At a Glance [RP]

Mirina watched the two getting carried out. At the momment she did not want to leave tje truck, it felt safer than the outside did. She decided she should try and be brave. She took in a deep breath her heart punding, and stood walking out of the truck slowly. Berch watched her walk out and stood, "Sis wait...!" He quickly followed leaving Noah behind in the truck. He walked beside her.

Mirina walked behind the andriod. She felt nervous but a false look of bravery would do her good. She wasn't going to let her fear show and she certainly wouldn't let herself seem weak.

"May as well make him work." Noah grumbled moodily and he purposefully leaned against the back of the truck and he folded his arms over his chest. He was planning to drag his feet the entire way if necessary to make them aware that Gemini did not have complete control over them. He was a little disappointed when Mirina and Berch left and cooperated so willingly. He thought about reiterating his thoughts, but he was too cowardly to announce his open intention to drag his feet because he would not be willingly manipulated and that he still had some power... even if it was to not walk out of the truck.

The agents stood with guns poised as Mirina and Berch walked by, shoving them in the back with the tips of them if the two non-humans didn't move fast enough. The chief turned to face Noah, scowling. "Come on out, Dragon, or you'll be sedated and dragged out. Not to mention there will be consequences," he snapped, "Might as well walk out while you still have some dignity." The chief stood impatiently, waiting to get on with his business and report back to headquarters about the catch. "Though it won't last...," he murmured under his breath, not loud enough for Noah to hear.

Mirina turned around, "Noah just come on... They aren't going to go easy on you, just come on. I'm not too proud of following what they say but I'm walking..." She said it loud enough for the agents to hear. It wasn't that she was trying to upset the agents, she was trying to get Noah to leave peacefully. She knew that Dusk wouldn't hesitate force or violence. The agents wouldn't either. She stopped and looked back quietly. Berch slowed but kept walking.

Rei raised an eyebrow, looking down at the stammering young girl. "Yes...?" he asked. However, he could see she was having a hard time concentrating. "It is getting late, you know. Do you have somewhere to stay?" he inquired, his eyes scanning the multicolored horizon. The sun's tip was all you could see and it was definitely becoming dark. The bustle of the city had calmed except for a few cars still roaming the streets. Signs began to light up as well as the lamps stationed every so many yards on the sidewalk. It was still spring and the night was chilly, a breeze whistling between the many crowded buildings.

Dusk turned his attention to the one lingering in the truck. So far, the other two were cooperating but mostly because it would be better for them if they did apparently. From what he could hear, the last one's name was Noah. He didn't care about what that creature was thinking, he just wanted to hand in his catch and get his pay. "Come out yourself or I'll come over there and if I do, you'll be carried out dead or alive!" Maybe he would stay back for a bit after handing them over and watch them. These creatures did always amuse him and on rare occasion, were interesting to talk to. None of the non-humans he had caught may have enjoyed his presence but for some, they would rather talk to him than have nobody to talk to at all.

Tyra groaned and shifted a bit on Dusk's shoulder. The toxin still kept her under but time was ticking and soon the hour would be up; the toxin would be clear enough from her system for her to fight back. If she woke, they'd have a hard time getting her under control. Enough sedative had been used in her system already and too much much could be detrimental to her blood, causing them to wait for hours for the neurotoxin to completely be removed from her cells so she could be tested and her information recorded. Faintly, she felt cold metal underneath her but couldn't do anything about it.

Noah sighed loudly as if this was a burden to him and he scuttled out of the truck, "I was told that I would be carried out so this is very disappointing to me." he grumbled and he was about to make a joke along the lines of this being his most unpleasant hotel yet, but the joke as unfunny as it had been died in his throat. This whole being a captive thing was really beginning to become unpleasant. He wasn't used to having to censor himself even if the jokes were innocent. He wasn't used to worrying about how what he said would be taken. He wasn't even used to the fear that the had been growing like some sickly plant since he had realized that the net was not just made of rope.

Mirina sighed and started to walk again. Truthfully she was scared to death of the idea of being trapped in the facility. But she knew she could try and handle it. Though Noah seemed to be taking time letting the aspect of capture sink in. It was obvious to her he was also feeling uneasy, or atleast worried. She caught up with her brother as they neared the end of the lines of agents.

