Fantasy Anything Goes

"He's going to be very quiet and very frustrating for the next few days. Try not to hit him too hard, if you can help it." He said with no small amount of crassness in his voice. "Ta-ta for now." And with the snap of his fingers, he vanished in a puff of smoke, leaving only the sound of his maniacal laughter in his wake. Upon his departure, the room returned to its original state. Even the candles seemed to flutter back to life, with their tiny flames slowly beginning to glow again.

Zodiac approaches the bookstore, holding his bleeding forehead due to him not paying attention to where he was running.

He cautiously opens the broken door and spies everyone inside. He saw Alieada mostly unscathed and he exhaled in relief. His skinny boots crunched as he walked across the broken glass he caused days ago.

Still damaged, huh? He thought, he was suddenly brought back when he saw the blood soaked shards of glass that impaled and cut Hunter not-so-long ago. He gasped but managed to retain his composure. He did leave quite a startling amount of black blood in his wake, but he didn't care at this point.

They young wolf slowly opened his eyes, unsure if he was still dreaming or not. His throat hurt terribly, and he could feel something wet on his chest. His ears twitched in confusion as he heard someone call his name. After blinking a few times, he looked and saw Victoria, and smelled fresh blood. "Ah hell." He muttered in a hoarse voice as he tried to sit up. Tsatsu had been here, that much was obvious. But what had the boy done? Why did he smell blood?

"Be careful. Don't hurt yourself," Victoria says. She looks him over and smiles brightly. "You're okay. I was so scared that you weren't going to make it." She hugs him carefully, afraid she might hurt him.

He carefully placed an arm around her as he slowly came back to conciousness. "He was here, wasn't he?" He inquired as he breathed in the sweet scent of fresh blood. Three of them. Tsatsu, Aileada, and Victoria. But why? He slowly peeled the parchment from his chest and sat up fully, staring at the design on the paper. Tsatsu had used magic to bring him back? Had he truly overdone it that badly? He leaned his head back and sighed, a little annoyed but not entirely upset at the situation. Victoria was safe, Aileada was apparently safe as well, and Tsatsu jadn't gone on a murdering rampage. This was the second time his brother had impressed him to the point of speechlessness.

"Hey guys..."

Zodiac stumbled closer, holding the wound on his browline. A thick black liquid dripped from the black gash on his face, but he didn't care.

"Saw some crazy light show..."

He patted her head and shushed her, trying to soothe her as best he could. He gradually got to his feet and pulled the tattered remains of his shirt around him in an attempt to shake off the cold. As Zodiac entered the room, Shinu slowly approached the boy and inspected the wound. It didn't look too bad, but it would need stitches. Without a word, he ushered the boy to the table and gestured for him to sit while he prepared a thread and needle. First, he intended to sew Zodiac's wound, and then find a stiff drink. The rest would sort itself out.

Zodiac stood up again with his bandaged palms raised, one palm was completely black.

"No, No, I'm fine. It'll heal on it's own."

He put his clean hand on Shinu's shoulder.

"Believe me, I can heal on my own."

With a sigh, he nodded at Zodiac in respect and turned to observe the room. He had forgotten something, but what? Without a word, he begain to look around, trying to retrace his steps. Gesturing for Victoria and Zodiac to follow, he proceeded up the stairs and out to the street. Spotting his pistol on the ground, he walked over with a sigh of relief and scooped the weapon up, tucking it into the back of his trousers. Less than a foot away were his beloved cigarettes, with one remaining in the box. Depite it's crumpled shape, he straightened it out as best he could and flicked open his zippo lighter. After a few strikes, the flame held long enough, and soon he was rewarded with the soothing tingle of mint and nicotine. He glanced to his left and saw that the cafe was conveniently missing a rather large protion of its wall, and he clambered inside without hesitation. Seating himself atop the counter, he uncapped a bottle of whiskey and took a small sip, wincing at the burning in his ragged throat.

Victoria grabs his arm. "I have alcohol at home. I'd rather you get drunk there so I don't have to drag you there later."

He smirked and merely raised the bottle in salute. "Just resting for a bit." He said as he flopped down onto his feet. The first shot always made him dizzy, but now he would be fine. He gestured for her to lead the way, smoking and taking small sips from the bottle as they walked. Just exactly what had happened here? He remembered something about a book, but that was all. He dismissed the curiosity and decided to sort everything out in the morning, emotions included.

