Realistic or Modern Bennington High for Special Scholars

"Yes I do" Zane responded as he stared up at her. His eyebrow raised wondering just what she may be getting at with this.

She tapped the glass. "This," Roxanne said, her voice low, "is how we feel. Not you, you normal ones. The rest of us, the ones they think there is something wrong with. There is, in most cases. But most of us..." She trailed off again, before continuing, "I never did anything to land me in this place. We feel trapped, like we're in a glass bubble. But it's all so fragile, everything in this place." Suddenly, she tossed the snow globe to him.

Zane caught the snowy globe in his hands. "Believe me, I'm here to help you, to help make your lives easier however I possibly can" he smiled softly as he glanced back up to Roxanne. "This is a place you can feel free to say anything, no repercussions"

"Our lives are in your hands," Roxanne said carefully, glancing pointedly at the snow globe. "Don't forget that." She glanced at the wall clock. "What a shame," she said with a fake pout. "It seems my session is up. Well, see you next time. Probably." She turned, walking towards the door.

"One moment." Zane reached in his pocket handing her his card. "Anytime you need me, for anything feel free to contact me"

Roxanne looked down at the card, then back up at his face. "I could literally just walk to your dorm. You do realize that, right?" she asked a bit harshly, raising an eyebrow. "But I'll humor you and take it anyway." She made a show of grabbing a card and stuffing it into her pocket. "I doubt your services will be needed. I only come to these things because if I don't, I get detention and even longer sessions."

"Very well" Zane said as he left his office, traveling down the halls, speaking to the occasional admirer, eventually finding himself in the courtyard, where he sat, relaxing

Roxanne wandered back down the hallway. It was nearly lunch time; she figured she should find Xavier again. They ate lunch together, when Roxanne wasn't feeling... Well, depressed. Which wasn't often, admittedly, but she only isolated herself when she felt particularly separate from the rest of the world.

Xavier smiled and laughed a little, a sense of relief washing through him when David didn't act freaked out. Standing up, Xavier walked into the hallway and pointed down one direction, glancing back at David over his shoulder. "You just go straight down here, then left at the double doors. I'd go with you, but I need shoes on I think," he said with a laugh, wiggling his toes then waving bye to David. "See you later man," he said and went off to his own room, slipping shoes on before wandering back into the hallway, spotting Roxanne up ahead of him and smiling. "Hey Roxie, how'd it go?"

"Take care" David says as he repeats the directions in his head. He checks his door for a lock and doesn't see one so he just shuts his door. He wanders through the students quietly, taking in the busy hall as he makes his way into the cafeteria. When he gets there he grabs a piece of bread and starts to eat it not sure what all he could eat.

A smiled tugged at Roxanne's lips for the umpteenth time that day. "You know I hate it when you call me that," she laughed. "It went alright. I did most of the talking - not about myself, of course. You know I'm much smarter than that." She pulled the crumpled business card out of her pocket. "Did he give you one of these too?" she asked Xavier curiously.

Xavier smiled and laughed a little. "Ah, we both know you can't hate me or anything I do. I'm just too awesome to hate," he said and stuck his tongue out, looking a lot like a little kid. He laughed again and pulled out the card, looking over. "Yeah man, I got one too. Seriously, why would I need a phone number and email address to contact the guy when I could just walk over? I don't even think half the kids here are aloud to use phones or internet." Smirking, Xavier paused for a moment and threw the card like it was a ninja star or something, landing it in a trash can several feet away. "Yes! Three pointer!"

"We don't need them," Roxanne said, more to herself than him. "We are perfectly fine, and we can all help each other. We always do." She bit her lip, shoving the card back into her pocket. "I almost despise the fact we don't have classes today," she yawned, leaning back against the wall lazily. "It's soooooo boring here."

Xavier nodded, leaning against the wall next to Roxanne and staring up at the ceiling. After a few moments the little specks seemed to move, shifting into strange patterns and Xavier watched lazily. He knew it wasn't really happening, and let it be. The only way to get it to stop would be to take the meds, but there was no way in Hell he'd do that. He'd been off them for a good five months now, and hadn't had any episodes that were bad. Annoying symptoms like his "friends" or the moving specks that weren't really moving? Yes, but no big episodes so no medication. Speaking of which...

Xavier glanced at a clock on the wall and cursed quietly, but very colourfuly. The nurses were probably making their rounds now, and would give him the meds. He could do a slight of hand to not take them like he always did, but not in the hallway. They'd notice a pill on the hall floor. Xavier looked around, then smiled at Roxanne in a very fake, innocent way. "Hey, do you mind if I hide in your room since it's closer?"

