“I shouldn’t have to tell you,” Frank hissed back at Stark. He knew of the Avenger’s tendency to play hard-ass around other heroes. While he was no hero, many defended the Punisher for destroying monsters that would be allowed to roam free because of the corrupt justice system.

This time, things were different; the realization kept flashing in Frank’s head like the overhead lights on a cop car. Cthulhu wasn’t a mere fugitive from human law; he defied any and every brand of divine law—a grand offense worthy of a grand punishment. “Whatever, it’s settled. Let’s move.”

Miles "Tails" Prower
[Character Sheet Link]
A quest to save the world- or worlds- wasn't something new to him. What was new about this situation, however, were the people around, the random summoning, the severity of the situation. Most of the time, it was just one world, or some planets. This time, though... Apparently, a whole crowd was needed! He was definitely used to working with others, but it was never this much.

As for who'd been summoned, apparently... he couldn't help frowning. If they needed people to stop a threat of this magnitude, he found it odd that they hadn't summoned Sonic of all heroes; he'd certainly be fit for the job, and would somehow have fun doing it. But the hedgehog that seemed to be summoned here was Shadow. ...It wasn't like they were on bad terms, but Tails wouldn't pin them as close friends, either. Still, a familiar face was better than none, but he knew how, for a lack of better terms, disinterested in small-talk the ultimate lifeform could be.

He thought about this and more as he ate the food book girl- Nadia- had given out, though he failed to take the coat for... obvious reasons. His own fur was enough to keep him somewhat fine in the cold of the cave, but stepping outside to follow the group in the frozen landscape made him question his decision. Oh well, there was no turning back now. Finding himself situate right on the cusp of the front lines and middle, following as he always had, he stayed on the ground for now; flying would not only waste energy- something he seemed to have much less of at the moment, with the old man's explanation in the bar explaining it- but it would also contribute to making noise and attracting attention.

...Which everyone seemed to be perfectly capable of doing already. Hopefully whoever was going for this page first had terrible eyesight and hearing.

With some not-so-friendly reunions and new friendships forming witnessed, Tails glanced over at the familiar figure he knew. ...Yeah, maybe he'd try to say hi later, but Tails had no idea if he'd be successful. Right now, though, he faced back forward, supposing that if everyone else was talking and walking, he'd be able to do the same. Even if no one listened, he found it the easiest way to get his thoughts out.

"If the mass is attracted to the paper, would it still have that connection if we take the page out of the ground? If we have to go through the mass, then I guess it won't matter, but we'll have to be super quick since the mass can be used as a tracker of sorts. Might depend how strong the attraction is, though..." Based on what they were told, he could only assume it was extremely powerful, even with just a piece of this creature. Thankfully, he knew they had at least two fast members in this team- Shadow, and he wouldn't discount his own speed as well.

The cold was no joke.

Even through the fur coats that Nadia had provided, or the natural fur of those who had forgone one, the cold claws of the wind dug itself deep into the pack of adventurers as they trudged through snow and ice. With every step towards that malevolent mountain on the horizon, the sap on their energy tugged even harder. It was as though some horrible entity was howling at them to turn back, screaming from inside their own minds.

Mayble half an hour or so had passed when Nadia came to an abrupt halt at the front of the group. Hastily, she flipped through the pages of her book, reciting a spell that formed a luminescent ball of energy in her hand. Moments later the light vanished, apparently relaying some kind of information that only Nadia could interpret. She spun around.

"It's here." Was all she said. A sudden gust of powerful wind ripped her hood down.

What was there? Nothing about the landscape had changed, there was still no sign of life anywhere to be seen. Yet from above, the green glow of the aurora began to flicker — then fade away. Slowly, darkness reclaimed the land, until only the burning of torches revealed anything.

The wind was howling.

"We really need to hurry." Nadia's features had turned pale in the torchlight — not just from the cold.

It's dark. Something is nearby.

