Re: Charge. Whoops! I just re-read this Combat Maneuver to discover that Pathfinder has changed the +2 damage bonus to a +2 bonus to the attack roll. This does not change either result (from Kitrin's attack or the Bloodland Minotaur archer on Wolf).

@Captain Hesperus Is Otiorin carrying the bundle Stewart gave him and Kitrin's armor (offered to him by the Meadowsweets)?

Just a comment on Feats; Powerpaw and Kitrin need to pick up the Vital Strike Feat. It requires a Base Attack of 6, but what it gives you is this: on the first strike of the attack, either ranged or melee, it doubles the dice damage of the weapon being used. There is also Improved Vital Strike and Greater Vital Strike and a fourth level, each one increases the multiplier by one so you are doing triple the damage, then quadruple the damage. It can be combined with Power Attack, making some very nasty damage rolls.

I agree, Sherwood. Good of you to point it out. =)

@Captain Hesperus

If Otiorin tries to Sneak Attack using his short bow, he will take a -4 for the shot (as he lacks Precise Shot). If he misses, he might hit Wolf. If Otiorin uses a melee weapon and successfully sneaks up, he will pass through the 10-foot reach of the minotaur without harm and flank his opponent, providing a +2 bonus to attack rolls to both himself and Wolf. The choice is yours (unless, at this point, you want Otiorin to use his action to perform some other action).

@Wolf Rawrrr

As a matter of fact, I don't recall you using any of Wolf's feats. Be certain to call them out here (or as a spoiler in the IC thread). As always, if you have questions, shoot! No, no! Not your long bow! Wait! I meant, "just ask," really I did! *takes cover* Hee hee. =)

Re: Vital Strike: We'd have to hit first. :P

21 - Otiorin. Gravity Bow (9/10 round duration) in effect. Shortbow in hand. Using Stealth. Can attempt to Sneak Attack minotaur archer on Wolf if desired.

19 - Bria. Using Force Shield ring and walking stick +2. Just used Prepared Action on Luna (Channel Energy).

14 - Luna. Mage Armor, Shield, and Displacement (6/6 round duration) in effect. Sparkle status: Alert, on Luna's shoulder. Being chased by 3 minotaurs.

13 - Bloodland Minotaurs (4), Leader seriously hurt, greataxe wielder seriously hurt, dual-wielding battle axe user and archer are healthy.

12 - Kitrin. Armorless. Combat Expertise active. Using flail +2 and large, Darkwood shield +2. In melee with minotaur leader and dual-wielding minotaur (who have 10-foot reach). Healthy.

8 - Wolf. Using longbow. Pecker status: Alert, circling in woods above the battle. In melee with the minotaur archer (wielding large longsword).

6 - Powerpaw. Using Maul +2. In melee with greataxe wielding minotaur and dual-wielding minotaur.

True. That is what I trust you fighter-types will take care of while I cower and fling spells from the back in safety. lol

But you're supposed to cower and fling spells from behind your front line in safety! What's happening to Luna now is a direct result of not following Public Safety Announcements, I tell you! =)

lol I just want to do my part in this fight, thats all. Next time, I'm making sure to be far behind Powerpaw, Wolf and Kitrin!

Aw, I was hoping you were going to reply to that with a funny. You know, something like, "Mages don't regard Public Service Announcements; they make their own rules!" or something equally cool. =)

Okay, I'll switch out from the bow to Moonlit Edge and attempt to shank the overgrown cow mooing at Wolf.

Captain Hesperus

Otiorin is preparing himself; good thinking. =)

Given the circumstances, placing the bundle in a hidden spot is a free action ("dropping an item"). There are so many bushes, trees, and piles of leaves about that all Otiorin has to do is just remember which one he placed the bundle in. Casting a Shield spell is his standard action while properly stowing his shortbow is his move-equivalent action. Taking a five-foot step is also allowed (since he has not otherwise moved) and creatures with a Base Attack of +1 or better can draw a single weapon during movement. If you don't mind, I will have Otiorin take a five-foot step toward his target (unless you state otherwise). This leaves Otiorin ready to prowl up and Sneak Attack on his following turn.

Was Otiorin also carrying the comfortable bag-like device which Kitrin's armor is in or was that left at the Adventurers' Wagon? Again, given the circumstances, I don't see why he would leave it behind (being a practicing Rogue with sufficient Strength, he could carry both bundle and armor without a penalty to his Stealth), but as a storyteller attempting fairmindedness, I must ask the player his intentions. =)

21 - Otiorin.
Gravity Bow (9/10 round duration) and Shield in effect. Moonlit Edge +2 in hand. Using Stealth. Can attempt to Sneak Attack minotaur archer on Wolf if desired.

15 - Bria. Using Force Shield ring and walking stick +2. Running after Luna. Using Ready Action (condition: "Heal Luna if wounded").

