Not gonna lie, if I saw a cute kemonomimi girl with a fluffy tail like that walking by, I might actually do that

Anime Protag Stance on Woman:

Anime protagonists a few years ago- crippling depression and you will help make it even more crippling

Anime protagonists until very recently- total pussies

New anime protagonist- You want equality? Then I''ll bea and fondle the living shit out of you like a man

Implying new anime protags aren't still total pussies.

True. Though she has basically all of the qualities of my dream wife...

Best part is it's totally legal to bone her cuz she old as fuck. Even comes with adult form if you aint into lolis. Truly a versatile woman.

Anyway peeps, going to get some rest. As much as I was trying to push to get those updates done, the ideas just aren't coming...

So I'll once again see if the morning will help. Anyone who offers suggestions for common items for the money shop or packs for the QEP shop, thank you!

See ya

They aren't. That's not the new style. But even in a new building there is always gonna be that one sour grampa clinging to the old days

I have watched anime for a long time. A long long time. And while once protags were manly men they devolved into pussy boys. And pussy boys they remain to this very day. Now sure, you get some outliers like Kazuma who are beacons in the bleak darkness. But alas, the majority of protags are beta bitchboys who man up once during the final fight only to immediately shrink back into the quivering stammering mess as soon as the threat has passed.

I have no idea what anime you're watching then--
The last pussyboy I watched was Yuki from Mirrai Nikki, and he ascended.

Depends on the genre but for the most part MCs all follow the same general traits. Like Shonen MCs are little bitchboys when it comes to women, but they'll man up when it comes to a fight. Whereas harem MCs are little bitchboys when it comes to fucking everything, but they'll man up when it comes time to save their women. But the one unifying trait is they're all submissive little boys, and their little moments of manliness doesn't change that.

Ah I know what you're talking about now. Yeah in the past the guys were super charming and stuff, but then they decided to change it into making them super clumsy when it comes to women. I think this change was talked about in a video I watched called "The Manly Man Trope". Wasn't the main focus, but it did mention how things changed.

Not everyone is gonna be ultra manly all the time, I do agree that a lot of male protagonists need more backbone though. But I get tired of people complaining about characters like Shinji from NGA or Armin from AoT.

It's not specifically about women. In general they're submissive. The single most common trope for an MC is him sitting in the back row by the window saying how he wishes his peaceful days would continue only to have plot crash into him. They only stand up for themselves when the plot demands it and any other time they're just meek little puppies to walk all over.

Yeah, that's really annoying. One of the main reasons why I don't like harem's or ecchi is because the main characters are spineless. Characters like that aren't really "characters", just there for viewers to imagine themselves as the protagonist. Nothing more

Sadly it's not limited to harem or ecchi. It's most pronounced there, but it's not limited to there. I mean, since this is a BNHA rp take Deku. Submissive, weak, stammering all the time. He mans up when the plot demands him to but he's still everything I've described. The difference between shonen protags and harem protags is shonen protags have a drive for something whereas harem protags want to enjoy peaceful everyday life. However outside of that difference they're still largely the same spineless little simps that only ever man up when the plot demands it.

I give Deku a pass, considering his circumstances, not having a quirk, being bullied by Bakugou his whole life, getting thrust into life as a hero. It makes sense for him to be shy and submissive, not only that, but as of season 2 he's been shedding that "generic spineless shounen protag" moniker. His advice to Shouto during the UA tournament, fighting stain, etc. He's growing out of that box. Deku FEELS like a character that's living and breathing, he's not simply an unfortunate passenger to life's twists and turns. He's actively growing with his experiences. I can NOT say the same about other spineless protagonists for the most part.
