everything he had said, Ordan not mentioning how he had grown used to human flesh in that time nor how much both wolf and man savored the chase and hunt of animal or human trying to run and begging for their lives. Eden took both his hand and Jaehwa's which was a surprise to the alpha and looking at Jaehwa, it seemed it surprised the omega as well for though the touch didn't last, the woman smiled at them both as if she knew everything and could make everything right in the world or at least among the three of them. "I wish I had your confidence," said Ordan to Eden as she finished speaking.

However, Jaehwa spoke up soon after Eden had finished. Like Eden, he reiterated that they were all here for Ordan and that he needed to let go of his past. An easier thing said than done in Ordan's opinion. He spoke of recognizing that Ordan wouldn't get over his past overnight but that he had to do so eventually in order to grow, albeit not in so many words, but the meaning was there. The omega waved his hand dismissively, cutting off whatever he had been about to say before continuing on that he, too, would stay with Ordan even if a cure was not found and he had to have more faith in his pack, that his pack was here to help him and that he was a good leader and everyone trusted him. Ordan did not understand their faith in him, or really any of the pack's faith in him. "This is going to take time to process and accept," said Ordan at last. "As Jaehwa stated, this guilt isn't going to change overnight. I don't really get why you two would choose to stay here with me, if a cure is found...or really why anyone would. The point of the cure is to make you...us...the pack...human again and send you on your way as humans so you can go back to your families and previous lives." Apparently he would have to take their memories away when the time came. Ordna sighed as he looked them over. "But...perhaps on this vacation I can learn to let go somewhat and look to a possible future where I am not...haunted by my actions."

Good, at least he wouldn't need to worry about the teenager burning himself on the grill even though he had turned the vents off and the fire had died down. Seeing the teen looking at some of the expensive stuff out of the corner of his eye, Zumitri watched him, the teen having gone to retrieve his clothing from the bathroom while Zumitri did the dishes and cleaned up. Leading Xen outside, he turned and locked the door with a spare key Ordan had given him when building the house. "Guess you won't be learning to drive at sixteen without an education," said Zumitri as he pointed to the passenger door and indicated the teen get into the car. Unfortunately as Zumitri got into the car, he frowned as she saw a small pup in his car that had apparently gotten out a donut he'd forgotten about buying from Wet Earth cafe that day before coming to the house. "Hey! What are you doing in my car?" he questioned.

Eden listened, her brow furrowing; it seemed Jae agreed with her, which seemed to confuse Ordan a bit in why both Jae and Eden said they'd stay, as would the pack. As Ordan said he wished he had her confidence and spoke of how it'd need time to accept and get over his past, she smiled warmly, her gaze flickering between the two. "It will definitely be a fight to accept, but that's why we're here; we have your back.
