Avatar: TLA (Necro and Kuroi01)

"Good luck, my son..." spoke Ozai, only sentence, as they stopped near their family, one last that they might see each-other for likely years. He even touched his shoulder, looking him in the eyes - it spoke something, that he wouldn't say yet always held for his children: make me proud.

"Goobye, my boy...and my niece," added Ursa, as she, usually hugged Zuko and suprisingly for her and for the other member - hugged Ly, he was shocked at this affection.

(Should I post them, years later at the South Pole?)

Zuko looked his father in the eyes and nodded solemnly. "I'll make you proud father!" He said determinedly however he still had the appearance of a child even within his eyes he seemed no more than a boy playing soldier, only this time it was far more real than it had ever been before. After saying one last goodbye to his family he boarded the ship with Ly ready to set sail.

(Sure)

(Now enter grumpy-Zuko, xD )

Two years, that much had passed since they had set sail from the Fire Nation, and had been at sea for these years. They had scored some victories during those years - several coastal regions of the Earth Kingdom had fallen to their banner. It was a hard time, a deadly time then - when Zuko could barely wield a sword properly or firebend without freezing-up.

Injuries were a rarity for them, as most of the crew that Ly' ship contained were skilled veterans - anybody within this ship, could be more than a match for three regular army firebenders. They knew how to fight dirty too, in a way that combined their usual skills with something other. The engineers of the ship, could easily bash an idiot-attacker in with his wrench. The firebenders kept onboard could hit from several feet away, or they could take you down up-close too, if they wanted. That was how deadly and skilled they were.

Ly hadn't lied to him, that he would make this his hardest-part of his life. It started off slowly, as he watched as their troops were lead on the ground; then he would join them on several assaults, getting used to his armor and fighting-skills. Then he would command them himself - the threat of death looming over every choice, making it a reason to learn quickly...otherwise, well.

His grasp on firebending, was still albeit slow - learning as fast as somebody whom had freshly begun it. But he showed some promise, as despite being skilled in only basics, he knew how to use them to the maximum. Because, when it all came down to it - basics were still a were key-aspect in firebending. Physically he was improving, greatly - losing that childish-body and trading it something of a soldier; he had even managed to pick-up skills in dao swords. Which even she admitted, was great.

Currently, on their progress was checking-out the South Pole - a message having been sent to check for any waterbenders there. It had been several years since the Southern Raiders were moved elsewhere, yet the Admiral in charge of the region wanted it to be safe. So they had agreed to detour - it would be great learning for Zuko to see the colder regions too; giving him the possibility on learning not to rely on firebending too much and learn other fighting skills.

With that in-mind, Zuko was in the process of sparring with their resident weaponsmith, Toph. The young woman, whom was likely two years older, whom had taken extra measures to ensure, he wouldn't feel homesick. Although, that meant becoming a similar nuisance to what her sister Azula was - only she took it a step further. She was metalbender, as one would know on the ship - able to bend metal and her slightest touch, from that she was also an earthbender; although she made made it personally clear, she would never want to deal with that part of her life ever again. As far as Toph was concerned, she was a metalbender and not an earthbender anymore.

Despite her being blind, she had a way of knowing where people were - something like a wolfbat. She even knew, what one was feeling around them. And for Zuko, that meant she had teased him non-stop, nicknaming him Sparky. She was like her sister, only she could throw-back any insults he gave her with ease, since she knew how he was feeling.

From teasing him, playing minor tricks on him, to even flirting with him. That if he needed a bed-warmer, she was available.

"Come on, Sparky...my face is up here..." flirted Toph, as she blocked another punch by him. It was child-play to block and counter his attacks - she could see it, before he acted. But this wasn't a way to embarrass and flirt with him; well mayble a little - this was something to train his fighting skills, without any weapons or fire. It was also easy for her to get him riled up and not to hold back - and she wasn't in any real danger of getting hurt by his fists, as he couldn't hit her even if she had her back turned towards him.

(So pairing of Zuko x Toph? Yes or no?)

(The way you worded it I'd be disappointed if you didn't have the ship. I feel really bad for writing such short replies now...)

Zuko blushed darkly and tried to land a roundhouse kick to her head but again he was knocked off his feet, she was as unmoving as a boulder and whenever it came hand to hand he always lost. The only way he'd ever come close to beating her was when he accidentally burned her feet and afterwards he felt so bad that he stopped fighting. Though as they were sparring now he felt like she could win even if she couldn't use her feet to 'see'.

"Like you can see where my eyes are." He said trying to tease her back as he used every move and technique he knew to try and at least destabilise her a little bit, but if he'd learned anything the last two years was that Toph never budged if she didn't want to.

(That isn't short, its good enough. And if you have to write simple one-liners cause there isn't much else, then I'm cool with that. Atleast keep the story, that is what is important)

"Nope I can't..." replied Toph, giving off that usual mischief-smile - with always meant something was going to happen. "But I happen to feel, where most of your blood and muscle tension is located in..."

