Belated congrats from me, also. I can give you my personal assurances that marriage gets better with age. I've been hitched to my honey for 18 years.

Hear, hear!

Also, casting Detect Magic in a strong magical field may or may not result in:

I know there are gifs from Scanners I could have used, but they are too graphic for a PG-13 site.

Now that WolfRawrrr has posted, your Storyteller is now free to, well... storytell. =)

Re: Game mechanics in Luna & Wolf's scene: I was waiting for Wolf to act before I continued the scene (because I feel that is the fair thing to do). Concerning my next post, what I write occurs as Luna is opening the first chest and Wolf is using his Perception roll. If I went ahead and posted after Luna, then Wolf would not have had a turn.

Note that Sherwood posted again declaring he wants Luna to cast Detect Magic after having declared that she was opening the chest (this is important). Change in plan: I am going to declare instead that Luna cast Detect Magic prior to her reaching for the first chest and opening it.

The reasons I am making this change is for Luna and Wolf's benefit, and are two-fold: First, I want Sherwood to keep both of his declared actions for Luna (as opposed to me saying, "Sorry, you didn't cast that yet."). As for the second reason... well... I think you'll see why quickly. =)

EDIT: Which will happen tomorrow. Real Life Strikes! *POW ZAM! BOOM!* =)

Ok. I am sorry for trying to double up on my posts instead of letting you tell what horrors befall me for opening the Cursed Chest of Eternal Doom.

Sherwood, the second post is perfectly O.K. And please note - I didn't write that last looking for an apology.

I wrote only to tell all of you I was making changes and why. To me, it is an issue of clarity (clarity is precious to me, remember?). If I don't tell you and just make the changes, how are you likely to feel? Confused, right? "Why did he do that?" If you know, instead, in advance (and the reasons behind it), you read the post armed with fact instead of fiction. Clarity. Not illusions. Life has enough of the latter as it is.

What I am about to say now, I mean to humanity in general: I really wish my fellow human beings would take my words as they are without adding anything to them (which happens FAR more often in Real Life than in here). In serious messages, I am not one for additional meanings. I mean only what I say. Or put another way, with me, what you see is what you get. No more, no less. =)

Now I'll try to get to that in-game post tonight after all.

Oh. And the chest isn't cursed. =)

Thanks, you. =)

@Sherwood @Wolf Rawrrr You have initiative. Use it wisely. =)

Also, Sherwood? Please roll Knowledge: Arcana to see how much Luna may know about the guardians of the statuette.

Luna and Wolf are in melee with three creatures clearly proficient in melee. If they stay, they may fight in the bar and winery with all of the dangers that may include. If they flee, they can use their turn to run out into the pool.

EDIT: @ALL. One more thing. None of the other Wayfarers hear or know what is happening in the bar and winery - the soundproofing, you might say, is that good.

Hey Dann, just an FYI, I went with the Shield spell since you said that my magics were all recharged so my Mage Armor should still be up. If not, let me know ASAP. Depending on how well armored Wolf is, I may cast my next Shield spell on him.

@Sherwood Luna's Mage Armor spell is still in effect. It is the only spell currently active on her.

It is Luna's Knowledge: Arcana roll that might provide a little "magic" of its own, though.

Also, one little note here: Wolf did not warn or stop Luna from touching the first mimic; she was well on her way to opening the chest without him saying not to - I just thought she might pause when the beautiful treasure chest started waking up and sniffing her. Yikes, right? On the other hand, Luna is a young, imaginative adventurer who can certainly think he did, and such a thought might do well to further her relationship with Wolf? Nothing wrong with that! =)

@Wolf Rawrrr and @killfire What are Wolf and Bronze up to?

Also, Cap, I like how those @ signs of yours are directed at the characters! Hah! "Hey! Fellas! Watch out!" =)

This is what I thought of:

Cap'n's is scarier though!

Sure is! Still, both are accurate enough for our scene.

