Teh Frixz Is a bit trickier for me, I don't recall much on lightning bending, in fact I forgot there was lightning bending til I recalled Azula and since checking the wikia, Iroh. But then again they could be a future teacher to Ulva for lightning bending. So easier if we go down that path also could add extra weight to the plot since she's from/has ties to the fire nation. Perhaps she would have known of or known Yazua and visa versa? Makes the connection all the more possible and easier to slide in if so. As a thought.
Those are my two cents (: it comes down to extra benders or no on that front.
Side-note: Looking at the wikia for lightning bending and found a great fit and something for Yuu to work towards or one day learn... Spirit bending. No idea it existed but reading the summary and it sounds like a good fit for him and his style and personality.
I actually included in Yazua´s abilities that she is learning lightning bending. Its a strong, but not uncommon part of fire bending, even if few are able to do it. Yazua struggles with it a lot, but i intend on having her later be quite skilled at it.
Yazua will however only be able to create and use them, not deflect/defend agianst them. There is canonically only one bender that was able to create lightning and deflect it both, which was Zuko, but only because Iroh, the inventor of the deflection taught him. In this world, neither exist.Maybe
For knowing each other, that could be possible, though it would be more of a "saw that person before" than a real relationship i think.
I think these are excellent ideas and can easily be worked together. Vette, once her shit is together, would be an excellent sort of ‘lightning rod’ for others to shoot bolts at. If I recall correctly one of the harder aspects of lightning in the show was the inability to practice on living targets. Maybe Vette can fill that role?

Since only Iroh and later Zuko were able to defend against them without dodging, yes, practicing was somewhat hard.

By the way, once she is at peace with herself and at her full potential, i intend for Yazua to have a very controlling bending style. By that i mean she wont be as aggressive/pushy as for example Azula was (even if she is heavily inspired by Azula and Zuko both) but instead will have a very different, yet still aggressive style. She will try to control the pace of the fight without letting her enemy know. She will be pushy at times, then suddenly turtle up in defense. She might just make mistakes on purpose, that she can deal with, just to bait out certain movements or punishes from her enemy, as traps.
Fire bending was based on shao lin kung fu, when it comes to its movements. And i´ll take that a step further. Yazua will be the incarnation of the chinese hooksword. You can be quick and aggressive with it, using the spikes at the back. You can be defensive and slow with it, using the blades. Or you can suddenly use it to trap enemies, using the hooks. Its hard to put into words, but i hope what im trying to say somewhat comes across?

Yes that's the one. Only saw the original series and only the first few minutes of the pilot for Korra so never knew about spirit bending and other specialized forms that came outside a vague memory of lightning and recent reading over blood bending.
And wow missed a lot in the time away from screen. But yeah

CS, I can say that I like her. I think she'd be excellent when it comes to filling out a role that has to do with lightning bending.
As for

I was out so I couldn't type much before my phone died, but since Uri is Earth Kingdom royalty she could also fill the role of maybe understanding the way the nobility works and helping our characters weave through the corruption (along with Yan) whenever they have to deal with the Earth King's shenanigans.

Spitting out fire is even more difficult than just bending it, how would she have managed that? Especially since she is a water bender, so fire is the element she should struggle most with

Maybe I have forgotten someone in the lore. However the idea was she did it with any skill or anything relating to the proper sun warrior bending, she was once so angry she lashed out at her father and produced a torrent of uncontrolled fire which nearly set fire to the castle.

Im still not sure if that would work but if you want, its your character.
Im not sure how much pure anger would help there. Firebending doesnt come from anger, it comes from drive, from inner motivation. Somebody without a goal or drive to go on wont succeed in firebending. Thats why Yazua for example is so much weaker than she could be, she doesnt know where she belongs and has inner struggles that limit her drive. Same can be seen with Anng in the series or Zuko after he converted to the "good" site, as he lost his main goal, chasing Aang.

That sounds nice .... I haven't made a character or anything... So I may not be the best to judge that accurately.Do you think the OP will accept a concept similar to the Legend of Korra... in which essentially a Dark Avatar is around ...? I've kind of wanted an interesting contrast for a long time in a Avatar RP ... But I'm unsure if that would be accepted.
