A notice to all, Otiorin's plan may take a while to lay out as I am currently undertaking an epic quest of my own. I must cross this benighted realm I dwell in, seek out a mystical temple from which magical skyboats take wing and travel across the mighty ocean. After that, I will arrive at another mystical temple that I must then navigate, avoiding many traps and pitfalls that threaten to strip me of my coin pouch, the dreaded Dootee Frie Terminus. After that I must repeat that aerial journey twice more, to complete my epic journey of 5000+ miles. Thus, my missives may be terse and infrequent, as the mystical ether waxes and wanes along the journey. But rest assured, I shall be able to make good on my updates in about 48 hours.

As the non-guy in this group, I feel the need to comment. ( ;) ) However, RPnation didn't give me a "roll eyes" emote, so I'll just have to be amused instead. ( :P )

The stage is set for the Wanderers to hear Otiorin's plan, when Real Life allows. But Real Life (as always) comes first. =)
 
I guessed about as much for Powerpaw, but Wolf is unsure due to Powerpaw's unknown origins. You did state that none of us have ever seen or heard of anything like him, so the ranger can only speculate about the things he has not been able to prove or disprove about the kitty-face *woof*

Absolutely true. There will come a time where the Wanderers will learn things about his people. But until then, speculate away. Powerpaw may be hesitant to answer questions about his people and his origin, but he is getting to know the Wanderers better by the post. =)
 
I like the plan because as soon as I learned of the Painless and their intentions based on what they believed, a play-along scheme was the first thing on my mind. If this were a video RPG it's exactly the choice I'd have opted out for. Fool the enemy and get what I want - and be taken for a powerful haughty villain in the process. Quite flattering *rawrrr*


Except afterwards I'd kill them all anyway. Because at the end of the day they are the bad guys, and I'm the good guy. Plus I can use the XP and possibly some decent loot (if nothing else to be sold for more gold on top of the huge existing pile that I could never possibly spend) *howl*
 
I am totally in agreement with all parts of your plan, Wolf :D
 
I'm happy to follow up and obliterate these cancers once we've liberated their captive, after all you can't put a price on the freedom of sentient beings.


Other than the lives of the ones who imprisoned them...

Is there a visible effect to Mage Armor? Only if there is not, I would like to cast that spell BEFORE everyone gets there, since I am stripping off my magic items that increase my AC.
 
Just letting folks know, ehmygirl and I will be busy today so posting might be a little delayed. Getting married and so forth tend to intrude on Internet time!

Wow! I knew that you guys were a couple; I had no idea you were about to get hitched! Congrats, and my best wishes for many happy years together! My wife and I have just had our 19th anniversary and are on our way to an amazing 20 years married. Cheers!

Myself and Petal will be marking our 5th anniversary in several months, but we're not married yet. That's 5 years since we got together but it's been clear where we were heading even since then ;) *rawrrr*
 
As a wedding gift, I think that Dannigan should let us all level up to 8th before we get started in the next part of the adventure. Just an idea.(O:))

Re: Wedding gift. No problem, Sherwood! And as an added gift of challenge, your enemies are all now minimum 10th level. Everyone, thank Sherwood! *chuckle* =)


Re: Mage Armor. The protection is invisible, but tangible. Also, the spell radiates magic (of course) which could be noticed by anyone with a Detect Magic or similar spell up.
 
No need to make the bad guys tougher just on my account! lol


I'm just trying to make sure I don't end up dead if things go bad in this meeting. Obviously, most of my gear is going to be removed, but what about rings of protection? They can be passed off as just simple jewelery, and wouldn't be out of place.
