At a Glance [RP]

Mirina burried herself abit deeper into the closet, curling into a ball hoping not to be seen. She heard small movements but still kept quiet, she had seen the agents coming. All the items she had stashed were realitivly safe. She was worried for Tyra, she was still out cold! She decided to try and keep hidden maybe she was so small she wouldn't be noticed by the agent or that Android? She doubted it but still was cautiously optomistic.

The task force surged into the room, pointing their guns in all directions. "Search everywhere, they have to be in here," the head agent commanded, using his arm to give a signal as well. They spread out over the entire room, checking behind curtains and dressers. Just then, a soft, yet audible sneeze echoed throughout the room. The agent held up his hand for everyone to stop what they were doing so he could listen. It appeared to have come from...underneath the bed? Silently, he crept towards the piece of furniture, his gun poised. Bending over, he peered into the dark underneath the small twin bed. There Tyra lay, as still as if she was deeply asleep. "Under here, I've found her," he announced, crouching down and grasping the girl's arm, pulling her out. He then lifted her into his arms. Tyra looked much like a rag doll, totally limp and almost lifeless except for her breathing. Her light blue locks cascaded over the agent's arm, hanging down towards the floor. Her violet eyes were closed and she almost looked peaceful as she remained unconscious; looking exactly like a normal teenage human being. "I believe this is yours?" the agent chuckled to Dusk, "Some wanted fugitive. This is just too easy! She's like a sleeping baby."

Everything was going perfectly. Dusk had not caught one but three or four non-humans this night. Of course, there was some assistance from Gemini agents but the work was mostly done by him. "Good. We just have one more to capture and then we can take not just two but three captives back. I found an unexpected guest of the two I had tracked to this building. She won't be bothering anyone for an hour." He pointed to the sleeping girl sitting on the floor. "My hands will be full so could someone take her? And while said person is at it, why don't they do a scan of her as well?"

Dusk opened the closet door and peered inside. He couldn't really see much in there but he could hear the sound of breathing reverberating in the space of the closet. He began to search the closet with his eyes as if scanning the contents. He was following the faint sound of breathing but he could not see the girl. Where had she gone? That was when something in the corner of the closet caught his eye. What exactly was he looking at? It had fur on it and was curled up into a ball. He doubted this could be a dragon but he wasn't about to walk away without finding out what it was. He unsheathed his katana before pointing it at the furball. He gently poked it with the tip of the katana.

Mirina didn't move she tried to hold her breath, he heard her? In an instant within being poked she recoiled backwards hitting the wall slightly. That katana was sharp! And it certainly worried her. She had already been spotted... No use in trying to hide from it. She ducked under the blankets again. Easily dissapering under the cover of the fabric she started to think of some exit. She COULD dart out but then again people were probably gaurding the exits. Oh it frustrated her! She figured she could get away somehow... Maybe not. Her wings shifted under the blankets and she decided to just give up. She'd get out eventually right?

Rikka's small form lay sprawled across the hard wooden floor, still writhing in agony. Her deep green cap lay on the far side of the room, and her tail shot out at jagged angles on the floor behind her. How long had she been siting here?

She heard heavy muffled voices resounding of the walls of the room... She tried to collect her thoughts, but kept loosing them to her whirling mind. She couldn't remember why she was on the floor........

She tried franticly to get up, but her arm only twitched slightly to the side for her her efforts.

What..Happened?

His head was cast down as he strolled through the streets with an apparent ease. He allowed his shock of almost too bright red hair shield his more obvious red eyes from the sight of onlookers and he let the certainty of his gait hide the fact that the hair was just barely an unnatural colour of red.

That was how he hid. He didn't make any attempts to hide and during the day he met people with his eyes hidden casually behind a pair of sunglasses. Appearing secretive and shifty drew more attention from Gemini than if you pretended to be normal and to have a right to the streets. While his head was angled towards the ground it was unlikely that he would construed as anything more than a teenager who had dyed his hair a bright red and it was this assumption that had kept him alive for so long.

That and he was practically a freeloader. He meandered from safe house to safe house staying just long enough to loaf around and fill his stomach before Noah packed his backpack full of his few belongings and took off. Did he overstay his welcome? Always, but just barely. He had enough safe houses in his network to keep away for long enough to be welcomed into it the next time he returned.

His stomach gave an irritated rumble as he began to edge up on his next scheduled home for however long he was welcome. Mirina and Berch were always accommodating to his visits and he could generally stay here for quite some time before their irritation for his freeloading began to show itself and he vanished promptly without a word.

