Well it seems like I will be the first one to deal with actual combat considering I have a giant sea scorpion thing inside my ship that I'll be dealing with in my next post.

Nah, thats his ship, so it would be his problem to deal with. He might not like the exiles or humans in general, but he doesn't throw his problems onto other people just to make things easy.

As the free time I have to post slowly gets shorter my posts seem to be getting worse

@SpiralErrant my only real concern is how much action to take carrying forward player intent so a single battle on a small scale doesn't take days to express, but gives more instant gratification so more fighting can happen. As far as on a tactical level I'm less concerned -- The enemy will have a plan, and the players will hopefully have a plan or reaction for their assets and liabilities. Picture how the battle is set to unfold, roll some dice, allow players to react hopefully and do something clever or foolish, let the NPCs do the same, bake and serve. We'll see how it goes soon enough I think -- the world is out there, Those seeking trouble can find it if it isn't coming to them fast enough. xD


I think we're cool. As you said, beta... but I've done story-rich strategic simulations before and they came out well.

I am sure the rest of us can be the true judge of whether your quality cannot be realized in brevity. You do you, friend. If you're invested in the game it shouldn't matter if every (or any) post is a masterpiece... that you care about quality is all I need to know, I think.

I don't know, it had just been some time since I had done an RP until I joined this site about a month ago. To me it just seems like I can't quite get myself back to my old self when it comes to writing. I still enjoy it a lot, its just like I have minor writers block whenever I make a post and something always seems to be not quite right to me after I read it after its posted.

Thanks for the likes guys, made me feel a bit better about this whole writers block situation, it is appreciated that you aren't like some of the people I have rped with and judge every single detail to the point where you'll get upset about one sentence not flowing quite as well as the others. That was kind of the reason I stopped rping for about a year in all honesty.

Also in relation to the recent 'battle discussion' I am not against my characters suffering or losing. For the sole fact I dont want to leave this RP I would prefer not to die, but I know for any good story the hero has to reach so close to the point of losing that all seems lost and so I never expect my character to win everything. Infact I often let the other person win in a fight since I know they generally want their character to be bullet proof. I am just mean cause I make sure to prove they are not bullet proof before I lose, just to make them think a tad.

Well you have far more mouths to feed and sadly you weren't able to gain any food during the trip to the new continent. Don't forget you have a very large population of prisoners, most of which will fuck you over if given half a chance.


As for not always winning and such, I don't have a problem with it. Considering we are in a foreign land with dangers unknown I expect to lose quite often in all honesty. Why do you think I chose to just leave the redwoods alone instead of even trying to figure out what was happening? For all Belanor knows there is a fucking dragon living in that tree lol.

Cleared. Professions chosen THOROUGHLY justified, remaining "jack of all trades, master of none" well in line with culture. PM'ed a wall of notes/approval... have an idea to pitch as well.

Slightly embarassing question -- but I believe I have accidentally changed the font I *VIEW* in (not type, but actually view because it relates back to earlier posts) to one that is far bolder and frankly not as attractive to read. Does anybody know if there is a way (and can articulate this succinctly) to change the viewing font or viewing font size? In the meantime the font I post in might be different as I attempt to work around the issue. Any help appreciated.
