Fantasy A new start(Ebony Rose)

Melody made herself as small as she could inside the car. She knew how violent he could get when angry, they were 'together' long enough to be recipient a number of times despite not earning the anger or violence brought upon herself, and even though it felt like a stabbing betrayal on her part a tiny- super tiny microscopic part of her survival instincts- part of her was happy that Emblazia was between them. She killed two men to protect Jewel the other day for fucks sake but the sight of him scared her back into the wreck she was while 'dating' him. If their relationship was going go flourish and last she'd need a backbone to not be fearful of ANYTHING period. And rather fast. She owed it to Emblazia and Jewel.

The guy scoffed and crossed his arms over his chest. "Out of the way cripple. No one was talking to you. I need to have a very serious conversation with my girlfriend about running away." His eyes were hard and cruel as he glared at the car where Melody was trying unsuccessfully hide. "Get her out of your car. Now."

“My name is Emblazia Dusk. You are simply trash so I expect you to instead call me Master, ok?” Her sweet tone never faltered yet her expression quickly did as she broke his knee with a kick too fast to register until she had him down. Grabbing him by the hair, she bent him backwards so he was forced to face her despite the agony he found himself in. “How does it feel to be powerless yourself hm? Can you taste it knowing you have no control over if you even get a chance to live long enough to see tomorrow?” She asked, expecting to get an answer.

From the crowd Siren watched the exchange with a critical eye. She could understand Melody's fearful reaction to a degree, she'd heard the conversation about the guy from Cerberus in part, but with Emblazia back in full there was nothing to fear. Especially not when melody herself killed two guys with her own hands albeit the inevitable sickness and guilt did overtake her once her, Jewel and Emblazia were safely in the safe house.

Despite the pain the man sneered at the redhead. "No little cripple, you got it the other way around. I am the Master and you, just like all women, are nothing more than our subservient pretty things. So I won't repeat myself again, tell my b*tch of a runaway girlfriend to get out here now before I mess up that pretty face of yours" he ordered spitting in the redheads face.

Even though she hated the obviously disadvantaged arse being beat by her girlfriend, Melody hoped that Emblazia kept him alive enough to be hospitalized and not killed due to his wounds. His parents were an ok sort, where her 'ex' got this outdated idea about women was beyond her.

She chuckled, flicking out her pocket knife even as she kept him well pinned underneath her whims. “Ok then dearest~You’ve just won the same ending as the one that thought he’d survive taking Brother from me! I’ll make sure you sing really loud.” She went from sickly sweet to cold blooded calculation, sinking the blade first into a very delicate place for any man seeking children in the future. “Not as if any woman would ever want to risk having anything like that from you in her anyway. I simply am doing her a favor is all.”

Melody flinched inside the car hearing Emblazia say that and recalling the number of times he nearly forced himself on her.

Siren had to stick a finger in her ear to stop the ringing from the pained sound escaping the man. Some men never learned to respect women it seemed. It was sad really but there was nothing she could do about it. Picking up her cell as it rang, she nodded once or twice to what was said before hanging up and working her way through the crowd seamlessly. "As much as this guy deserves it, that was Captain O'Dell. There's a couple of squad cars of non-friendly cops to respond to this little situation" she said passing the redhead. "Take Melody, shower her in love and calm her down. She's shaken up bad by this piece of filth." She was stepping a foot into Emblazia's relationship technically, something that everyone knew the girl didn't like, but situation management fell on her since Cerberus was dealing with the other idiot.

“Go figure. Much as I’d enjoy not letting him go, I’ll just have to accept handing him over to Thanatos.” She sighed, waving forward the male. “I know, you know. You hate whenever you’re called away from your friends but I’m needing you to handle this guy please.” She sounded as if she simply was letting one of her Hounds deal with the delivery of the ex to possible treatment and such. Unfortunately for the already in pain bastard, he actually had been given to the one member of the Hounds that barely took orders from Cerberus despite his being assigned by Emblazia herself. The elusive Thanatos specialized in torture, assassination, and listening to his ‘friends’; voices in his head that made him have a strange devotion to the flame haired woman.