The Templar Knight squinted past the limits of his visor. Nothing was there. It seemed to be almost as if the dark entity seemed to be like Satan, Only seen by Jesus of Nazareth and the lord himself.
It is near, The Lord's voice warned before cutting out, abruptly. She was right too, It was here, and was feeding on everyone's life force. "I fear this monster of the dark itself, Yet I will not withdraw from our quest." The Templar was nearest the front of the group, so he kept his strength as his fur coat flapped wildly in the ghastly cold wind behind him, as his body began to freeze. The torch kept some light, as the beast had eaten away the aura.

As the fireteam drew closer to the mouth of the cave; the whiteout of a blizzard confirmed to all of them that they had to egress quickly to follow the huddle of contacts, and fast. Jackson spoke up as the MJOLNIR thermals dropped with each subsequent pace toward the cave. All of them were like ghosts in the blizzard; a blessing and a curse. "Keep it tight, close combat spread." The team kept their weapons down and lowered, and inched out of the cave mouth; leading down from the incline and into the freezing, dark thicket below. The suit's thermals were struggling as the gel layer lightly firmed up within the bodyglove of the undersuit, and it was undeniable that the Spartans began to get uncomfortable from the extreme conditions as they trudged onward; maintaining their distance and formation to be within rifle range of the observed yellow dots just barely visible now on the minimap. The team's nightvision adapted to the darkness in full; bathing the area around them in a hazy green. As for actual visibility, it was less than ten meters. Yet, something else caused the uneasiness. It was enough for the airy voice of Ellie to break the silence as she spoke to address the team.

"Do you feel that?"

"We all do, Four. Just stay focused and don't stop moving." Jack retorted. The mass of blips appeared to stagnate, then move on separate intervals. As they got closer to the cluster on their motion sensor, they could finally make out the spherical-looking illuminations of light that barely found its way throughout the dark, snowy landscape. Truly, there was no easy way of properly approaching this cluster, or gauging their intentions.

"ROE?" Hailey questioned.

"Do not engage unless fired upon. Four and I will head right, and you and Two will take left. Fan out in either direction and suppress. Felix, you get a grenade in the center of that group. Just in case things go south."

"Ye know whit thay say aboot the plans.. " Felix said, prompting a half-hearted snicker from Jack.

"We improvise, Fel. Alright... here we go."

The group inched closer and closer upon the group, now to where the faint, orange light would obviously cast a glint off their golden-colored polarized visors. Maintaining a two-meter distance from the nearest member of the flank, Jack piped up with an audible enough tone that the wind didn't take precedence over the callout. "Check fire, friendlies at your six!" One by one, the Spartans fanned out from either flank of the leading voice; with Ellie on his right and Hailey and Felix on his left. Jack held his breath, steeled his gaze, and kept his rifle lowered and at the ready. He had to suppress any reflexive tendency to level his rifle should anyone become startled.

The winds sure picked up fast around the group as little in the darkness remained except the flames of the torches and Radec’s “goggles” were still red even in the darkness.

The Colonel eyed the group of others near the back who seemed to be keeping to themselves at the moment and eyed them.

He pushed himself past the whipping winds of the darkness to see what seemed like other soldiers nearby.

He frowned and held himself -arms behind his back in an unusual but calm and sly way. “Hm? Just who are you four?”

He was cautious as he was already moving his blade in a defensive position. But he also kept a careful eye on what happened in front of him. Something was strange.

The sudden, whipping wind immediately put Frank on edge. He felt the drain intensify, which made him stagger for a moment. "Shit..." He aimed his flashlight around, making sure the others were still proceeding as planned. The hair on the back of his neck stood up as his eyes adjusted to the unnatural darkness. He kept his footfalls soft as possible, though the fresh snow made that difficult. If something could sense the tremors of people walking, his efforts would be for naught anyway.

