Shadow glared at the guy. He honestly could say he didn't have an ounce of trust for this guy but he decided he'd ask one of the questions eating him alive. "Why us? Couldn't there have been others? For what reason were we..." He paused to find the word. "Chosen to stop this...whatever this stuff is."

GODZILLA
Caffeine Freak Caffeine Freak

Godzilla had heard the arrival of a new creature. It resembled that of the creature he pushed down, but it's appearance radiated importance. The kind of importance his own kind gives off whenever they appear to restore the natural order to the world. Hearing the creature speak about a danger that could destroy everything in existance, and how it couldnt be defeated intrigued him.

"You have my attention. It sounds like a space monster I killed many winters back. Whatever this creature you are speaking of is, let me take care of it."

Noctis Lucis Caelum

Summoned? Sure he felt this entity feed off his energy, but thanks to the crystal back home, he was already used to that feeling. In which, he still needed to reach, but it was clarified... they were in another dimension after all. He'd already gotten his share of saving another dimension before, a world eater had threatened Sarah and him... along with the terra people. That's how he got his second favorite weapon... her short-sword. Briefly summoning it, all four of his weapons would appear crystalline around him before vanishing. Looking at her sword, he continued listening to the elder man who explained. After he finished, he was accepting questions, and the fox's friend began speaking... questioning why them? "It makes sense that it was random, or at least the dimensions were random. I take it we're all considered heroes or are going to be soon, right? Then why shouldn't the future king of Insomnia or a sunglasses guy who looks like my friend... or the heroes of the rodent world, be able to stop a dimensional-threatening creature?" The larger lizard spoke up, showing his interest. Seemed quite violent... "You know you can't do it alone if it eats away at your mind... not to underestimate you, but who out of us can actually take on a dimension destroying creature by themselves?"

"For one we're not rodents. We're mobians. For two I don't take orders and I perfer to work alone unless required and for three did I ask you the question?" He was now glaring at the one who answered him. His eyes showing anger.

Frank slowly lowered himself back to his seat and laid down his gun. “So I’ve been getting info from the people around here,” he started to explain to the new lads. He pointed to the book girl with his thumb. “That girl over there? Says we got dragged here to wait for her master. Can’t even start to guess how long that’ll take.”

Coincidentally, said master showed up during his exposition. “Speak of the devil,” Castle muttered. After this man spoke of the threat to every universe, he considered his options for a moment. He couldn’t begin to fight some cosmic entity; hell, he was on equal footing with cyborgs and Wolverine. “I’m not qualified to fix this problem,” he answered after a brief moment’s hesitation. However, some ideas bred ulterior motives. “But I’m here now, so I’ll do what I can. Also know people who’ve dealt with crap on this scale. Need their names?”

Jak and Daxter
----------------------------------

Daxter muttered something about being heroes already when he blinked "So...wait... you are telling everyone here is possibly being sucked of their energy and or life-force by who knows what?! AHHHHHHHHHH! Stay calm..."

Jak frowned as he gritted his teeth "World Ending? Me and Daxter's done something like this twice? Just... Not at this kind of level..."

The eco warrior looked clearly frustrated at possibly not only his friends and allies but the very real possibility of his world being destroyed by whoknowswhat so far.

Daxter eyed the book girl and the "master" in the hood after the Punisher pointed at them "Hey! What's THE BIG IDEA?!"

Jak sighed , even though he had a headache. "Easy, Dax."

The Templar Knight didn't move once the mini-musket(?) was pointed at him, and when the man had threatened his life he still didn't move. After the man had placed his gun down, and Rune sheathed his sword.
The old man talked about how evil darkness was spreading across the...multiverse? Multiple worlds? Didn't matter now. All it mattered now was to destroy the darkness' source o' power.
"I may not have power's such as others in this room. And I may not have the strength of an army to rely on. I can be of assistance, I am Rune Kindle of the Knights Templar. I have the Lord and his blessing upon my sword. He gifted it to me, So I shall use it sparingly. I volunteer to even step near the gates of death, Old one. If it is to save lives one last time, So be it."