@Sherwood Given how close the winery is to the pool room, Luna can make it to the latter if she uses her full action to haul tail, or she can make it halfway there (and be in the adjoining hallway, outside of your fellow Wayfarers' earshot) and still cast something. The choice is yours. Either way, Luna would know for certain that Sparkle would, by now, be aware of Luna being in danger. Familiars are cool like that.

I will continue said scene once Wolf Rawrrr and Killfire have had a chance to reply. Until then, it looks like Otiorin is on his own for a bit. Post away as you please, good Cap'n, while I roll Wandering Monster checks for whatever may lurk in the forest Kitrin, Stewart, Bonny, and Whittle enjoy some well-earned good times! Hee hee!

Uh-HUH! I see what you did there!

Thanks for the continuous hold ups. I beat my previous record of 17 hours with 21 hours yesterday (0600-0300), but at least I was half-spared today and the whole thing is over so thank God *howl*

I shall get to posting immediately.

p.s. Ever since I lost my virginity in Anor Londo, I have been relentlessly and dependably attacking every single treasure chest both in game and reality - and my >250 hours in Dark Souls 2 can painstakingly attest to this *woof*

@Wolf Rawrrr Twenty-one hours of that and you think to post so soon? God bless you, Wolfie. I hope you get the rest you deserve, but from your words, posting in Sharseya is part of that joyous rest from long hours on the clock. It makes me glad to add to your joy. =)

Also, as part of Wolf's movement, he is allowed to draw a weapon. Given the situation, you may want steel or bow in hand.

Well I did get 4 hours of sleep before I had to work half the day today

I like it here *howl*

I was wondering about the weapon draw and you basically read my mind. It first occurred to me to have him draw his dagger since he intends to withdraw and only attack in case one of the mimics catches up to him and Luna, but I suppose that's not likely to happen so I'll just have him ready his bow so that he can unload on the beasties as soon as we find a suitable fighting ground.

Yikes, a 21-hour day! I hope the compensation's worth it. :smiled: And it sounds like you can catch up on your rest now.

Dannigan, can my singers voice reach Otiorin? Do kind of a operatic type "Return Immediately" type thingie. And since I'm an armorer I know I can clean and refit Powerpaws armor, I don't think the icky stuff would be too bad, since I've probably done this thing before. And I need an answer on that Ore. Can it be Smelted, then alloyed? I'll do my turn after I get more information from ya.

@killfire I would think that Bronze's voice is certainly loud enough, but he wasn't out front with the others to learn what happened to Otiorin. If you want Bronze to head there and find out, he can definitely try. Instead of a song, he might do better simply yelling.

Re: Ore. While the steel bars appear to be normal steel, the prismalcum ore that fell out of the sky appears anything but. Bronze has never heard or read about anything like it before. So, while the steel can be treated as steel, the prismalcum is another story entirely (as Koshianth suggested).

Re: Alloying. Pathfinder doesn't get into alloying. It just says what a fellow can do with the right materials (so a typical RPer can craft without any Real Life know-how). In other words, it is nothing for Bronze, once properly prepared, to make useful steel items with the crafting materials he has at hand.

Re: Cleaning armor. Cleaning Powerpaw's weapons to a professional level is a piece of cake for a guy like Bronze. That is, once the trio of snarling, growling mimics are dealt with! =)

@killfire @Kaerri @Captain Hesperus What are Bronze, Kaerri, and Otiorin up to?

Wolf and Luna are free to act again. Since the circumstances have changed a little, we return to non-combat time (as quickly as we entered it). Keep those Initiative dice handy, though. =)

Damnit. I correctly guessed the one in the video, but I don't know if Powerpaw is going to be as lucky.

Not an amazing roll, unfortunately. Too bad. With my bonus it could have been super.

@killfire Per our conversation, I thought Bronze was on his way out to find Otiorin?

@All Re: Three chest trick. Sorry. That's all on your characters and their Perception roll (should you choose to use it). =)
