At the Adventurers' Table

The roundabout sounds good to me, even if we should have gotten a level up for dropping that hydra so quick. (x_x)( ;) )

Whoa... That's a ton of stuff right there. I'll need some time to post OOC & IC, don't leave me behind meanwhile...! *woof*

I'm percolating answers to many of the questions posed for our characters. I just need to see that morning has come and everyone is ready to move forward with the roundabout. I don't want to jump the gun and just start posting ahead of time.

Wolf? Don't think that you have to post all that at once (and I'll pause to keep you in the loop as I've tried to do in the past). I'm just giving you guys my itinerary while asking for yours.

Does anyone mind if I fast-forward to late morning of the next day?

I spoke with Kaerri; she's good with skipping to the next morning, too. How about this: Hey, Wolf & Killfire? If either of you want to have done something the previous evening (besides get some needed rest *points at Leonard Wolf* =) ), please post something with the heading "Earlier..." on it and I'll tackle it? =)

The "ton of stuff to do" part is mostly meant for the OOC, just like you Dann. IC I am ok with skipping to morning, but Wolf would have spent at least a few hours on watch before signing off, positioned at the front near the horses and/or on the roof of the wagon, regardless of whether someone else came along as well.

That works and is wise of the both of you. Watching is good! =)

Say that Wolf and Otiorin agreed to split the watchdog duty then? Wolf took the first shift and Otiorin the second, allowing for an overlapping period where they had a conversation that I'd like to RP somewhere or just draw out the conclusions here in OOC. If that works with Captain *woof*

In other news...

- I notice that you've been using Bria to try and bring upon some kind of (meta)game discussion about tactics and getting to know each other etc. I am at least somewhat for it, but when? Over breakfast? (o'v'o) When we stop next time, assuming the stop doesn't immediately follow up with a meteor strike? (@V@)

- The village might as well be Dalsus. Wolf was brought up by friends of his father who was a ranger there, and who one day appeared after a long absence with child Leonard only to depart soon after and never return again. This much it says in Wolf's bio. I haven't given any thought to his family. Real family, that is. He did leave behind some friends as well as the people responsible for bringing him up, but as for his parents... Well, Wolf can't know who his mother was or why his father came back to the village with the baby without her. I imagine his father to have been around Wolf's current age (around 30) back then. That means now he would be no older than 60. I have no real desire to pursue family quests or have his family members show up, but I have nothing against it either. I will work with what I get. Though it would be pretty funny if the boy from the wilderness turned out to have some noble origins lol, or Maker knows what else.

- And yes we do need to finally determine what everyone knows of everyone. Wolf, Luna, and Otiorin have been on "several" missions together before, remember? Bronze was somewhere around too. Wolf doesn't have any dark secrets that he is hiding. Of course if he did, I wouldn't describe them here LOL (B^D)

- Wolf is a curious and adventurous spirit, and his life goals reflect this. When he is not kissy-facing his favorite pet sorceress he will be looking out for opportunities to hunt down and interact with any interesting legends about mystical beasts and things/places of the unexplored wilds. His hunger is strong enough to distract him from worrying too much about safety in advance, so it would not be surprising if he even set out on his own or split from the party at some moment (not if they were in danger of course, especially my wittle wuna <3) if it meant getting a moment alone with a legendary pokemon beast of the wilds. Upon arriving to Highwind he will try learning about the tales of the North, share his own stories and then see what he can do.

- I can't say that I was trying to come up with my other Signature ability all this time, but now that I am trying to I am still nowhere with it. Yikes. I'll try drawing an inspiration from somewhere. I mean I could just do what Sherwood did and go for something like that but... meh.

Probably some things I didn't address, but those likely don't interest me enough *woof*

You'd better be careful; if Luna hears you call her 'your favorite pet sorceress', she might get a little peeved. "I had better be your only sorceress, mister! And I am not your pet!" <plants her hands on her hips in righteous indignation, doing her best to look fierce>

Wolf sez,

- I notice that you've been using Bria to try and bring upon some kind of (meta)game discussion about tactics and getting to know each other etc.
It is more accurate to say that I am getting these loose ends tied up by working with Bria (who has always asked questions of this nature in every adventuring team she's been in). Even if I didn't have loose ends, Bria would want to know these sorts of things. She sees them as vital to a team's long-term prosperity (an idea brought into her by the Ko culture. If you had another Ko in your party besides Bria, I well-imagine he or she would be asking these things too. Heck, if you had two in the party, this would have probably come up much earlier!). =)
Powerpaw, on the other hand (paw?), would likely not have brought this up at this time. So, if say, you had wanted another divine caster in your party besides Bria, I would have introduced another NPC I have into the mix. And if that NPC wasn't inclined to know, I would have just started off tying up the loose ends in OOC, I suppose. But that's less fun! =)

Wolf sez,

I have no real desire to pursue family quests or have his family members show up, but I have nothing against it either.
O.K. I am more driven to go with players who have such a desire than those who would rather not (or are neutral in that regard).
Wolf sez,

- And yes we do need to finally determine what everyone knows of everyone. Wolf, Luna, and Otiorin have been on "several" missions together before, remember?
All too well! Hence this entire chapter being devoted to these sorts of things. =)
Re: "Pet" sorceress. Oh dear! Is this Wolf getting Luna back for that "bitch" comment in OOC two chapters back? I remember Leonard reflecting on it. Hah!

