Fantasy Aether: The Age of Light OOC [being rebooted]

I won't RP the ceremony or anything, I'll just do a little info box with like "this is what happened, here's where the party is. Go have a ball" y'know?

the name Aether comes from Metroid Prime 2.

Awesome. This, then, is the only appropriate theme for the Wetlands:

I actually have a few questions.

First, when you say Alcamoth has multiple levels, do you mean it's like several concentric circular walls nested within one another, a la Attack on Titan? Or is it like a big hill where the "higher" areas are simply higher up on the hill and the lower areas are closer to the base? Or are the levels literally built on top of one another, like the whole city is one big building with multiple floors? If the last, how does one go from one level to the other? Is there an elevator or a set of stairs or something?

Second, as far as the festival goes, I want to write that Hogan's Forge has been tasked by the royal family with crafting an ornamental sword that will be bestowed upon the winner of a tournament held during the festival on the day of the wedding. Is there any problem with that?

Probably Attack on Titan, but on a city sized scale.

And if we're going with A darker fantasy, Martin's a good source of conventions and standard ideas. So more than likely, stuff like weddings, role appintments, and birthdays would warrent a feast and a tournament, with jousting, archery competitions, and a battle royale, each one getting a seperate champion and a different reward. I doubt magic would get one, due to it's rather religeous nature, but that's up to Avari Avari . So more than likely, Hogan's forge would be called on to make a few things. Dwarf smithed rewards for all the competitions? Every noble, mercenary, and adventurer in Aether would go head over heels at the thought.

Oooooooooohhh, a battle royale? Just the kind of thing Belegor needs to take out some frustrations after his botched expedition, and what better way than to bash in some peoples chest cavities with his big ol hammer? =D Good idea mate!

Blunted weapons! And no killing! There are some important people in there!

Killing should only be an "accident" done to people that you "adore". You see where I'm going with this? *nudge nudge wink wink*
Yes. It should only happen when your "Tool of friendliness", "slips" from your "hug givers" and "gently floats" to and "kindly finds room for itself" on top of your "best friend's" head. After that point, everyone will know that all the "life juices" of your dear friend spreading around were clearly not your fault as it was "unintentional".

Exactly. And real accidents do tend to happen alot. Lots of people tend to die by the end of these things. It's only natural.

Well, if we're going the Game of Thrones route, we better watch out. It's well known that at least one important person has to die brutally at any wedding in a George R.R. Martin-inspired universe.

Alright, so my wife and I are buzzed as hell, so my post may come a bit later, but I call blue for Belegor! xP

Actually, that's mostly the show. While the books do have a solid number of notable deaths, they don't even have a third the "well-known characters" death of the shows. And nobody died at Renly's wedding.
