BloodLines

While they were walking to the school, Antje asked a very absurd question in his opinion. “I certainly hope not.” He said with a scowl. “We came here to hide, not make friends with vampires. I find that impossible with you. Everyone for the unnatural world is your enemy.” He said grimly. When they reached the edge of the campus Lucifer let go of Antje’s hand and then turned around and walked the other direction, “Have a good day, you can come to my work place if you need me or just want wait after classes.” He said, before crossing the street to a large 15 story building.

Antje was confused by his sudden tonguelashing. She wasn't asking because she hoped for friends, she was asking in case of meeting others. And being killed on sight for being a dhampire. She would need to be careful, was all. She fought back tears when he was gone. She felt sorry for wearing his patience dry, and he being stuck together with her as her guardian. She steadied herself and walked inside the building, nearly cringing at the number of cliques. Not that she wanted human friends, but having someone to talk to would be nice.

Lucifer did not mean to sound so harsh but the fact that Antje was now going to be out of his sight more often than in made him uneasy and any thought of something that could kill her being around made it worse. His temper wore thin over such a trivial thing. He decide he should apologize later.

---

Shan felt like he was incredibly late, but his sense of time was always off. He ran through the doors of the college and then turned the corner. Sadly some poor girl was standing right there.

BAM!

Shan opened his eyes, the books he held were now scattered about and the Girl was now laying on the floor. “Oh my god, I am so sorry!” He sputtered. He helped her up and looked at her in her face. She had beautiful eyes that sputtered traces of red. That was strange, but at the same time wonderful. “You have beautiful eyes.” He said suddenly. “Oh uh I mean… Oh geeze.”

He just noticed she looked like she was about to cry. “I am so sorry, please don’t cry. I didn’t hurt you did I? Really I am so sorry, is there anything I can do? Please tell me I can do something??” He babbled, trying to not make her cry, he did not want to make a girl cry on the first day.

His golden eyes flashed worry at the girl and his curly black hair bushed at the top of his head.

Antje had very nearly broken into tears, but it wasn't personal. She'd immediately assessed herself; she hit her head a little in her fall, and her immediate response was delayed. She wished she was home, not being charged at..well, not physically. She wanted to go home-home.

His rapid appology wasn't really fixing her head-wound, or her deep-rooted fear of people.

"It's okay..." she blinked, realizing her accent would be weird. British accents, like Lucifer's were cat nip to Americans. Weird, German/British accents were yet to be conceived.

"How did you NOT see me?" she grumbled. Kid smelled weird. Compliments. Neat. Her freak-eyes weren't pretty. She sat up and idly wondered how this would effect her day.

Are you ok? Lucifer’s voice rang through Antje’s head. Did you bump your head? He asked again a bit worried.

Shan tried not to look a bit hurt by her obvious distant of talking to him, but who wouldn’t be mad when someone rammed into them the first day of school? “Look a really am sorry.” He said quietly. Noticing her accent, he recognized that she sounded pretty German and a bit British. “I know this question you probably get asked a lot, but did you just move here from overseas? Oh let me introduce myself, my name is Shane and I am here for the art degree. This is my first year! I was born and raised here!” he said in a excited tone.

Leaning down, Shane extended his hand to help the girl up.

Antje dusted herself off, inwardly shrugging. A scatterbrain ran into me and I fell and he smells weird and I think he thinks we're friends or something. For someone so annoyed earlier he jumped when she was injured. Neat.

"I moved here with my, uh, fiancé from London. But I was born in Germany..." why was she telling him things? He didn't seem dangerous. Antje sighed. She missed Luke.

Lucifer just made an annoyed emotion through the link, try and make friends, I really don’t want to kill humans and have to transfer you the first day of school, he said, half joking.

Shane was secretly disappointed that she already had a fiancé, “Wow congratulations on the whole fiancé thing, and Welcome to this small little town.” He said with a smile. She was really cute, but a tad unfriendly. Ok more than a tad, but maybe she had her reasons. Maybe he could bring her to meet some of the guys, she might enjoy some company or new friends around here. “So do you have any friends? If you don’t, you are welcome to come meet some of my friends. They are some good people!” He said, smiling sat her.