Gazing into the void window, it is futile to waste any more time. The barmaid she did turn towards to after mentioning interesting things. The old man? Her eyes show a hint of curiosity upon the barmaid. The way he's mentioned sounded like an important individual who might be the reason she's here. the left hand held onto the window frame, her eyes drifted down to the wooden floorboards, to the upset patrons, and back to the similarly fashioned barmaid carrying on her duties.

The light above dimmed her face sitting down to one of the empty tables by herself. Surrounded by unfamiliar faces of different shapes and sizes, her breaths became relaxed as she tries to find a grip on the situation. She could barely remember her last activities, her mind chained into the thoughts of returning home. Where is Home? What is this new dimension? She's heard stories from adventurers traveling from another dimension but she herself has yet to do one. Before she could stand up to ask the staff, an entrance she barely noticed flew open, a hooded figure of sorts entered the tavern.

Standing off her seat on alert, little did she know that this newcomer may contain answers to why they are gathered to this place. Some found them suspicious, she didn't seem to have much of a choice as everyone cannot answer the simple question of where they even are, and here he made an announcement and heeds a warning throughout those trapped within this Tavern.

Questions and comments flew left and right, slowly walking closer and closer to the bandaged man she did with every question asked. Her steps are so sluggish yet remained elegant, it's almost like she's gliding her feet from the flooring. She came to a halt, away from arms reach from the old man as to respect the already crowded space between them.

"This creature..."

She spoke softly in a clear tone. Her gloved hands clasped together against her chest.

"You know of its existence, I, do not. You speak of its powers that even now is inflicted upon us."

"...I ask you, sire... What is to do? What must be done, now?"

The old man shifted in his seat. "In truth, it was not I, nor any one of us who chose you. We called into the abyss of magic for help, and it was you that magic brought to us. If your souls are deemed worthy to weave into the string of fate, it is not for us to question." StrangeOnesShadow StrangeOnesShadow
"There is no one being that can defeat this creature. Many have tried, long ago, to finish what a long forgotten civilisation started — none have returned. Its physical body, torn and scattered across worlds, continues to harvest the flesh of those that draw too near. After eras of feeding, the nightmare will be reborn from the skin and bones of the very heroes who vowed to destroy it. It is the conjoining of these limbs must be prevented at any cost, for once the creature is whole again, all will be lost." Silent Child Silent Child
"For one to be qualified, one must first experience. Forgive my presumption, but I cannot expect a mortal to ever fully become familiar with that of the Eldritch, I do not blame you for feeling out of depth. To send you to certain death would be more humane than what I ask of you now, but I fear that soon even death will not be an escape from the horrors that await." Goonfire Goonfire

With grace, the old man stood, extending his palm in front of him. After a moment, an illusion conjured aboved his splayed hand — a large, old-looking book. Its pages singed at the edges, and its leathery cover contorted into the image of a face twisted in agony. "The Necronomicon." The old man spoke, raising the image of the book for all to see. "A tome of ancient creatures and spells from a time where the ancestor to magic pulsed through the universe, during the writhing afterbirth of creation itself. Within is the means to summon or indeed banish the creature — Cthulhu." The image pulsated, showing pages being torn from the spine of the Necronomicon. "In the First War of the Gods, it was used to weaken the abomination, so that its physical body could be sliced to pieces. The Gods buried the pieces of Ctulhu's body each in different corners of the cosmos, then did so with the pages of the Necromonicon, so that he could never be reanimated." A different image flickered above the old man's hand, a scene of several hooded figures circling a man chained to a stone table. One of the figures plunged a knife into the man's chest. "But Cthulhu's influence over worlds remained. His tendrils have wormed into the minds of mortals, slowly mutating them into abominations that carry out his bidding. They feed him bodies, carry parts of him to other worlds, and recently, have begun searching for the lost pages of the Necronomicon. Should they succeed in piecing the tome back together, Cthulhu will once again manifest at full power in this universe."

