BloodLines

Antje shook her head.

"No, Luke... They really think something in my blood will make me change more..." she sighed, shivering. She put her head on his neck/shoulder, wishing the whole night had never happened.

My father's coming, you really have to go!

Klause was really close, and the blood in the snow chilled his heart. Oh, if they weren't dead he'd kill them so slowly that they'd wish they were. He couldn't make sense of where she'd be, there were circles of trails of blood. He found the sweater. He finally thought he'd found the right trail. "Antjechen?" he called softly. His steps were slow and cautious. He saw bodies, they were just cooling. He got closer and he could see places where she'd fallen. He finally saw her and he barely reacted to the shirtless man holding her tightly. She was pale, and shivering. She had blood pouring from her chest and legs, despite ripped bandages from a tshirt. He couldn't speak for a moment, he was busy trying to survey her wounds. Goddammit where was Cora?!

He screamed for her in his head, furious. "How did this happen?" he murmured, finally addressing Lucifer. Of course he recognized him, but he had more important things to worry about. He'd changed much. His hair was short and razored almost like Antje's. His eyes had lost their burnt red color, and the look on his face mirrored the same concern that his held.

“tch, you happened.” He hissed. “If you think marring her to some Darkling will keep her safe, you got another thing coming. She’s just going to turn into a blood slave for my father and his first demon offspring. I have no idea which family that ass hole came from, but I can guarantee he’s not going home.” Did Antje pass out?

“I can’t help her… I tried to get to her before they got her, but I was too far away. I should have done the ceremony sooner. I would have been able to reach her in time.” Why did he give her so long to think about it? “I will have to hand her over to let her live, but as soon as I know she will be ok, I will be back for her.” He was just starting to get mad all over again. Narrowing his eyes at Antje’s father he barred his teeth at him. “She needs warmth… I am no help, I don’t have human heat. These three joker’s bodies need to get taken somewhere else before people see them.”

Her father scowled. "EXCUSE ME, BOY?" he was very scary when he wanted to be. "I know NOTHING of this. Where did it ccome from because there was NEVER publicly announced, let alone chartered by the Magics! Never!" He angrily opened a link and threw the information and truth at him promptly. The three bodies would be taken care of by Anton.

"And why did you save her?" he asked sternly. He got a strange feeling from him.

Antje had fallen into sweet, painless unconsciousness. She could still hear everything...

He was slightly startled by the sudden reaction, not what he thought was going to happen. He at first rejected the link her father had put out towards him, but then he accepted and listened. The information came with as much truth as this guy could possibly muster. The only things Lucifer could send to make her father believe him was possibly his feelings for Antje. He also for extra measures sent his feeling of wanting to foil any plans his father would make, just out of spit.

Standing up, Lucifer walked over to Klause and handed him Antje. “We should go then. I suppose you should lead the way.” He said simply.

Antje had been right about her treatment. She would need to bathe in blood for a few hours, not really moving, concentrating on getting better. Lucifer hadn't left her side the entire time, and he held her hand while she impatiently waited. His guardian proposal would need to wait until she had more blood for it to work. Her father had been cordial to him, allowing him to stay with her. She sat in the huge white tub, naked but hidden up to her chest. She hadn't known that Tante had a secret bathroom in the basement, or enough blood to allow a bath. Maybe it was for emergencies.

Antje was a little embarrassed by her nakedness, but she wondered if he even cared that way.

They'll allow you to be my guardian...And they won't tell... Thank you, for saving me...

Antje closed her eyes while talking to him. It was easier to link because it was more private for them, and Antje found it easier than speaking outloud.

They are… I think they want you to try and finish school. After that I think they are going to allow me to take you elsewhere. He said to her. I can’t stay to much longer Antje. The death of Alistair won’t go unnoticed for too long. You might not even get to finish school. Not that I really think you want to go back, nor do I want you too.

Hours before Lucifer was talking with her father and mother. They were extremely curious how the rogue Lancaster came to be the way he had. How he came to run into Antje and protect her the way he has. It took a bit of convincing to let them know he hasn’t once touched her blood. In truth he is way too afraid to touch her blood. He does not want to get drunk off power. He even asked if he could borrow books on Dhampires, explaining how she kind of brain washed him one time. Talking with her parents was not as bad and Lucifer thought it would be, he thought he would be fighting for his life, instead he has felt more at home then he did under his own roof.

Don’t worry…
He said to her. On to a lighter subject. You should choose what you want to put on my skin. It could be your family crest. Maybe even a crest you want later in life. It could be anything you want. I have no choice but to wear it after all.

