A new life

Kevin opened his laptop and began to look at the first case. Turning on the car's flight capability, he flew to the location of the first child.

 

[Sequoia]

When Alice woke, there was a shaking child in the front seat. "Kevin...who is this?" She asked softly.

 

[kevinhdobson]

"His name is Jonathan McGregory. I am taking him home. This is how I make my living," Kevin said as he filled in the case report. Arriving at the house, he said, "You're home kiddo."

 

[Sequoia]

Alice smiled as the kid scrambled out of the car and ran inside happily shouting a thank you.


"Hey baby...I should come with you all the time. I can comfort the wee lambs as you drive them home?" She said, grinning as she climbed into the front seat.

Kevin kept on rescuing the children and most of the time had shed blood. When he had finished it was 5pm the next day. Sighing, he flopped down on his bed and fell asleep.

 

[Sequoia]

Alice woke up in a cold sweat and the bed soaked. "Kevin, Kevin! Wake up!" She yelled, shaking him.

"Yes," Kevin said struggling to get up.

"Kevin...My water broke, St. Mungo's. NOW!" She grunted and held her stomach as a contraction hit.

 

[kevinhdobson]

"Ok," Kevin said picking her up. Walking to the front room he teleported to St. Mungo's. Looking at the receptionist he said, "Her water broke."

 

[Sequoia]

She cried out as another contraction hit.


The receptionist didn't even look up from her magazine and just pointed down the hall.

 

[kevinhdobson]

Kevin ran Alice down the hall and said, "Where do I go, she's in labor."

 

[Sequoia]

A few people pointed out an empty room. "I swear to god Kevin..Never again." Alice ground out. "Call my Da..."

 

[kevinhdobson]

"Sorry honey. It'll all be worth it I promise," Kevin said laying her on a bed. Sitting down, he clenched his hands nervously.

 

[Sequoia]

She clenched and screamed. "You. Get a doctor. Now." She pointed a shaking finger at Kevin. "And if you don't! I'll hex you." She gripped her wand.

Right as Kevin went to stand up a doctor walked in and said, "Calm down. I'm here."

 

[Sequoia]

"Get the baby out.Now!" Her magic lashed out, breaking a vase in the corner of the room and flickering the lights.

 

[kevinhdobson]

"Ok," the doctor said. Five minutes later a child was born. After the baby was cleaned up and wrapped, he was handed to Kevin.


Looking at the boy tenderly, he said, "Welcome to the world Jesse Adam Dobson."

 

[Sequoia]

Alice was fast asleep.

Kevin sat next to the bed wiping Alice's face with a cloth. Then he kissed her lips gently as her father walked in. Turning to the man he said, "Hi Dad. How are you?"


"I'm doing alright. How's my grandson," John said looking at Kevin.


"He's healthy as a horse," Kevin said smiling.

 

[Sequoia]

Alice turned in bed, whimpering. she woke up. "Where is he? Where is my baby?" She was gripped with a fear something had happened.

"He's right here love. Completely healthy, like his ol' man," Kevin said smiling gently.

 

[Sequoia]

She reached for her son and held him close as she started crying. "My baby boy." She hiccuped. She kissed his forehead and rocked him.

 

[kevinhdobson]

"Jesse Adam Dobson, my love," Kevin said repeating his son's name.

 

[Sequoia]

She nodded and swept her fingers over his head. "Jesse." She repeated. she looked up. "Da! Look at my baby... He's perfect."

 

[kevinhdobson]

"Yes he is," John said looking at his daughter, son-in-law to be, and grandson.


"Alice, I love you. What do you think will be Jesse's strength," Kevin said smiling.