As the old man lowered his hand, the image dissolved. A door materialized in the wall behind him. "If this cult of Cthulhu's followers is not stopped, he will return. I will not force you to fight, if you wish to return to your loved ones so that you may treasure the time you have left before the assimilation, you may do so by leaving through the door behind me. However," A portal burst open beside him. "If you choose to challenge the Old One, despite the perils and suffering that await, you may step through this portal to a world known to possess a page of the Necronomicon. If you can find it before the cultists, the universe may yet stand a chance." With a gesture toward his apprentice, book girl, the old man continued. "I would go with you, but I am afraid the Old One would become antagonized by my presence. In my stead, I send my trusted apprentice Nadia to accompany you. She will know how to seek out the pages."

A portal has appeared! You can step through it when you're ready to start the next chapter.

Cthulu. A strange name, yet somehow familiar in a sense. Godzilla never met this entity, but the way the strange important looking creature spoke, it was some kind of otherworldly titan. Godzilla watched as the portal to the page of what he called the necronomicon appeared, and Godzilla spoke.
"I shall take on this mission. I exsist to keep my world in balance. If a creature like what you described attacked it," He felt dread, similar to the time he faced the Muto Prime. The Muto Prime killed his Brother, Dagon, and used his body to give birth to two unholy offspring of hers.

He had killed the Muto Prime and her children, and the role of keeping his world in balance had become his to bear. "Those who wish to follow me are welcome." He said to the rest of the gathered beings, as he walked to the portal and entered it.

"So we're to find pages... and these pages can either summon or banish this Monster? Sounds easy enough... but do we know where exactly it is in this world?" It was clearly puzzling, but it made sense oddly. "If it's about speed, several of us seem to be fast... strength seems to apply to the larger lizard and my new friend here... I think we can do this, even if we don't know where it is" Before hearing an answer, the lizard quickly went through, offering a chance to follow him. The dark rodent quickly followed him, clearly with an attitude. "Well I won't be left behind." He quickly followed, giving a glance back at the others before disappearing.

Frank realized why he was summoned over Professor X or someone with absurd hoodoo powers. These cultists appeared to be mere men—killers and sickos. He’d have no trouble and no qualms dismantling their little operation. “On second thought, I think your magic found the perfect guy for the job,” he supposed while performing a quick brass check.

The dark, cartoonish creature had declared itself the ultimate lifeform and thrown itself through the portal. Frank then muttered, “We’ll see about that,” before following suit just behind Noctis, weapon at the ready.

Bayonetta

A glowing purple circle soon appeared over the tavern door, lines of demonic script circling its rim. An unnaturally tall woman strutted out of this portal, in a manner befitting a supermodel on the runway. The cat-shaped earrings, the hair ribbon sporting similar text, the butterfly-winged shadow that didn’t match the source—Oh yeah, she had to be a witch. Her hair seemed to blend into the fabric of her long, elegant cocktail dress. She glanced around and cocked an eyebrow. “Oh, dear... No chance Rodin merely redecorated,” she remarked in a posh accent.

Then, as if to confirm her suspicions, she felt the heavy drain on her powers. The sensation was alien—dare she say, Eldritch. Having dealt with the demonic and the divine, the presence enveloping this world was unlike anything she had witnessed, but certainly something she’d combat. “Let me guess,” Bayonetta purred, her eyes rolling over to the blind man who was holding up a hologram of a man getting his heart cut out. “A world needs my help defeating an interloper god. I should start charging to kill gods, but this one you get for free.” With her musings out of the way, she glanced to the people leaving through the portal next to the old sorcerer and did the math. She was late.

"Well then, I'm not waiting around to be left in the dust, right, Dax?"

Jak nodded and frowned at the old guy in the robes.

It was over within a flash, and only a single cough brought his mind to alertness. The armored man's hands twitched at his sides as he took in the texture of the ground. This wasn't the cold, hard steel of a starship floor, no. It was Earthlike. Dirt beneath his gloves. At once the man pushed himself to his feet; fully alert
as his eyes quickly located his helmet a few steps away, and his hands just as quickly found purchase among the textured grip of his sidearm. Drawing the handgun into his hands, he looked back momentarily in alarm, only to exhale a quick sigh in relief as his features softened. Behind him were the other three members of his Fireteam; groggily rising to their feet in their own states of disorientation as he moved to place his helmet atop his head and scan the surrounding area; dropping to a kneel near his recovering team and speaking up in a sharp tone. "Get your bearings, we're in an unknown area."