As he approached the house he felt a slight apprehension puncture through him and he spared a glance to his watch cautiously. There was still well over a day before he would change so that wasn't why he felt so unnerved. Noah had managed to walk just past the threshold of the door before he heard sounds that were unusual to any safe house. Silence. Could this place by compromised by Gemini?

Noah turned around abruptly and shuffled through his backpack before withdrawing his sunglasses and throwing them over his crimson eyes. It hadn't been quick enough because the strange feeling intensified and he realized that someone from inside the building had seen him. He tried to remain calm as he walked away from the room and towards the street. He hoped it wasn't a Gemini agent and if it was that they either hadn't identified him as anything worth their attention even though he had been in the house.

He wasn't looking to fight. He was looking to survive. He made no attempts to see if Mirina or Birch had been caught and he was moving away from the safe-house. He crossed back over the thresh-hold of the building and Noah muttered, "Not my place. I remember now," desperately as he hoped that if he had been noticed that he would be overlooked. Unless they had seen his eyes before he concealed them. He hoped that he had not just walked right into a raid by Gemini.

Dusk smirked behind his mask. So this thing curled up in the closet was a dragon? That was a surprise but it made the capture all the easier. He might not have to put her out using a neurotoxin needle. He doubted that she could cause much trouble but a dose of neurotoxin wouldn't hurt as a precaution. It would prevent any resistance from occurring and ensure that she did not end up waking the others. He reached into the closet and grabbed the creature by the scruff of its neck before pulling it out of the closet, sheathing his katana as he did so.

Dusk held the creature as such that he could look her in the eyes. "Now then. Are you going to give any trouble or will I have to apply a shock and a needle of neurotoxin to you to make you cooperative?" He spoke with a voice devoid of emotion which was almost robotic. He reached to the compartment of his suit where the needles were stored and pulled out one of the needles still left. He held it up in the dragon's field of vision to ensure that she would see it and that he would not hesitate to immobilize her.

The head task force agent allowed a sly grin to cross his face. He could just imagine the general's face when he brought in the long sought after fugitive; he was certain to receive a promotion. Sure, Dusk had been the one to discover her location but whoever actually brought her in would be the lucky duck. Swiveling his head to look at the android, he raised an eyebrow at the blue ball of fluffy he had grasped in his hand. "What in the world is that? Is...is it a Dragon? Never seen one so tiny before," he asked taking a few steps closer to get a better look.

Several Gemini troops were guarding the windows and sure enough, one of them spotted the casual red-headed teenager approaching the house. At first, he thought nothing of it until he noticed how quickly the kid shoved on his sunglasses. The agent frowned and reached into a pack, pulling out a heat sensor. Some non-humans, especially fire and ice blessed dragons, gave off either a very high or very low heat signature. The red hair gave the agent his suspicion and he pointed the sensor towards the teen as he seemed to pause on the front porch, then quickly turn around and begin to walk off. The agent's eyes widened behind his glasses, there was definitely a heat spike. Picking up his com unit, he clicked the button and spoke into it, "Dusk, chief, it appears like we got another one. This just seems to be our lucky day."

Clipping the unit back to his belt, he quickly signaled the others and raised special gun to his shoulder. One agent opened the door just as the gun was charged and an explosion sounded from its tip. Instead of a lazer or plasma that came barreling towards Noah's legs, it was a long, sturdy strip of extremely tough leather with two balls at each end. Its purpose was to wrap around the captive's legs, leaving him or her immobilized for a few minutes, the balls attracting to one another and keeping the leather tightly locked around the captive's ankles. The contraption shot like a torpedo straight for the young blessed dragon.

Mirina squirmed about then snarled but, at the sight of the needle she stopped. If she was knocked out now she might not be able to figure out where they were going! How would she find out a way back? She growled slightly and then stared at the agent behind Dusk. Glaring was all she could do. Who would be intimidated by a dwarf of a Dragon with nothing but blue fuzz for protection? It wasn't her fault her growth was stunted! Though, she felt humiliated at the thought. Even her brother was larger in his form! Atleast a few feet larger than Tyra's, maybe the same size. "Don't call me tiny!" Mirina had mastered being able to speak in that small form. "Don't sit around and gawk either! I'm a Dragon none the less...! i-I'm just a little small is all..." She felt her usual confidence fall like a wall crashing down.

Dusk quickly jabbed the needle into the tiny dragon's neck to put her under for a bit. He didn't want her causing any trouble while he was busy with more dangerous non-humans such as the ice dragon and the new target which one of the agents had spotted. With her now immobilized, he tossed her to one of the agents and called out to said agent to catch her. Now he just had to get the girl with the cat tail packed up with the rest of the bunch they had caught. The transport should be getting there soon enough anyhow.

