Fantasy Anything Goes

The creature slowly approached, removing his peacoat and handing it to Victoria as he rolled up his sleeves and loosening his tie. From the look of things, Shinu was in worse shape than he appeared. "Tsk tsk indeed, dear brother. Picked another fight, did you? Never you fear, we'll get you patched up." Tsatsu chided with a playful manner as he scooped his brother up and proceeded to carry him into the bookstore. His bright blue eyes found Aileada and an idea began to take shape. "Pardon me, miss. Is there a place I might do a little hat trick? I need a table and ingredients. And salt. Alot of salt." He seemed to have a rather jovial manner about him, almost as if he was excited to be doing what he was. His eyes held a delighted fascination with his surroundings, as if he was seeing the world for the first time.

'A lot of salt?' She questioned what he planned on doing and was rather skeptical of his intentions, but she couldn't save Shinu so she would have to obey. "There's a large table downstairs. I'll be down there shortly with the salt." She didn't wait for his response as she stood up and headed up onto the second floor. At the top of the stairs it was visible that a small portion of the room had been sectioned off. With vanilla colored tile flooring and wooden cabinets, the small room gave off the basic appearance of a simple kitchen. Quickly pulling open one of the cabinets she grabbed out the container of salt and began towards the basement.

Tsatsu proceeded downstairs to the basement and carefully laid Shinu down on the table, humming a merry little tune as he worked. With a smile on his lips he searched around and gathered nine candles, a piece of parchment, a needle and thread, a few scraps of cloth, and the knife from Shinu's belt. Turning to Victoria, he spoke with a sincere curiosity. "So how exactly did you stumble upon this little ragamuffin? He's not exactly the social type."

Victoria looks at the floor. "He helped me get out of town one day, so I offered to let him stay with me... And here we are... But both of us will be leaving soon."

Aileada stood at the top of the basement stares, hearing that both Victoria and Shinu were going to leave. Sure it hurt her to see people go, but if that's what they thought was best then who was she to get in their way? After reaching the bottom of the stairs she set the salt on the edge of the table. "Would you like a side of fries with your salt?" She added sarcastically. She didn't intend for her words to come off as rude, it was just how she responded to things.

He flashed a toothy smile as he ripped open Shinu's shirt and began to arrange the candles in a circle around the table, placing each one on the floor and lighting the wick before moving on to the next. "What might cause you to take leave of this place? They like you here." He inquired as he stood and placed the parchment over Shinu's heart. When Aileada spoke his eyes met hers and despite the kindness in his smile, his eyes held a sinister glint that spoke of truly painful things, the stuff of nightmares. It was a look of pure and sincere malice. "No thank you, mon cherí. But your soul would be rather nice." He replied with a child-like innocence in his voice. Taking the bowl in his hand, he began to sprinkle a meticulously intricate circle around the group, creating a nine pointed star pattern interlaced with symbols no living being had ever seen before. "And by the way, ladies, he won't be leaving this place. He might lose heart, but he'll stay. The cosmos has already made it so. You'll see, in time." He said cheerily as he plucked the knife from the table and grinned at the two of them. "So, which of you angellic works of art would care to lend your crimson deliciousness first?" He chimed as he glanced back and forth between the two. "Just a drop, mind you, so don't be squeamish."

Victoria watches him carefully. "I'm not sure I trust you with that knife, but if it will save him, then so be it." She takes a step forward so she is next to the table. "And even if he stays, I mustn't. It's too dangerous for me to be in this little town. I need to be somewhere where I'm alone."

"Sorry, but that's reversed for only the worthy." She responded with a smile. She then stepped forward and held out her arm. "I suppose I'll go first, no point in waiting." She watched him, staring directly into his eyes. Her gaze then flicked to Victoria as she stepped forward as well. "Looks like you have two ready volunteers."

He let out a devilish chuckle filled with sadistic giddiness as he gently took Aileada's hand. "Splendid!" He exclaimed as if he were on the verge of clapping. Gently grasping a single finger, he carefully pricked her finger with the knife. "Blood of the sacrifice, willingly given." He said with a sudden reverance as he stained the edge of the parchment with the tip of the knife. Turining to Victoria, he locked his gaze with hers. "You may feel a slight pinch." He warned her as he took her by the hand.

A smile pulled at Aileada's lips. "So gentle," she mumbled. She had expected him to make it slow and painful, but was surprised when he was quite careful. "So I'm the sacrifice? What a shame, and just when I thought we were hitting it off." She laughed softly. Of course she didn't want to die, but it she was going to she was going to have some fun before then.

