Fantasy Aether: The Age of Light OOC [being rebooted]

I think you forgot something
I think Belegot would most definitely be interested in joining the tourney! And being a decades old veteran still in his prime, I think he has at least a decent shot :p Nothing trains a man to fight like fighting for your life against bandits, brigands and monsters of every kind!

Also if there's a marksman contest
*Belegor enters arena, takes out rifle, destroys the target with one shot.*
"Good luck beating my boomstick laddies."
*Gets Disqualified*

Everything is A-OK. I imagine the King and the new Queen would be watching a royal tournament, but it's hard to say if anyone can enter - usually, it'd be quite an honor for such a thing. Knights and stuff. Perhaps someone can get pulled in when one of the Knights gets injured/drunk

xD Hey, shooting a boomstick takes skill!

Lol in reality he probably would be, but technically he it's still a marksman skill.

"No one appreciates guns these days..."

King would be like "Holy shit that was the best what do you mean he was disqualified give him a castle"

But the whole point of a gun and even crossbows is to have a bunch of untrained soldiers fire projectiles without needing as much training as an archer. It is a lot more difficult to use a bow than an ak-47.

True, though Belegor is a persuasive type kinda, so perhaps he could schmooze his way in? But yeah if he could join that would be great! =)

King would be like "Holy shit that was the best what do you mean he was disqualified give him a castle"
"By the gods! You sir, are getting your own Boomstick for this!" If only Belegor had known about the royal wedding beforehand, giving the king his own Dwarven rifle would have been a fine gift!
I assume we'd only be able to do one or the other, tourney or marksmen's contest? Cause Belegor would prefer to smash stuff

Little does he know, he wasn't disqualified for using a rifle, he was disqualified because he shot the wrong target.

"Dude, that wasn't the bulls-eye, that was the concession stand!"

"Well, you have to admit was still one hell of a shot eh?"

So the simple idea with the wedding and celebration is that it's simply gonna be one or the very few times - if only time - where everyone will be in the same spot. Not just players, but the main NPCs and characters from the other towns and cities. Dwarves from their last city will be there as well to pay tribute (The land and City they have was given to them to live on after all.)before everyone scatters to deal with various plot points.

I'm just planning for Lucina to glide about, enjoying the various stalls and such. Maybe she'll have a Paladin with her to bounce off. Lissa will be attracting quite a crowd when she plays. Up to you what you would like. A tournament can be arranged, but it's gotta be logical and any player who wants to enter would need a decent reason.

Ima just have a giggle.

My boyfriend really wants me to get into Final Fantasy. But I've got so many other games to play >_>

I did not really wanna fuck the fun of the rp up with science and shit but i guess the usage of magnets and by extension physics warrants it.

Firstly, for what you have in mind to work you need really powerful magnets. Magnets were not something you can come across just like that. We are making the type of magnets you would need for this right now. If we are realistic, unless there is magical intervention, no magnet he can get his hands on would be that effective. Even if he did get an effective magnet, the problem of how magnetic the arrowhead would be arises. Now both steel and iron are magnetic. But only the steel and the iron we use now. Back then, blacksmiths had no way of purifying these substances or keeping the composition consistent. Alloys like black steel and black iron would come into play. This would mean that the material that the arrows would be made of would be having a lot of impuritites. And it is these impurities and extra chemicals blacksmiths couldnt filter out that make the material only slightly atrracted to magnets. Sometimes it would make it so that it would not be affected completely. Lets say he got good modern magnets, and was able to bring pure steel arrows. What would happen is that the arrows would fly in their trajectories, and then before hitting the target, the tips will be attracted closer to the center. Only the tips though. The momentum from the initial flight will still be there, and since it is much greater it is going to over come the magnetic force. As he starts shooting, all the arrows are going to have their tips closer to the center than the rest of the arrow. It would be painfully obvious that he is cheating at the point with all the arrows making a cone around the target, with him having meh aim and hitting all over the target. If he has good aim with the bow and arrow, then I think that would warrant it to be written in the cs as a talent and not just a passive skill.

Depending on the realism, we could remove these realistic things and just be like "those dwarves have ways to do all that". I dont know. Im sorry. I just dislike magnets being used like its some fucking tom and jerry cartoon
Are you trying to imply that the King of Thieves couldn't hit the broad side of a barn?

I am implying that he should not be able to hit a bullseye in a competition like this based on skill alone. Because otherwise, it would be an actual talent that has to be noted rather than just a throwaway passive ability.