Antje smiled a little. Why's your immediate solution to anything to kill? It was funny, in a way. "I'm..ehhr..not a people person..." god her accent was weird. She had to try to make sure he understood her. "L-like, I don't even know how I found myself engaged..." S's were sharp, F's were v's, and a's were British. At least in London, she could sound more British. Maybe she could play off a bad accent as an excuse to not socialize, but Shane had somehow thought she needed friends despite her usual vampiric unfriendliness. How stupid were humans who tried to be friendly to a clear predatory vampire? Ahck, meine göt. Gehen sie weg.

“You sound like a people person to me!” He said, trying to encourage her to meet his friends. “Say what class are you in next?” he asked. He wondered if it was possible that they were in the same class together. Shane loved meeting new people, and he loved helping new people around campus. This was his first year as an actual student, but he had been here previous years to do community service.

Antje fumbled for her class schedule, the class she took first was from 3pm to 6pm, a human biology class. She chose the class because it was a great class for art, in a sense, with all the diagrams they made students make. It was made that way as a joint class, biology and human anatomy meets art class.

Not entirely boring, but just a bit. She'd doubted he would be in that class with her; he looked neither artistic or interested in human anatomy. But at least having someone to talk to wouldn't be bad. She felt completely out of her element. There weren't many students around where she'd decided to stay and wait for her class, but people were beginning to mosey in, making her uncomfortable.

Shane glanced over at her schedule in her hand and smiled, they had a class together. Just like he thought. “Nice, so you are an art student? So am I!” He said, pressing his thumb to his chest. “Did you maybe want to go to class together… speaking of glass… oh my gosh I think I am late, and I have been standing here talking... wait, are we late?” He asked, going from a slight panic to a confused state in a matter of seconds.

Antje shook her head. "Class starts in like, four minutes..." she shrugged. The room was only thirty feet away.

He didn't seem like a very artistic person to her. He was like a clumsy puppy.

She missed Lucifer already, despite his snippy remark from before. Being around a growing crowd of humans made her nervous and thirsty. Shane felt, to her, a lot younger despite their classes together and their seemingly close age.

Then, she felt it; someone was trying to get into her head. It wasn't the kid. Or her parents, or Lucifer. Who else? Who would try that?

She

whipped her head around, looking for the source. Antje nearly jumped; a man who could have been Alistair's twin brother stood with two other men and a beautiful, but sour-looking woman. Their eyes were human colors except for the Alistair impersonator's, his was black, a darkling. Was he the leader of the other changelings? He looked it. He dripped authority and she immediately wanted to disappear.

Following the Gaze of the girl, Shane looked at a man who looked like a Vampire. Pulling out his phone, Shane snapped a picture of him and then started to send the picture to all his friends. Gently tugging on the girls arms, Shane smiled at her, “We should go, that guy gives me the creeps.” He said.

Immediately after Shane began to walk with the girl, his phone started to go off with replies from all his friends he had sent the picture too. He checked each one with a frown and then closed the phone and turned it down till it was on vibrate and stuck it in his pocket. “So is he a friend of yours? You looked like you knew the guy.” He said, trying to be a bit friendly, but knew he was prying by the fearful gaze she had given him. "Oh by the way, I did not catch your name." He said.

"Mein nam ist Ana." Ah-nah. She went by that at school, because her name was kind of foreign. It was simple German, cognates. She didn't understand why he'd taken the man's picture, but he didn't understand her uneasiness around other vampires. "And I don't know anyone here..." she mumbled when they walked away. She desperately hoped the darkling hadn't received any information about the false call for her suitor, which she'd learned had an old picture of her on it. She'd changed some lately, but it wasn't hard to figure her out from the picture and the accent.

"His eyes were weird, did you notice?" she asked, still wondering how the presence of others might become a deadlier situation than before. Sometimes she woke up feeling cut up and cold from the last time. Would they have to leave?