Victoria returns his gaze and nods. Fear dances in her eyes, but she stands unwavering. "Don't try anything stupid," she says.

He flashed another toothy grin as he took her hand and gently placed the blade across her palm. The cut was so quick it barely registered more than a slight tingle, and in his icy touch there was no pain to be felt, merely a cool and soothing sensation. "Blood of the comrade, unwillingly offered." He said as he stained another corner of the parchment before speaking again. "Oh trust me Aileada, mon petit mademoiselle, your time will not come for many moons. And we are hitting it off quite nicely, given the circumstances. People don't usually live this long around me." He said with a nearly musical lilt in his voice as he prepared himself for what came next. "Neither of you have an aversion to violence, I take it? This next part may be a bit unsettling."

"Why the need for all this witchcraft, voodoo stuff? I figured you could just snap your fingers and heal him. I mean, you do think you're so powerful." Victoria steps back from the table and crosses her arms.

He paused at the last second, as if lost in thought. "Because killing someone comes much more naturally to someone like me than saving them. To take is an easy thing. To give requires more grace. Tell me, have you ever seen a soul before, Victoria?" He inquired as his eyes met hers with an indescribable magnetism.

"Then I suppose I should feel special?" She smirked. This was quite a fun event considering what it was. Her interest was peaked as Victoria mentioned him being powerful. "The all powerful Tsatsukara, healing people with the snap of the fingers since today." She smiled, laughing softly at her own joke.

He smirked as he casually swept the knife across his wrist and smeared a circle onto the parchment, seemingly unphased by the injury. "Blood of the sibkin, forcefully taken." He whispered as he wiped the knife with the tail of his brother's shirt before returning his attention to Victoria. "Well madame, you are about to. And for the record, Shinu must save himself tonight. I'm merely giving him a second option in the matter." He said as he stained his fingers with the drops of blood and traced an intricate pattern onto the paper. With every movement, the air around them chilled and crackled with static electricity. Holding his hand above the paper, Tsatsu began to speak in an ancient language as the parchment began to glow, his ebony and deep purple aura manifesting itself in the design. As he spoke, a tiny orb of light began to rise from the paper, glowing a snowy white color. With great care, the wolf cupped his hand and held the orb in his hand for the girls to see. The tiny sphere barely levitated above his flesh, swirling with motes of sky blue energy all around it as though it were a small snow globe in his palm. "Behold. The soul, in all it's purity of form." He said softly.

The sphere of light amazed Aileada. She watched it float delicately above Tsatsu's hands. She mentally filmed the event, never wanting to forget the way the whisps of light danced around like blades of grass in a breeze. It was truly beautiful.

With an unusually warm smile, he allowed them to admire it for a moment before returning to his work. Without warning, he slammed his palm down on the paper, unleashing a gust of wind that snuffed out the candles and filled the room with the terrible chilling sensation of a deep and brutal winter storm. The light of the enchanted circle was just enough to see by. With a deadly edge in his voice, Tsatsu leaned down and whispered in his brother's ear. "Avada cerucius, cerberus cruxi. Avada spiritus, lupi mortus." He said as the light from the circle flared with intensity, and then receeded as quickly as it had appeared. And with that, the wolf straightened his tie and rolled down his sleeves. "Now, wake up, dear brother. You have work that needs doing." He said in a chiding manner as he fetched his peacoat from the chair where Victoria had so kindly draped it.

Victoria looks at Tsatsu. "Thank you," she says softly. "I am in your debt. If you need it and it is within my power, I will get it for you."

Zodiac found a strange comfort in rooftops. The height always seemed to calm him. But he still felt guilty for bringing up one of Trebuchet's deceased friends. He knew that he kept all of his friends really close, no matter how stubborn Trebuchet may be. Zodiac tried to think of something to make up for it. But them the building beneath him shook and he heard a god-awful noise in the distance. A cacophony of debris and wailing mixed together in a bloodcurdling symphony. He squinted his eyes and held his palms to his ears. After the wailing subsided he climbed down and went to investigate the source of the noise.

Tsatsu couldn't help but smile as he cracked the bones in his neck and licked his injured wrist, the wound vanishing before her very eyes. "What I want, I rather doubt anyone on this side of the ground could give me. But the kindness is appreciated all the same." He replied as he slipped on his coat and adjusted his tie one last time. "Oh, just one more thing, before I go." He turned and met her gaze as he fastened the buttons of his shirt sleeves.
