Realistic or Modern Bennington High for Special Scholars

Behind the conversation, Roxanne stood shakily. She walked over, peering around Xavier's arm. "Is everything ok?" she asked, her voice shaking slightly from the exertion of recovering from the attack. A thought flashed into her mind: Zane probably doesn't know Xav is gay. He probably thinks that we were... Doing things. She pushed it away; why should she give a crap about what the shrink thought?

Viavana was walking to her brother's room when she passed Roxanne's room, she looked from Zane to Xavier curiously. "Hey boys, what's going on?" she asked. She knew Zane to be the friendly charming guy around school, but she knew Roxanne's personality towards them and she knew what Xavier had, so she was slightly worried.

Xavier glanced over at Roxanne, then Viavana when she came over before looking back at Zane. Miles was there too, speaking really fast and not making any sense. All the people questioning him made Xavier's head spin, and he paniced when he realized that his control was slipping which -sadly for him- only made him lose his grip on reality faster. The wallpaper and carpets started peeling up slowly, and Miles's voice started yelling inside his head along with a bunch of others. Trying to calm his breathing, Xavier ignored the others and sat down just inside Roxanne's room, his back to the wall. He kept Roxanne in his sights, just to use her as an anchor to reality and for a sliver of comfort. "I-I'm f-f-fine. Just... Just ti-tiered," he said, not realizing he had stuttered and closing his eyes tightly, hoping the shrink guy and Viavana couldn't see him.

Viviana watched as Xavier went into Roxanne's room and then at Roxanne. She had noticed how he kept looking over Zane's shoulder and wondered if he was seeing something that wasn't there. She grabbed Zane's shoulder before he could act and said silently, "Maybe we should leave these two alone, they look a little warned out if you know what I mean." She tried to lead him away from the room, hoping they didn't have to call a nurse.

"Very well" Zane replied to Viviana. He turned around, closing the door behind him, "Let me know if anything's wrong okay?" he said calmly as he closed the door. "Viviana is it? How's your day going?" Zane asked kindly. He was very 'traditionally handsome' as some would call it. The dimple in his chin, the charming looks he gives, the way he carried himself, it was almost classic.

Viviana sighed as he asked and looked up at him. "One of the doctors chewed my ass again because I'm 'not serious' enough. It's not my fault I look like a punk." She rolled her eyes and looked towards the kitchen and asked, "Want to get a coffee?"

Zane smiled as she told him of her scenario, he was very grateful for her offer. "I would be delighted" he responded with a nod. "I'm assuming your day was rather eventful as well?" Zane asked Viviana while walking beside her. "I've got my hands full with patients all week it seems, it's going to be rather busy. Say, what's your field of study if you don't mind my asking?"

"Warned out?" Roxanne bristled, slamming her door shut. "She's not even literate! Not to mention she thinks that we..." She kicked the bottom of her dresser, screaming, before quieting down. "Are you feeling better, Xav?" she asked worriedly.

"The only reason you have so many patients is your own fault, unless you have a doctor pushing you?" she joked. "I'm here for psychology, and to be close to my brother....don't tell anyone that alright?" She smiled at him but her mind wasn't exactly on the conversation.

"No worries at all. You're secret's safe with me. Hopefully within the month, I'll be considered a doctor" Zane told her as he walked beside her smiling. "It's tough here sometimes, but it's very manageable and rewarding. After all, we are here to help. If you don't mind my asking, who might your brother be?" he asked curiously, but not pushing the issue at all.

She nodded. "It's fine. His names Alex, this is his last year of high school." As they walked into the kitchen she went straight to the coffee machine.

Zane stood by the coffee machine, he ran his hand through his hair before leaning against the nearby wall. "If it would help at all, I would be more than willing to see him. My therapy is different from most, I feel like getting to know the patient, and building a relationship is one of the most important factors personally". he told her as he thought of his patients in the past, and the ones he's currently working with.

