Fantasy Aether: The Age of Light OOC [being rebooted]

Hey pals, I need to do some work then I should be on in about an hour or two if anyone needs me, I doubt you will but hey you never know.
Keep an ear to the ground, cause the Trapdoor Drinker post should be coming fairly soon. A little later tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest, I'd say.

Saurosian Saurosian

Okay, this is mostly fine - but there's a few tweaks that do have to made for this to be slightly more lore friendly
  • The Lumensiri Forest is basically impenetrable to everyone but elves, even then entry is not guaranteed and most just wind up back at the entrance. Bandits can not operate there, due to its nature. Also nothing comes out, so there's not really anything to guard against.
  • Where abouts is Faywald? Is this a small plot of land on Enderach?
  • Usually I'd say no on the mage front, but it's an interesting twist and we can run with it.
  • What's your plan with this character moving forward? He doesn't seem very hands on - might have trouble getting involved in more physical events?

That's the type of feedback I was looking for, and my primary concern with the character going in coincides with your last point. IC talked about political intrigue, which was what sparked the idea for this character. If things are going to be more physical, then I think I had ought to reconsider.

Faywald I imagined as a small area, perhaps with two-three villages, located within Enderach and near the Lumensiri forest.

The mage part was mostly included to demonstrate his decline from physical to mental warrior, but I'll remove that if need be.

I think I'll let the idea ferment a bit more, and maybe scrap it altogether, if this character just won't fit in. If I decide to stick with it, I'll get rid of the Lumensiri Forest part of his history. If not, I'll probably have a new CS up tomorrow or the next day.

Thanks for the feedback.

nah the mage thing is interesting. Keep it. Political intrigue is super good, I wanted more political characters, but you might want to make him slightly more physical - simply so we can have him run around with the others on quests and such. He could be a bit like Ulfric? Grizzled and old, but still got a kick perhaps?

My problem with that is that, if I make him any more physical, he very quickly becomes a completely different character. I like the idea of making a more Ulfric-esque character, but I'll need to conjure some inspiration for such a character.

As another possibility, I'm thinking of a hag who lives a little ways into the wetlands, where she practices "black magic" (alchemy) and offers services/goods such as healing (by way of herbs and mixtures), guidance through the wetlands, rare materials, fancy poisons, etc. to those who dare to travel to her. A local half-legendary entity who seems to be far older and more mysterious than she is, has probably lost her mind long, long ago, and is now visiting the capital to give a gift of her own to the newlyweds. Any issues so far with that?
