Am I the only who believes that an OOC should strictly adhere to only having content relating to the rp? Cuz as far as I can see, I see a bunch of conversations that should either be saved for PM's or a discussion thread. It's ridiculous, 922 pages and how much of it is actually about the RP? I get paranoid getting on the OOC cuz my phone severely slows down and I'm afraid it's going to crash due to this threads large size.

I don't see why. The overwhelming majority of the OOC is related to the rp but there's no harm in talking about other things. I mean it's "out of character" chat, nowhere does that require everything be RP related.

I mean, unless IC activity would pick up. In which case hell yeah let's limit OOC.

That is most definitely not happening. And I can tell you that because as the community vote I held proved, nobody else has that problem. The page is the same regardless, just maybe one more link, which is most definitely not somehting that can crash a phone

Time and time again my phone has only slowed down only this thread everytime I access it, try to type and post in it. You can believe what you want to believe, but I'm literally holding the damn evidence in my hands, seeing it with my own eyes, where as you have no proof that my phone doesn't behave like that, and thusly have no standing to say "that is most definitely not happening" where based on what I am seeing "it most definitely is happening" and I've been on multiple other threads, even been on my pms that break past a thousand pages, it is only here where it slows down.

I am not saying that is not happening, I am saying the size of the thread is not what the issue is, because the size of the thread is the same for everybody yet you are the only one with that problem

The point being made is that the issue is unique to you and thus on your end. It has nothing to do with the site, or the type of chat going on in OOC, or even the number of pages in a thread. There's something wrong with your phone and how your phone's browser decides to read web pages. So while we can empathize with your problem, there's nothing we can do about it. Restricting our ability to socialize wont fix your phone.

The point being made is that the issue is unique to you and thus on your end. It has nothing to do with the site, or the type of chat going on in OOC, or even the number of pages in a thread. There's something wrong with your phone and how your phone's browser decides to read web pages. So while we can empathize with your problem, there's nothing we can do about it. Restricting our ability to socialize wont fix your phone.

If it was on my phones end then it would be behaving like this with every single thread which it is not, it is only with this thread.

GIFs can hurt slow phones, for sure

Then it's truly a mystery and all the more reason we can't help you. Only possible explanation is what Bandit said and the images are slowing you down. Do you get these same problems in other image-heavy threads?

No not really, I frequent many art threads due to being an artist myself and those are image heavy, they don't slow down my phone at all

Because you say you've been in threads over a thousand pages without issue.So the size of the thread can't be the problem. You say you go to image-heavy threads without issue, so picture spam can't be the issue. Unless the cause can be figured out there's not much we can do for you.

I'm not asking for any form of compensation, I'm merely asking that people try to use the OOC for its original intended purpose, to discuss things related to the rp outside of the IC. It is after all abbreviated for (Out Of Character) which my interpretation means it still has to relate to rp in some form or another.

Yeah but what does that do other than restrict our ability to socialize with one another? Wouldn't solve your phone lag issue.

To me it would reduce the probability of my phone behaving irregularly. Because my fear is that the OOC will get larger and literally make it impossible for me to access without something crashing whether it's the web app or my phone. The growth of the OOC is an inevitability, so instead I'd like to prolong that plausibility for as long as I can. In the beginning back when I first joined my phone didn't behave like this in the OOC, as it grew it started to slow, and now at its size it slows down to where I have to wait a while for even the post to post and sometimes it isn't successful and I have to press post reply again.

But you just said you've been in threads over a thousand pages without any issue whatsoever. So this thread growing larger shouldn't matter since you've already proven the size of the thread isn't what's causing your issues.

The size of this thread in particular is, as I stated over time as this thread grew my phone slowed, that correlation was made evident to me. This thread in itself is a unique case in that regard, why it is happening is beyond me, maybe I didn't throw salt over my shoulder to get rid of the bad luck snail and this was the curse given to me. Either way it is only here, I'd let it be but unfortunately I'm tagged here for things related to the rp that I'm obligated to answer, such as maybe I forgot to put the time or my post wasn't long enough, I have to see those otherwise I'm staying within the parameters of the rp. Would I like another another Method of being notified? Yeah I'd like that but I'm not gonna make anyone do it. Have I seen solutions or workarounds for such a thing? Yeah I have, the most common being the GM of the other rp's I've been in simply makes a second OOC.

I'd suggest you PM a site admin and bring your problem to their attention. As I've said, there's nothing we can do. Restricting our ability to socialize wont solve your problem. Wont even delay it since the majority of what's said here is RP-related. So no matter what the thread will continue to grow, so a permanent solution is required and that requires you to work it out with the site admins since this problem is unique to you. You have your phone, they have the site code, they might be able to do something we can't.