The second member to rise up to his feet was a massive up-armored figure encased in a tankier kit of the same armored power suit as the other three; already having secured a grenade launcher and rocket launcher to his person as he also had his sidearm in his hands. "I'm up. Whaur exactly are we?" The man spoke up as the duo both glanced over to the two remaining operatives rising to their feet. One after another, they shook themselves awake and took immense reassurance in seeing that their weapons were secure, and their other teammates were present. The lead of the fireteam glanced toward the Scottish voice, replying, "It's what I'm trying to figure out, Felix. Hailey, Ellie. Status?"

"Green."

"I'm Green, Lead."

The fireteam of four stood up; nearly back to back as they formed a three-sixty perimeter; each taking up a sector to scan. Once concluding there was no imminent threat, their sights set on Jack's statement. "Got an anomaly here... looks like a portal, ten meters my twelve. The group took up a Delta formation and cautiously began to walk forward as yellow blips were faintly visible on the outer edge of their motion trackers; seeming to head into the massively shaped blip, then fade from their position. It was quite clear that they were not alone, wherever they were. Jack took point as his team flanked either side of him in approach to the mysterious portal; weapons drawn and at a lowered but ready position.

Cthulhu-Chan looked at the portal, listening to the old mans request “seems there is another that needs to be set straight, why does it seem like I’m always the lap dog to the primes” she thought as she dusted off her dress before stepping through the gateway to the universe in need of aid.

upon arrival she drops to her knees “my power?? It’s weakened? Of course, it happens everytime I travel to a new universe, perhaps I can get some of these cultists to help me” she thought as she stood back up, looking at the other creatures that chose to except the task.

The war-fueled Commandant of War;

Kotlinsky, the Commandant

“Women and men; soldiers and outlaws; fools and corpses. All will find their way to us now that the road is clear.”

Darkness… a familiar feeling he was used to here. Ever since his… ‘untimely’ demise at the hands of something that dares to even call itself the ‘Father and Mother’ of both Earth and it’s creatures… yet, even at his final moments, in which he stared down death itself in its eyes, even after watching one of his allies be consumed into the ‘whole’ of the ‘Heart’, even when he recognized who would be next on its list, he never unwavered… he merely continued fighting and commanding his allies to victory, a death he feels that is the one he deserves. It was a shame that seemingly, his entire journey was an unfulfilled one… but nonetheless, if his remaining allies were capable of taking down the ‘Heart of Darkness’ by themselves, then his purpose of protecting his home-nation was already satisfactory enough. Although, strangely, even when he had succumbed to the very same attack that killed the ‘Vestel’, he felt as if he wasn’t truly dead, as if he was floating around in the dark void, unable to feel, unable to see, and unable to do anything other than think. He couldn’t even tell if he had a physical body or not… and how long has this been going for? He couldn’t tell. Was this ‘hell’? Is this the fate that he deserved ever since he had gone on the path most others consider ‘morally wrong’? As if there was a true conclusion of morales other than a hard to understand grey.

Yet, this feeling didn’t last long…. as he-

Snapping to attention, the well-dressed man who looked like he would have belong as a High-ranking Officer leading soldiers within a World War 1 setting kn the side of Germany, if it weren’t for the strange metal helmet on his head, had quickly rose up from his state of dormancy, empty lungs taking in the first of needed oxygen into them as if it were starved of the very needed gas for human survival. He shouldn’t be alive… he shouldn’t even be able to do anything else than think within his head. Yet, the own way his body was sensing his surroundings, from the touch of his hands agains the cold hard floor and the touch of both the fabric of his own cloths as well as his own metal helmet. The sounds of seemingly conversations, although, muffled along with his eyesight being blurry, slowly adjusting to the very room around him. The smell of alcohol within the air as well as other unfamiliar smells reached is nose… and the salty taste of the sweat that was slowly forming on his face.

