Caravan/wagon peeps, Ash bridged you, Cal, and Shae together. So, we'll say you can see the young girl in the field battling her madness, holding a knife, trying to kill herself.

Also, as Amelie and Annalisa have already found out, there is a maddening presence in the city. Immediately upon entering the city, it assaults your senses, mental capacities, emotions, and some would say soul. The exceptions are supernatural beings and Elves. They have a heartier mental fortitude in general and can get much closer to the source than other races/beings.

The source is somewhere near or in the Keep. The closer you get to it the harder it is to resist madness. If you press into the bailey of the keep, be ready to describe how you are actively dealing with the incredibly powerful madness that is threatening to tear your mind to shreds. I will also describe what you're seeing.

I see an opportunity for Cassie to shine. :P

Also, Aimless Vagabond Aimless Vagabond I must borrow you for a couple minutes whenever you're free time to discuss Things™️.

Cmon boys, girls and robots. ;-;

Evil is spreading and we're all sucking our toes and drinking pomegranate juice. Who's up to post next?

WlfSamurai WlfSamurai just a reminder that JohnEgbert is no longer part of the role-play and that ArisenMoon has decided (as of last night) to step away from RpN to focus on real-life commitments. Also, EAGERATI notified us last Sunday that her laptop is in the repair shoppe.

But like Wackadoodle0987 Wackadoodle0987 said, if you’re not one of the aforementioned names, ‘c’mon boys, girls and robots!’

Yes, that’s right. Thank your for the reminders. I was no paying attention.

I'm in no rush, I just bump stuff after a few days because in the past there have been cases where if nothing happens for a few days people get lax about posting - and then they start thinking "hey, I'll just wait for someone else to post" and then no one posts for two weeks... and you're just hoping something will happen, but by that point you're not really expecting it to and have started checking for updates less frequently until eventually it's been 4 months and nothing has happened and you're just left to assume everyone died in a car crash that one night four months ago and you've been staring at your computer screen for no reason whatsoever.

Haha... I'm totally not speaking from experience. I've never been in that situation before. :ghostn:

:) I eagerly await whomever is next, no matter when that may be.

Excuse the double post, I just want to make sure you get a notification WlfSamurai WlfSamurai .

I see a few choices for Amelie, and wondered which you thought was most appropriate.

1) She loses the battle and gets nothing.
2) She loses the battle but learns something (perhaps the source of evil, or what it is/why it's here).
3) She wins the battle, learns something and the creature dies.
4) She wins, learns something and the creature becomes human again.

Or if there's something else you'd prefer entirely?

XD His. I may be RPing female chars this time, but I'm male. Taure Tavari was my first ever character I wrote (and still do today), but I RP all sorts.
Whoops! I apologise for that!

As always, great posts so far! I enjoy reading them!
For the bloody girl group, do we let her go or save her? Ironically, because of the prayer mantra she recited, Ash would kill her. So, if anyone wants to save the bloody girl, then do so before I get to it because if not, Ash will off her.
i'm sorry she kills in the name of faith :' (

First, never apologize for double post here. The more posts the better, I say. Keeps the thread alive. Plus, the more discussion the better for our game. And I love all the ideas you guys have.

Second, two things. One, I think this world feels very much like to get something valuable, there is always a cost. That said, your characters feel experienced and powerful, to me. And this cannibal, though maybe supernatural, isn’t really consequential to the story other than showing what the madness here can do to mortals. Which he’s done. At least in my mind that’s how I was playing it.

Two, something else I wanted to play up was that the Church was going to be a safe haven for the townspeople. They thought it was safe here because it’s “sacred ground” and a sanctuary of the gods. But the madness spilled inside and took them here too. But, I was thinking there could be a group of survivors that locked themselves in a room of the strorage basement below the church. And I had pictured more of these insane cannibals pounding on the doors into the room, trapping them.

None of that has come to play, yet. So, play it as you like. And write the fight here with this first guy as you wish. There will be battles that I will ask for a sacrifice or a cost, but they will be more consequential.

Thoughts from everyone else?

I really appreciate you articulating your vision for the game and its themes. It's very helpful in planning what to write. Keep it up. :)

Roger.

You'll come to find my default play-style for even dice-based games is to eschew secrets and give as much info as possible. It's more fun and lets the players get in there and shake it up.

can anyone give me an idea of geography? cal and shae hadn't noticed the party before, so is the party coming out of a treeline? cresting a hill? how were they close enough to hear what was being said? or was it only cassie that could hear the child, since cassie moved closer?

I hope you like my beautiful artwork that carefully demonstrates where everyone is and what's happening. I spent 14 hours selecting PS brushes and painting and shading and analysing the chiaroscuro of the piece so that it conveys the message properly.
It's going on display in the Louvre next month for National Art Month.