Berch looked around tense and nervous. How would they get out? That was his main question. They couldn't simply take out a few people and run. They were trapped! Every one of them!

As soon as Noah left the truck, its doors were slammed shut and more agents filled in behind the captives as the vehicle drove off. "Get a move on, loud mouth," an agent spat, shoving Noah in the back with the butt of his gun. The chief strolled over to an electronic pad and placed his hand on in. There were several clicks of locks removing and the buzzing of many mechanisms moving inside, then suddenly what had appeared to be a thick steel wall parted in two, revealing it to be the entrance to the facility. Gemini had really stepped up its security as non-humans became more of a threat as well as needed for testing. The captives were then forced inside

The interior of the building was startlingly white, very much resembling an insane asylum. The corridors were void of any decoration. The prisoners would first be led to the exam room to be checked over and all items they possessed would be removed, including their clothing, one at a time. They would each be given either a white jumpsuit if they were male or a white gown if female in order to keep the genders clearly visible at all times. Next, they would be taken to the showers to remove any foreign contaminants and only then, they would be taken to holding units. Every prisoner was taken through this procedure and these new captives were being led to do just that.

Dusk felt Tyra's movements on his shoulder. He hoped that they could restrain her before the neurotoxins wore off and he was running out of needles of it. That and he had already dosed her with seven needles of it so adding more to the mix might be a bit much. He increased his pace, heading right for the exam room to drop off the two on his shoulders before either fully regained consciousness. "Are there any collars or anything that can be placed on them to prevent them from transforming? The ice dragon is going to be awake soon and when she is fully conscious, it will be hell trying to get her under control or at least it will be for all of you."

The chief kept up side by side with Dusk, strapping his gun to his back. "But of course, however, we have to watch Blessed Dragons. They can only stay human for forty-eight hours, then they're forced to tranform back. Once we get a hold of her cycle, though, we'll be able to track her changes," he explained, keeping his eyes straight forward, "Plus, she has to go through being checked in and cleaning first. You'd be surprised at the new gadgets these mongrels have gotten a hold of before. Even microscopic technology, more than likely stolen from us, Gemini. Therefore, we have to follow procedure and take all cautionary measures." He glanced over at the sleeping girl as the two headed for the examination room.

Guys srry my internets messed up))

Mai was surprised by his offer. Of course she had a place to stay. It was horrid, but a place. She looked at the eerily vacant city. A cold breeze whispered in her ear as her hair whisked in the midnight air. Gemini were off doing midnight rounds, not seeming to notice the two. " yes Rei, I have a place.. Not the best but it will do for the time being... An old, tiny couch, a broken Tv and unsanitary living quarter. It feels like the streets really." She didn't like remembering this, but she kept telling him everything. Why was she telling a total stranger this? She had never told anyone anything about her. But now the stranger seemed.. Not so strange.

Dusk shook his head in disappointment. With superior manpower, technology and more resources, the non-humans still managed to steal from Gemini? It was these sorts of things that made Dusk doubt the competence of those he was working with. He was well secured when it came to his equipment as he made it all from scratch so nothing he used could be found at Gemini unless it was on his person. "How is it that some of them have even managed to escape, anyhow? My previous employer never had this sort of trouble. Security was so tight for him that he knew everything that was going on. Still, that didn't stop him from being shut down." Dusk chuckled. His previous employer had been shut down but not by outside forces. Dusk was the one who shut down the organization and that was because the government offered him more for his services.

Dusk soon entered the examination room. "So where should I set these two down? If you don't mind, I'll be heading off to give my report right after setting them down. Five non-humans in one night, four points for Dusk and one point for the rest. Maybe the agents should undergo more intensive training? It would benefit them well. That or the leadership could ask me for recommendations on who to hire next." Off the top of his head, he could think of two people which he used to work with that would be perfect for the job and just like him, they were loyal to only two people and those were who could pay them the most and the rare few who had earned their trust and friendship.

Mirina whispered, "This is nothing like those blueprints.... They updated alot. Berch what if we can't get out?" Berch looked concerned. He had gotten the information himself but obviously it was dated. The layout changed and now the whole facility seemed like a blur to him. He knew the basics but now... Now his plans for escape seemed to be shaky at best. "We'll find a way out don't worry."