Was…. all that he went through just a nightmare, no, it wasn’t a nightmare… it had felt all too real to wave it off as that. The pain and wounds his body had suffered was too real for his own brain to imagine, feeling the crimson liquid of life flow through such wounds. He must be alive, through unholy means surely. Still, he needed to know just where did he woke up in. Slowly raising himself off the floor, he took a small stumble forward as his own body’s muscle attempted to regain the sense of normalcy after being unused for who knows long, using one of the nearby wooden tables as support. A quick glance around the room once again had showed more than earlier when his vision was completely blurry and incapable of looking far more than past a few inches. The room was like a setting all too familiar to him, like that of a bar… similar to that of the Inn back within the Ravenclaw Estate that the Heir allowed them to use when not partaking within a mission. However, instead of seeing familiar faces, such as that Highwaman, Dismas, drinking in the bar or attempting to cheat men out of their own money in blackjack, or the savage raider, Beducia, greeting him and handing him a pint into his hand, instead, he had seen far more stranger individuals and unknown faces surrounding him.

And what’s worse, it feels as if something was limiting his power, something that should have been left alone than the condition of his physical body. Was it perhaps his death against his ‘Creator’ that caused such a unbalance to his own power…? No matter that, for now, he was seemingly outnumbered and at the mercy of those around him, although, a few seconds of listening to the conversations around him had told him that it was the complete opposite. They were brought in here… like him, unsafe from being taken by whatever methods brought them here, although, the Commandant was rather late to waking up unlike the others here. Hmph, no matter that, he’ll figure out what the true reasoning for such is.

And it appears that his answers had came down upon him immediately when a old robed man had began speaking nearby. The Officer remained silent as the man spoke… and this reminded him of something all to familiar to him. Those damned Eldritch abominations… it seems that his job is still the same as before, except, this time, dealing with a different force and cult, with said force possibly threatening all of reality within this realm. Pah, as if it could do such a thing… all it took was four trained veteran individuals who were used to fighting the horrors of the dungeons to push even one of these Eldritch Gods back into its rightful place, although, the Heart managed to take both him and another ally, and whether or not the remaining two actually warded off the beast is yet to be known. Still, it appears he will go back into the battlefield as soon as possible… something he enjoys all too much. No rest for the wicked he supposed. Although, some things had caught his fancy other than the individuals around him, and may as well ask some questions.

Giving a loud ‘ahem’ as he approached the side of the old man within the side of his vision, the Commandant’s stance held that of a sign of discipline and experience, hands crossed behind his back, chest high, and a still body, which combined to show the very trained officer trait that he was attempting to show ever since his arrival. The man merely said in a low, yet, loud enough monotone voice.

“Eldritch you say? It appears that this ‘magical force’ have found the right man for the job. Kotlinsky… ranked, Commandant. Leader of the Iron Battalion of the Germanic forces… trained Officer and veteran of hundreds of battles. Back where I’m from, I am very much experienced to this exact situation, although, it was moreso stopping something from awakening and destroying the planet with it than the entire Universe, but I’ve fought a Eldritch ‘God’ the same. I have a few questions if you don’t mind me asking. The first one… why aren’t these ‘Gods’ doing anything to stop such a thing if they would be capable of knowing so much more than us ‘mortals’. Is it that they don’t see this as worth of their own time? Do they not even care about the end of the universe itself, and as such, brought individuals from varying backgrounds to do the dirty work for them? I struggle to even find the reason to call them gods if they can’t even lend a finger towards our cause. As for the second question… wouldn’t our presence alone, whether sooner or later, disrupt this ‘Cthulhu’ as well? We would be going against its very goal, and soon enough, we would likely catch its attention, and might be able to even track us as well. Is it that you harbor more attention than is what needed? What is stopping it from sensing the same magic you have taught your apprentice as well? You’ve done a poor job of providing needed information if the very fate of the Universe relies on us… especially if you are planning on throwing us straight into the fray without any information of what to expect, such as enemy magic, beasts, weapons… hell, even numbers are required. To an trained Officer… your sense of tactics are lacking, but I’ll aid in such a thing if you need it ‘magician’.”

