Fantasy Aether: The Age of Light OOC [being rebooted]

Dain'll wave it off saying he himself hadn't gotten all the details, using his award winning smile to win the dwarf over(and his +10 bluff)

Besides, the arrogant bastard of a mage IS going around shooting lightning at little kids and threatning to do so to any other homeless he sees.

It's less a thug for hire gig and more a job to enact a little karma for those to weak to do it themselves.
Quite true, and Belegor does have a soft spot for kids. Damn, I didn't think a charrie fight would happen so soon! xD

Markku sent that message through the beggars in an attempt to scare the thieves away and leave him alone while he was in Alcamoth, as far as I understood. As Dain's response is to send a burly dwarf with a gun and a hammer, I'd say that plan backfired pretty spectacularly.

"So, I hear you like terrorizing children."
*Levels rifle at Markku*
"Gotta say lad, that's not kind."

It was the whole "sending lightning down within a few feet of children" bit that pissed Dain off. That, and the bastard expected him to get the beggars out of the streets for free.

Mostly the latter.

Though, as Dain is apparently the king of the Alcamoth underworld, I have to wonder why he'd send some dwarf he just met instead of some nasty gang of street toughs that he probably has on hire specifically for times where he needs a show of force such as this one.

Because he's lazy, the entire underground probably knew by now what Markku was able to do, usually no sane person wants to be on the receiving end of lightning, Belethor looked experienced, Dain knew that he himself couldn't do jackshit to the mage, and finally, "This dwarf looks like a sucker."

Belegor is a pretty serious show of force in himself xP

You best hope that bluff works, or Belegor will be cracking more than just one skull :D

good news. i'll be having my part up (finally) tonight or tomorrow. sorry about the delay and it will NOT be a normal thing since i don't plan on getting anymore teeth pulled. unless something unexpected happens.

Markku could one-shot Belegor before he even rose his rifle.

A Mage - even one who hasn't developed their full powers yet, like Markku - is more than capable of curb stomping a large group. If someone said "I need you to threaten a Mage" the usual response would be "Fuck off/Give me an Army/give me enough money to buy an army"

It would not be logical for Belegor to accept such a deal from a stranger, and Dain can not really expect him to succeed - after which the Mage would probably go after him. The logical response would be "Not worth the hassle" He's also low tier nobility from my understanding? That's a whole other landmine. I think you'd be in danger of writing yourselves into a corner. But if you all plan it amongst yourselves with that in mind, then I guess I can't really say no. Haha

Also please remember that a royal wedding is happening soon. You've got Paladins as well as the usual guard patrolling the streets. I'd rather you all reach the Wedding and not be In Prison/dead. :3

Try to avoid outright player confrontation. Or if you are going to do it, be aware of what can happen. <3

Also the Advantages are just for me. It's up to you to decide how your characters interact haha.

Okay. I keep trying to write a real response, but honestly, I don't care enough to do som

It was meant to be a joke.

Did you get my PM about the mages for you and Prrrgadilly?
oh shoot! I did but i haven't read it since it was first sent out. I'll look over it again. I'm looking through several things anyway to try and make sure my post is as accurate as can be.

Oh, did you wanna give her some sort of defensive ability? Perhaps a barrier of light she can use?

i was actually thinking about that for the past few days lol. She knows how to use a one handed sword to a basic degree. But i had a hard time thinking of what other abilities she would be able to use without making her seem overpowered. That's when I read something about enchanted staves having separate abilities and Aurora does have one of those items. i was either thinking of her being like Soraka or Lux from league of legends. But lux is a good bit ridiculous in how powerful she'd be if she also had healing. But having one of Soraka's abilities that would keep other mages from using their magic also seems a bit op.

So maybe a barrier of light will suffice. At least for now. Maybe as the story progresses she can develop more light abilities and eventually get to a little bit of lux tier with modifications. (i've been thinking about this a lot :/)

oh and i'm almost finished with my part. Sorry it's taking a while to write. I had to completely rewrite some of it because I just wasn't feeling the scenario i initially created for Aurora. It didn't flesh out her personality enough, i felt.

Could you add the time/location/character to your post please?
It's just for consistency <3

ikr? lol. it took me way too long to get the right size for the pic or Aurora to match up with the youtube vid link. in terms of size.

and yeah, i knew i was forgetting something like that. derp.

i'm glad the website doesn't keep track of how many times you edit a post lol. i'm constantly finding stuff i wanna change or add. luckily it'll immediately stop whenever someone else post after me.

Not overpowered at all amirite or amairait?

But really, I was thinking that the characters that are physical like Belegor and Crow are meant to be strong early on while mages and such are meant to be strong later. I mean like, a mage is going to progressively get more powerful, regardless of whether he has mastered his magic or not due to how much fantasy and bs can be written due to the involvement of magic. Like there is nothing stopping them from accessing some "dark shadow power", "some super duper source of energy that powers them up", "using their full potential" or even discovering some random ass hidden power "locked away in them by their great granddad" in terms of these boosts making any sense because magic on its own makes no sense. A magical character can get more powerful in a jiffy and it can be complete nonsense. Physical characters with no access to such magic have no real way to become more powerful, except for a few increases caused by changes in equipment and whatnot which is something all characters have access to, meaning that their power level will stay consistent throughout the entire rp. They just have to try so much harder to get a fraction of a power a mage can get in 2 seconds. If this is the way you want to take it then I will not object any further but having a character "strong enough to curb stomp a group" out of nowhere just like that is not the best thing there is. If a character is indeed that powerful in terms of magic that early on, surely they would need incredible physical drawbacks, shit thats even worse than what I gave Andwyn for balance.