Thanatos was half paying attention to everything around him until he saw Emblazia waving him forward. Immediately the voices of his 'friends' ceased, his stride focused on the mission being given to him. Empty green eyes swept between his boss and the injured bastard before looking to the car. "He is responsible for hurting your Persephone?" he asked with a tight tone. The redheaded young woman before him had done so much for him that his devotion to doing whatever she asked of him was not in question at all. Her fascination with the ancient world was somewhat confusing to him, many hadn't hesitated to call him mentally ill in one way or another, but her comparisons were quite often on the dot. Cerberus guarding the gate, Emblazia as a female version of Hades and her new relationship with the young woman hiding in fear of her life could only be attached as Emblazia's Persephone.

“He’s certainly deserving of a very long stay with you and your friends.” Emblazia nodded, giving the unusual creature a slight smile of thanks. “When you aren’t busy with your new guest and I know Melody is properly taken care of, we’ll have tea for awhile since it is only fair to give gratitude.” She promised, passing him the male that very well seemed to have passed out or possibly just trying to not inflict further pain on himself. She then addressed her Hounds as a unit, her voice lifting to be heard. “Back to the home base everyone. Avoid further attention and be quick if you absolutely must do something on the way.” She ordered, already getting in the car.

Thanatos nodded scowling deeply. Emblazia could handle herself but her new Persephone was not yet ready to stand a true queen beside the redhead. Taking the bastard none too gently he walked away with the scowl turning into a rather twisted and demented smirk. This was fine, people needed fresh reminders not mess with Hades and her court; particularly not her new queen love.

In the car Melody had to fight flinching as she heard the door open. Despite not believing in it, she prayed that the door was being opened by her girlfriend and not him. "Please please please...be blaze and I promise I'll tell her I love her. I promise I'll give my life to her, to make her happy... Just please be her...." Her whispered prayer-slash-plea sounded broken even as fearful eyes opened. Seeing the redhead her eyes watered before launching at her girlfriend and squeezed tight hiding her face in the flesh of her throat. This was worse than the guys from yesterday, this was yesterday times a million. Her animal instincts told her to flee as far and as fast as possible but she couldn't. She just made a promise to a power on high she didn't believe to tell the redhead she loved her and devote her entire being to the other woman. Those things could come later though, she needed to be held and wrapped in the redheads loving embrace right now.

Emblazia hugged her as she made sure Melody was wearing a seatbelt, swiftly pulling onto the road without missing a beat. “I’m right here, sweetheart. Just hold on tight while I get us home.” She assured, using the streets she knew unfriendlies wouldn’t consider trying to catch her at. It meant driving more carefully than usual, but the most important thing was ensuring the safety of the woman in her arms. “I promise you will be alright but I need you to be strong just long enough for us to get back without them knowing we’re already vanished.”

The fact this moment of weakness was so strong, this moment of fear and anxiety reverting her to the scared 'girlfriend' who lived in perpetual fear of the bastards wrath, disgusted Melody even as her grip was like on Emblazia. She wanted... No, she needed to be strong so she could stand proudly at Emblazia's side worthy of her love and affections. Yet here she was quivering and shaking like terrified child. Even the soft and kind words sickened her, not the words themselves but that Emblazia was seeing her so weak. She promised herself to be stronger for Jewel and her girlfriend. She promised to grow the spine to show them she could live this life with them. Then he shows up out of the blue and in an instant she was back then- back to the abused girl trying to escape. "I'm... I'm sorry Blaze." Her words came out in uneven ragged breaths as hot tears escaped her eyes and down Emblazia's skin. "I..I'm trying... I promise I am... Please don't leave me..."

“You have nothing to apologize for Melody.” Emblazia assured, glad that they weren’t far now. “I’m never going to walk away from you unless you’re deciding that for yourself. I’m only asking for you to focus on your breathing and not having an anxiety attack.” She explained gently as she talked her through the panic. “Remember this: You are a survivor and you are the Valkyrie. Close your eyes and imagine yourself reaching out towards your inner Valkyrie, being infused with the strength and conviction of that amazing creature.”

