Indeed, Bren the fighter/ranger with favored enemy (Giant) just took advantage of this. ;)
 
There is a figure just below the six approaching ogres, but I don't see a map key to identify him anymore. Who is that? Is it Gerran? I want to make sure.
 
I was starting to think the battle would end by the time it was Wolf's turn, but finally it's here and hopefully worth the wait! *howl*

Wolf, that second shot is a miss, but the third (hasted) action is a confirmed critical hit! Longbows critically hit for x3 damage dice, so roll 2d8 more damage! =)

In the latest news: That is one dead ogre!


However, the life beyond the computer screen doth beckon, so I will have to post IC later. Nice shootin', Tex! =)

Anyway back to tactics...


Sherwood don't hesitate and go torch those fools. I mean the big group of ogres, while they are still all clustered. Just do as much damage as possible because:

@Wolf Rawrrr O.K. I spotted an apparent goof in your battle math. Wolf is using the Manyshot Feat. This calls for one attack that simultaneously fires two arrows. This means if that first attack roll hits, both arrows strike.


My solution (ruling): The second attack still misses (the Action Point is still spent). Your damage rolls for "Damage #1 and Damage #2" still apply (as both arrows hit from Manyshot). The third attack roll (the haste-born critical hit) still stands. The ogre falls. Wolf has fired four arrows.

O.K. I will post Gerran and the Painless's actions followed by Bria's sometime soon. For now (and in large part due to Real Life), I'm "out of brain." =)

@Dannigan - the goof is mine but not the way you think: I have erroneously stated that I am invoking Manyshot when in fact I was using Deadly Aim, and the bonuses/penalties applied match the description of Deadly Aim. So only the label was wrong, sorry about that >.<
 
Ah! And here I was changing the math in my mind to match Manyshot! I was wondering where the other bonuses were coming from. Still.... there is one less ogre... =)

Ha ha ha! Such is the price of the hyperactive and passionate mind, I suppose, but this is the way I have always been and I would not have it any other way! =)


More IC stuff (and hopefully soon-to-be dead ogres) after I return from Real Life! Just be ready - it is Gerran's turn to reward your heroics with his special brand of deviltry. Go Wanderers! =)

O.K. It is Saving Throw time for lots of people!


I need both a Reflex save and a Fortitude save from @Wolf Rawrrr @Sherwood


But I need two Reflex saves and one Fortitude roll from @Captain Hesperus


Wolf and Otiorin may add a +2 bonus to each saving throw (courtesy of the Protection from Evil, 10 foot radius spell centered on Otiorin). Unfortunately, Luna is just out of the radius and does not receive this bonus. Good luck!


Bria and Powerpaw are rolling saves too (Bria also receives the Protection from Evil, 10 foot radius bonus). The only one left out of this whole "saving throw extravaganza" is Bren (who is just out of range of the attacks on Powerpaw).


@Kaerri The battle-mage opened himself up for a chop of Bren's axe. Please roll an attack of opportunity. Also, please note that Bren now has bestowed on him the delightful knowledge that he has both the anger and the attention of every ogre near him...


 
And I hope to get to Bria's action and the new battle-map tomorrow...

Oh crud! I forgot that my numbers on the character sheet are with my own cloak of resistance, and I'm not wearing it at the moment. You'll need to subtract 1 from each roll. I'm sorry! (:<)

Sherwood, re: Saving throw bonus goof. No worries! I've learned that it's not about making goofs, but how you handle them (and I make my fair share! Hah!).


Captain Hesperus, re: Post move. I should have mentioned to roll all saving throws in the OOC thread here. =) Also, re: Saving throws. You did not add the +2 from your Protection from Evil, 10 foot radius. With it, Otiorin succeeds in every saving throw. =)


Fireball results: Otiorin takes no damage (Evasion). Wolf, Luna, Bria each take 15 points of fire damage.


"Gerran's cloud" results: No one takes damage or suffers ill effects, however the cloud remains at that spot. If your characters stay in it, more saving throws to avoid ill effects will be required.
