Sherwood, you're right about all that - I just don't want to start tweaking things without explanation; nothing like a storyteller who says, "Oh, Moonlit Edge? I decided to make that a masterwork weapon instead of magical. Didn't I tell you? Now, go ahead and make that attack roll on that minotaur Otiorin's in melee with..."

My main concern are the NPCs (and I don't mean just Bria and Powerpaw). I'm thinking, "How would this fight have gone if these minotaurs, who qualify for Vital Strike, possessed it?" The way Sharseya works is simple - in most matters, what is allowed for the PCs is allowed for the NPCs.

It's good to have your support though (not that I expected otherwise; I'm just in the habit of appreciating cool people with good hearts). =)

You always struck me as having a cool and level head on your shoulders, Dann. Thanks, though, for your vote of confidence in me.

Heh. Me, cool and level-headed? Not bad for a hyper guy! =)

Re: Powerpaw. I am allowing Powerpaw to use a free action to ask Luna for direction. Once he has acted, it will be Otiorin's go. =)

I assume that a simple statement like what Luna just made is a free action?

That's quite a lot for a free action. 8 sentences, however small, are too much. Can you narrow it down to something she can reasonably in, say, 6 seconds (1 round)?

Excellent! =)

EDIT: Or, to be more specific, both the length of her response and its content are excellent! Thanks! =)

Kitrin glares at her dice, willing them to behave themselves and back Luna up.

Oh, and while awesomeness is, well, awesome, it's always good to remember that in Dann's game, what's available to the players is available to the NPCs, including the evil ones! ( :P ) Sometimes literally...sometime maybe I'll tell the tale of when one of our PCs threw the Maul of the Titans at a bad guy but missed, and then the Maul was picked up by that same bad guy...

I remember that well and the out-of-game aftermath that followed. It changed the way the party took action from then on (and despite what happened to the characters, it was still considered a good time by all of us at the table!).

21 - Otiorin. Gravity Bow (8/10 round duration) and Shield in effect. Moonlit Edge +2 in hand. Using Stealth. In melee range of minotaur archer. Can attempt to Sneak Attack minotaur archer if desired.

15 - Bria. Using Force Shield ring and walking stick +2. Running after Luna. Using Ready Action (condition: "Heal Luna if wounded").

14 - Luna. Mage Armor, Shield, and Displacement (5/6 round duration) in effect. Sparkle status: Alert, on Luna's shoulder. Being chased by 2 minotaurs.

13 - Bloodland Minotaurs (3). Leader is dead! Greataxe wielder gravely injured, archer is seriously wounded, dual-wielding battle axe user is healthy.

12 - Kitrin. Armorless. Combat Expertise active. Using flail +2 and large, Darkwood shield +2. Behind dual-wielding minotaur (who has 10-foot reach). Healthy.

8 - Wolf. Using longbow. Pecker status: Alert, circling in woods above the battle.

6 - Powerpaw. Using Maul +2. Charged and damaged the archer minotaur (-2 to AC until his turn).

Wait, I missed with all three attacks? Man. Those dice didn't seem that bad when I first laid eyes upon them, I can tell you that ( :( ). That's what I get for sacrificing speed for damage, ya ya ya (> :P )

No, Wolf scored on that first hit, and while I recorded it, I forgot to add anything about it in the IC thread. Whoops! Editing now. =)

@Captain Hesperus Otiorin's math looks good. Roll that die and get that big, bad guy!

Should be in the Mechanics tab. I rolled a modified 14. Because apparently, the dice do not ever cut me a break. Ever.

Captain Hesperus

I likes the tabs too :) Is better than spoilers, to me.

@Captain Hesperus I must have read your post right as you were rolling, because there was no roll when I read it (before I scooted off to work!). =) And, yeah, you're right about the dice. One thing in Otiorin's favor though - because the minotaur is not aware of Otiorin's presence (and does not have 5 or higher ranks in Perception), I have to roll (again) to see if Otiorin is noticed. Fighters tend to have lousy Perception results... =)

Bria, by the way, is in my head blessing your dice (for Otiorin's sake). She does little things like that.. =)

Re: Tabs. I think they're fantastic!

Yep, Cap comes up with some good stuff on occasion. Its why we keep him around. lol

I won't post for Luna until I get the ok from you, Dann. Don't want to step on Bria's toes, just in case she decides to do something different besides hold her action.

Bria's "talking" to me now. I'll post tonight.

Ooh! I haz tabs in-character, too! Thanks, Cap'n!

@All. Is this method of showing initiative and situation below good for everyone?

21 - Otiorin. Gravity Bow (8/10 round duration) and Shield in effect. Moonlit Edge +2 in hand. Otiorin has been discovered. In melee range of minotaur archer.

15 - Bria. Using Force Shield ring and walking stick +2. Watching Kitrin and Luna. Using Ready Action (condition: "Heal Luna or Kitrin or herself if wounded").

14 - Luna. Mage Armor, Shield, and Displacement (4/6 round duration) in effect.

Sherwood sez,

Since the Bolt is a line attack, is there a way for Luna to maneuver herself to be able to catch both the minotaurs with it?
Oh, definitely. A five-foot step to Luna's northwest puts her in perfect position to nail them both. You're right about the attack of opportunity for casting normally in melee, but Luna is about to unleash a 120-foot line of pure flame at these guys (much bigger than the Scorching Rays, but you knew that. =) ).

Somehow, I doubt the greataxe-swinger is going to stop her from casting it.

lol Good deal. Damage is posted, DC of 20, save for half damage. IIRC, its 24 points. Mmmm, burnt cow. Yummy.

And a fumble on the attack of opportunity! How sweet!

I know. I read them where you posted them, thanks. =)

Meanwhile...

Dannigan sez,

[dice]3932[/dice]

[dice]3933[/dice]

[dice]3934[/dice]
Look, Cap'n! I think somehow, someway, Bria's prayer to ungank your dice just transferred all of the gank to this minotaur! What do you think? Ha ha!

Oh my gosh. This result of all results was a game-changer on our table-top game. Here... well... it's clearly not this minotaur's day. =)

My gosh!

I have rolled 1's repeatedly in Sherwood's Robotech game, I have rolled them badly as a game-master on table-top, but I have never effectively rolled three 1's in a row before! That's nuts! Unbelievable!

And it couldn't happen to a nicer jerk! 8D

I'm off to bed now. I don't have any more time to type out all that happens next...

...but I will. =)
