Fantasy A new start(Ebony Rose)

Emblazia spoke with firmness, her verdict final whether liked or not. “Jewel Diamonte Dusk the answer is no.” Using the full name of the child happened very rarely yet this did show her stubborn desire to prevent her from more than absolutely necessary killing and overall violence. Her resolve softened just a bit as she chuckled. “I have ideas. Though it’s more important she’s resting easy.” The woman looked at the clock briefly before turning back towards the girl. “Please look after her awhile for me? I don’t want her waking up alone if longer than expected but needing to hit the kitchens too.”

Jewel pouted at the rather firm and final decision made by Emblazia. She could count on one hand the number of times her full name was used to enforce the redheads desire. She hated it! Not Emblazia herself or the fact that her full name reflected all but legally being the redheads daughter, she could NEVER hate the redhead for that, but rather she hated being cut off from giving her soon to be second mother the justice she deserved. The person being treated to Thanatos' hospitality, if it could be called that, had harmed her in the past. That was enough reason to want to hurt the person who harmed the person her all but legal mother loved. She noted the request was used as a segueway to not answer her pondering but let it slide. "At least say it now while she's asleep, she's going go be my second mom isn't she?" she asked.

Out in the kitchen Siren sipped a mug of tea pondering just what Thanatos was doing to the guy who hurt Melody in the past. She tolerated a lot but one thing she hated with unholy fury was abuse of any kid, especially abuse towards women or animals.

“I believe she will once more adjusted. Give her time though.” She advised gently, carefully getting off the bed so she could leave. “I won’t be longer than needed so shouldn’t wake but still.” She gave the girl a kiss on the cheek then left, heading down the hall so she could get something to eat. However, the inability to take the sugar boost due to the teacher’s spite had already taken its toll yet now she felt cold sweats and lightheaded. She couldn’t get to the kitchen without help however she was unfortunately in the part of the area away from any social rooms or sleeping areas.

"You need to take better care of yourself boss." From a shadow emerged a busty but willow thing young woman. With hair like silver and eyes like molten iron she had this midway aura of being approachable but not approachable at the same. Unlike most of the others who were just as valuable to the organization, people like Cerberus Siren or Thanatos for example, she had no title even as delicate hands moved to support the redhead. At least, she didn't have a title she didn't know of anyway. "Kitchen?" she asked rhetorically as she began to help the younger woman to that particular room. "Is she going to be ok?" The she in question was obviously the bosses new beau she had yet to see given her return only a few minutes before from assignment to the other end of the state. Important news never slipped past her no matter where she was.

“Thanks. Melody is adjusting but some difficulty. She’s just needing time.” Emblazia answered, appreciating the devotion her companions showed without asking anything in return. Yet she always had taken care of her own with loving firmness. However, the assignment was important enough for her to want to know the results. “The territory get expanded as Hack predicted or just maintained? Not to mention his theory of how much was so much I’d think impossible if anyone else said it.”

"Not as much as Hack thought but close enough. Inserting enough trustworthy people was a pain to be polite" she said rolling her eyes a little. Helping Emblazia settle into a chair once they reached the kitchen she leaned against the wall with a minorly raised eyebrow after getting something for the redhead to eat.

"You sure that she'll adjust boss?" Siren asked once Emblazia was settled. "Freezing up like that is going to get her or us killed if it happens at the wrong time."

Emblazia chuckled as she ate, starting to feel somewhat better long as her stomach held up. “I still thank you.” She then turned her attention to Siren. “I hope so otherwise I don’t know what could be done. I won’t ask her to put herself at risk though.” She acknowledged before sighing heavily. Instinct told her not to be hoping for sleep for a couple of days if not weeks. The killing from the last few days finally caught which meant nightmares that made sleep impossible.

"What is the little princesses opinion of your girlfriend? We all know how much your daughters opinion means to you" the silver haired woman said. She was the only one brave enough to call Jewel the redheads daughter since they interacted as parent-child and Emblazia even gave the former street kid her last name.

Siren rolled her eyes taking a sip from her mug again. The silver haired woman was practically their go-to information person, why was she asking questions she already knew the answer to? Unless...

Emblazia sensed something not exactly quite right, having a general idea of what roles those who frequented the base yet not part of the Hounds that gave unfaltering loyalty. “You should use better hair dye. I can see the dark roots from here.” She calmly stated, quickly catching the situation. Unable to fight due to her crashed sugar levels, the underground queen was dependent on Siren at the moment unless the others thought to conveniently appear.