Shane nodded, "Yeah I noticed. I don't think you have to worry about a guy like that bothering you." He said in all seriousness. Classes went by rather fast and Shane talked to Anna several times during the class. After is was done, he offered to go get a snack at the cafe on the campus, "They have some pretty good food there. besides me an some of my other friends are going as well, you can meet them. There are four guys and three girls. Richard, Paul, Mike, and Tommy. Then the girls are Rachael, Richard's younger sister, Tambra and Ashely."

Gesturing to walk he gave her a friendly smile, he kind of hoped the guy was still outside waiting for Anna, if in fact Anna was his target. If he so much as caused a inch of trouble in this town, he was in for it.

Antje smiled at his invitation, she wasn't hungry in the normal sense, but she'd go to the cafe and then go home. Maybe Lucifer was in a better mood. He might not be for very long if she told him about the other vampire. Shane wouldn't bother him, she hoped, even though it was clear that he had a crush on her. His friends sounded nice, and his dogish loyalty was probably why he had so many.

"I can't stay for long, but I'll go with you." she'd feel like a hermit if she didn't. She loved Lucifer, and spending time with him seemed to never get old, but she wanted to seem normal to Shane. I..I got invited to go to a cafe with some people. I won't stay long. I wanna come home soon, anyways. Is that okay? She wasn't asking permission so much as if he minded.

She wanted him to come, too, but it was still light out, and he was probably still sleeping.

She'd missed him badly, which she felt stupid for. He probably was happy for some free time. Watching her 24hrs a day couldn't be fun for him.

"So how long have you been living around here?" she asked while they started walking to the spot he'd bowled her over at.

(is that other vampire after her haha?)

Shane looked around, making double sure the strange guys he saw earlier weren’t around.

Friends already?
Lucifer said in surprise. Here I thought we would have to accidently kill a few people before you got a few of those. He joked to her. Just be careful and call me if anything happens.

“Me? Forever haha. I was born and raised here. So was all the blokes in my pa…. group. Do you drink coffee at all?”
He said, leading her outside and walking down a paved pathway.

(yes. But he's not as stupid as the last guy. The four people around him are slaves, drones, and he uses them to gather information. So instead of sending them to classes at the same time as usual, he'll use them to spy on Antje. Because he knows that she's free game. So he'll take his evil time.

Will the older wwolves figure Antje out? Do you think the girls in the pack might not like her? Also, how have Lucifer and Antje hunted?)

Pa-? What? He almost said pack. What the hell did that mean? She let it go. She didn't want to care. If he'd meant pack he could be a werewolf. Werewolves weren't fond of vampires. The Magics chose vampires as the superior second court. Both other courts were hated. Antje could see why. She hated them because they were sort of close to her own predicament, but at least they got to be human.

If they remembered her birth and existence? She'd be food.

She still had to go to the cafe. If she wigged out he'd be suspicious. Especially after her reaction to the scary darkling.

"That's cool. I was born in Germany, but we moved to the UK and then here." Oh, and her parents were the most werewolf sympathetic courtiers ever, if that helped him.

(I don’t think they will because she has a heartbeat,

I think the girls should like her, because we want the back to like her so they let Lucifer and her stay around

The hunted by Catch and release
:P they catch, get their fill, and then let them go back haha.

You can go ahead and take the girl werewolves and ill take the guys. J you can decide their personalities and stuff! )

“Most American’s would love to hear that.”
He said with a laugh. “and you did not answer my question, do you drink Coffee? If you do, let me buy you a cup!” He said happily.

Antje smiled. "Yes, coffee is good."

Rachel was busy working on her schoolwork when Shane walked in with a girl who looked about her age. Being the youngest in the group was hard, especially with her huge crush on Shane. Who was his friend? Irrational women logic began to take her mind by storm. He had a girlfriend? She looked five years younger than him! How could he reject her and then see this new woman?! She nearly growled. Ashley was texting in response to the undead freak that Shane spotted today. Vampires were to be mauled on site.

She'd never seen one with so many slaves or such dark eyes. It made her wary, to say the least, but it hadn't warranted such an aggressive response as Tambra's. Tambra's was already talking about killing him. Tambra's was omega, as well as Richard, their families always omegas. It was natural to be angry at any threat to the pack, but Richard was much more calm about it.