Antje thought for a moment. Maybe she would have him get the design on the swallows like the necklaces. Her crest could wait; he'd have to get it somewhere visible, but also not noticable. Maybe a simple A in pretty scroll would work. She smiled to think he'd somehow be more attractive to her with tattoos. She pitched the simple A to him.

As long as I'm with you, I don't care where we go. My parents would want to find us places to go so that they would know where I am until we solve the false suitor thing. I just wanna get out of this stupid tub. She scowled. She wanted to sleep, but she didn't want Lucifer to go. For the time being, his place was probably the safest, and her parents would want her moved there as quickly as possible. She felt guilty that she would be pushed into his space, that he'd have to change everything for her.

He laughed, he chest also swelled and he squeezed her hands gently, Hold your horses, we’ll get to my place when we do, right now you need to take your time a heal. I like the swallow idea though. Where do you want to carve it? My chest or shoulder would be the places I would prefer. He said quietly in her mind, caressing the top of her hand. He sensed someone outside the door, they were checking on her.

I at least I don’t have to worry about finding the money to get you across the world anymore, but don’t tell your parents, I plan on flying somewhere they requires a connecting flight, and then not getting on the next flight. I want no one to know where we are. That was not even your parents can track us if forced to. I have a feeling you won’t like that idea very much though.
He looked up at the door way. He got nervous with any approaching Antje in such a weak state.

Antje nodded. I sort of guessed as much... It's actually a good idea. I just hate this, though. I mean, I hate blood. But I have to sit in a tub full of it, naked, and wait to heal. Pretty sure I won't be thirsty ever again. Her father and mother entered quietly, and immediately they decided that they were making the best decision for their daughter for letting this man guard her. He was still at her side, holding her hand, comforting her. He seemed devoted by choice. Her father hadn't told her mother everything Lucifer had told him, specifically his feelings for Antje. Cora would not be killed, by them at least. The bodies were taken care of, and the mess cleaned up; the Magics worked fast. They nodded their goodbyes to them, and soon they walked away and departed for the castle, where they would find places they could send Antje to keep her safe. They would need to have an audience with some magics to help them really decide. Antje sighed a breath of relief when they were gone. Maybe she could get out of the tub sooner with them gone. All she wanted to do was cuddle Lucifer and feel safe in his arms.

You will always be Thirsty Antje, Lucifer joked as he looked up at her parents when they entered the room. I have no idea how I am going to feed you while you are with me, besides hunt for you. You will no longer have the accessibility of a blood bank. Watching her parents he noticed they just stared between him and her. They really were worried about her, he wondered if she saw this. I would love to have parents like yours. He said, flashing her the sight he just took in.

Before they left, Lucifer stood up, “Wait… do the Magic know where I am? Or am I your family’s secret only?” he asked. He had no idea the Magic’s stance on his disappeared, he did however know they rogue vampires were not tolerable because they caused more problems than Rogue werewolves.

"No one will be notified yet. If they are, it would only be Anton, and they'd hate to bring you back, because then Antje wouldn't be safe, which is their main responsibility." her father said. The Magics completely sympathized with him, they could see why he would want to leave. Knowledge of his whereabouts would certainly hold power on the rest of his miserable family, especially since the Magics very much wanted the Anselms to rule for the next five centuries instead of the Lancaster family.

Antje tried to sit up a bit and maybe climb out of the tub, but she would need help for that to happen. Jeez, Lucifer would have to see her naked. Fun. But she doubted he would say a thing to that. God, she'd have to hunt, or be taught how to hunt. She didn't want to hurt or seduce anyone.

Can I get out soon? The answer was probably no, but she would ask anyway. If she focused really hard she could heal a bit faster. She could get out of the tub without a single drop on her as the blood would seek her wounds to heal them.

“Hate to bring me back my ass. They probably think I am scheming something.” He hissed. He did not care for the Magic as much as his father. He just wanted to be left alone, well with Antje. Stay put till your parents leave, He told her.

As promised, when they left the house, Lucifer helped Antje out of the bath tub. Trying not to make her feel uncomfortable, he looked away a bit while wrapping her in a towel.
Do you want to say bye to your caretaker before we leave? She will be killed, be it be by the Magic or my father. Once she was dressed, and a case of clothing was prepared and she said bye to anyone she wanted, Lucifer wrapped her in a buddle of cloths and carried the suitcase under her. In a second suit case he had all the books he could manage to carry with him.