Roxanne smirked. "Trying to get out of meds again?" she asked. Roxanne knew the truth behind her medication; they were sugar pills, just placebos. The doctors must have been extremely stupid to try to fool her. "Of course you can."

Xavier put a hand to his heart and acted hurt. "Roxanne, you wound me. I had no idea your opinion of me is so low," he said, failing to fight back a smile as he repeated her sect emcee from earlier. "You make it seem like I'm a bad kid for not trusting whatever the Hell those nurses and doctors give us all," Xavier said and started making his way to Roxanne's room, ignoring a little voice of reason in the back of his mind that was telling him that was exactly what a schizophrenic would say.

"Come up with something original, why don't you?" Roxanne laughed, following him to her room. "Here," she said, unlocking her door. It could only be locked and unlocked from the outside; as someone diagnosed with depression and previously suicidal, she supposed they couldn't take any risks. She had tried locking the door before closing it, too, but closing it seemed to reset the lock. "Go hide in the closet. I'd worry about you digging around in my underwear, but..." You're gay, she wanted to say, but she didn't.

Xavier rolled his eyes, smiling as he went and hid in the closet. He done it a few times before, when he'd been out walking around and suddenly needed to hide. Sitting on the floor and closing the door, Xavier hummed for a few moments before laughing. "This is really ironic, you know, since only you and Malory know and now I'm hiding in a closet," he joked, laughing a little then pausing as there was a knock on the door. "Don't tell them I'm here," Xavier whispered quickly then slid further into the closet, pulling down a jacket or something and covering himself with it.

Roxanne sat lazily on her bed. "Come in," she said. "Not that you'd listen if I said otherwise," she added under her breath. The nurses came in, handing her her pills and a glass of water. Roxanne swallowed them hurriedly, but her breath hitched. Crap, she thought.

"Have you seen Xavier?" one nurse asked.

Roxanne nodded. "Yeah, he was going to that new shr- Doctor's office," she corrected herself. The nurse never took too kindly to her usual term for the men who "tried" to "help" them. The nurses nodded, leaving, and Roxanne collapsed to the floor, shaking and gasping for breath.

Xavier listened as the nurses left, waiting a few seconds before opening the closet doors and peeking out. As soon as he saw Roxanne he froze for a moment, then scrambled over to her and kneeling on the floor next to her. "Hey Roxie, come on, just breathe ok? Breathe and stop... Stop shaking and..." He continued mumbling, looking around frantically to see if there was anything at all that would help fix the situation. "Y-you want me to-to get a nurse or-or something?" He asked, finally pulling his thoughts together enough to ask a question, even if he was stuttering.

Zane traveled through the halls, walking by Roxanne's dorm. He knocked on the door hoping to ask her a few more questions.

"No," Roxanne gasped. "No, it's just an attack." She practiced breathing the way she had been taught, her fists clenching and unclenching on the carpet. She was doubled over, and her breathing slowed. "Ok... I'm fine. Fine fine fine fine fine..." She repeated the word like a mantra, straightening herself up. "One of those freaking pills was real," she spat.

Xavier frowned and took a step back to give Roxanne her space. "Ok, if you say so," he said finally after giving her a once over to make sure she was actually ok. He was confused and looked up at the ceiling, wondering why she'd get a real pill now. He knew that all her meds were sugar pills, just like she knew he didn't take his, and wished that the little specks on the ceiling would be helpful and spell it out. Instead he got a big cursive 'F*ck You :D '. "That's pleasant," he mumbled to himself, then glanced at the door before standing up. "Let me get that. You don't need to see any nurses or they'll drug you again," he said, trying to keep the worry out of his voice as he opened the door. Blinking in confusion, Xavier scrunched his face up when he saw Zane. "This is the guy who did it. He ordered the nurses to give the drugs to Roxanne," a voice told Xavier, and it made perfect sense. Trying his best to look mean and intimidating -something he failed at miserably- he said, "What do you want?"

"I was just dropping in for a moment. Hopefully to have a word with Roxanne. Hopefully get to know a bit more about her and such. You as well." Zane replied warmly, he was trying to diffuse the hostility as best as he could. "Are you alright Xaiver?" he asked with a curious brow raised.

"He's lying!" Xavier heard the voice again, and glanced past Zane to see "Miles" in the hall, glaring at the shrink. "He came here to see how the drugs effected poor Roxanne, then give you some. He's bad, Xavier, he's bad," Miles hissed, and Xavier scowled at Zane. "Roxanne probably doesn't want to talk to you now, so you should just go away," he said coldly, glancing over to see Miles nodding at him with a proud smile and gesturing for Xavier to continue. "Roxanne's fine, I'm fine, everyone's fine, so go away now." He didn't slam the door in Zane's face like he would have loved to, figuring that it would land him in solitary for a while.