Paul was working the counter in the cozy coffee shop, serving other patrons. The girl Shane brought in looked like a super model, her dark hair a contrast to Ashley's blond hair, and Tambra's mahogany hair. Rachel's hair was similar to hers, but Rachel's hair wasn't as perfect as hers. She looked like a movie star.

She practically glowed.

(finally got around to typing this response haha…. Sorry it took so long, you can hit my hand. xD )

Shane smiled, this was his pack.
His pack, he was Alpha and he was a werewolf. He was much older then he looked, for some reason he kept a younger adult physic when he was almost in his 40s. Wolves lived much longer then normal humans but not nearly as long as vampires. The Magic where the same way, but they also lived longer than the average werewolf.Chill out Rachel. Shane growled through their link, sensing her hatred.

Wolves links were very different from Vampires. A pack was completely connected, all the time, all day and pretty much at any distance. Paul waved at Shane as he walked by, and then went back to filling coffee orders for the people around the area. Richard was flirting with Tambra again, the guy had fallen hard for her, them both being Omega. Everyone things they make a really good couple, but Richard is always teased really hard for his crush. No one is sure if they are actually dating yet or not. Sometimes they act like they are, other times they don’t.

Shane said hi to both Ashley and Rachel, not wanting to talk to Tambra because she looked like she was in a hard core bad mood. She had a thirst for Vampire blood pulsing though her portion of the link. Shane wondered how Tambra ended up being an Omega instead of Richard’s sister.

Mike was sitting at the table next to Tambra trying to show Tommy how to do a complicated math problem, but all of them raised their attention when Shane approached the table, the sign of respect they gave him.
“Guys, Girls, this is my friend Ana. She just moved here and needs some friends go ahead and say hi! She enjoys art a lot, like you Ashley.” He said, Also she seems to have the smell of vampire all over her but a heartbeat. She might be a blood slave or something so we should keep an eye on her. She might be on the run from other vampires, so she might be the bait we need to lure those blood suckers I saw earlier. I think she knows them, just make sure you keep an eye on her. Be friendly, we have a territory to protect. He said seriously to his pack.

She gorgeous, Tommy said through the link.

Shut up and finish the problem dog, Mike said.

“Hey, my name is Richard. This is Tambra, Ashely Mike and Tommy. This is my little sister Rachel and over there is Paul. You can ask his for anything, even if it’s not on the menu. Go ahead and get something and join us!”
Richard said, patting the chair next to him. Shane nodded, typical Richard, he is friendly and nice to everyone around him, natural peace keeper.

Antje could hear Shane. Not as clearly as normal people sounded; she felt like she were listening behind a closed door. The major flaw to their link was its constant openness. The Magics had realized this relatively soon into their discovery, if anyone were to turn traitor, everyone would know. There were far less crime with wolves than vampires, but vampires were a more social species, given that they had many ranks.

His assessment of her made her anxious. As long as her heart beat she would be alright. She was shocked at Shane suggesting her for bait. She would never do that to him if she were in his position. For some reason the wolves seemed to think that if they somehow killed enough vampires then they would be reevaluated as beings. A big mistake, seeing as Magics would always respond with a violent crackdown with the vampires.

If the courtiers would pull their heads out from their bums, they'd realize that without them, there were no Magics. And no Magics would mean a horrifically dwindled vampire population, and the wolves would be discovered quickly without the Magic's help covering up their crimes, and as soon as they were discovered, they would be in their own holocaust.

But it wasn't like she could explain that to them. She blushed at Tommy's remark, but she was mostly blushing because she was an outsider, and she was nervous around people. She smiled and walked to the counter, gazing at the menu. Paul looked like a cool guy, the odd friend that's always helpful.

"Erhm..Hi." she wanted her accent gone. She probably sounded like a dumb foreigner.

"Hallo Ana, es ist shön, Sie zu treffen." Antje was surprised, but it only made him seem cooler/friendlier.

"Woher weißt du das?" no, but really, how did he know?