He wasted no time getting home. When he got home he sat Antje on his bed and put the blankets over her some more. He was tired, mostly from raging and worrying. “I’ll get candles tomorrow. I don’t have running electricity here so I can’t get night lights. But I’ll get a light source so you are more comfortable.” He hung over her a bit longer then necessary, a little lost in thought. He should probably prepare a bed on the floor for himself. Reaching over Antje for a pillow he threw it on the floor.

Antje frowned and pulled him gently onto the bed next to her. "You can sleep in the bed, too. It's your bed..." when she saw his eyes in the dark she pouted. "Just make me feel better about this, please?" she whispered softly. As much as it probably felt like he was being inappropriate, if she was going to be staying there, then he wouldn't be uncomfortable. She was still shaky from everything, and she didn't know where to begin to try and relax.

"At least lay with me until I fall asleep? Please?" she sounded like a little kid, jeez.

Lucifer smiled, she was really out of it. So was he. Sighing loudly he made it seem like he really didn’t want to, but he will because she asked nicely. Gently pushing Antje over, Lucifer got into bed with her and then held her tight. He closed his own eyes moments later and fell asleep, exhausted.

When he woke up, Antje was practically lying on top of him; his internal clock was telling him it was mid afternoon. Leaning down he tried to pull one of the new books off the floor without waking her up. Picking one of the books, he didn’t care which one; he opened it and began to read. He almost felt like he was getting a cat. Like right now he was reading on how to properly take care of his new kitten. He laughed out loud and then opened the book.

Antje’s heart beat always threw him off, especially when it stopped. She probably didn’t know but it stopped more often when she was sleeping. He continue to read while she slept, wondering when he will have time to hunt or when they will leave.

Antje stayed nuzzled to him, her arms wrapped around him in a gentle squeeze. She hadn't been lying when she'd said she sleep-spooned, but that wasn't too important. As long as she kept her legs from tangling themselves to his then nothing awkward or inapropriate would happen. She liked how safe she felt, which was probably why she was able to stay asleep for so long without anxiety drawing her out of her slumber. She was still very weak, and while she had no scars to be found, her chest still ached, like a fantom wound. She was warm and comfortable, and she'd probably hold him until she woke up.

The book Lucifer was reading was an anthology written by the Magics, documenting every known dhampire case and it's progressive symptoms. Some matched what he already knew about Antje, while some seemed alien to him. Some explanations bordered his experiences with Antje, but she was somehow quite different from all of them, never once matching any other documented dhampire.

Her fangs would probably grow a little. Never large and powerful, like his, but they would do for hunting. God, teaching her to hunt would be scary. Especially knowing she'd need so much more blood than he did, there would certainly be casualties. Her heart could stop forever, or just keep going forever, depending. She would grow to maturity within the next two years or so, which might be helpful if they looked closer in age.

If practiced safely she could become an excellent clairvoyant, as well as a master telecommunicator. All things he could help her to learn.

But for now she was a kitten.

While reading the book Lucifer frowned, Antje could rule an entire vampire nation and no one would know. She could force information for people. Lucifer was wrong, he had more to fear from her then she did from him. Although she is 5 times weaker than any vampire, she had abilities that could easily repel them. Gently squeezing Antje Lucifer sighed. Should he devote himself to her? What if she turns into something just as corrupt as his father? Luke shook his head; no Antje is not that kind of person. He will have to really watch her when hunting. Her appetite might grow and she might not even realize it. If Antje killed someone while feeding she would regret it for the rest of her life.

After a few minutes a strange question entered Lucifer’s mind, would she rather feed on males or females? The thought of seducing males for her to bite made him laugh. Until her fangs grew in he would have to bite them for her, else she will do damage to them. Closing the book he placed it onto the desk. Her parents did not say she could not read the books, part of him wanted to make her read it herself. The Magic would not be happy if he gave her the books, but personally he did not care what the magic thought. Pressing his face into Antje’s hair, Lucifer thought about how the future will be from now on. He squeezed her into his chest and held her there, he knew the second day he meet her that she was going to throw his world upside down. Here it was, and he had a feeling it was only getting worse.

Antje felt him stir a little and her eyes fluttered a little. She let out a little yawn and she found herself practically on top of him. "Oh. Hi." she smiled awkwardly. He seemed okay that she was using him as a bed, though, and he was hugging her back. He was pretty comfortable to sleep on. She hoped he hadn't been awake very long. Her hair was kind of really messy and she could feel how high it ad teased itself, she probably had an Afro, or sex hair. Jeez.

She was still really tired, and she didn't really move.