Something else caught his attention--the faint glow of high-tech weapon optics, paired with the footsteps of large men in heavy armor. It wasn't Tony Stark, and it sounded like four of them were circling the group. He shined his light in their direction and whipped around when he caught sight of one. "Yeah, we're friendly. Identify yourself!" he called to them. He didn't raise a weapon for two reasons: their armor looked heavier than Stark's and they didn't look like any cultists he had seen. Not only that, but if they were hostile, they would've fired by now. Hopefully, that intuition built up over the years was right. Otherwise, he'd be looking for tampons and bandages instead of that Necronomicon page.

"Funny... The Necronomicon is a book on raising the undead. To think the answer to a more otherworldly problem lies hidden in its pages," Bayonetta muttered audibly to Nadia. Her thoughts were cut off by the foreboding signs and the pull on her powers. "J-Jesus...!" she sputtered. The strain tested the strength of her bond with Madama Butterfly. She narrowed her eyes, wary of what else could lurk in the darkness in this world.

The Umbra witches were accustomed to the dark. Hell, their powers came from demons, creatures of the dark. Bayonetta felt that alien energy building, confirmed by the apprentice girl. Worse yet, there were people who thought they were slick, sneaking up on them in the tundra. The man waving a flashlight and a cheap toy seemed agitated, which likely made the situation worse. "Friendly, you say? No chance you boys brought the heavy artillery for this little escapade?"

TRINITY
1632104141162.pngTransference static... That was all the Operator felt for a moment. It was dark all around him, and it was as though the transference pod disappeared from around him. Then, he could feel his own body, lying on the freezing ground, in a landscape like the surface of Europa. Mere feet away from him was Trinity, his prized healing warframe, dragged from the depths of Frohd Bek's Ambulas Proxy testing site and rebuilt with his orbiter’s foundry system. He attempted to stand, but something sapped his energy. He was feeble again, hardly able to stand. Whatever this was, its signature was strangely similar to that of a Void anomaly--alien and mysterious with an oppressive undertone.

"Ordis...? Ordis!" he called to his ship's cephalon in-between coughing fits. There was no response; all comm channels were dead. He wriggled and slid towards his Trinity, then stretched to reach the transference plug embedded in her neck. His energy sparked and flowed, animating her. It rose and picked him up, as per his will. The next command was for the warframe to carry him, but where?

The Lotus had taught the Tenno to survive. Recalling that training, he knew to survey the land first. Most conducive to that effort was the mountain ahead. Trinity staggered towards it with him in her arms, the pommel of her polearm dragging the ground. He was shivering; the inhospitable environment was not fit to support any life. Then, the wind ripped through the area, seemingly bellowing from the mountain itself. The Operator groaned and collapsed, his warframe quickly following suit. He panted and held his temples, but held his breath when noises started coming closer. He arched his head back to try and see through the encroaching darkness. The cyan lights lining Trinity's armor gave away his position. He could only hope they were friends and not an enemy search party.

C0412792-1DF0-4D5E-A463-8FF88D95AAE1.jpegThe war-fueled Officer of Battle;

Kotlinsky, the Commandant

The Commandant had continued upon the same path as he always had done so along with the group… not needing the time to waste such an important task with small talk of all things. He especially didn’t like that tone of that damn harlot who was not only beginning to mess with his nerves somewhat, but also the lack of seriousness that didn’t match the situation they were located within. Of course, he could let such a thing go, why get mad over such when he has more pressing matters to attend to. Which was apparently the sudden amount of respect and willingness from others to follow his commands, when told of maintaining formation and such. He would have expected anything else but compliance other than a couple few. It seems that they either trusted their entire lives upon his tactical sense or thought of him highly from his speech. Especially with the Knight known as ‘Rune Kindle’ who followed some sort of ‘lord’, perhaps a god from the way he puts it. In all honesty, he would have cared little about whatever these damned people pray to nowadays if it meant that they were happy, but the topic of artillery such as flaming arrows or cannons did bring a mental laugh to his head.