The trembling uneven breaths didn't slow even as Melody forced her eyes to close tightly. She wanted to believe the affection filled words but her anxiety attack had her behavior stuck like she had been back then, needing to please for validation that she was doing good enough and therefore 'worthy' of being loved by anyone. She wanted, needed, to know for sure.... that Emblazia was right. Her strength and convictions had been strong in only one area before moving here- making sure her little sister Allie was safe and happy. More often then she cared ro admit she let herself go to make sure of it, not like she was walking around in dirty clothes and greasy hair but she would sometimes forget to eat or worry herself to the point of losing weight, and it had impacted her health negatively. Could she truly be the Valkyrie that Emblazia saw her to be? Could she possess the strength others could rely on for their own when theirs failed? She wanted to be, she truly did since it mean she was making a meaningful contribution that meant something. "I..I'm trying... I don't know how..." Her words were trembling like her voice was, eyes clenching tighter. She didn't want to... She couldn't disappoint Emblazia with failure to do this when she said it so simply yet shortly.

“Take deep breaths in through the nose, out the mouth. Visualize breathing in calm and strength, exhale fears and doubts.” Emblazia encouraged, understanding the crippling feeling yet guiding her through. “You are not alone in this, you notice you’re being held by loving warmth and guarding you from your exhaled negativity is your inner self.” She continued giving Melody the visions she needed, those showing herself as protected while also being reassured and loved.

Doing as instructed while trying to imagine what had been described to her was a little harder to do. The first part was easy even if you try boil down abstract words like calm and strength into a flowy, almost liquid image while turning fear and anxiety into something similar was a lot harder. They were negative stabbing concepts and... Trying to force the image of her inner self was much harder. Picturing herself so confident and so calm wasn't coming easy until she decided there was nothing lost in trying something else. Just because Emblazia was trying to see herself that way didn't she could imagine someone else for the moment. A mental image of Emblazia came so easily and instantly instead as she reached a hand out to the image. Warmth, comfort, strength, care- all things that the redhead showed in her large quantities. Eventually the tears slowed to a crawl and the trembling ceased but her bear trap vice grip on her girlfriend stayed in place.

“That’s my girl. Just like that.” Emblazia soothed, reaching the safe house without running into any trouble. Making sure the car had been turned off and unlocked, she then pulled Melody into her arms after undoing her seatbelt. “Let’s get you inside now. I’ll take care of you so just relax and try to remember that I’d never let anyone hurt you without a fight.” She took the shaken creature out of the slight chill and into building, towards the warmth and comfort of her room.

Melody didn't respond to the warm words as she tried to bury her form even more into Emblazia's warmth. She knew the words were true and that the love that seemed to radiate from every inch of the redheads skin was pure. It was so softly spoken against the redheads flash but she said it and it could not have meant it more if it could've saved her life at any other time, three little words most everyone longed to hear in the world "I love you." She knew some would say that she said it out of her current mindset but they were wrong. In that moment the love that washed over her, protected her, cared for her filled her heart with nothing but pure love. Even as Emblazia brought them to the room her lips laid soft kisses to the flesh with the same whispered three words escaping her lips before another light kiss landed on the soft flesh.

Emblazia kissed back softly, letting her progress things as she was able. “Love you too little one. I’m right here to hold you and give encouragement as needed.” She assured as she nuzzled the precious one in her arms. “Courage comes from being able to continue forward even when frozen from fear.” She reminded Melody, gentle as ever.

Melody didn't respond beyond the previous actions showering Emblazia's flesh with soft loving kisses and whispers of those three little, yet monumentally substantial, words. If she was going to keep the promise she made to herself she needed to find someone who could help her make the promise reality. Maybe it would be worth it to talk to the one Emblazia called Thanatos? He seemed a little off his rocker but what she had heard and how he said it suggested a fanatic level of devotion to her redheaded girlfriend. If she could appeal to him then maybe she could be more than dead weight dragging Emblazia down as a distraction.