I was pondering the post when I wrote it up, specifically the part: "favorite pet sorceress" but specifically "pet". Boy am I glad I didn't change anything (=u=)

But if that's not the way Luna plays, I guess Wolf can pose as her pet then (B') as long as we get to kissy-face *rawrrr*

p.s. fun fact: Petal got me a wolf collar as early as a few months into the relationship ( :P )

(Storyteller Mrph...) RP Nation keeps throwing Spoiler opening and closing tags into my script regardless of what I do to remove them. Sorry for the double-spoilers, but even when I go into BB Code Editor and erase them, RP Nation decides to put them back in another spot near where the last was deleted.)

The WYSIWYG editor here has a plethora of bugs, but I still use it because I got into the habit of doing so. Before, while I was still an active member of a local Tolkien fan site (place was kinda my other home just like this community is now) the editor was very basic so you had to BB code alot. I mean there were the main buttons for auto-insertion but you'd still see the code, not an immediate preview.

I understand why people like this better, but that good old editor? Zero bugs. Not one ever *woof*

Here I have to go and fix the code nearly every time I try to do something more advanced, and don't even get me started on the character sheets in Amaranth. That universal template I applied everywhere may look great, but it was the product of much gnashing of teeth. So much in fact that it's why I locked the threads afterwards. Can't... let... anyone... disturb... perfection (@V@)

Btw Dann, new day means my daily spells recharged right? I'm gonna go and pick two new ones for today *woof*

But first good night to you all. The Sun might be up in Sharseya, but it' nearing 0130 hours here. Gonna curl up in the den and pretend I'm not all alone *howl* (my cat doesn't count)

Re: Spells. Yes, Leonard must spend one hour of meditation time to do this (don't worry; I include it in your character's rest time, so choose away). =)

Also, sorry to all if I went too fast and far ahead with the next chapter. I just realized just how much I've been typing recently (and realized it may be too much at one time).

So much post! If it's all the same to everyone else, I'm just going to start with Bren's response to everyone's most recent postings and let the rest go by for later.

Yeah, folks? If your hyperactive Storyteller is going too fast and needs to slow down, don't hesitate to let me know. =)

I have put up a post for Luna in the Roundabout. I'm sure that there are many things that I missed from your list of things you'd like to know, but at least it is a start.

Yeah, to my surprise, I saw that. There were a few things in the Roundabout that you appear to have missed, bud:

1. Instead of people just posting their character's information when someone seemed finished, I was going to have the players decide who was next (Wolf, for example, doesn't seem ready). Hence the fighting stick being the "microphone". It's also why I had Bria go first (to set the example and the pace).

2. The Roundabout (since Bria's telling) has two separate parts (it had three, but I changed it): Tactics and background/aspiration. Remember: we have two players who have never played this game before. This tactics talk is especially for them so they can get to understand the game. For Luna, examples might include tactical questions like these: Generally speaking, what kinds of spells does Luna like to cast (not just for the Craven fight)? What is an evoker (our new players might not know)? See Bria's example if it helps.

Also, Sherwood, there is something very important I wanted to bring up prior to Luna's post: The name Luna Kaftan is copyrighted (by none other than that wonderful Ogre, Piers Anthony). While your character can pretty much have any name you want her to have, I am not comfortable using the last name Kaftan in Sharseya. I was going to to ask if you minded either creating another family name or if you wanted, I would do so (again, your character; your pick). What do you think?

Something else I wanted to bring up to everyone prior to the passing of the stick concerns family history for your characters. Post away with yours, but please be open to some maneuvering if something needs be changed (like, let's say, the name you have chosen for your character's beloved dad is the very name of a bad guy in my world - you probably wouldn't want that. Silly example: "Yes, my daddy? His name's Gerran. Charming guy!" *The rest of the Wanderers' narrow suspiciously* =) ).

Sherwood, as for the rest of your character's history, I think it works. I don't have a problem with Sparkle knowing your father or Luna having known her for 13 years (nearly half of Luna's life). The siblings and the rest seem pretty solid and the household fits quite well in Summerset (that seems to be where you want Luna to be from).

A gentle reminder: Everyone, please follow the structure I wrote up for the Roundabout. As always, if you have questions; I'm your storyteller, so ask away. Thanks! =)

Sherwood, Re: Last name of Kaftan. Kaftan could certainly be an adventuring name (like "Mr. Underhill" was for Frodo Baggins). I don't want you to change your character's name; I just want one that I can use. =)

I'll go ahead and change Luna's last name to something that won't run risk of copywright infringement. Would you like me to tweak Daddy's name, too?

I just need a different last name for the family, thanks. Do you want to create it or shall I?