So, while ignoring the comment the strange eared man had made, he was just about to respond to the Knight… until…

The light… the precious aura of safety that it had provided against the forces of the dark, warding away anything that see it fit to harm them… diminished, now reduce to the small flames of the only source of heat they had, their torches. Grinding his teeth together, he knew that there was only so much time to react before whatever it was in the darkness went after him. If one were to look at the Commandant, they would have found him quickly fiddling with his flintlock pistol, placing some sort of strange bullet into the device as he pulled back the main firing mechanisms of it. May luck be with their side. Now, it was time to begin his action. Barking out a new series of commands, the Commandant said out loud just enough for the party hear

“Soldiers! Prepare for a fight! I fear the worst has arrived, and we only have so much time before whatever it is out there attempts to prey upon us. I only ask for your aid in watching over the very lands around us, even the air itself… for this beast may as well attempt to attack us using the very cover of darkness it has created. But worry not… prepare for something a little bit more bright now.”

Before raising his hand into the air, his flintlock pistol at the ready to be fired. He wasn’t sure if the others weren’t capable of seeing far into the dark, but he wasn’t gonna take any chances. So, with a pull of the trigger, and a loud ‘pop’ noise being created from the pistol, a bright, red light had been fired into the air, lighting up the air far more than the standard torches had provided, allowing others to see far further than only a couple of inches away from them.

Hopefully, this needed light is what they required in detecting where the threat may be.

'Ah, goddamnit all.' Jack thought to himself.

The fireteam had their weapons lowered, yet it was clear from their body posture that, despite being relatively relaxed, they'd show no hesitation in leveling their rifles to the group if someone was clueless enough to overreact. Jack spoke up; addressing the strange red-lensed special-forces type and the even stranger looking soldierlike man who'd shone a light right on his helmet; bathing the four in a pale glow that fully illuminated their physiques and further causing their visors to polarize into a deep gold. They stood equially about six feet five in height, with the only exception of the armored female to his right being a few inches shorter in comparison. Jack's tone was stoic and unflinching, despite being outnumbered and most likely outgunned against beings he'd never ever seen before. "Sierra One-Twenty-Two, Maverick One, Alpha Company SPARTAN, United Nations Space Command NAVSPECWAR Group Five. I'd ask you the same question."

The tall woman had caught Felix's eye with her inquiry, and while she couldn't gauge his expression, he was sure as shit grinning like a madman as he gave a solitary nod and holstered his pistol; grabbing his Grenade Rifle into his hands and two-tapping the Rocket launcher onto his back with his left hand.

The two females of the fireteam both shot their helmets upward to the flare; the one in an olive-drab paintjob quickly snapping her head down as she eyed the onyx-armored figure, spotting the weapon in his hand. as she inched closer to her group.

Eleanor

Status: Cold and uneasy

Walking through the cold dark world made her lose track of time, it felt like it has been more than hours. The cold snow limits movement and the darkness gives a challenge to an archer like her.

Keeping close to those in mid formation, maintaining pace well with the others although each step forward becomes heavier for the young maiden. Embracing herself desperately trying to warm herself, her face became paler than the moon itself. The snow became highlights on her hair. At random times, one could spot her knees surrendering, and kneeling to the cold whilst her arms shivered violently, she continued to stand and walk back up without assistance regardless.

The march came to a halt as Nadia stated something very spine-chilling that left her to stand completely still. Here? She looked around trying to observe through the dark despite not knowing what she is looking for. Nothing is out there yet it kept her on edge. A strong gust of wind flew by, which she guarded her face against using her arms. She fell backward, rolled sideways against the snowy ground as if someone or something just pushed her. Disappearing away from the lit party group as she rolled towards the dark for a brief moment, returning without a scratch and has already drawn her iron bow. Her ears rang for a second from a surprising sound.

