Act 1

"Yes I am sure, Archie came up to me and he started acting frantic saying something about Hades wanting souls. Then he fainted, he is in the hospital now we could go and see if he's well enough to talk." Emma explained, "Regina you are not going about this alone. I am coming with you."

Noticing the ice, Faro heads to the surface. It must be Jay. Jack Frost right? Someone with Frost in their name would definitely be his first guess for ice randomly appearing. He waits a second, hovering just under and preparing himself before going up. He's completely winded, but can quickly breathe the air around him. He stays above water, or just within the skin, not rejoining Ingo, as he swims over to Jack, and for some reason he's suddenly worried. He's proud of being mer, and he definitely doesn't want to be hiding it, but he's worried Jack will just leave instantly or hate him or something. He knows it's ridiculous, but he can't help it.

He approaches Jack from behind, resting his head and elbows on the ice ledge but keeping his tail hidden underwater. "Do you really need to be freezing everything? It's cold enough in here already!" He asks jokingly. Whilst he waits for a reply he stares at the musical note on his wrist. The bandage had disappeared along with his clothes and legs, and will probably come back with them too. He wonders if Jack noticed the lack of clothes on the beach or just didn't even consider it. Doesn't matter, he'll explain soon. Once he's got rid of his sudden nerves that he hates himself for having.

Jay chuckled, shaping a chunk of ice into a the familiar "rubber duckie" form, setting it floating towards Faro. "Forgive me for battling climate change," he said.  His eyes slid over the merman's form.  "You don't seem to be under any distress from the cold.  Besides, who could resist the opportunity to see you in your natural state?"

Regina regarded her step-granddaughter coolly.  "Miss Swan," she said, "believe me, I have no intention of dealing with the Lord of the Underworld on my own.  But I'm not exposing Henry to this kind of danger, and your parents aren't equipped to deal with this."

Faro smiles slightly at the compliment before sliding the rubber duck back to Jay. The comment on his natural form was actually really encouraging, and his worries faded away. "Nah. Cold isn't actually too bad. Fish are a bit panicked by winter coming early but I'm sure they'll cope. Anyway. Are you going to stay dry up there or actually join me?" Faro dives down quickly, splashing a large amount of water at Jack with his tail before surfacing fast enough to watch the water hit the other boy.

@commanderproton

Jay laughed as Faro splashed him, a genuine laugh of genuine mirth.  It had been a while since he'd laughed like that.  "All right, have it your way," he said, and stripped down to his blue briefs, setting his clothes on his icy raft.  He dove in, turned a handful of water into slush, and tossed it at Faro.

Faro laughs as well, that's not fair. He doesn't have powers like that but he doesn't really care. He can do things that are more fun. "Want to see what the bottom of the ocean looks like then?" He smirks at the other. Should be something fun. Something new for the other one. He loves showing people new things. Loves showing off the place he calls home.

"I'm mer." Faro states, and he sounds as proud as someone declaring they're royalty. "Mermen and mermaids are your silly human descriptions." He corrects. "And yes, I've noticed. Still, should be able to get through The Skin. Might hurt a bit though." He raises his eyebrows at his own statement and laughs slightly. "More innocent than it sounds I'm afraid."

Jay swam in close.  "What a shame.  Here I was, hoping for something wicked," he said, waggling his eyebrows.  "Very well, then.  Consider me in your hands."

"You're going to have to trust me. Quite a lot. I'm not planning to let you drown, you look too nice for that." A hint of sarcasm enters his voice for the next word, "Surprisingly, I haven't experienced drowning but I've been told it's pretty bad and this can feel like it. Don't really think it should if you do it right though." He grabs the other boys hand. "Don't hold your breath, just trust Ingo to support you. I know it sounds a bit odd but just forget about your need to breathe and then you won't have to here." He pulls the boy down before he can even consider trying to take a breath in, pulling him towards the bottom and watching his face if he does, to check he's okay.

Jay clung to Faro as he was pulled under.  He tried to fight the panic, but though he was effectively immortal, some part of his brain didn't realize that, and he struggled, chest burning, aching for air.  Then, he let himself... freeze over, was really the only way to describe it.  The power of Winter thrummed in his veins, freezing his panic and anxiety.  He did trust Faro.  He wouldn't have gone through all this to drown Jay.  So through ge held close and tight to the sea-boy's body, he didn't fight or struggle.

"Good isn't it!" Faro says with a grin once he sees the panic disappear from Jay's face. The water gives them both the oxygen they need, and it tends not to be too hard to talk here either, just a bit odd to get used to. Not for him, but for others. Ingo is surrounding and great and having it running through his veins is the best feeling.

Jay blinked.  He could see, he could hear, he could breathe.  He turned to Faro and let out a laugh.  He knew that the folk of the sea could cross realms, but he had no idea they could bring others into their sphere.

"This... this amazing!" Jay said, eyes bright with wonder and joy.

"Isn't it?!?" Faro replies enthusiastically. He's glad Jay enjoys it too. Maybe he'll come along more often. Call of the sea can be pretty strong some times so he might not even need asking. He swims with the boy along the bottom of the sea unto he reaches a small coral reef. It's nowhere near as impressive as what he's used to, but it's still pretty beautiful, especially to someone who hasn't seen anything like this before.

