I'll not put her into that unless there is absolutely no other choice. I will go ahead and cast both the spells on myself.

Is Luna really that dead-set on casting right now, under the circumstances? Yes, they'll be handy things to have up if this turns into a fight, but they might well be what provokes a fight. Seems counterproductive to me.

Not to sound impatient, but I will need an answer to such a question before I continue the story, please. =)

But as we wait, how about some terrific music to pass the time with? =)

Sorry to keep everyone waiting. Luna will go ahead and cast her spells on herself, starting with the Shield spell.

Here is your roll:

Wolf has no special actions to take. But as described IC, he is wielding his bow and standing ready to draw an arrow at a moment's notice.

Though that might be of little use if Otiorin really walks off-screen.

Thanks for the roll, Sherwood, and thanks for being clear about Leonard, Wolf. =)

Can I attempt a Perception roll to get an idea of numbers and locations of the people/creatures hiding around us in the trees? Also, is the werewolf in front of Otiorin visible to the rest of us, or is it still hidden in the trees out of sight?

I have rolled Perception for Luna. She believes your party might be surrounded by 10 to 12 creatures. She is not certain of locations, however she is certain she has only heard voices that seem to come from elves (save for that of the Voice of the Wood himself).

As for if you can or cannot see the werewolf...

The Voice of the Wood nears the circle of frosty light provided by the Moonlit Edge and with it... Otiorin and the Wayfaring Wanderers see this emerge from the cover of Shandra's Evergreen...
(bold mine) =)

Sorry, I've not been posting. University deadlines looming but I should be able to post by the weekend.

Captain Hesperus

No worries, Cap'n. Real Life Always Comes First! Do it to it, Bubba! =)

I'm not sure if I should post first, or let others post in response to Powerpaw...

Captain Hesperus

It's going to take me a bit to process all that, and respond to each part. I'm working on it now but it may take a while.

And that's why I want to hold off. I don't want to race ahead (despite really, really wanting to) because I don't want to leave anyone behind.

Captain Hesperus

I feel the same way, Cap'n! I know that was a lot of story to take in at once, but I was at a point last night that either I post it or I lose something crucial via distraction. Now that the scene is out of my head and on RpN, I am at a point now where I can write normal-sized posts again. =)

You are all free to reply to the scene in whatever fashion you choose. Just keep in mind that the scene (at least in my head) really is moving that quickly along. I understand if you want to reply in bits and pieces (that way, your character can say all the things that are in his or her head like mine did) or if you just want to reply to the scene at hand. The choice is yours.

It is worth repeating; if your characters want to take action in regards to the crystalline bird charm, Initiative is required here (I don't want it to fall to whichever player logs on first; that's not fair. Hence the dice to see which character is able to act the swiftest). This assumes anyone takes action (you can imagine what happens to the Grugach pack if you don't, and if you don't, what you imagine will likely come to pass).

Thanks for the likes! =)

Same here. I don't mind the length, it just requires processing. And if you say it all happened fast, then it happened fast. In that case there's no need to retrospectively address every paragraph with my character's thoughts and actions, which I don't enjoy doing anyway (no offense to Kaerri who seems to have a knack for that lol). I'll post soon *woof*

How far is Luna from where the crystal hawk lies? How many of the werewolves are in the way of getting it? Can I run around them without provoking attacks of opportunity?