Mirina nodded and looked about the white walled room. It was too clean... The walls didn't seem to have any grime or fade to them! It was worrying.

"Heh, that may have been what he thought, but no matter how hard the head of an organization tries, he can't keep out everything. 'Sides, these security measures were set up a long time ago, before our newer tech. There hasn't been a break in or an escape in over a decade. We're growing stronger and can finally get a hold on this non-human outbreak. We've rounded up over a hundred of these pests in the past month alone," the chief replied smartly, glaring at the android. Dusk maybe was a good agent under Gemini, but he tended to downgrade everyone around him, thinking them incompetent.

They soon arrived at the examination room and the chief promptly placed his hand on the pad, causing the glass slider to open. He scowled, seeing most of the prisoners lagging behind. "Get a move on, half-breeds, we don't have all day," he spat before entering the room. "You can set the unconscious ones on the exam tables over there," the chief told Dusk coldly, motioning in the correct direction with his hand, "Careful, don't want to break the test subjects, now do you?" He knew Dusk's reputation for being an assassin, and made sure to keep an eye on the android so he didn't damage the prisoners he brought in, which he was known for doing sometimes.

--- Merged Double Post ---

Rei paused at a corner. "Well, I suppose I should walk you home, considering Gemini is lurking about," he sighed, giving her a smile. Though he did care about the girl's safety, he needed to get her home so he could go out on his own mission. He planned to scope out the testing facility near here, hopefully catching a glance at the non-humans they'd taken in that day. Inhaling sharply, he pushed her into an alleyway, shielding her with his body as two patrols narrowly missed them, marching down the sidewalk. "That was too close...," he growled to himself, his hate for Gemini rising.

Mai was excited he was at least walking with her some more. She could tell he needed to do something important and didn't want to be a bother, so instead of talking much she listened to the sound of their hushed breath in the frigid air.A Gemini agent passed and she got panicky inside, but on the outside her eyes widened. Reis warm hands pushed her back into the alleyway. It wasn't fierce but just serious. She heard a growl escape his lips. Mai knew she could be protected with Rei around, but she needed to fend for herself when he left.

The werewolf held perfectly still until his sensitive ears could no longer hear the sound of stamping feet in the distance. "Look, I don't usually go out of my way to walk others home...let alone ones of vampire descent, but it's too dangerous. Gemini are crawling all over this place since the round up," he explained in hushed tones. Finally he stepped back and turned his attention back to Mai, his yellow eyes seeming to glow slightly in the dark, reflecting the lamp light. "Where do you live?" he asked, leaning to one side. She sure was a helpless little thing, wasn't she? Of course, he still had no idea that she was an advanced telepath at that time, or else he would have thought quite differently. Seeing she was shivering slightly, he stood back and sorted out his thoughts. Finally making up his mind, he shrugged off his jacket and handed it to her. "Here, I can tell you're freezing," he told her. Now that it was night, his mood had changed a bit, becoming more distant, but he still treated her friendly enough. He glanced upward at the sky, his eyes wandering to the moon. It was over halfway visible but not quite a full moon just yet. It still made him on edge; even though he could change into his wolf form at any point due to his heritage, when there was a full moon he had no choice but to change and his aggressive side would take over. It...wasn't a pretty sight.

Mirina bit her lip and hurried up. Soon she was caught up and looking around aprehensively. Why was everything so diffrent? She shifted nervously and looked back. She looked towards the cheif nervously, "Why are you all so content with this?" She asked, "Trapping non-Humans here... We are people we HAVE feelings..." She felt as though she needed to ask that. "We never hurt anyone." She was right. Well if harboring people of your own kind was counted as illegal wasn't hurting then she hadn't done anything.

Mai pointed to the old building about three blocks away. It was built of bricks, the ugly color of rust red. Faded paint letters made outnthe name out the place, but she couldn't read them. Only six other people lived in the three story apartment Building, most being elderly folks or weirdos. She didn't wan o be a bother, bu accepted the jacket, know heat was harder to produce for her than a werewolf. Mai didn't know much aout werewolfs but knew they could be dangerous. She had lived through many situations in her life, am accidental werewolf attack didn't seem so bad.The moon was shining ou of a clearing in the clouds, illuminating the sidewalk. They ot closer to her building but didn't talk at all. The tone in Reis voice earlier wasn't an angry ine but had a slight edge to it. This didn't make her uneasy, but alert and aware he could change at any given time.