“Hi.” He breathed simply on top of her head. He was falling asleep now. He will quit his job, and Rick will have no idea where he went. He apologized quietly to Rick. He was never going to see the guy again. He had been a good friend to him, he wished more humans were like the guy. Funny how he got attached to this place, so quickly too. At least he would be taking Antje with him. He won’t be alone anymore, although not being alone was going to make his job of surviving much harder now. It will be ok, If he can teach Antje how to control curtain parts of her powers everything will be ok, he just hoped she never uses them on him.

“You can sleep more.” He said tiredly, “I am about to sleep again…” he said quietly. It did not take long, he did fall asleep, his face in her hair and his arms around her tight.

"'Kay. G'night, love."Antje whispered. She fell asleep after a few minutes of pure cuddling. He wasn't as lumpy as she'd expected, and she fit pretty nicely in his arms. She wondered if her heartbeat bugged him.

She woke up much later to his hand gently petting her hair. How long had he been up? God, she hoped he didn't need to do anything important today. It was night, she could sorta tell, even though it was the same blackness in his room. Candles would be nice. It's like the adventures of Hellen Keller and Rumplestiltskin.

"Did I ever tell you that I'm afraid of the dark?" she breathed, finding his eyes in the dark. She didn't mean it to spur him into getting light, just an interesting conversation.

He talking suddenly slightly alarmed him, he thought she was still asleep. “Hmm, no you did not. Would you like to go get those candles? We should get some strong scented candles. I need something that will over power your scent. Also as soon as you feel the strength to… we need to perform the ceremony.” He said, sitting up and pulling Antje with him. Holding her shoulders he helped steady her so he could see if she could sit up yet. It’s been almost a day since the attack; he had no idea if she was ready to do normal activities. “I can’t leave you alone, not till we leave. So until then, we need to stay together all the time. I am sorry if that would make you uncomfortable.” He apologized.

Antje nodded. "By the next time I feed, I should be okay for the 'ceremony'.... Why is it called a ceremony? Like, is there other parts to it?" She'd done her own tattoos with the minimal knowledge of magic. But she'd never tried it on anyone else, even though all she had to do was cut him and get a small amount of venom into him and control the design/marking into the swallows. She'd probably make it easier by biting her tongue, so her blood and venom would mix when she bit him. If she tried to concentrate her energy, maybe the stupid pheremones would just help ease his pain, instead of whatever happened before. Which she still had questions about. Mostly she wondered why he kissed her, of all things to do.

(Not that she wished anything different had happened) She was mostly unsure why he wanted to keep her safe, even if he'd sacrifice his freedom. He'd said things about feelings for her to her father, but it was only a vague wisp of a memory...

Lucifer smiled,” it’s just cold a ceremony because in the old day vampires use to make a big deal out of it. Really all you have to do is cut me and then put some of your blood in me. Really nothing else is needed, maybe a bit of magic on your part, I guess…. ” He paused in thought, was there more to the ceremony? Sliding out of bed Lucifer began to ruffle through some books on the shell. Like heck he would have a book about that kind of stuff. “There might be more to it now that I think about it…” He said, very unsure.

Antje had to readjust, elevating her chest hurt too much.

"I looked it up a little, and it didn't really say much else than what we already know. There's a really fine line between guardian and master, though. I guess they made the guardian ceremony after endentured servants appealed to the courts." she stretched and let out a soft groan at everything that ached. At least his bed was comfy.

"I just hope my body doesn't do that thing like before..." she blushed a bit.

He huffed as she answers the question. “You won’t have to worry about it for now, your body it too busy doing other things, like healing the inside of you.” Lucifer was lucky vampires don’t really blush, but if he could he would. He wish he could have a do over, take the kiss back. He wanted it to happen properly, the kiss to happen more naturally. “Do you think feeding on steaks the next few days will hold you over till you can get up?” He asked. He hoped that her parents worked fast, he wanted to get out of here as fast as he could.

Antje nodded. "Of course." she couldn't understand why he sounded almost regretful when she mentioned the kiss. Maybe he didn't care for her like that. But he cared about her enough to become her guardian? But those were two separate ways of caring, she realized. She wasn't sure if she could even call it her first kiss. Did he realize that she'd never been kissed before? Maybe he was regretful of that.

Then she wondered why she was focusing on that when there were lots of more important things to be worried about. But she wasn't too worried about them. As long as Lucifer was there with her, then she had nothing to worry about.

Maybe she'd tell him that. She was still tired, for some reason, and she kind of wished he'd lay back down with her and she could hold him while she slept. But what would he do? What if he was only being nice earlier?

As soon as she felt better she'd talk to him about it. Or about anything, really. She still wanted to discover who he really was; they couldn't afford to hide things, and she really wanted to bring the real him out of his shell.