Victoria casually takes the bottle of whiskey from him and takes a sip. She cringes slightly as it burns her throat. She hardly ever drank alcohol.

Zodiac unintentionally leers at Victoria and Shinu from afar with those strange bioluminescent eyes. He had never had alcohol nor does he want to. If such thing intoxicated him, he believes something horrible will go wrong. He kept his distance, afraid of what might happen.

He paused for a moment and looked over his shoulder, whistling loudly and gesturing for Zodiac to join them. The boy could probably use some company, and Shinu figured he owed him some form of apology. If nothing else, it was his way of making amends for the harm he'd done. With a sly grin, he plucked the bottle from Victoria's hand and took another drink.

Zodiac walked out of the shadow, the wound seemingly skinnier than it had been. There was still a black smear down his face that gave him a jaundiced, unhealthy look. He drifted in close like a ghost. His buttoned-up cloak and hood billowing a slight bit as he floated off of the ground. His feet touched the ground once he was in a 2ft radius of the other two. A blank expression upon the pale skin of his face.

Victoria takes the bottle back and holds it out of his reach. "I need it more than you do." She looks behind her at Zodiac and smiles slightly.

He shrugged at Victoria's remark and gestured again for Zodiac to follow. Without even so much as making a sound, he proceeded down the street and made his way towards Victoria's house, smoking and staring at the sky as he walked. What on Earth was he going to do now? At this rate, he'd never get the bike fixed. And even if he did, there was no certainty that it would still function. But moping wouldn't change anything. After what seemed like a small passage of time, the arrived at Victoria's house, and he quietly seated himself on the stone of her porch, offering the chair for Zodiac to sit in. He'd never been fond of furniture anyway.

Aileada watched as everyone left the basement. She stood there alone, taking in a deep breath. ' It's a shame Tsatsu left, and to think I was having fun.' The red haired girl walked out of the bookstore and headed for her home.

Victoria takes a few more sips from the bottle and holds it back out Shinu. She was already beginning to feel bubbly and a little dizzy.

Hunter sighed as he reached the house 'I need to move again, I've found my objectives and need them under lock and key' he thought, when his phone rang, picking up automatically knowing who called "What is it Jackson?" "I guessing you got the swords if the energy spike that appeared along with the earthquakes" Jackson said to the blonde as he started to pace "yeah I've got them, and I'm coming to put them in containment" he said as he stopped pacing "Negative your to stay in Liondil Hunter" "why?" "I don't know but the higher up said so" "whatever bye Jackson" he said as he hung up and walked inside

With heavy steps Aileada trudged to her door. Once the door was open she let her legs give out as she slid down the wall onto the floor. A strange sense of emptiness had consumed the girl as she sat there staring at the patterns on the rug. Uncertain of where the feeling came from she didn't bother trying to figure it out, but instead closed her eyes and let herselfslip into unconsciousness.

He'd been up most of the night, shaken from a whiskey-numbed sleep by a dream he could not recall. He'd tried to get back to sleep, but nothing seemed to do the trick, and so he'd wandered into town just before dawn. The sky was a fiery orange, framed in greys and purples he hadn't seen in quite awhile. The center of town was completely deserted, and so he went to work. With a copious amount of magic and alchemy, he spent the next few hours restoring everything, from the damaged cafe to the broken glass of the bookstore. Yet even now, sleep would not have him. With a heavy sigh he plucked a bottle of rum from the shelf of the cafe and returned to the street. With a gentle wave of his hand, time seemed to reverse itself as the bricks and glass levitated back into place as if they'd never been disturbed in the first place. Once this was complete, he quietly sat down on the cafe's patio and did the only thing he could think of. He fetched a harmonica from his pocket and began to play a song he remembered from his days in highschool, a rather melancholy but fitting tune. Pausing occassionally to take a drink or quietly sing the words, his thoughts slowly drifted as he began to lose himself in the nostalgic sentiment of the words. "Take a good look at me now. Do you still recognize me? Am I so different inside? This world is trying to change me. And I admit, I don't wanna change with it...."

Victoria wakes up on the couch in her living room, her head pounding. Lovely. She gets up from the couch and does her normal morning routine. Take a shower, get orders packaged if needed, and possibly get something for breakfast. The scent of strawberries and vanilla fill the small house once again. "Moving day," she says to herself. She goes to her closet and takes out a suitcase.