Prepare for a fight! The caged-face officer yelled following up with a single shot of his weapon against the dark sky. It was bright and red in color, like a flare. It revealed the positions of almost everyone within its range which is good as to not collide with the others, or to know the current position, she took note of, mentally. Grouping in closer to the middle formation, iron arrow in hand, and a heart-racing in anticipation. Her eyes were focused on two individuals only. Nadia and the officer, while the rest were just skimmed over so she can focus and stand grounded to her formation.

C-Chan looked around, she could sense the enemy was near, but the exact location was lost to her due to losing most of her power on the transition to this universe, however the six tentacles that were attached to her back vanished as six very large black circles that were surrounded by glowing yellow sigils surrounded the group before her tentacles reimerged and were significantly larger, 20 times larger, the tentacles were a good 5 feet in diameter and acted as sentries for the group as the enemy drew closer. Her tentacles also started to emit a glow as the flare slowly began to subside

Godzilla felt the cold pick up. He looked to the creature following him and picked him up before putting him on his back. "You'll be warmer up there." He said, before trouble struck. What seemed to be mechanical enemies approached within the storm, weapons raised as both groups exchanged interrogations. Considering that they had weapons raised, Godzilla opened his mouth as energy gathered in his mouth. "Dog Man, duck down! This is gonna get dangerous!"

He then fired his atomic blast, except insteadd of an intense beam, a ring of smoke shot out at the leader of the fire team, and when the smoke hit him, it did nothing but vanish in the blizzard.

"What?! What happened to my beam breath?!" Godzilla asked, shocked.

Bayonetta’s heart almost skipped a beat. Nothing excited her quite like a nice rocket launcher and the destruction it could sow. She offered a quick “Ooh,” and a pleased grin at the grenadier. It was quite obvious she was no threat—perhaps even an admirer.

Unfortunately, the relief was all too short-lived as the Commandant began frantically wailing. The witch whipped around instinctively. ‘Wow, he’s even more deranged than I had originally guessed,’ she thought to herself. She was no expert on ordinary human nature, but it seemed they always fell into chaos and disarray as soon as the lights went out—especially those men in power. Knowing this was about to turn very ugly, she backed away slowly from the group, nudging Nadia in an effort to also keep her in one piece. A mass of tentacles, flares, and puffs of smoke were a great way to greet potential allies.

Frank lowered his flashlight so he didn’t blind the approaching squadmates. “No callsign here; just a mismatched—“ Frank cringed at the orders barked to the party. He could hear the clicking and clacking of a gun being loaded. “It’s just the U.N. Don’t fuck this up for us, Kotlinsky!” he snapped, failing to compete with the Commandant’s volume. Predicting Fireteam Maverick’s next move after the hostile actions would be a flashbang or even a frag and gunfire, he dove to one side, shut his eyes, and covered his ears.

Shadow and Goku.jpg
Son Goku left the bar and took off flying towards where he felt multiple energies gathering. He'd have to expend some energy but luckily before being summoned he got his hands on one senzu bean. Sadly it'd only restore him to his weakened state. "KAIO-KEN!" He yelled as his body was engulfed in a red aura. When he was about a mile away he landed on the ground and deactivated his Kaio-ken. He ate his senzu bean and his energy was restored to what it was at before his flight. He took off running the rest of the way.
Shadow's eyes traveled around. He didn't bother asking what could be here but his eyes stopped on the newcomer running at them. "That human is more than likely going to freeze." He said not bothering to at all say anything else. Though he did have to admit he was surprised that the newcomer had caught up and wasn't frozen solid in a block of ice yet.
"Man it's cold." He looked around and saw all the fur coats people were wearing. "Got any extras?" He asked crossing his arms and shivering a bit. Goku seemed oblivious to the nearby enemy and finally his head began darting around in every direction. "W...what dark energy who is this?" He couldn't tell where it was but he kept looking around

Inui was holding onto Godzilla, obviously not very good in these types of situations. However, he seemed to be trusting Godzilla more than anyone in the entire group, so, that was a plus. He looked into the mist. His Monitor Conditions skill was being overridden by the blizzard.