She would then utilize the distraction to knock Zuko off his feet, albeit while she would do that - she didn't happen to see, to which waters they had crossed over.

(Wait for the hilarity)

His face went even more red as she said that and he wished he could read her as well as she could read him, it was beyond annoying for him to be so see through to her and to not be able to tell if she was ever serious about what she was saying.

As he was knocked down he put his hands down to catch himself and quickly popped back up ready to perform another strike.

As that moment Toph decided to strike again, but suddenly lost her footing - at the sudden sharp contract that enveloped her foot. Barreling into Zuko, and likely taking them down again. Albeit this time she would be ontop of him, in a rather akward way too.

Ly whom was reading a book of some-sort, merely gave a quick look at them, and at the weather that started to shift around them, growing colder. "We reached southern waters, so colder. And metal and cold don't work too well on bare-flesh," spoke Ly, not sounding much suprised. At the antics of Zuko and Toph, it kinda reminded her of home. And, as she had found-out, he put more force behind his blows when he was a little irridated.

"But heat does..." added Toph, proping her head up with her hands, keeping her elbows on Zuko' chest, and gave that flirty grin again...at him. "Doesn't it, hmm Sparky?"

Zuko was caught completely off guard as Toph suddenly slipped and fell towards him, so as she fell on him his body offered practically no resistance as he toppled over onto the cold metal surface of the ship. He could understand that it was kind of slippery but being there with her made him feel unbearably embarrassed.

Her question only made it worse for him and he looked away from her, he wanted to say that if she wanted heat she could go inside but sparring with her was really helping him with his technique so he just stayed quiet.

"Alright you two, go head inside..." spoke Ly at them like a mother would at her children. That usually entailed to obeying or rather being dragged instead and pissing her off. And nobody wanted that, the last guy whom attempted that was some big-shot Earthbender Warrior. And he was likely used as fertilizer on a farm-patch likely now. "..gets some warmer get-up."

"Fucking that..." cursed Toph, touching the bare metal with her feet. She could see on rock, metal too - but frozen metal was a different thing. It was like trying to see with your eyes in the cold - it stung and it was difficult to understand what you were seeing. And with her feet being more sensitive to stuff of that - it was like trying to walk on water, with the images all muddied up. "A little heads-up Princess next time, I can't focus greatly on icy metal. Its like trying to read underwater..."

She then changed her mood from annoyed, to flirty directing her look at Zuko. "Say Sparky, fancy helping to carry a lady to her quarters?"

Looking at her he sighed and shook his head a bit. "Fine, get on my back." He said standing in front of her and crouching down, he was sure that she'd have no way of teasing him if he carried her like that. It wasn't like he was holding her in a princess like manner so that wouldn't be an issue, not to mention it was easier to put weight on his back as he'd gotten used to heavy lifting on the voyage as well.

"Thank you your highness..." she spoke, wrapping her arms around his neck, and her legs around his waist. Might've been better to carry in a princess-carry - as this might send even stranger messages.

Even Ly managed to raise an eyebrow at their antics, and that was hard to do, with a figure whom was control reincarnate - even Azula could be driven mad by her stoic personality, when Ly wanted it to be that. She then turned her look back into her book. "Just get some warmer clothing-on, you can continue your kissing-fest back at your cabin's."

(What messages can it send?)

Zuko ignored the strange looks from the others and instead glared at them as he took Toph inside, this was the best method he could come up with for not being made fun of by Toph. Once they were inside he set her down and looked at her briefly, she was always playfully flirting with him and it drove him absolutely mad sometimes.

If he could only tell what she actually thought of him he'd finally be able to calm down and think about what she said much less, the only times he could really tell what she was thinking was when she was mad.

(I could call it somewhat over-protective, as you can free you arms and fight back. The carried being able to hold on, versus the bridal-one. Albeit, yeah...hehe...just messing with Zuko)

"Cat got your tongue? Or is it a dragon with you people?" asked Toph, starting that teasing routine again. One could never know, how she acted - the crew didn't mind her much, as she didn't seem to bother them much; although whenever, they had gotten rolled against by Toph' minor pranks. They usually laughed at the pranked and got back to work, without any hostility a day later.

Although he was always the subject of her, more-so than usual. Waking-up with his stuff missing, or hidden in her room - where he would have to go an get it back. One time it even involved stealing his pants, with him having to retrieve it, wearing in full-armor and looking comical at that. Maybe, if one asked her directly - it seemed to work, when Ly interacted with Toph.

(But Zuko knows Topher can handle herself and she would never accept being defended like a damsel xD )

"Do you want me to take you back outside?" He asked crossing his arms and turning to face her, she always seemed to take any chance she got to tease and embarrass him. At the start of it all he had been beyond pissed off and had even been violent as he tried to convince her to leave him alone, but by now he was used to her antics and actually liked her company despite her not changing much at all.