The Officer finished, the entire time, his voice remaining at the same uninterested and monotone voice at it always has been. Truth be told, this individual was a fool as to expect them to do all the research upon such themselves, and such a thing would very much result in casualties, if not, deaths throughout the process. Knowing more about what is there to expect is key in figuring out his own tactics and how to counter whatever his own foes have in store for them as well. Although, it appears his own allies cared not of such a thing, and even went into the portal itself. Hmph… he’ll make sure they shall be trained into proper soldiers, if not, they may as well be meat shields for the coming trials ahead. The Commandant awaited a response, and if satisfied, would have eventually entered the portal… although, for now, he had stayed here and waited.

The Templar Knight pulled his shield off of his back, and unsheathed his sword. He bowed his head down in prayer, speaking with ancient English,
"O' lord. Shine your blessing upon me and my newfound kin. I shall fight 'till death If required for the protection of the many earths."
He rose his head, before walking into the portal, and waiting for what waited beyond.

"Uh— yeah, what he said." Tatsu nodded at the knight before turning to the old man. "How exactly we supposed to fight somethin' we know nothing about, and where exactly are these gods that punked this demon in the first place?" While he didn't know much about whatever the old guy was talking about, Tatsu knew that Cthulhu had to be one badass motherfucker to go out swinging in a turf war with the gods.

For a moment, the old man considered the line of questioning, then responded. "I am afraid those that defeated the Old Ones in the First War are long gone. Silence is all we have heard from their descendants. If the Old Ones are to return, there will be no salvation in the divine." He rose, returning his chair to its table with a wave of his hand. "Time is short. I am aware you wish to know more, but for now I can only ask for your trust. Speak with Nadia, she possesses the knowledge you seek." Another portal opened before him. "I will attempt to distract the creature, though do not expect him to be fooled for long. Even dormant, he will sense your presence."

And with that, the old man vanished.

Tatsu, across the room, stared at the empty space for a moment. "Oh HELL no." He abruptly began marching for the door. "Aint no way I'm fighting a giant space god and his cronies. I'm outta here." Yet as he grabbed the handle of the door that would take him home, Tatsu paused. He thought of his wife at home, his brother, his friends. People he'd be dead without, and here he was about to walk out on the only chance at saving them. "...Damn it." Tatsu hissed, wrenching his hand off the door. "You know what? There's only room for one immortal in this universe, and it's gonna be Immortal Tatsu!" He angrily adjusted his frilly apron, marching toward the portal. "If I gotta smack the respect into a buncha crazies to see my wife smile again, that's exactly what I'm gonna do!" His war cry along with his body was swallowed up into the portal.

After they had departed, Nadia approached the knight. "I'm sorry, he— my master likes to be theatric like that. A lot, actually." She traced a finger along the edge of her spellbook. "I actually do have a plan! Well, more of an idea, but I know at least this first world isn't as dangerous as some of the others. Though I haven't been able to monitor it like I used to. I think it's best if I show you when we get there, you'll come help, right?" She stepped towards the portal. "If you want more time to think about it... I understand. But don't take too long, okay? These portals take a lot of energy to open, and it'll be a while before we can open another one." Hastily, she hopped through the portal after her allies.

Chapter 1: The Hungry Mountain
Those that stepped through the portal were cold.

Not so much because travelling through a hole in warped dimensional space is cold in of itself, naturally portals don't come equipped with air conditioning like buses or trains or other methods of transport, but more so because of where they happened to end up was an icy cave surrounded by arctic tundra in the dead of night.

From beyond the mouth of the cave, the frozen landscape swept across and up into a distant yet prominent mountain. Everything would be pitch black, were it not for rippling green glow of an aurora across the sky. There was no sign of life to be seen outside.

A burnt out campife had been dug into the centre of the cave, one which Nadia relit with a spark from a quick spell. As the flames revealed the rocky interior of the cave, the apprentice hurried for a pile of thick fur coats that had been stashed in the corner, along with a rack of torches.