Dusk walked over to Rikka and looked her over. He noticed the cap she was wearing earlier sitting on the other side of the room. He shrugged and decided that he might as well make sure she had it with her so he won't overhear any complaints about missing items of clothing later on when he passes through the Gemini installation. He walked over to the cap and picked it up before walking back and placing it atop the girl's head. He picked her up in his arms and walked out of the room. "A team should have this entire place searched from top to bottom for any documents that might be useful later. For now, let's just get these three to base."

He thought that he was going to get away. He felt like he had been so close. All of his fears were confirmed when he stumbled forward landing on his face. Noah cringed and he wriggled around to glance at his feet. They were bound together. His sunglasses had fallen off, but obviously they had noticed his differences so Noah did not feel the need to conceal his eyes that were almost as red as his hair.

He swore noisily and immediately sat up. He tried to unbind his legs using his hands, but his restraints proved too good. It had only taken him a few seconds to realize that he was not going to escape the conventional way. His dragon form was a bit too large for this room and there was always the chance that the leather would hold in the change and this would severely damage him.

But leather burned. It certainly didn't smell pretty, but as long as the leather was real it would burn. Dean frowned and with a great amount of exertion a small lick of flame began to appear on the leather. If he was going to be useless enough to walk into an attack, he wasn't going to be useless enough to go down without even trying.

Mirina yelped, and soon felt woosey. She shouldn't have spoken that was a mistake in itself. She tried to stay awake but it proved hard to do. She drowsily kept her eyes open. Soon she passed out though.

"Alright, let's round 'em up!" the chief barked, signaling to the rest. Emitting a soft groan, Tyra's eyes slowly opened part way. She was quite groggy but had enough sense to figure out what was going on. She felt herself held in someone's arms, it couldn't have been android for she didn't feel a whole lot of metal. She sighed softly, her breath appearing as white cloud due to her extremely low body temperature. She clenched her eyes shut, clearing her thoughts. The toxin still ran through her veins but it was reduced greatly, her immune system having removed most of it from her blood already. She pretended to be unconscious for a few more moments, waiting for the right time.

As soon as the metal clinking of the android started to leave the room and head down the stairs, she snapped awake. Tyra's frosty fist slammed into the head agent's chin, sending him staggering backwards at the sudden attack. Everything seemed to happen almost in slow motion. The blue haired girl hit the floor with a thump but rolled over to her knees with graceful agility. Baring her small fangs, which blessed dragons still retain in their human forms, in a growl and throwing her arms out, she clapped her hands together, sending a wave of blue fire towards the remaining agents, most of them crying out and holding up their shields at the attack. Before, they had the element of surprise, catching her off guard. Now...it was her turn.

"She's awake!" the chief hollered, frantically reaching for the weapon strapped to his back, "Don't just stand there, you idiots, bring her down!!"

Meanwhile, the agents downstairs didn't hesitate to charge towards the young fire dragon in his human form, guns poised. "Don't move!" one of them snapped, holding the gun straight at Noah's head. Another raised a net gun to his shoulder, firing the intricate set of ropes towards the red haired teen. Hearing glass shatter, some of the agents now out in the yard turned there heads just in time to see a lick of blue fire fly from the now open window on the second floor. "Now what?" one of them growled.

Dusk turned back to the bedroom when he heard the commotion. He sighed. "Great, another bunch of agents who couldn't handle a lone ice dragon?" He needed to unload his current cargo before he could go back to handle the situation. He ran downstairs and went to the agents in the yard. He set the girl in his arms down on the ground before turning back to the building. He looked back to the agents outside and told them to get the girl he set down to the transport. Now that she was out of the way, he just had to put that ice dragon back in her place.

Dusk did not want to risk entering directly into the line of sight of the dragon girl and get frozen. He was at a disadvantage here. He operated best out in the open but inside that room was a confined space where he would have little to no space within which to make use of his usual stealth tactics and he wasn't allowed to kill the dragon either. To make matters worse, it seemed that she might be developing a resistance to his neurotoxin after only being exposed to it for under an hour. He would have to compensate for one of his weapons becoming ineffective due to his prey developing resistance for it by developing an alternate weapon later on.

Dusk walked inside, moving silently as was normal during an operation. He approached the bedroom doorway and as he approached, tapped the icon on his chest to activate his cloaking device one more. He entered the room through the open doorway and made his way towards his target. He moved along the walls to get behind her and ensure that he could put her out with a sneak attack.

