At the Adventurers' Table

Congratulations, Cap'n and lady! May you have many happy years together. (:3)

Ha ha, Sherwood. =)

Re: Gear. My only recommendation is to go with what you think Luna would do (which you do already). And if you don't mind the correction, I think at this point, most Luna's (and Bria's) gear is removed. You, of course, get to choose what stays. For reasons you have mentioned, I'm glad you have that Eschew Materials feat. =)

Yep. That was one of the top picks at chargen. I'll not cast any spells at this time, and I'll keep a pair of rings on.

@Captain Hesperus Hey, you. In your last post, Otiorin referred to Loviatar as a "god" when in fact she is a goddess. Given the "Maiden of Pain's" popularity, I doubt Otiorin would make this mistake (unless you think he is truly horrible in religious understandings). Feel free to edit?

@killfire Is Bronze talking to the faeries? Last I heard he was still at the smaller wagon where they are, behind (and hopefully hidden by) the larger wagon.

Bronze has not moved from his spot on the wagon-formerly-known-as-the-prison-wagon and therefore remains there. The Daughters of Summertime, the four horses pulling the wagon, and Star (Bren's war-horse tied to the back of the Adventurers' Wagon) are his only company.

Bronze is distracted at the moment, he's designing something so he goes into a Focus mode. Meaning, he's ignoring everything around him of no consequence. If something weird is going on, or requires some attention he'll look up. But anything up to that point he's unaware of. But, as a head's up there are things going on in the RL that is distracting me, so haven't been checking as often. If combat arises Dan you gots to smack me on the E-mail or phone thingie.

I think he might wave at em, then as em something odd like "Oh my, what are tiny ones like you doing here?" Note to the other players: Remember Bronze is totally oblivious to what you have all been going through, he has no idea you talked to a Rock, Rescued the Fairies from a bad wizard, or that there is a situation brewing in front. As I used to hear Sherwood, Dannigan, and almost every GM I know would say... "ROLE PLAY IT!"

@killfire Oh yeah. You know we will. =) Here's an important question for you and Bronze, though: Do you want Bronze in combat, should it happen, or do you want him to rabbit (pardon the pun)? As it stands, I'm going with what you wrote in the in-game thread (Bronze loosening his hammer and attempting to gain a tactical advantage).

Vent away, man. You know damned well you've got me in your corner.

I'll pray for God's will be done and for the happy future of that little girl. None of this is her fault (as many children grow up believing such until proven otherwise). I'm just glad she's got someone like you and your family there who are willing to take care of her.

So no, I don't feel bad for your or your family - I feel bad for the vet. "War is hell" is one of the truest phrases ever.

I always knew that you were a good guy to have around. Hopefully the Drama Llama won't be raising its ugly head too much over the next few months.

@Captain Hesperus

Then roll Otiorin's Bluff here (this assumes that Otiorin attempts to evade). Otiorin is roguish enough to know that Gerran is using his own Sense Motive skill in an attempt to learn the facts.

Thank you for the roll.

Here comes the next scene.

Enjoy. =)

I assume that I cannot cast my first spell until all the initiative rolls are in? Even though I had Haste lined up in my mind in case things went wrong? Can't hurt to ask.

That is correct - Luna cannot act before her turn any more than the Painless can act upon you (and they were just as wary as the Wanderers with similar preparations in mind).

My plans, my beautiful plans... Oti shall be having words with Powerpaw after all this, endangering Bria and all that....

Captain Hesperus

Cap'n sez,

...he groaned as he unhooked the clasp of his cloak and draped it over Bria.
Sorry, Cap'n. Just like I told Sherwood, you'll have to wait until its Otiorin's turn. I know it's only a rich yeti-fur cloak, but in combat it would take Otiorin a move-equivalent action to do it. (Still, Bria, in my head, thinks it's sweet of him.)

As for Powerpaw... I presume he'll take all the butt-chewing the party has for him (after all, he's been one to stress tactics and battle discipline). At the moment, though, it seems he has kind of lost his marbles.

My dear Fluffy @killfire. *hugs and chuckles* Whittle is the wife, Bonny (Bonabin) is the husband. They are both inside the Adventurers' Wagon where they have been since the start of the scene. Did you want Bronze to join them there? He can protect them in case the Painless enter the wagon. =)

I wanted to make a map but I fear my knowledge of the battlefield layout is insufficient. Can I get a clarification along with all other technical details, please? *woof*

After all the talk of Action Points, I completely forgot all about them until I saw the post where Dann used some. <smacks himself in the forehead> Duhh. I'll have to keep them in mind for this fight.

On another note, what AC bonus does Luna have from Bria's armor? I'm trying to debate on my wish list of spells and I want to know how long down the list my Shield and Mage Armor spells are going to be.

I just wanna say...
Otiorin gasped as Powerpaw reacted, then sighed as the whole situation collapsed.
"Can't we have even one plan go off without a hitch?", he groaned as he unhooked the clasp of his cloak and draped it over Bria.

"Heal his mother, then try to keep yourself safe.", he said to the Ko monk, before knocking back the last of the wine and jumping down from the wagon and reaching for his sword.
Otiorin is so cool. All heck's breaking loose, but the man takes time to finish his wine before launching into combat. (8))
Sherwood - I asked the GM if he was going to answer, and he gave me that "I just work here" look that he gets when I ask a question that he's not going to answer for GM reasons. So, I offer my guess instead: at one point in a previous adventure, Bria had a set of glamered leather armor, with some sort of magical AC bonus (I don't remember the actual bonus, but it did have one. +2 maybe?). It's possible this is that same set. I don't know for sure, of course, but that's my best guess. I'd say keep Shield near the top (shield bonuses stack with armor bonuses) but move the Mage Armor rather farther down. This is only a fellow-player suggestion though, I have no inside knowledge on this aside from hazy memories of a previous game.

It's true though - I just work here. =)

I plan (tomorrow, after some much-needed sleep) to try and use Paint or some other program to give everyone an idea of how exactly this is going down. Wish me luck! =)

Well, in the event that Luna is attacked and I need to reply with my armor class, I'll give my AC as it would be if the armored clothing was not there and let our illustrious Storyteller add on the numbers for the armor.

That was my plan too. That's the way I've run it in previous games and the method has long felt right to me.

Wow. Friends, we have 150 pages of Adventurers' Table... 8D

Let's "celebrate" with my first battle map (drawn with Paint, and oh, how I wish I had a graph). =)

Notes: The long rectangle is the Adventurers' Wagon. Behind (south) of it is Bren's warhorse, Star, followed by The-Wagon-Formerly-Known-As-The-Prison-Wagon. =)

Each horse (including Star) occupies a 5 foot wide by 10 foot long area.

Each ogre occupies a 10 x 10 foot square.

Mamapaw and her cage occupy a 10 x 10 foot square.

Powerpaw (always) occupies a 10 x 10 foot square.

Each Painless occupies a 5 x 5 foot square.

The six ogres that have just burst from the woods are heading eastbound toward the Adventurers' Wagon. Otherwise, you have a mad melee going on between Powerpaw, Mamapaw, and all of the Painless.

The Wanderers are, of course, collected around the drivers' area of the Adventurers' Wagon. This includes Stewart, but not the Meadowsweets (who are inside with your animal buddies/familiar).

Questions?
