At the Adventurers' Table: Chapter Eleven

Message from Mamapaw to Sherwood. =)

Mamapaw gives a very feline grin and replies, "Oh, I don't mind! I juggle enough names as it is so what is one more? Just keep the puns going; they are really quite delightful!" =)

Kaerri Kaerri

As you probably guessed, the golden ring that Nivirea is offering to Bren is her family ring. She's assuming (as am I) that he'll recognize it, what with being part of Summerset nobility himself. Probably needs no clarification, but just in case *woof*

I just realized that I never specified what the insignia might look like, but I'll give it some thought today.

Oh and btw Purr Purr - Did you see? Looks like we got dice again! So will we be rolling in our posts, come time?

Yes, yes, and more yes! Let me look into this further (I need to see how it works), but if it's verifiable and fair, then yes! Wooo! 8D

Then she did turn towards him. Her face wasn't exactly an icon of penitence, but it did give some weight to her apology. "And there's something else."

Sliding the golden ring between her fingers a few more times, she silently offered it to Bren on the palm of her hand.

Nivi sez, "Bren... would you marry me?"

JUST KIDDING!! 8D

The roller seems to work simple enough. You make a post, then once it is up, you go in and edit it and it gives you the option to throw some dice. You pick the face of the dice you want to roll, and the number of dice to roll at once. It doesn't have any place that I have seen to add in any bonuses to the roll, so those will have to be manually added in.

I would have to say that the biggest question on the new dice roller is, can it be deleted and have the poster reroll a dozen times to get the result he or she wants? If so, I would want to steer away from it. I would have to guess that you can't, just to keep that very problem from happening.

Well, lets experiment.

Edit. I can see that if you try to edit a post and delete a die roll, I don't think it works. If you cancel a post then go back to try again, the earlier roll that was made is still there, keeping someone from being able to cancel and reroll over and over again.

The previous system kept a site-wide history of rolls, so you could have rolled multiple times but it would be right there for anyone to see.

I preferred the old system, for that and for its enhanced capabilities. Though it's plausible that this one will be upgraded before long.

Wolf Rawrrr Wolf Rawrrr If you read Bren's response before this post, please refresh and read again. I typed that up without checking here first, but have now edited accordingly!

So... is it working? As intended, I mean?

From what I can tell, there's no way to undo throws or delete anything, even if you click cancel after throwing.

The only thing that we will have to do is include in our post the relevant bonuses for whatever roll you are making in the post before the roll.

Purr Purr if we start making our own rolls, will we post them in the OOC thread?

Okies. We can use this Dice Roller, but I need to make a new House Rule on it involving declarations.

Here is how this will work:
1. When you wish to use a skill in-game, make a declaration in-game. I.e. "Kitrin the warrior-hobbit tries to pick the ogre magi's pocket."

2. Then make a declaration in Adventures' Table along with the applicable bonuses followed by the roll. I.e. "Kitrin's Sleight of Hand attempt with her +2 bonus." (Insert d20 roll here).

3. DM announces the result of the role in-game.

As before, when in combat, you may roll any attack and damage rolls simultaneously in order to save time, If you wish. If you roll one but not the other, you will have to wait to hear back from me before rolling damage.

Business as usual, then *woof*

Note to Kaerri: I hope there's no problem with my attempt to intertwine our characters' backgrounds. If it's implausible for some reason I'm prepared to rewrite my post.

Re: Dice Roller. Pretty much, but with two exceptions - I am trying to eliminate dice-rolling in IC and by requiring declaration in OOC directly after an IC post, I assist with validation since we lack a dice log.

Re: backgrounds. Probably best to work such things out beforehand, good Wolf. For the next time it comes up?

I want to roll dice for the sake of rolling dice, but... first I need more time to get some posting in. So glad we have a Dice Roller again! 8D

Heya friends! I should be able to post tomorrow. =)

Dannigan asked why I didn't put the (TM) on there. This is in accordance with Sapience's Brief History of Time, which advises that modifiers such as TM, quotes, and capitalization increase the expansion of time from the base measurement. :P
