Giant cannot be spoken by medium or smaller creatures without the use of a tuba.
Ha ha ha ha! That's terrific! You mean, Bren's never shown you his magical pocket-tuba he uses to speak Giant? 8D
That's a neat bunch of helpful comments, Dann, but I don't see any tangible language suggestions (where applicable)!
Correct! I purposely made no suggestions; I hadn't heard from Cap'n or Sherwood on the subject and I wanted their thoughts before I made any.
As for Draconic, to be honest, I always imagine the dragon language from Skyrim whenever I think back on the group's encounter with a dragon. The sharp-edged words and sibilant phrases seem to suit the snake-like tongue of a dragon.
I have never played Skyrim, but I understand the remastered version is coming out in September. Do any of you have advice on whether or not to get it? If so, do you recommend PC or PS4?
Thieves' Cant is, as Dann says, not so much a defined language, but a combination of verbal inflections, hand signals, drawn markings and so on that can be used in a public place to inform other thieves of some secret intent without the general public aware.
This. We're talking spy-to-spy type communication that, while it can be verbal, doesn't always have to be (especially if the message is simple). Two or more Rogues can go into a room filled with people and share an entire conversation with nearly as many details as a typical spoken conversation without anyone else in the room being the wiser. But woe to the Rogue that teaches Thieves Cant to a non-Rogue. Imagine playing a game where you never have the chance to Train for another experience level again (and that's just the beginning of your Rogue's troubles)...
Druidic is Gaelic.
Druidic in Sharseya is more than (Irish) Gaelic; there are hints of Beast Speech (the language of animals) in Sharseyan Druidic, making it one of the best languages to speak between intelligent peoples. Between two speakers fluent in Druidic, there is very little chance of someone misunderstanding a statement's intent or a word's definition when speaking Druidic. Things like body language, inflection, overall tone, facial expressions, and the like mix in with the words in a near-perfect blend of mind-to-mouth communication. Add to this that the Druids of Shandra's Evergreen (which make up the bulk of Druids in your neck of the world on Sharseya) are detail-minded people who take communication very seriously, and you have next to no mishaps in communication between Druids.
@Sherwood Do you have any opinions on this subject?