She shook her head as she said, "Nah, it's perfectly fine. He's been doing great since the end of last year. Plus i think you have enough patients, I need some too." She smirked at him as she made herself dome coffee.

Xavier had been busy watching little things crawl around on the carpet, one finding it's way into his hand and weaving in and out of his fingers. He couldn't tell what they were. Thankfully not spiders, but it didn't even look like they had legs. 'How do they move if they don't have legs? Maybe they drag themselves around by arms, or the-' His train of thought stopped when he heard his nickname, and he quickly looked up to see Roxanne watching him. Taking the chance, Xavier closed his eyes and forced himself to focus on reality, letting the parts of his mind that wanted to drift think about logical things like numbers and books. Finally, Xavier opened his eyes again and the room was back to normal. "I'm fine now," he said quietly, offering a weak smile and standing up slowly.

Zane pulled out a chair for Viviana, sitting down and himself. He looked up and down at Viviana, rubbing his chin as if thinking of how to phrase a question. "So, I mean no insult by this whatsoever, but I'm imagining the doctors around here tend to give you quite a bit of flak due to your appearance correct?" he asked her as he looked up at her, hoping she would take a seat.

"Good." Her eyes softened. "I worry about you, you know," Roxanne said softly. "Are you sure everything's ok? And what did Zane want?"

Viviana smiled, nodding and sat down in the chair he pulled out. "Thanks, and yeah they don't exactly think I'm any good, especially for the patients...."

"Yeah, I know you worry, even if you shouldn't have to," he said and smiled softly. Blinking, his smile faded and he stared past Roxanne, thinking hard. "I'm not really sure. He said something about wanting to check up on you, and talk to you, and then I got this idea that he was the one who drugged you," he spoke carefully, sorting through his memories from the past few minutes before they could run off forever. Laughing nervously, Xavier rubbed the back of his neck and smiled sheepishly. "I kinda jumped to conclusions, huh?"

"Well I would beg to differ. I'm sure you're wonderful with the patients. There's nothing about your look you should change for that matter either" Zane told her while resting his head on his hand. "Actually your look is nice. You're a beautiful girl and I'm positive it doesn't deter your work whatsoever.

She smirked at his last comment and nodded. "Patients probably actually like me more because I don't dress like I'm all business, but so far I don't know that's not true...Anyway why do you want to become a doctor?"

"It's what I've always wanted to do. To help people, I know that's a cliched answer but it's true. I want to be impactful on my patients, I want to truly make their lives better. If I can help almost every patient I'm with, imagine how many people's lives would become better" Zane told her with a warm, genuine smile. "Tell me, what's your answer?"

"I watched my family when my brother's personalities showed, and I want to learn more about how to stop it...." she answered. "If I can find a way to help better than shock therapy I'll be one of the happiest people."

"Yeah, you kinda did, Xav. You're probably right, though." Roxanne sighed, running her hand through her long, red hair. "I wanna get out of this place as fast as possible. But it's not likely I'll get released, unless it's into a different institution."

David stands up after finally finishing eating his slice of bread and walks his way back to his room. The hassle of the students has finally died down, allowing him to really take in the new home. He gets into his room with a clearer head and lays on the bed. His mind trails off to the memories of his first day at his last place, where they had never let him alone. He knew the newest place would be very different then what he was used to but his favorite nurse was transferred with him that time. He didn't have to worry if he was going to be alone or not that last time. Now he has to find a new favorite, there wasn't an option to be alone for him. He got up and started wondering the hall and smiled at one of the nurses handing out the pills then just sat down on the other side of his door. Maybe he can be friends with fellow students and that could help him, but who would want to be friends with a big baby? He sighed and looked around, sort of afraid to say hi to anyone.

Xavier smiled almost sadly at Roxanne's comment, then playfully punched her in the arm. "Hey now, you can't think like that. You're almost 18, and that's a legal adult." He paused and then smirked, putting a hand under his chin as if deep in thought. "You're probably thinking about other things you can do when you're legal though," he joked, looking at his friend with a mischievous smile and glint in his eye.