Outside the door Jewel listened silently wondering what happened. Melody had seemed fine earlier when they left but now from the sounds of it something had spooked her quite badly. The thought alone pissed the nine year old off as she slipped into the room. Seeing Melody so protectively held in Emblazia's arms and being so loving, even going far to say she loved the other every few seconds before her lips kissed another spot of skin gently, raised more questions still but she quashed them for now. Climbing onto the bed she made herself comfy with the two, her position leaving Melody snuggled up comfortably between them. Her eyes shot Emblazia a silent question asking if Melody was going to be ok as she brushed a gentle hand through the other womans hair, the action seeming to help calm her more after seeing it was just her.

“She will be fine once she’s calmed down. The problem itself no longer will be showing up either.” Emblazia answered, being merciful in not directly mentioning the ex but still not ignoring the girl either. Her affection continued as she held Melody and did her best to help the woman breathe normally again.

Before long Melody fell into a quiet sleep, her breathing normal and her death grip on Emblazia relaxing to light grasping of her shirt. The dream taking over her mind was filled with the soft smell that was quickly becoming associated with her girlfriend, blood and gun powder with a note of something very faintly fruity that she had yet to figure out how it got there since she never saw the redhead use any kind of perfume, while a version of Emblazia danced with her through a grand hall.

Jewel scowled fiercely and only after Melody was sound asleep did she ask what happened. "Who or what did that to her?" Her words were tinged with fury and care as her hand kept gently carding through Melody's hair.

“Ex boyfriend or least probably close enough. Bastard showed up while finishing dealing with some rat trying to cause drama and she pretty much froze up.” Emblazia kept her voice low so Melody could sleep peacefully yet still the usually evenness held distaste and anger. “Unfortunately just as I was getting started nicely having my version of fun with him, Siren got word that the badges were coming so everyone scattered out to get back here.” She sighed from losing her much anticipated opportunity but her faint smile replaced any pouting as her violet gaze lit with twisted amusement. “The public will testify seeing me giving him up to be released by one of the Hounds so they can’t even think of trying to touch us through. Thanatos himself is enjoying introducing his friends as the bastard regrets his life decisions.”

Jewel nodded slowly with a thoughtful but dark look. Though Melody hadn't said it, she had figured the sweet woman was running from something. An ex would fit the bill, particularly if he was violent and hurt the woman she was curled up to. The thought pissed her off to hell though. "Thanatos will leave enough for us if I ask. He's obsessed with you but he indulges me, I am Hades' daughter as he likes to call me" she said nuzzling Melody affectionately.

Mumbles escaped Melody's sleeping lips as her face blushed scarlet.

“Continue sweet dreams my little one.” Emblazia softly encouraged Melody, holding her with loving affection. Yet she did address the words of her ward as she lightly shook her head. “No, let him enjoy himself. Thanatos is better suited to this than I and you are to avoid the unnecessary death Jewel. Besides, some days it still seems he’s the imaginary friend of childhood despite everyone knowing otherwise. Father did get rather pale at the idea that his home could easily be broken into by him.”

Jewel scowled a little. "I didn't say anything about killing him... I have painful darts with experimental compounds that need testing on a willing subject." The momentary spark of madness in the childs eyes glowed in the dim light of the room.

Melody snuggled more into Emblazia, the scent coming off her skin keeping her asleep. Inside her dream the dancing ended as she fell onto a bed and the world shifted. The lights went way down, the air was filled with a soft smelling sort of sweetness before she saw her girlfriend approaching with a seductive smile and only a robe on. It brought an atomic blush to her face, both in her dream and to her sleeping body, while her eyes went dinner plate size wide. Her body squirmed a little in both realms as her clothes began to disappear as if they were mist slowly the closer Emblazia got

"Wonder what she's dreaming of to be blushing that hard" Jewel wondered out loud seeing the shade of red Melody's face had become.