"Fresh meat." Ithnuul growled, shifting in her fetters. She felt them, the lone unbroken souls wandering into this living hell, Their minds laden with fear ..More and more non-humans where coming in every day, and she felt every single one of them.

She felt as their minds where slowly broken under the vices of torture, as they slowly faded from existence... Only she remained, bound to this infernal wall with a steel alloy made specially to contain her; She was too dangerous to be kept in a normal cell, she was kept in solitary confinement in a foot thick steel room. Her arms where cuffed directly to the wall and her feet fettered to the floor. A large steel door with a six-inch wide and inch high hole in the top set in the front of the room immediately in front of Ithnuul.

But she was growing restless...And they couldn't hold her forever..

Rikka bobbed lifelessly on Dusk's shoulder, the neurotoxin still incredibly pervasive in her veins.

Dusk set the two he was carrying down on the examination tables, doing so slowly and carefully. He knew his own strength but he he assumed that the chief agent wanted to be sure that he did not hurt the two. He was known for bringing in non-humans covered in slash marks and other visible signs of damage but asking an assassin to take targets captive and in perfect condition was a bit much. Still, he produced results which often could not be mimicked by normal Gemini agents. "Oh and by the way, I am not an android. You referred to me as one earlier during the capture and I want it to be perfectly clear that I am not. At most, I am a cyborg."

Dusk turned and walked away from the tables which Tyra and Rikka had been placed on. He made his way to the wall near the door which the non-humans were entering the examination room through. He leaned against the wall and turned his gaze to Mirina. "I can't exactly speak for the other people hired by Gemini but I can tell you my reasons. I capture non-humans simply because I am paid to do it and nothing more. I'm not paid to think about whether or not what I'm doing is morally right or wrong. If someone offered me more money to help non-humans then I would gladly oblige. With all the reminders I get not to hurt the cargo, it would be a welcome relief to kill again. Now, does that answer your question?"

Mirina shook her head, "It dosen't answer anything..." She looked around the room. "I mean we aren't 'pests' we're just living beings. The same as you Humans! But for some reason you all think better of yourselves... We do the same things as you. We eat, drink we have emotions. You all just think we aren't worthy of that right?" She shot a slight glare towards Dusk. "Being paid to do this is a horrible way to get money..."

Berch kept quiet. He knew his sister's views but he wasn't prepared to get in trouble. If need be he'd speak up in defense of his sibling.

Dusk chuckled. "You don't know very much about this world, do you? It doesn't take anything for someone to treat you badly and only the strong survive. To clarify though, I do not think humans are any better than non-humans. I don't have to share the views of Gemini's leadership to work for them. Plus, I'm making money by doing something I'm good at. Don't worry though, I can at least say that I have no plans to treat anyone in here badly outside of what is required of me. You can ask a few harpies and merfolk in the holding area that I talk to. They certainly seem to enjoy my visits but I guess I'm better than having nobody to talk to."

The chief listened silently as he motioned for two attendants to take care of the unconscious captives. Tyra and Rikka were immediately checked for weapons, bags, or any other items they'd been carrying and removed of them. Then, a few Gemini staff whisked them away out of sight, two glass doors closing behind them as if never to let them pass through again.

Tyra half opened her eyes, but was too groggy to really comprehend what was going on. She jerked as suddenly there was shower of cold water dumped on her head over her body. She could barely make out two female staff members scrubbing her down with soapy rags then dumping more water over her, causing her to sputter. This...this was new. She never remembered these kind of security measures when she had been held captive before. Though, she was very young at that time; they must have made many changes after she'd escaped. Looking over through her half closed eyes, she thought she saw a cat-like figure also being put through the same tortures. Soon, she was dried off and dressed in the standard white gown for prisoners before more agents gripped her arms on both sides and dragged her down the hall. She heard the beeping of electronic buttons, then a whir like a door opening. Before she knew it, her body hit what felt like a hard mattress and just as her vision began to clear, she could make out a glass door sliding and bolting shut. Her heart nearly stopped; she was in a holding cell. There was a thump to her right as Rikka was thrown into the cell next to Tyra's, also being locked in.