F5664D9C-0076-4252-B741-6AB90AA7AE58.jpegThe war-fueled Officer of Battle;

Kotlinsky, the Commandant

As the area around him was lighted up by the very flare that the man had fired into the air, the Commandant took a look around his surroundings, especially to keep an eye on things such as whatever would be coming through the snowy winds at any moment now. It was only then, he just realized how much of a chaos situation that others had made it out to be. Of course his doubts about their competence in the matter was proven true in this case, which was the very fact that, even though some people around him knew what was gonna happen such as the arrival of whatever Nadia had pointed out, he could clearly see signs of individuals not understanding what he meant with such.

Some noticeable cases were some strange group of four armored individuals approaching said group with a series of more than advance flintlock weaponry, at least, from what he can tel at a small glance. The other was seemingly the Godzilla individual breathing smoke in the direction of said soldiers, for what purpose, he doesn’t even know to be exact… was it a threat? And ignoring the Eldritch abomination’s doing with summoning tentacles around the group, he could also note one individual, that same harlot from earlier moving away from the formation, while another, dove to the ground in anticipation for something, yet, a look around himself spotted nothing so far. The latter man also spoke about this ‘U.N.’… did, did they think they were gonna fight the armored men? Only giving a sigh as he holstered his flintlock pistol, and moving a hand to the forehead of his helmet, he merely spoke out once again.

“Men! The four armored individuals are not foes’ more than likely others upon the same quest as as, so calm down. We have more important matters to worry about, such as the findings Nadia harbor with possibly the creature she spoke of earlier nearby!”

The man said out loud, enough for others to hear him and stop their senseless conflict, before turning to face said armored individuals. Walking towards them, although, hands out in the open and away from his holster as to not harbor any aggression (even then he doesn’t doubt his own ability when using his barbed wire), the man stopped a few feet away, before putting a hand to his helmet and giving a salute to them.

“Greetings there… I would like to know your names as to make this process easier. But greetings nonetheless, do excuse our behavior somewhat, as something dangerous is rather nearby as from what our guide had said… a piece of this ‘Cthulhu’ upon the planet knows of our location and is here. I don’t have much time to explain, but I suggest going into formation with the others as of now in preparation for whatever threat will soon be falling upon us…”

The man finished saying in a formal and more quieter tone than what he had used earlier to address the group. In all honesty, he cared little about formality unless it’s needed in cases such as first impressions with the very individuals you may be working with in a while. And while he would have gone through the normal method of yelling things out, he needed to remain his aura of calm and not be seen as someone who barks orders all the time… until later on in which they would be more confident in his ability to lead. Only giving a wave to follow him towards the four Spartans, he quickly made his way back towards the formation and group, giving another glance to the very air around him, just waiting for something to happen.

Inui leaned close to Godzilla, whispering, "I can use some minor healing magic. Keep me handy."
He then looked up and timidly shouted, "I-I am Inui!"

Shadow glared at the armoured people and made a sound of annoyance. "More people. There's already enough of us how much more does the old guy think we need?" Shadow let out a scoff and turned his back on them. He crossed his arms over his white chest fur. "I am Son Goku." Goku introduced himself in a kind voice and he smiled widely with closed eyes as he did so.

C-Chan really wanted to smack the so called commander for thinking she was foolish enough not to tell the difference between the friends and the foes. “Godzilla be weary, the enemy is still out there somewhere, use your immense strength if your breath is depowered for now” she stated loud enough for him and a few others to hear “the rest of us need to keep our eyes peeled, we don’t have enough light to see more then a few feet in this darkness” she added

The man in the robe caught up with them, grinning deeply under the darkness of his cloak. "A brawl?" He said with a smooth tone, "May I join in then?"

Inui looked uncomfortable near the man in the cloak. He whispered to Godzilla, "Don't trust him."
