Futuristic ARK: Survival of the Fittest (Closed)

"Have fun," Jack smiled and waved as Roan went back to their work area. "What do you think they're working on?", he asked Vera.

Anna looked at the cake and crossed her arms, looking away. her growling stomach betrayed her, though and she snatched up the offered plate to start scarfing down the cake. As much as she presently didn't want to admit it, it was delicious cake.

Roan leaned on the rock, silently eating his own cake. It was good. But he didnt really care for the sweetness of it.

Vera shrugged, "Maybe the bird harnesses?"

"Maybe," Jack shrugged. He sighed and looked at the wall and the lights of the beacons dropped at night, "I guess we've gotta go hunting for medallions tomorrow, too." Jack was the only one without a medallion in the group at current. And depending on blueprints and recipes, loot drop runs would never cease to be amazing.

"Sure, it won't be so bad," Vera nodded, "Maybe we will get more recipes."

"Yeah," Jack smiled at the thought, "I might have to build you a kitchen," he teased, "And a garden."

Vera laughed, "I dont think I would mind that. Though I'm not sure if there would be much difference between a kitchen and what we already have. It might make things a little more organized.."

"Well," Jack looked at the house, "That'll be a plan for another day." Because he'd have to figure out how to add a kitchen to the house without it looking ugly.

Vera smiled, "You can take your time. We have other things to focus on too."

"Yeah," Jack nodded and looked down at his empty plate. There were so many projects going on he'd have to make a list and prioritize, or he'd probably burn out.

"We should make it so we have to take while days to just relax, " Vera hummed, "Otherwise we are going to overwork ourselves."

"You think so?", Jack cocked his head, "Yeah, I guess we can." But he supposed that wouldn't be for a couple days, just because of the immediate projects in play. "Well, I won't start any new projects, but once we finish what we've got we can sit and relax for a few days, how does that sound?" Vera was right, if they continued to work until they didn't have anything left to work on, they'd suddenly have nothing to do, and that was probably bad. Best to take a break, let things settle and enjoy your labors and each others' company.

"Sounds good to me," she replied, "I just dont want anyone to get hurt or sick. I have this feeling like this constant working will wear us down until we can't go any further."

"Yeah," Jack nodded, "Or if it doesn't do that, what are we going to do with ourselves when we've got nothing to do?" He looked around the village that was beginning to take form. "I mean, there's only four of us, we'll eventually run out of things to talk about and projects to complete." And when that happened... Jack didn't know, but it was probably best to keep that period as far away as possible.

"We can probably find more to do. New things to strive for. You know Roan will find something to tame." Vera added, "You'll find something to build."

Jack wasn't convinced by that. Eventually the only building things left would be maintaining buildings unless they started expanding across the entire island, and that was pointless with just four of them. "And what about you?", he asked, putting a hand over Vera's, "What's going to happen when Roan's taming, I'm building, and Anna's being Anna?"

"I'll keep you company," She answered, flirting a bit, "You know, we will eventually unlock more thinks that you will want to build."

"I'd like that," Jack smiled and leaned in to hug her, "I just don't want to end up sitting on my hands, you know?" He didn't want that for Vera, either. Boredom was horrible.

Vera happily accepted the hug, "I'm sure we will find something to do."

Jack hoped so, "You wanna go for a walk?" It was dark but now they knew to watch where they were walking so they wouldn't anger everything on the beach by stepping on its eggs, and they could bring a torch.

"Sure, just dont step on anything," she giggled, standing, "Come on."

Jack smiled and grabbed a torch, following Vera down the slope. "The moon's full," he noted. And the clouds on the horizon were dark. It might rain tomorrow.

"How much longer is this going to take?", Anna asked Roan, the two now working on the harness again.

"Its pretty," Vera said, looking up at it. The soft glow of the moon lit her pale sun-kissed skin nicely, giving her her own soft glow.

Roan sighed, "I dont know.. do you want to call it a night? I mean, I've been messing with this stuff all day. I'm sore. I'm sure you're tired.."

"So are you," Jack winked, putting his other arm across Vera's back and giving her shoulder a squeeze. With their height difference, Jack could only reach her mid-back without bending over or leaning. He looked at the water, "I think I want to build us a boat." A nice little yacht, with all the amenities of home.

Vera looked down at the tangled mess around her legs, "I..." She didn't think she could get out of the harness without cutting her way out, "You're going to have to untie me to do that."

Vera giggled a bit, "See? I told you you would find more things to build."

"Is that what you want?" He asked, "I'll undo it for you, if that's what you want."

"Hehe," Jack kept smiling, "What about you?" He looked at Vera, "What do you want?" They'd been talking a lot about Jack, what about Vera's wants?

"I can't get out myself!", Anna looked a little embarrased by that fact, "Unless you want me to cut it..."
