Fantasy Academy of Mystics (New Title) Interest Check

So, it's been a while since I've attempted RP. I am completely open to suggestions as all I have right now is a vague idea of an idea. XD

Basically, some teenagers receive invitations to attend a special academy they've never heard of. It says they meet some undetermined qualifications to learn at this secret institution. If they return a positive response, they will be picked up from their home in what is essentially a limousine and travel to the academy to find out what they will be studying. It will then be revealed that they all possess the potential to perform some kind of magic. Some will control elements, shapeshift, summon spirits/demons/mythical creatures, all those things. The academy can help them unlock and control these abilities as well as work in small teams to fight against a group of, essentially, magical terrorists.

... Aaaand that's all I have right now... Um... I'll just... Post this and see what happens... X/

I'd enjoy jumping onboard! Kinda interested in doing a demonic pact type summoner. Rather than summoning them to fight for them though, kinda pulling a Fairy Tail's Mira-esque transformation.

I think the plotline is a good start, it will just need structure and detail to be successful
For exmaple if there are classes there should be goals to achieve in that roleplay period (and definitely need to set an irl time period for certain settings), same for missions and team building exercises if there will be any of that

Could definitely expand on the details you've given so far:
What is the academy really? Who's behind it, how long has it been around? Is there more to it than meets the eye?
Is this group of magical terrorists a single organization? How organized are they, do they have a recognizable leader? Or is it more like people taking matters into their own hands under the guise of an organization like Anonymous? Are they really the terrorists or fighting againt an established dictatorship?
Just some things I was thinking about as I read it over, more details can make for an even more interesting story

Those are good points. I was thinking about hiring people to be teachers as well so the different classes would have more variety as well as eliminate the posdibility of me forgetting which teacher I'm supposed to be in each moment. XD

I definitely have an interest in the possible dictatorship but don't have that set in stone. The whole thing is still being fleshed out. Would you be interested in helping come up with ideas? It would definitely be easier if I had someone to talk to about it instead of just wondering if things are plausible in my head. XD

Hmm... Probably closer to Harry Potter than Umbrella Academy, to be honest.

Honestly preferable. The latter would have had too much edge too fast I think. But definitely helps flesh out plot ideas now that we have tone. Technically I have to work, but I'll pop in with thoughts as they come!

I’d probably be a Druid, someone who uses magic themed after art, a pyromancer, or a necromancer. The latter most because I have a really fucked up sense of humor and I would probably laugh really hard at some innocent fellow student opening a closet to find a bunch of corpses.

Also, what would happen for extracurriculars/less basic classes? Potion making? Alchemy? Broom riding? Tarot card reading? Familiar training? Talking to animals or plants?

Or would there be normalish stuff like yoga, cooking, or German? Wait, how would normal extracurriculars/less basic classes be affected by magic?