As Faro led him through the strange deep sea realm, which simply couldn't exist on the same plane as Storybrooke, Jay felt like a child.  The reefs, the forests of kelp, even the empty sand plains were more beautiful than he could have imagined.

Throughout it all, he clung to Faro, holding the mer's hand.  Maybe part of him was worried the amphibious magic would vanish if he were to let go, but another part simply wanted to hold his hand.  Jay tried matching the sinuous undulations of the mer's body, but he couldn't quite get it to push him through the water, so he stuck to the comparatively graceless kicks of a biped in water.

"Good I am glad we got that settled, and I agree about Henry. This is too dangerous for him to be involved," Emma responded and looked towards Henry. "Your mom is right Henry, you need to sit this one out."

After showing Jay around a bit, Faro decides they should probably surface. "Hopefully time isn't too messed up right now." He mutters to himself, because sometimes minutes down here can be hours up there, and you never really know until you're back.

"We should probably head up. It won't hurt like coming down did, don't worry. You should just be able to start breathing again." He swims them up to the surface, near one of his favourite resting rocks next to the shore. He lets go of Jay's hand and pulls himself up, struggling for his first few breaths when he surfaces. He sits entirely on the rock before letting his tail change to legs, and he isn't really sure how this magic works, it's new since he got to Storybrooke, but he's dry and completely clothed. He steps off the rock onto the beach, nearly slipping as he stumbles. Always takes a few minutes to readjust to his legs. He smirks at Jay, "Told you you'd like it."

Unlike Faro, Jay was not dry and clothed, wearing only his wet briefs, as if they were a Speedo, but, clearly, the cold didn't bother him, anyway.

Running fingers through his soaked, white hair, he laughed.  "That... that was amazing!  Thank you so much for sharing that with me." He grabbed the mer boy, spun him in a circle, and, overcome with emotion, firmly planted his lips on Faro's.

Faro is shocked and still for a moment before he kisses back. He's surprised to say the least. He'd known he was serious about his flirting, but kind of assumed that Jack wasn't. He places his arms over the boys shoulders and behind his neck, just to have his arms somewhere other than awkwardly by his side. He breaks apart the kiss, just to look at the other boy, a giddy grin appearing on his face. "If that's the thanks I get I'll have to bring you swimming more often!" He says with a laugh.

If it were possible, Jay would be beet red.  "I...uh, I'm, wow, um, that, wow..." he stammered.  Eventually, he gave up on words and just giggled nervously, leaning his forehead against Faro's.  There were a lot of emotions going on inside him.  As Jack Frost, he was used to the occasional intense emotion, usually destructive, but as Jay Winters, he felt like he was juggling chainsaws.

For one, he was very aware of his lack of pants, and that one of those particular emotions was likely quite evident.

His frosty blue eyes met Faro's.  "I should probably get dressed, shouldn't I?"

"I'm not complaining. Could be best if we're going to be walking around town though." He thinks for a moment before saying "Where should we actually go? I think Loki's probably at my house. We could go say hi I guess, but I don't have much to do there really." He doesn't know what he wants to do really. During the curse he didn't do much, and mer activities tend not to apply to the human world as much, swimming with dolphins and such.

Jay chuckled and summoned the ice raft bearing his clothes towards the shore.  As floated towards them, he quickly froze the water soaking him, then willed the ice to slough off of his body in a flurry of snowflakes, leaving him dry, but still quite exposed.

"Yeah, we could go to your place," he said, trying to sound cool, and not juggling emotional chainsaws.  The raft came to ground at the shore, and he pulled on the rest of his clothes, freeze-drying them as needed.

"Or mine," then, realizing how that sounded, added, "to hang out, or whatever, not that, um, it, uh, oh, air and darkness, I'm terrible at this..."

Faro laughs slightly at how flustered Jack seems. "Yours sounds good." It's cute how flustered the other boy is. Here's not completely convinced he understood what the boy meant, but he understood going to his house and that sounds good. He hums a siren tune as he waits for the boy to lead the way. Nothing bad, just a calm and peaceful one. Maybe he can stop Jack being so stressed. He's should be happy. Hyper even, from being in the water, but instead he sounds really nervous. Maybe he's just more shy than Faro.

Jay led the way towards his little apartment above the tattoo shop.  He was suddenly very aware of his body, as if he had to consciously control it, decide how to move his feet, his arms.  Should he he holding Faro's hand?

Faro was humming.  It was nice, relaxing.  "I'm sorry," he said, deciding he might as well get it all out there.  "I've never done... this.  I don't even know what this is.   I've had...encounters with people, but that's what they were: just dalliances, something to pass the time.  I don't want to just be...passing the time with you.  But if I mess up, it would mean losing my only real friend." He sighed and rubbed his face.  "Being human is hard."

Snow White

She looked between the two other women and folded her arms over her chest. Not equipped to deal with this? Why she ought to... Snow looked over at David incredulously, as if asking if he was going to say anything about this before returning her gaze to the others. "I'm going with you Emma. If people are coming to harm, I want to help stop it." She stared defiantly at Regina. "Whether some think I'm able to handle it or not." She didn't care what Regina said. She didn't trust her and there was no way she was going to let the two of them go off alone together. Emma didn't know her tricks yet, and she was sure Regina would pull something at some point.
