Aquatic Discovery

Acacia came back with a cup of steaming coffee and a fold out cot. She opened the g or and set it up next to the tank, then fished a blanket out from under it and sat down on it. Now she didn't even have to leave: this day just kept getting better.

Aria waved to Acacia as she returned, and watched her set something up next to her tank. Aria being Aria, she had to ask; "What's that?"

"It's basically a bed for me so I fan sleep in here." She yawned and laid down, "this is going better than I expected."

"Ah, I see. So we're going to sleep together?" Aria asked. It crossed her mind that she'd never slept dry before. She never really had a reason or a chance to. She liked the feeling of being dry, but would she actually be able to sleep like that? It'd feel weird, certainly... Her mind continued on this tangent for quite some time.

She nodded, "if you want. I don't know hoe you sleep." She extended a small ladder to the top of the tank. "Swim up and I'll pull you out."

Aria nodded and swam up to the surface, extending her arm for Acacia to pull her out. She didn't actually expect to sleep outside of the tank, but she was just thinking about it anyway, so she figured why not give it a try? Since Acacia was offering and all.

Acacia hefted her up and onto her back, noting her tail. It felt so strange, flopping around and not even really feeling that human. She laid Aria on the cot, "good?"

Aria nodded "Yeah. Thanks." She said with a smile. Already the bed felt more comfortable than anything else she'd slept on before. No doubt she'd be able to fall asleep easily on this.

Acacia smiled and handed her the blanket "It can get cold here at night. If you want it. I'll need to go and run some tests."

Aria took the blanket "Thank you, Acacia. Good night." She said, before covering herself with the blanket and closing her eyes, lying on her side.

~The Following Morning~


Acacia walked inside, holding what looked like a specially made bra. She sat down beside the sleeping mermaids and awaited for her to awake.

Aria's eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at Acacia "Mm... Oh, good morning." She greeted her. She forgot that she wasn't in the ocean anymore.

Acacia smiled and handed her the piece of clothing, "here. Your chest garment might dissolve due to the conditions. This one won't." She handed it to Aria.


((So is Aria a nice siren?))

Aria wasn't sure what Acacia was talking about, but accepted the clothing anyway "Thanks." She said as she turned her back to Acacia to put it on.


(She's not really a siren, it's just the best way I can describe how I imagine a Mermaid's voice is "Siren-like".)

Acacia smiled, "it suits you, it matches your tail." She picked Aria up. "Do you want to go back into the tank?"

Aria smiled at Acacia's compliment "Do you have anything I need to be out of the tank for? I think I'd rather do those first." She said, though she mainly wanted to just stay in Acacia's arms. Her arm felt nice on her scales.

 

[BeyondOblivion]

Acacia shrugged and carried her to the table. She laid her down and held a microphone to her lips, "you sung the other day or... something like it. Could you sing so I can analyze it?" In reality, she just wanted to hear it.

Aria nodded, and after a moment of silence,

(Imagine the voice singing the song to be a little bit higher, but otherwise it's pretty close to what she sounds like)

Suprisingly, the woman found herself begin to fall almost under a sort of spell. She felt herself sway to the music, her eyes dialated. It was so calming, so peaceful, so beautiful. She shivered.

As Aria finished her song, she looked over at Acacia, who didn't look well "Are... Are you okay? Is something wrong?" She asked, worried about her.

Acacia was lulling for another second before she shivered and looked up, "Your voice... that voice it... it's incredible." She whispered, leaning down, "How did you do that?"

"I'm... Not sure..." Aria replied "I do like to sing a lot, but... Come to think of it, I've only ever really sung alone..." Did her voice have some kind of special power to it? She wasn't really sure what to think of all this.

 

[BeyondOblivion]

Acacia laid a hand on Aria's hand, "That was the most beautiful thing I'd ever heard in my entire life. I've been to so many music concerts and symphonies but that... that was amazing."

"You really think so?" Aria asked, her heart beating with excitement "You think my voice is amazing? I never thought it was anything better than average..."

She shook her head, "No, no it was better than average, grandeous!" She dashed over and got the recording of it, then saved it under her files in the computer before dashing back, "I can't even begin to describe it!"