"Please, take one." Nadia began handing out the coats to the summoned, before throwing one on herself. "I also stored food here... somewhere." She began frantically swiping at the layer of snow on the cave floor, presumably searching for a container. "...You guys can take a look around if you want, we should be a safe distance away from... it. I'll be right with you!" She continued to forage across the cave floor.

You're in a cave! It's kinda cold.

You can search the interior of the cave, or take a look around the perimeter.

He set his fur coat against the wall of the cave. "Hmph. I'm a damn animal so I refuse to wear other animal skins or fur." He began walking around.

Godzilla knew what this was. It was a Cave. Godzilla remembered the cave he used to sleep in back home before being brought into this situation. He was offered a fuzzy wrapping and a burning tree with no limbs, but he declined. "I no need for this. I went to the frost covered southern land to fight a space monster. I can handle a slightly cold breeze."

Godzilla then decided to advance ahead into the cave. "I think something may be down here." He brought his head up to sniff the air.

Rune Templar

The Templar Knight stared at the frozen and Icy cave. He had never been in such an area of such cold conditions. He shivered slightly, as his armor grew cold. The group was then offered fur coats with the thickest of fur he has ever seen, as well as torches and food.
He put his shield back onto his back, before quickly throwing a fur-coat over himself.
"Ah, Such items I am most fond of." Rune remarked before taking a torch. "Say, You did say ye have food right? I am working an appetite, and I would be most grateful of even jerky."

Cthulhu-Chan entered the cave “another cave. Why is it always caves, why can’t it be a field of cows, I’m starving!” She thought before looking around the cave and seeing the others.

“Food?” She asked out loud, her voice didn’t really match her body, her English wasn’t that great, everyone could make out the word she said, but with it was the sound of gurggaling from a sea creature.

*sigh* I should’ve payed attention to my sisters lesson a little more closely, oh well, they will probably not care much for it, maybe some of them might try to kill me when they find out who I am, this might actually be a little fun”. She grinned as the thoughts passed through her head before taking a seat on a nearby rock, making sure not to tear her dress

E212C029-394F-4068-B960-DA95A346AB46.jpegThe war-fueled Commandant of War;

Kotlinsky, the Commandant

Well, it looks like he wasn’t the only one here who was wondering about such… taking a glance towards the strangely clothed man nearby with the strange speech pattern. Honestly, he was moreso expecting no one else (so far that hasn’t gone into the portal) to merely disregard such a thing, and continue on in a mindless ‘heroic’ bliss in order to save the entire universe… a responsibility that requires far more than merely having bravery and strength to face a threat, especially if these foes are Eldritch abominations… ones that may be unknown by even him. But it looks like one other individual had the mind to question things before mindlessly charging into the portal, even if it needed Kotlinsky to place the most logical thought into the conversation. Hmph, if these are the type of people he may have to lead, then he will have hard times ahead if they couldn’t adapt to it.

And now, came the answer from the old man. And what came out of his mouth… was… less than satisfactory. At the very least, his first question of why these ‘Gods’ haven’t made the attempt at returning to the fray in order to combat such a threat, their descendants missing from the fray, and not being able to rely on even the divine for safety. As if he would even pray to those in the first place, if the only one he knew, which was his ‘Creator’ lying dormant within his original home was an example of such a thing, he much rather stay as far as possible from the path of the divine than to fall into madness and fanaticalism serving under them. But, the rest of the answer did not tell him everything, the Old individual having to leave in order to distract these Cthulhu, but he did note the relating to the high chance of them being noticed. It’s to be expected, after all, they were going against his awakening, and surely, he would have notice them sooner or later within their ‘Journey’. But trust alone can be a fickle thing, and he still had his suspicions upon the matter.

