At the Adventurers' Table: Chapter Eleven

Yeah, same thing as Robotech: Broadsword. It's also why we have Shop Talk in both games (for house rules, additions and exemptions) and OOC to make those changes. Sharseya has only been a Pathfinder game for a little over 3 1/2 years; it contains elements from D&D 1st-3.5 Editions and even little bits from other games from all the years we played tabletop to our joining what is now RP Nation. =)

Just to be absolutely clear - I definitely don't mind folks using that site as a place to get feats, spells, new classes, or the like. If you find something you like on that site and you want to throw it my way, well, we've done that plenty of times here. =)

I just don't want people using that site for our day-to-day rules. That's what the Paizo Core Rulebook is for. =)

Cool deal. I'll keep my eyes open for any feats that might come in handy to run past you for your possible approval.

Heya friends!

I'm giving Cap'n chance to respond. Bria did, after all, ask his character a question. =)

With a growing level of curiosity, Oreleth stares at the bird. As a side thought, she murmurs to the minotaur, "Hold on a moment. He wants me to follow him. I'll be right back." She then heads over to the corner where the cute little bird is now waiting for her. "Wait for me, little one. I'm coming."
We should call you the Bird Whisperer.

Oh my... This just in...

WOOO! 8D

Paizo Pathfinder is testing their 2nd Edition! It'll be released 2 August 2018! Here's the link for anyone interested in helping them test (or if you just want in on the many details provided). =)

I'm still waiting for more books for Exalted 3e; right now, there is only the core book.

Game books are just so expensive. I remember Sherwood telling me that the book for Exalted 3e was over a hundred bucks.

Are you serious? That's nuts!

Here's hoping Paizo doesn't go that route (not that I think they will)...

Yeah, the core book was 110 plus shipping, but it was over 700 pages. Drop that book on someone's head and you'll have a homicide on your hands. I just hope that the books for the other Exalted types are cheaper.

700 pages is something else, but still!

(I meant to post this right after I posted in-game, but ADHD strikes and I forgot about it. =) )

That's it. Real Life has got Cap'n. Now I have to go and do it...

(See in-game.)

Love ya, Cap'n! Hope life eases up and gives you a break! *huggles* =)

However... Cap'n did post as Oti and here's what someone in my head has to say about that...

Otiorin nodded cheerfully, the mop of brown hair on his head flopping almost into his eyes.
"Of course I remember, apple of my eye. But what with all the excitement of the last few days, such things slipped my mind.", he replied, "I'd be honored if you'd create something appropriate to replace these clothes."

"Hi-hi! My name is Bria of the Ko and I approve of this message!"

By the way, as I am reading Stephen King's The Stand at the moment, I get the shivers just writing that last thought! Brrrrr.
Of course, I had to ask questions and find out who this guy really was, but really, I figured it was only a name and I said, "What the heck. He is now Grand Vizier Randall Flagg!" This decision brought my players immense joy! They literally cheered right there in our living room!
I'd just like to add that our desire to have him name this poor grand vizier Randall Flagg had nothing to do with his personality, and a whole lot to do with our reading preferences and sense of humor. ^;3^

Oh boy, let me try! Can I try?
I read this in a happy bouncy Labrador puppy way. ^D^

Also, sorry for no post. For some reason alerts borked on me again, and I had no idea all this OOC stuff was happening!

Just so I don't double dip my Armor Class, let me please confirm something about the leather armor. From other Pathfinder games I've been in, Mage Armor does not stack with regular armor; it is either one or the other. Is this correct in Sharseya, too?

Also, does this armor have a chance of Arcane Spell Failure? I probably should just keep my mouth shut on this, but I have to be honest and take the penalty if there is one.

Dear Sherwood?

Read the entire post (#83) again, please?

This time, carefully? =)

Ok, so am I to take from this that it is only a robe, and does not provide the same benefits as Leather Armor like Bria's?

Just sayin, if the glamored robe doesn't provide any armor protection the same as Bria's, you could just say so.

But, Sherwood, if I did, would I have to ask you to reread that too?

You're a good GM, so try looking at this from the Dungeon Master's perspective.

I don't know what the problem is, but you do not read carefully. The other players read what I write and get what I'm writing. So I don't think my writing is the problem here.

So either I tell you all over again what you should have read in the first place, or I ask you to read it again. I do this in the hopes that you'll develop better reading habits, not to poke fun at you. You get me?

By asking you to read it again, I'm trying to help you, Sherwood.

That way we don't have to have keep having these conversations. This is far from the first time this has happened.

Don't you think the problem would be solved if you just read more carefully in the first place? Or do you honestly somehow believe we enjoy watching you come to incorrect conclusions?

Like the time Luna walked into The Grand Pool and had a full-blown conversation with nobody because no one else was there? Or the time you could not remember Luna's brother's name when it was right there in the post that I had carefully written? And Wolf pointed it out to you?

I get annoyed and frustrated too when you don't read carefully. I'm certain I'm not the only one.

Help me, help you, man.

Sherwood Sherwood

(Disclaimer: I have a troublesome headache so please pardon my wording; I just don't know how else to put this right now. I put all my time and brain into Robotech: Broadsword tonight).

Concerning the magical robe, if it's not good enough for Luna (for lack of better wording), let me know and I'll just rewrite the post and have her give it to Otiorin or something? Bria and I just thought Luna would like it given her reaction all that time ago. If I'm wrong about that, then O.K.. Just tell me what you want, please, and have a good night.

The robe is wonderful. I was under the impression that it was a copy of Bria's robes that are also a suit of leather armor. With that thought in mind, I made my earlier post asking about the defense values and if there is a chance of spell failure. Since it is only a set of changeable clothes, I am having to guess that there is no chance for the spell failure, so I'm fine with it.

Re: impression. Yes, that much is clear.

What I can't wrap my mind around is this - why does this "misreading" thing of yours only seem to happen when you're in the player's seat? In RpN, I've been in three games with you with you as the Game Master and I don't recall this happening once in all that time. But get you in as a player-character and the words written and your imagining of them become two different things. Yet, this does not happen consistently, but only once in a while.

Any idea why, Sherwood? Do you have some condition like my ADHD and hyperkinetic disorder or something? Or is it just careless reading (which is quite fixable)? Most of all, how is this avoidable in the future?