14 - Luna. Mage Armor, Shield, and Displacement (6/6 round duration) in effect. Sparkle status: Alert, on Luna's shoulder. Being chased by 3 minotaurs.

13 - Bloodland Minotaurs (4), Leader seriously hurt, greataxe wielder seriously hurt, dual-wielding battle axe user and archer are healthy.

12 - Kitrin. Armorless. Combat Expertise active. Using flail +2 and large, Darkwood shield +2. In melee with minotaur leader and greataxe-wielding minotaur (who have 10-foot reach). Healthy.

8 - Wolf. Using longbow. Pecker status: Alert, circling in woods above the battle. In melee with the minotaur archer (wielding large longsword).

6 - Powerpaw. Using Maul +2. In melee with greataxe wielding minotaur and dual-wielding minotaur.

@All. Kaerri is coming up with map (from the Paint program). Is that terrific or what? =)

Map! Otiorin's off the page, but he should be arriving shortly.

Map1.png

Oops, didn't change the key for land color... well, green is the new brown, here :)

@All Be aware that everyone on the right side of the map is moving eastward.

Thanks a bunch, Kaerri-darlin'! I cannot reward you in RP points, but I can make you a nice, warm lunch in gratitude? =)

Otiorin is doing as you suggested. A good Rogue brings as much as he can, when he can.

Captain Hesperus

Ok, I'll post for Luna now.

And another natural 20 on the leader.

Sherwood sez,

"The dice gods giveth, the dice gods taketh away. We will make up for it with a plethora of natural 20's in the future."
And there's another Nat 20 now! Awesome!

Please roll again for threat confirmation. =)

I must go to work now and I will post "moar" upon my return tonight. =)

I'll stick the crit confirmation roll here.

[dice]3768[/dice]

Looks like just a normal hit, unless his Touch AC is this low.

That's a critical hit! Roll damage! =)

As with the confirmation roll, I'll add the crit damage here.

[dice]3769[/dice]

32 points from the first roll, and 27 points extra from the critical strike.

The only thing that is going to stop that Scorching Ray spell are the three attacks of opportunity Luna must endure in order to move out of their reach in the first place (to cast safely). I doubt they will stop her. =)

@All Re: Forest Battle.

@Kaerri Kitrin gets an attack of opportunity on the greataxe-wielding minotaur as he leaves her threatened space. The same goes for Powerpaw on the greataxe-wielder or the dual-wielder. Because the minotaurs chose to charge, their Armor Class is -2 (but they add +2 to their attack rolls this round on Luna).

@Wolf Rawrrr Wolf does not get an attack of opportunity on the minotaur archer as Wolf is using a ranged weapon. However, Wolf may now fire unimpeded on his turn.

@Captain Hesperus Otiorin gets an attack of opportunity on the minotaur who has unknowingly entered Otiorin's threatened space. This first attack will count as his Sneak Attack should the attack roll strike. The minotaur is not likely to be this open to Otiorin a second time.

@Sherwood In order for the two bloodthirsty minotaurs to attack Luna, they must charge her; it is the only attack they have available that they have available when she is 40 feet away. Being the educated person she is, Luna would know that these Bloodland creatures are not likely to give up until either she, or they, are dead.

21 - Otiorin. Gravity Bow (9/10 round duration) and Shield in effect. Moonlit Edge +2 in hand. Using Stealth. In melee range of minotaur archer. Can attempt to Sneak Attack minotaur archer if desired.

15 - Bria. Using Force Shield ring and walking stick +2. Running after Luna. Using Ready Action (condition: "Heal Luna if wounded").

14 - Luna. Mage Armor, Shield, and Displacement (5/6 round duration) in effect. Sparkle status: Alert, on Luna's shoulder. Being chased by 2 minotaurs.

13 - Bloodland Minotaurs (3). Leader is dead! Greataxe wielder seriously hurt, dual-wielding battle axe user and archer are healthy.

12 - Kitrin. Armorless. Combat Expertise active. Using flail +2 and large, Darkwood shield +2. Behind dual-wielding minotaur (who has 10-foot reach). Healthy.

8 - Wolf. Using longbow. Pecker status: Alert, circling in woods above the battle.

6 - Powerpaw. Using Maul +2. Behind greataxe wielding minotaur and dual-wielding minotaur.

I think it's worth saying at this point - Sherwood, congratulations on your phenomenal luck so far (this is not a jinx or gank!)! You've rolled two critical hits and did not fall victim to one of their natural 20's? Plus, Luna wasn't even nicked on that last round when all three of them were on her? Go you! "Dice gods indeed!" Wow! =)

Ach. I was going to post but this is way too many pages for me to go through right now. It will have to be some hours later when I wake up *woof*
