Morning! :)

Not particularly true. Just belonging to a particular genre or vaguely reassembling something else can often be enough for a show to be throw out the window. And I'm not saying there aren't poorly, VERY poorly written stuff out there nowadays and very formulaic too. But if we atributed this lack of popularity to the lack of writing quality we'd be forgetting how senseless it is to say something is bad because it has a formula. Formulas work for a reason and understanding that reason and refining is as much of an art piece as any other in the same genre. It's the same kind of thing as the normal inspiration, only applied to structure.

And yes, many great shows will get aclaimed but the problem is not that none do, but that not nearly enough do and many get shat on before people even think about the actual writing. This is because writing is hardly our real criteria now. We confused how we feel about something with what is actually there. So no wonder many great shows have this different art style or adapt some hyped sourced material.

My main complaint and the thing I get worked up about the most is that a show being good is no grounds to milk it like beaitng a dead horse and then go and call anything with ok writing shit. It's hypocritical to say companies are milking formulas when at least the people working there have the decency to make some variation and productiveness out of it instead of using it for the sole sake of sounding superior and often ruining the experience for others. If people are going up to newbies and telling them "go watch the best thing out there first" and then they go and see "oh everything else is worthless now" because everyone else is telling them that the cycle is perpetuated.

I understand, but at the same time I don't. It's annoying to priase good shows, but that's pretty much how great shows get discovered. Without advertisement things like DBZ, BHA, Naruto, etc. Wouldn't be famous. That's also a big reason why some shows won't get the recognition that it might deserve. Everyone else would be to focused on watching the popular stuff. I do understand that feeling however, not many people consider Durarara to be a great show...As Far as ok shows getting crapped on. I generally find that people don't care about those shows and just ignore them. I don't really notice that people will straight not watch an anime because another one is better, so I can't really comment on that.
Ghost in the Shell was ok, the original fate/stay was quite subpar. Honestly by bigger feud with ghost in the shell has to do with people bashing the movie, which wasn't great but having seen the the original literal hours before the other one quality wise they were not that different, just set on different stages.

Ghost in shell is one of my favorites, oh well I suppose. People always say half the stuff I like is overrated. But the live action wasn't anywhere near the original quality wise. I'll hold onto that statement till the day I die. The original was a masterpiece in my opinion. Also, I'm more talking about fate/zero than anything else.

Again, there is nothing wrong with praising good shows, heck just liking a show is good enough reason to praise it, it just personally annoys me if they are the only ones being praised. I personally don't feel inclined to spending weeks watching one piece or Jojo, but I don't think there is anything wrong with people liking those things or thinking they are good. Yte too often I see shows with some genuily clever writing and effort, and sure, many of those are overall meh shows yet I hardly see that as a reason to say "oh anime is dying and losing all it's quality".
It isn't. The bar is just being set too high with a ruler whose numbers are in some alien language.

Well, there is a reason I said "fate/stay night" and not "the fate series"

Eh....I would say that we have a lot of overtly harsh critic's thanks to the rise of the internet....as a whole I don't think everyone goes into a new anime expecting it to be a 10/10 masterpiece. Then again I don't frequent Reddit; Besides, people that say anime is dying probably never honestly liked anime or are clouded in nostalgia. Also, seeing the same shows being showered in praise while (Durarara) other anime's stay in the shadows is hard, but just try to understand it's equally annoying for a fan of the more famous programs to constantly hear that niche anime is automatically better because it's lesser known.

I suppose I can't fault for not watching marathon anime's, but I personally would at least try those shows. Seeing something getting praised annoyingly is even more aggravating when you don't know/haven't watched the source material. Of course, watching 800+ fucking episodes of a show or some crazy number like that is the reason I haven't watched many shounen's.

Haven't watched or played the original, but I think most people would say that it's not up to par with the later titles in the series. At least, that's what I've heard.

BriiAngelic BriiAngelic

I know you like persona so......

Haven't played 4 so I'm wondering if it's worth it buy a PSP solely to buy the game. should I go for it?
That's a really loaded questionnnnnnn
I mean I liked it and bought a vita just for golden but that doesn't necessarily mean that everyone would. I'd recommend looking up at least the first dungeon worth of a let's play before making your choice. If you like turn based strategy it's a good one but it's also a good deal of free events and balancing of time.

Yeah I love turn based Rpgs, how different is it from 5?

Umm well it has the same type of feel but it's a step back since it was the prequel of ten years ago. There aren't set dungeon layouts. There are fewer things to do, maxing out socials is harder and they don't give special skills outside of your party members. Each Persona series has a different overall Lore though.

Yes, that's true, though I never once said that?

yeah I heard that. Another reason for it to be so confusing to me why people even still talk about it like they would fate/zero

Sonetimes I feel pretty straight, but then I see a good booty shot of Midoriya and . . .
LEMME SMASH