Mirina remained out cold though she was tossed around quiet abit once Tyra had gotten lose. She hit the floor with a hard thud and meerly just layed there. Meanwhile Berch was awakening again, he was quiet dazed, how much time had passed? He felt confused, if he had passed out he most certainly wasn't at home. Oh no what was going on back at home? He couldn't begin to worry more than he was currently! "My head..." He mummbled sitting up.

Many of the agents who had surrounded the room were frozen; the others who remained charged their guns and kept them pointed at the girl. Tyra's eyes darted about the room, looking for an escape. Finally she spotted one. There, the open window in which the glass had shattered, leaving a perfect getaway. She just had to put up a distraction. Raising her head, placed a hand on her hip. "What's wrong, chief? Feelin' sore after being beat up by a girl?" she taunted, smirking slightly. Her ears picked up what sounded like a device of some sort powering up. What she heard was Dusk's cloaking device, though she didn't know what it was. Moving so that her back was up against the wall, she hoped to block any surprise attacks from behind in case any agents were hiding out in the closet behind her.

The chief of the task force scowled but then began to laugh, waving his hand for the other agents to hold their fire. "Maybe maybe, but the fact is, you have nowhere to run. You're outnumbered this time, you little half-breed and you're going back to the testing facility where you belong," he replied smartly, lifting his gun to his shoulder.

A few braids in Tyra's blue hair swung back and forth as she sized up the situation. "That mech....where did it go...?" she wondered. "It seems I am to an unfair advantage. I know you have an android with you," she hissed, pointing at the chief for emphasis. Then turning to look around she exclaimed, "Why don't you come out and show yourself coward! I saw your little trick in the alley, hiding then trying to grab me with your gauntlets." As she challenged Dusk, she subtly made her way towards the window, inching towards it. Her shoulder still stung like pins and needles from the electric shock earlier but she couldn't let them see.

"First day on the job?" Noah asked the agents surrounding him as he struggled with the net entwined around him. "It's pretty obvious guys. First of all," he grumbled and pointed at one of their guns, "I hope you use those and kill me. Try telling your supervisors about that... and secondly... who's bright idea was it to use a net? Neurotoxins would have worked better than something flammable don't you think?"

With his words several small flames began to appear along the netting. His pride was nearly insulted by the agents that he had encountered were not smart enough. He tried using fire to break the leather bonds on his feet using fire and then they throw a net at him?

The net was remarkably flammable, but unfortunately his flame was still working at the leather. It had singed black and noxious clouds of smoke were rising from it, but Noah could still not escape from it no matter how wildly he kicked and thrashed against it. It almost made him laugh at how he had escaped the net and yet he still wasn't able to run away. Instead Noah began a pathetic crawl across the floor aiming for the outside. He hoped the bonds around his legs would be burned through... and soon.

One of the agents on the ground merely laughed at Noah's attempt to irritate the group then pulled a small remote from his pocket. "Oh, we could have but we brought something much better. Underneath the rope of that net is a thin wire, strung with little charges. Instead of trying to explain, let me demonstrate," he chuckled, pressing his thumb again the top button on the remote. At once, the net was alive with sparks of electricity, spiking against Noah's skin. The agent let him suffer a bit, then shut it off. "Remarkable, isn't it? Has different powers of voltage like a dog collar, perfect for low life half-breeds like you," he sneered, "A prototype; got orders to test it."

Noah hadn't even noticed the thin wires but when he did he wished that it had been just as simple as the net. If this accursed leather binding his feet together would ever burn he didn't doubt that there would be a thin and equally unnoticeable wire. His body spasmed madly when the shock was applied to him, but rather than dwell on the shock he was more upset over the agent's words "Half-breed? I'm a pure blood Blessed Dragon. Don't you insult me like that!" he snarled.

If it weren't for his bindings he might had changed form, but if any of his bonds held they would mar his dragon form. Noah must have surprised them because after his abuse and his verbal outburst he stopped moving almost entirely. He needed his energy for better things and he knew when he was defeated. He would have to try to think of a way out and he was almost at a loss. His plan was to wait for an opportunity and hopeful one would present itself before he was out of this house.

Mai's deep black hair slightly shimmered in the mid-day sunlight.Fitting in with humans was somewhat easy, living on the streets after her escape, but now things seemed harder than before. Mai tilted up her light head, and soaked up the sun. That was one enjoyable advantage to being only a half vampire....

The city bustled around her as she searched through the frantic streets to find her new home. She had gotten a small apartment in the middle of town hoping to meet new people. She had no friends, family or anyone else really to help her get along in life. She had even stole items from neighbors, shops and unknowing strangers to help her with money. Luckily she saved up enough to rent out the apartment for a while. Her greatest fear was the agents ,looking for freaks like her,to take her away. Humans where dangerous, no matter what anyone had ever said to her.

