i think avoiding the 'claim by thirteen' allows there to be more opportunity for the sense of spite from the renegades in future, especially any feelings of abandonment or neglect, so i'm happy it not to be present. however, i'd say that minor gods and goddesses do have their own cabins at camp regardless of the lack of this rule, because otherwise the hermes cabin is just a nightmare hahaha. i'm not sure what you mean about hades being thirteen, but i'm happy for a child of hades to be present and claimed, if i'm understanding that right!

honestly the coding is so complicated but has been really satisfying to work out, a special interest of mine

i think athena would be very cool for strength! i'm basic as hell so if i were to take that i'd probably go straight for ares, but it's exciting to see other takes on it :')

Ironically I was working on a story earlier today, and one of the characters is a battle-hardened tactician of sorts and I think it’d be cool to explore that through athena!

There’s a lot of Tumblr Face-Claim Directories that are pretty helpful. I just type in “faceclaim directory” into Google

my method is always just 'look up show i like/know of with similar age-range, find an actor who suits'

personally i find writing the character history & personality hard because i dont want to go over the top but also dont want to be boring.. struggles

sometimes you just need a vague idea and a basic history'personality; i've found that when i create ocs they tell me who they are rather than the other way around hahah. orin is a character i've fleshed out for quite a while so he's very well-documented in terms of history and personality, but he originated as just 'comic relief with no real history'. if you want to give a loose-ish idea at the moment and elaborate as it comes about, then that's fine!

but also, don't worry about being OTT! make their lives fraught and dramatic if it gives you the muse to write them. i certainly won't mind!