Just as that realization crossed her mind, Emblazia felt a part of herself frozen with primal fear yet also relaxed as if comfortable with the source. Keeping the very possible spy in view, her gaze fell upon where the shadows of various objects hid the corner and walls. “Perfect timing as usual, my companion.”

Jewel's head turned feeling something amiss.

The shadows formed into a mirror image of the woman and in the time it took to blink the imposters neck was broken in a way to leave her alive and paralyzed from the neck down. "Apologies for my lateness. I was caught up ensuring Enrico was doing everything as you asked of him." Her voice was rough and carried an irish lilt to it. "I'm sure good old Thanny-poo will be thrilled to have a new friend to play with." A vicious sort of smirk etched itself on her lips as she disappeared with the imposter.

Siren was beyond confused. "Thanny-poo? Where do you find some of these people?" She asked in a very straight forward and blunt manner.

“Thanatos found me actually. The Demi-human you just enjoyed watching I met a few years ago at my favorite club before Cerberus put me on permanent house arrest.” She answered dryly, shaking her head from not liking the decision. “Some reason the supernatural either want to stick around some way or at least close enough for contact.”

"I wonder why." The remark was part sarcasm part genuine even as she finished the last little bit of tea in her mug. "I think its time to get you back to bed with Melody." Middle of the day or not, she knew the look in Emblazia's eyes and since Melody seemed to have a calming effect on her maybe she could help the redhead sleep without nightmares now that things caught up to her.

“Indeed. Managed most before having to stop so at least being able to cuddle with the girls sounds good even if no sleep.” Emblazia agreed, getting to her feet less tiring now she had ate. She still needed to fully regain her what little color she naturally had yet going anywhere would be unadvisable if the nightmares did wield their curse. The inability to focus made driving dangerous and attending classes less than desirable.

Melody stirred faintly as she felt a dip on the bed and a warmth on the left side of her. Soft sleepy eyes opened looking upon her redheaded girlfriend and smiled faintly. It took a yawn or two for her to be able to speak as she felt the nuzzle behind her from a small warm body that could only be Jewel. "Yous ok Blaze?" she asked through a third yawn making her sound a bit drunk. One leg kinda slopped back intertwining with the young girls own so as not to leave her out of the moment. Though she wouldn't know it her eyes glowed a soft silver around the pupil when she leaned in close to Emblazia. A tender kiss was placed on the redheads shoulder, eyes closing as a weakness came over her while the dimmest silver glow encased all three of them. Between the presence of Emblazia marking a soft sort of scent in the air around them and the comforting level of gentle loving calm from Jewel curled up to her form, she was happy. Mostly asleep but happy. A stray thought crossed, danced really, the edges of her consciousness thinking her mate and their child so close made the moment not only a soft moment to remember for ages to come in the future but that it felt right; Emblazia's warmth over them like a protective shadow while she mothered the young girl that was so quick to latch onto her so fiercely after only two days of knowing her. A sleepy shake of hed head dismissed the thoughts for later consideration if they could be retrieved successfully. "Cuddles?" she with the cutest most sleep stained gaze.

A soft chuckle escaped as she wrapped her arms around the two, nodding despite the unlikely possibility it was visible. “Sounds rather nice to me. We need to rest anyway but cuddling is always good to enjoy.” She took mental notice of the glow for later as sleep had already mostly taken her as well.

Melody was happier still as she nuzzled her face into Emblazia's neck. The warmth and contentment that radiated off her and made Jewel adjust against her back. If she was a cat she was sure that she'd probably be purring in happiness. Regardless, she was content in the embrace encircled both her and Jewel. Her eyes fluttered close as Emblazia's pulse practically drummed against her skin. Falling asleep took barely any time, her breath evening out to a peaceful echo.

Jewel looked over Melody's shoulder and raised an eyebrow at Emblazia. Despite the fact she knew what she was, a witch hence her ease with creating the toxins for her darts, she had to wonder if the redhead was aware of what she was. She was pretty sure Emblazia didn't know. "You need to stake a more permanent claim before someone else tries" she said with a pointed look.

“Bit difficult when trying to respect boundaries you know.” She sleepily yawned, paying attention to the conversation yet also tired due to the events previous throughout the day. “Granted, she’s struggling too with adjusting and I keep worrying if she might have to let go for her own sake.” Emblazia understood well the difficulty in how the streets were by themselves and then even more so whether the supernaturals were deciding to act.

