Heya folks!

Well, I like RpN 2.0 a great deal, but there are a few kinks to be worked out.  For one thing, it seems RpN 2.0 cannot yet translate the BBC code so our posts don't yet read quite right.  =)  Also, while my NPCs made the journey over, your characters did not yet, and while I have it on excellent authority that this can and will be fixed, I would like it so before we continue on our game.  =)

What are your thoughts?

I expected a few bumps with the conversion. So long as everything can be fixed, I can be patient. I'm in the middle of fixing a bunch of posts in my other games.

All the equipment posts in my Robotech games have come across without their proper formatting, making them a nearly unreadable block of text. I've been putting in the spacing and returns to get the posts back in the right appearance.

You may want to hold off on that?  It's my understanding that RpN 2.0 has software that will read it properly; it just hasn't done so yet.

Exactly, Sherwood!  Heya Wolf!  =)

When I saw that the code was borked in Chapter Eight, I thought, "Oh my.  If I have to go and fix over two years of posts..."  Then I was informed that it was only a matter of time before these things were fixed, I felt great relief.  Now, I think it is time for patience on my end.  In the meantime, I do like RpN 2.0 and I like chatting with you guys.  =)

I'm sure I'm not alone in this feeling - I want to RP and soon.  I want the next scene to unfold (because I don't know how your characters will act or what they will do and I find that exciting), I want Wolf to play his new character, and I just want to get back into it again.  =)

Yes, the things which used to be BBcode will resolve themselves Soon(TM).   @Sherwood, are your Robotech games all where they're supposed to be? Some of them seemed to be mixed up with each other, last time I looked, but I was a little preoccupied at the time.

Not entirely. My original game could not be transferred over from the hosted projects board, and a different game was put in its place. So, I'll just keep my REF game in the old hosted games and go with the new ones in the others.

They'll all need to be moved at some point, if they're active. Let me know if I can help.

Are we holding on the fixes for the various codes and such before continuing the IC thread?  Also, since I have a captive member of the admins here, @Kaerri since the hosted REF game will need to be transferred over to the new dice system, should I start another Support request and say that the Archived materials don't need to go over?  I don't want the game to vanish in a poof of pixels if I don't act on this soon enough.

I've assigned your request to myself, since I know there were problems with earlier transfers and I'm familiar with the situation.  As soon as I get other things taken care of, I'll get started on it.  Don't start a new request.  ^_^   It may take a while but some of these HPs had over 50 threads, so I'm sure yours isn't too bad.

We won't be doing anything to the unmoved content for a little while, since we're still processing a lot of move requests.  I'm betting we won't actually delete any, anyway, probably file it away into the archives, but I don't know how visible they'll be once that's done.

OK, all of Sharseya should now be in its proper place!  (Now we just wait for the formatting to finish...) ^_^

I have :/

"Roll Initiative!"

"... I can't find it..."

I'm hoping the code will have straightened itself out in another few days.

Cap'n, love the cover photo you chose for your profile!   Hooray for Zoids! =)

Heya folks!

Just a heads-up.  There's a clock ticking inside my head and I can't read the numbers, but when its alarm goes off, I'm just going to start posting in-character.  I've still got the story I wanted to share in my head, but I'm afraid of losing it to time.  I want to wait for RpN 2.0 to correctly interpret our character sheets, past posts, etc., but that window is coming to a close.  If I have to change my story a bit to keep the game going, well heck!  What Dungeon Master hasn't done that for the sake of the game?

Until then, have fun and keep healthy!  =)

Honor and fun,

Dann =)

I have done some fiddling with Luna, checking out the new tabs to see how they look.  Not quite what I was hoping for, but it is a bit better than the block of text that it was before hand.  Of course, it may all be tweaked still in the coming days.

Wow, my character is featured on this week's Coding Gone Wrong episode *woof*

I'm not sure if all of the old code is going to parse, regardless of the time given. I saw some posts in Amaranth which sort of half-parsed, so I concluded that there's probably some tags that might never go through. Which means we'll have to do at least a minimum amount of manual labour to get the sheets back in proper shape.

Also, I bear a strong dislike towards some of the new functions of the post editor. I understand the intent behind putting everything in buttons, but it kinda feels like it's meant to be idiot-proof. Like we're not smart enough to figure it out on our own, so we need preset functions and buttons that do everything for us but type in the actual content. Not having the ability to see the source and edit it is a huge downside for me, since it was the only way to do some stuff right, and I seriously doubt the new editor is sufficiently smarter to do everything as it should. I specifically dislike the spoilers and accordions, but as new buttons are added I am sure I'll find many more to add to the list.

The previous forums I was on, not specifically an RP place but a LOTR fan site that was my default web place like RPN is now, over there the editor displayed only raw code. There were buttons, sure, like we have now, but you still always saw the source. I have to admit I liked the double-option thing we had previously on RPN, and I did use the what-you-see-is-what-you-get display by default, but I was very happy to be able to go into the code and actually get stuff done when I needed to.

I may post a proper rant in a proper place once everything is done, but so far I am not so thrilled with this whole update. The only thing I really like is the ability to admin my own RP's subforums. Waiting for the dust to settle to be sure, but I'm not holding my breath for wowness because honestly I do not want to suffocate *woof*