She was a good friend to him though he wished she wouldn't constantly flirt with him the way she did, it was torture for him to resist just kissing her or something. Still even if she had very keen senses no one could read his mind.

"Oh boy, guess that I won that wage," giggled Toph, having had changed already when he had turned around. She sported a thick bull-cow coat, in the color of red. Even the her foot-wear was changed, albeit if one would ask, they would still not get an answer on how she did that. "Either your as thick, as you say your sister thinks of you. Or your even better than me at hiding your emotions. You still haven't a clue on why I interact with you...or the clues that Ly has dropped."

She went upto him, and while one could expect her to same something snarky or flirty again - she instead leaned close at kissed him. On the lips too, drawing back - her sightless eyeing almost looking through him. "Need a sign to go with that? Or did you get it already?" asked Toph, a smirk on her lips.

Now he was even more confused, she made absolutely no sense to him sometimes and always left him questioning what she said. "What wage? What are you talking about?" He asked not getting what she was saying but whatever it was he was pretty sure it was about him which meant that he didn't like it at all, but what he was going to do remained a mystery.

Suddenly feeling her lips on his Zuko stopped talking at all and he kissed her back briefly before she pulled away, when she did his face was as red as the uniform and he had too look away from her. "I-I think I get it... Maybe you should do it one more time so I can be sure?"

Toph smiled at that, getting more closer than was need be - maybe this wasn't the best idea. Although, that thought went out the window, as she leaned closer and kissed him again. This time she only used her mouth, if the Prince wanted more - then he would have to take it himself.

Zuko pouted and held her close by the waist and started to kiss her deeper and more passionately, he'd forgotten almost completely about everything around him. They had plenty of time before burning that village to the ground so it wasn't like anyone was going to come in and interrupt them.

(*trollface*)

They little activity was interrupted by the ship suddenly coming to a screeching halt - as one had simply dropped anchor, right then and there without slowing down. Ly' voice soon echoed throughout the ship' speakers. "Attention. Everybody report topside, armed and ready for combat," spoke her voice, before cutting it. Now that was cause for some concern - a small village, requiring the full-arnament of strike-force.

Albeit that problem was secondary to the one, the two would find themselves in. Namely Toph being between her bed and Zuko, from the sudden jerking. "Easy, Sparky. How about flowers and dinner first..." giggled Toph, about their predicament.

"How about we check what's so important first? This isn't even the stronger water tribe." He said quickly pulling away from her and straightening himself to out before heading to the deck quickly to see what was happening, if Toph wanted to come she could but he had a feeling that the cold would be hell on her feet and he wouldn't push her to do something that would hurt so much.

Their grouping of elite veterans already stood in attention, both spearmen and firebenders. Ly was currently eyeing, the village, with their ship ducked behind an icy-glacier - what she was seeing didn't sport good things from her.

"Take a look," said Ly, tossing the spyglass over to Toph - whom easily grabbed it. Coming outside, dressed as warm and snuggly as a polar-bear, all in red-color too. She then handed it to, Zuko - whom would get a good look out of the village. There moving about the village was a single figure, that easily stood out from the blue and white. Somebody whom was dressed in yellow and orange.

"...I think this calls for a moment of painting me red and calling me a dragon..." muttered Toph, sensing their discomfort.

"Indeed, either we have a airbender hermit, somebody who is a regular hermit and wearing airbender stuff. Or likely...the Avatar is here..." spoke Ly, growing very serious in her tone, that even Toph seemed to loose her cheery-attitude. "All hands, prepare for combat. We dock, then full phalanx formation. Spearmen at the front, firebenders at the back. Toph, stay on the ship - incase the Avatar tries to sink our ride. Zuko with me. Its time we finish this war..."

(Could you control Aang?)

Seeing the boy with an arrow on his head wearing monk clothes he almost couldn't believe it, they had found the avatar. If they killed him that would end the cycle, forever. Then there would only be three more to kill and then there would be no hope for the other nations at all. Or they could capture him and lock him up in a high security prison... Either way this would be a deciding battle.

"Yes sir!" He responded and watched as everyone got in position, this moment would be marked in history books for future generations. The day the fire nation wiped out the avatars.

-

Aang was apologising to Katarah about sending off a flare in an old fire nation ship, neither of them noticed what Sokka sensed though he kept saying they were in danger and that they needed to move now.

Before their discussion could go any farther, there was already villagers screaming of Fire Nation ship. This one was cruising at maximum speed, only suddenly dropping its anchor in the ice to slow down its movement - before it smashed through the village.

Then its bow-opened up, revealing a skilled formation of troops in line; spearmen at the front and firebenders at the back. Leading them all from the front was a woman, whom looked like a young adult - yet she carried herself in a way, that spelled only death.