Dusk stood and contemplated it for a moment but kept a watch on the girl. He had been challenged and the code of honour that came as part of the old family tradition which he was reviving stated that he had to accept challenges. Still, it would be easier just to come up behind her while she inched her way towards the window and shock her into submission. No matter how much he wanted to do otherwise in order to speed things up, he had to follow the code. He silently made his way between the girl and the open window, blocking her escape route.

Dusk swiftly reached out and grabbed the girl by the neck with his left hand and placed his right hand over her mouth to ensure that she would not be able to breathe her blue flames on him as he exited his cloaking. He pushed her into the wall, keeping his grip on her neck and keeping her mouth covered while he did so. Thankfully, he had taken her by surprise as she must have been expecting an attack from behind rather than from in front. "Let me make this clear to you. You challenged me and thus, I have to accept or I would have put you under with a shock by now. If you value your life then you will rethink that challenge. The last person to challenge me is now in too many small, finely sliced pieces to count."

Tyra gasped and raised her hands, gripping the android's arms and trying to get them to release. Choking a bit, her eyes widened. Was this...this thing only a suit? Was there a human inside? She hadn't been expecting that, only a machine. She winced and swallowed hard as much as she could with his hands still gripping her neck. "I-it isn't...a-a fair match currently...." she managed to say, her voice a slight whisper, "I-I retract m-my challenge......m-maybe, we'll m-meet again....under b-better circumstances...." There was still a fire in her eyes that could not be vanquished but for now, she let her body go limp, submitting to his will. It would do her no good to struggle now. She would have to plan her escape when a chance arose. Her light blue locks fell across her face as she closed her eyes. Her pride stung immensely, having to give in; she was a fighter, always was and will always be. But a fighter knows when to do nothing and when to strike, so this was what she must do. Her lips quivered slightly and a tear escaped her eye, rolling down her cheek.

----------

"Alright, get him to the truck," the agent spat, giving Noah a swift kick in the side before signaling to the others. A couple more agents grasped the net and dragged him through the front door into the grass, proceeding to the truck. "I want a collar on him immediately! We can't have him changing forms on us," the agent ordered then activated his com unit, reporting to base. The truck slowly rumbled into view and came to a stop in the yard. People on the streets began to gawk at the sight, crowding around the scene, until a group of reinforcements arrived and forced the public back. "There is no need for panic! This is a police matter and everyone should return to their homes immediately," one of the agents announced as the reinforcements put up barriers to hide the non-humans and the scene from the public's view before they saw too much. A thick metal shackle was forced around Noah's neck and his hands shackled behind him before the net was removed and he was thrown into the back of the truck next to Berch.

Uneasy, Mai sat on the red couch in the middle of her apartment turning on the television. Trucks outside her apartment were full of agents and pulling away. She didnt need trouble, but she had to get out of the building. She had to do many chores and had just moved in, so getting supplies was the first thing on her to-do list. But after watching those trucks, she knew she couldnt go out. Not yet. Mai had to grasp reality and realize hiding wasnt going to do her good. If she wanted to blend in, watching movies wouldnt help. 2 hours had past since the trucks arrived, and they couldnt stay much longer. Without another thought she headed out, trying to look.. normal.

One young, black haired girl happened to venture too close and an agent quickly stepped in. "Ma'am, I'm sorry but you can't go through here," he stated firmly, grasping Mai's shoulder and stopping her from going any further, "This is a government investigation." Luckily, the agent seemed preoccupied and wasn't too interested in checking her over, mistaking her for a normal human being.

Dusk nodded. "Good. I will take up your challenge some other time, preferably when there are no restrictions on what methods I may employ as there are now. Otherwise, you would already be dead from when we met in the alleyway." He reached down to his needle compartment and pulled out four needles, removing his hand from her mouth. Hopefully, the increased dosage should keep her out of action long enough to be put under control, he thought as he swiftly jabbed the cluster of needles into the girl's neck.

Dusk turned to the tiny dragon which still lay on the floor. He put Tyra over his shoulder before he walked over to the small creature and picked her up. He carried the two out, the smaller of the two being carried by the scruff of her neck and the other one being carried over his shoulder. He went right for the truck and placed the two inside before heading to where he had left the girl with the green cap and the cat tail. She was still out of it thankfully and he picked her up before placing inside the truck with the others. He had caught four non-humans in one night. It was an excellent haul. He might even be in for a pay rise or a promotion offer.