No matter, it appears his apprentice, Nadia, will be providing him with the information he requires. And after seeing the same man from earlier who agreed with him, struggle a bit of whether or not to leave home or to enter the portal before eventually going with the latter, he then turned to face the apprentice that had acknowledged him. Hmm, well, no wonder the man was acting as such, too dramatic for his own good. But the possible idea did interest him, and when asked about aiding them in their efforts, as much as he would like to see them struggle in a attempt at fighting against a threat that is far beyond their mortal understanding and fight beasts that would make even the most sane of men claw at their eyes in terror of such a sight, he had a goal, and that’s to fight.

“I will aid in your efforts the very Eldritch threat that threatens the entire universe… although, do expect me to take charge as the leading officer for the group. A mind capable of tactics as well as both not only knowledge of fighting the Eldritch beasts and their cultists, but even fighting a Eldritch God myself with but only three others, it’s best if I provide my aid in the matter in the form of commanding. I do, only hope that those… ‘reckless’ individuals are capable of listening to a few commands that prove vital to our efforts.”

And with those words, he had entered the portal-

Being the last one to exit the portal, as like his own entrance to the inn, he was the last to experience what was occurring around him. It was… cold, not the uncomfortable kind, but a familiar kind of cold. Reminds him of the times he fought upon the battlefield during the winter months. Thankfully, both his own naturally resilience to such weather along with wearing a coat himself had staved off the feeling of cold of his body. Although, he did went and retrieved a torch nearby from the rack (as well as non-verbally rejecting the coat handed out to him), he went ahead and stored it within his inventory, for safe keeping if need be. He already had a couple other torches within it, but an extra wouldn’t hurt. Taking a glance around as well as his… ‘allies’, he may as well perform a speech in order to increase their moral. After all, a happy ‘soldier’ is a competent one than a sad one. And he certainly didn’t want to resort to executing a few ‘hopeless’ individuals and use fear instead of hope as a morale tool. Giving a small ahem, the man said out loud in a commanding voice

“Allies!”

He waited a couple of seconds to see the faces that may have turned towards him, expecting something from the Commandant who had spoken out loud for others to hear. From there, the Officer placed his arms behind his back, beginning to move back and forth between two imaginary points on the ground, and had continued with.

“My name is Kotlinsky… Commandant of the Iron Battalion of the Germanic forces from my home world. And I’ve come to you all with something that we all share in common…. we all can from differing backgrounds and worlds, having experiences that some others here would have never thought of before. Maybe you were a valiant soldier back in the forces of your home nation’s military back home, having fought in a thousand battles and many more to come, lending your aid in order to support your very nation and people in their time of need. Perhaps you may have been a bounty hunter, going after the greatest of bounties in order to cleanse the world of what is evil and wrong. Perhaps you may have been a magician… talented in the arts of the arcane and the unknown. But we all share something, and that is what we are fighting for.”

Stopping for a second, and looking around once more for reactions, wondering how have his words been affecting them so far, and continued with.

“We are fighting for the very fate of the Universe itself. No matter how different we may be, all of our end goals result in making sure the very universe itself doesn’t get consumed by this Eldritch God and it’s abominations. I have experience with fighting such a threat along with others, and I feel all of you will learn to do the same as well. But that’s only if we can work together to fight as one united force within our darkest hours. I am not saying that you must get along with everyone, but I expect teamwork and a sense of aiding each other when the time calls for it. I won’t deny, many of us will be surprised by what lies for us ahead, some of us, haven’t even heard of what an ‘Eldritch’ creature is. But worry not, with my experience fighting against such creatures in my past, as well as my leading words and knowledge of tactics as a Officer who had lead many successful battles and soldiers in the wars I have participated within in the past… we will be able to fight this threat! I only ask for your cooperation as well as hope, hope to beat such a threat no matter what, in return… and with it, we will defeat this ‘Cthulhu’, we will defeat it and it’s foolish cultist, and we will defend the very worlds that rely on us from the clutches of its hands!”

The Commandant finished, now awaiting the response from the very individuals around him. Ugh, saying those words and essentially lying to them instead of saying the ugly truth was… sickening to him, but he would much rather deal with this now than having the very group itself fight amongst themselves as if they were mere animals. Hope is a powerful tool after all, say some convincing words and make sure to intend that goal… and you got yourself an loyal army that will follow you to hell and back.
