The figure shook almost like someone laughing. The area around him glowed red and a red dust formed around him. An explosion of horrific strength was let loose just as the knight got close to the figure.

The knight would be knocked back a far distance, and he would slid across the dirt along his back. After several moments of remaining still he would slowly get up and hold up his shield towards the black figure and the cloaked man. The chitinous thing would slowly approach but stop midway as the knight disappeared into the dense forest behind him. The thing spoke, now through its real voice. It's mouth cracked open and the sound of cartilage or some other slime tearing could be heard as he spoke. From the tower, the sound of crying could still be heard

"You have no business here, though you did save me a lot of time. Tell me why you are here."