Paul just shrugged and put his elbows on the countertop.

"Du siehst aus Deutsch, das ist alles.."

Antje smiled.

"Ich würde nicht in der Lage sein zu sagen." She missed speaking German a lot.

"Haha, das ist in Ordnung. Was möchten Sie?" The cookies on the trays behind him looked very good. She had a thought. She could buy her new friends cookies. Unless that was bad for werewolves.

"Haben die anderen wie chocolate chip cookies?"

(Its okay. I wrote in German as a punishment. MUAHAHAHA. Jk. Restaraunt chatter. Nothing important. :3

Antje, I am getting off work in an hour. Will you meet me in front of my work place? I need to hunt and you need to get some real blood in you. Lucifer said suddenly through their link. He was gazing at Antje’s school through his office window. He could feel her and where she was at, which was the advantage of having the guardian bond.

Shane smiled and laughed at some of his friends, they were bagging on Richard again. Richard being Omega usually was always the butt end of a joke, but he always seem to take it and never mind. Shane mostly let Paul take care of the pack in his steed when he was not around. Tommy was the real goof of the group, and Mike was always trying to keep him in line. Shane thought they acted a lot like brothers.

Looking back at Antje, Shane eyed her a bit before looking at Rachael.
Watch your temper Rachael, He warned.

Rachel couldn't bring herself to calm down. No. For the first time ever she didn't obey anyone else.

What a stupid girl. Who did she think she was? Paul could have given them sweets for free. So what was she trying to do? Impress people? Hah. What a shallow girl. She smelled so strange that it was all she could do to not call her out. Her heartbeat was another thing, too. Vampires, not even changed humans had a heartbeat. So that made her even more of a monster than any other vampire.

Rachel fumed, beginning to run out of steam until she started seeing physical flaws, too. Her hair was a positive hipster mess, her eyes were dark hazel and too wide, and Gods was she skinny. Maybe she should donate her cookie to the anorexic, artsy wannabe.

If she had known that Ana could HEAR her, she wouldn't have said such things. She'd get over it eventually, but right now she wanted to maul Ana's face.

Antje was very alarmed at the young woman's unconditional hate. Especially when Rachel practically said everything any bully had ever said to her. She just quietly watched the group interact with each other while she ate her cookie. Despite Rachel's rants, they seemed to like her. She liked them, oddly enough. She took great care to never expose her tattoo once, fearing they would kill her. She would cover it up later.

She'd been delighted to hear Lucifer's voice, really feeling just how much she had missed him today.

I'm not really thirsty... She always said that. Mostly because human blood, while nutritious, wasn't as healthy for her as taking blood from Luke. But through their bond his body was slowly starting to be able to create blood. But still. She always felt embarrassed that somehow taking from him was a somewhat..erotic experience. He'd let her kiss him and sometimes he'd kiss back. But he always seemed wary of that, even if he did kiss back.

Maybe he didn't like her that much.

Maybe Rachel was right.

I actually think she is really hot. Tommy said in response to Rachael.

Rachael stop being so mean
, her older brother scolded.

Matt scoffed and laughed
, she is just being jealous because Shane is paying attention to a girl. Give it up Rachael, Shane is too good for you.

Shut it, guys. Enough.
Shane barked the order suddenly. He hated talking about him and Rachael. She was too young and needed to grow up before he could even look at her like a wolf. Shane did not have his eye for anyone to be his mate currently and had yet to find someone worthy of running his pack by his side.

Everyone quieted down in the link, but them talking out loud only got louder.
“Tommy you are such an idiot. Would you pay attention to me?” Mike said, smacking Tommy on the head. “I give up!” Mike tried to walk away, but Tommy graved onto Mike and whined, “Nooo Miiike, don’t leave! I need your help with this math!”

Mike pushed him off and crossed his arms,
“Forget it.”

Tommy looked over to Paul,
“Paul? Ashley? Anna? Someone help me with thiiisss.” He said, begging the three people in front of him.

You need the food, Maybe you can drink from me if you are really bothered by the human blood. He thought to her, “Geeze I spoil her…” He said quietly under his breath.