Jewel gave a half incredulous look at the answer. Ok, so Emblazia was definitely not aware of it then. "Not for nothing but you kinda suck at being a fae" Jewel said with a straight face. "You are familiar with leaving a claim mark? Think of werewolf lore." Her lips pulled into a frown at the thought. It was by no means a comparison that one hundred percent on point but it was close enough. "Ask her if she would be ok with it. You already said you loved her. She said she loves you albeit its not by the conventional way... A ring, a piece of jewelry or goddess forbid you bite her leaving a mark. Just do something so no other idiot tries to take her from us."

Emblazia looked at her a long moment before saying anything, her gaze difficult to read yet not a phenomenon that wasn’t normal. “I’ll talk with her after sleep. Let’s me think about a few other things of similar topics.” She yawned though apparently would not be saying anything else to give insight into her thoughts or possible clues to whatever else she apparently had desire for sleep consideration.

Jewel rolled her eyes internally as she closed her eyes. "Don't wait too long." It went without saying but driving a point home was her duty as the genius child prodigy. Well, she thought it was anyway since everyone else was just a touch too keen on not having a verbal tearing from Emblazia. Her big sister-slash-sorta adopted mom needed a swift kick in the metaphysical teeth sometimes to get the ball rolling as it should. "The heart of a wood nymph is a treasure that is rare to be given wholeheartedly. You need to take it when its offered and guard with everything you have, You'll never find a more loyal and loving spirit than those with the blood of foresting inhabiting nymphs."

“I’m hardly of anything noble beyond the tainted old money that bastard had really. Mother did deserve better than his abuse.” She mumbled sleepily, having always felt undeserving of the heritage of the dead woman. Whispers never ceased even after her death of possible origins and what she had been before her marriage. Many people speculated about the idea that she had at least been part of the noble court due to her mannerisms and her friendship with several known different royals from vastly different kingdoms.

"Being noble doesn't mean a lick of anything when it comes to Melody. Old money doesn't mean anything to her either." Jewel quieted feeling Melody move a little in her sleep and went still once more content. "She loves you Emblazia. You are a guardian and a protector, not just to her but to all of us. Her heart, it is yours in entirety." The last statement was beating a dead horse over the head. "Your mother deserved a lot better than your father but you are not him. You are someone a lot better than him. You are more your mothers child given all the stories you told me. For once you need to be unafraid. Make it permanent even if you don't make her your mate. Yet."

“I’m trying little one. The mind is far more a deadly enemy than the living.” She admitted, unable to stay awake any longer. Soon she was deeply sleeping yet still cuddling her loved ones. What reason why the young woman refused discussing her mother’s legacy left behind or that she had only allowed phone contact with those remaining relatives eras twofold:emotionally both the pain of losing at such a young age even if years apart her loving mother and her twin brother, half of her soul meant for sharing her life with. The second reason was that of self loathing: her self deprecating beliefs that she hardly ever had deserved to have anything of the noble blood much less old money of her human side.

"It is but the heart is far stronger and kinder than the mind. It's also far more loving and honest." Jewel watched Emblazia drift off and merely gave the redhead a pat on the head. She understood the reasons why Emblazia didn't talk about what remained of her family but the fact that she was holding herself back over such misplaced beliefs was upsetting. Emblazia was practically royalty by association of her mother past.

Melody woke several hours later with her nose still happily buried in Emblazia's neck. With reluctance she pulled back a little and slipped out of the snuggle with a little trouble but seemingly managed it without waking either Jewel or Emblazia. A quiet tiptoe had her in the kitchen and saw her making a meal for the three of them. Walking past the others, god couldn't they stop staring at her, she set the tray down on the bedside after shutting the door with her hip. Leaning down she kissed the top of both Emblazia and Jewel's head. "Wakey wakey you two, I made food" she said in a soft voice.

As one likely expected, Emblazia whined her complaints though scenting food minimized the worst. “Fine, fine. Will try getting more regular sleep but I don’t promise it just happens.” She mumbled, yawning as her gaze looked over breakfast and a quick hand swiped the small bowl of peaches. Half asleep meant more childish than brooding yet it was also time for her mail and generally the time to attempt something resembling a schedule for the day. Now if only Cerberus ever could make her stop trying to skip her meds.
